General Topic / 4 Ways Men Can Escape Poverty
May 16, 2025, 02:38:46 PM

4 WAYS THAT MEN CAN ESCAPE POVERTY.

1. Get the right woman
Forget the slay queens and women with looks but zero brains. Get a woman who will not only support your vision but will also push you to achieve more. A woman who will inspire you to work hard and not a woman who just makes you hard. He who finds a real woman finds a good thing and obtains favour and power to create wealth.

2. Stop Taking Cheap Drinks
I have no problem with having drinks during social interaction and networking. However, when you drink cheap drinks or drink in cheap places, you hang out with cheap people who have cheap ideas and a cheap future. Big business opportunities are found in places where the drinks are expensive. In fact, in places where they sell cheap drinks, the only people you will find there are people who will be asking you for money. They even clap when you come knowing 'big buyer' has come.

3. Stop being Lazy
"Man ooh Man, why art thou Lazy?" You are too lazy for your own good. You sleep the whole day and blame the government for your poverty. "A Little Sleep, a Little Slumber, poverty shall overtake you like a political cadre in overalls". A lot of men are just lazy when it comes to making money. They have enough energy to give a woman five orgasms without using gondolosi, but have no energy to start one organization, that's why it is so easy for men to manufacture children than it is to make even pegs for putting children's clothes on the line..

4. Know Productive Things
If you keep too much junk in your head, you get a junk life. I know a lot of men who are so sharp when you are talking about girls, about soccer and about street politics, Who is Rich who is not,Who has a good house but you can't bring a topic about investment, innovation and business, they start looking at their phone, yawning or saying bye.. Useless things, videos and memes go viral fast than constructive things.. A man must know how to do at least one productive thing (have one skill).

Remember: Happy and healthy relationship sometimes depends on financial status. To stay a happy and peaceful, healthy family relationship economic stability is important, So, these be a guide to scape the status of poverty. God bless us all.

2 MORE PHILIPPINE EAGLES RELEASED INTO LEYTE FORESTS

BURAUEN, Leyte — In a significant step toward conserving the critically endangered national bird, the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) released two more Philippine eagles into the Anonang-Lobi mountain range on Thursday. Kalatungan I, a 3-year-old male, took flight first at 9:32 a.m., followed by 11-year-old female Lyra Sinabadan at 10:37 a.m. Both eagles, rescued in Bukidnon and transported to Leyte in March, are the second mated pair released under the foundation's reintroduction program. This follows the historic first release in June 2024 and forms part of ongoing efforts to restore Philippine eagle populations in the province.

Bohol Latest News / Bohol IT Hub in Tagbilaran
May 15, 2025, 02:03:32 PM
The Manila Times
By: Michael Din Dela Cruz
PEZA, Bohol firm sign new IT hub agreement.

THE Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) recently formalized a registration agreement with Bohol-based Tagbilaran Uptown Realty Corp. (TURC) for the latter's second project, the Tagbilaran Uptown Information Technology Hub 2.

]PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and TURC president Albert Uy signed the agreement, witnessed by PEZA Deputy Director General for Policy and Planning Anidelle Joy Alguso and TURC administrator and corporate secretary Josephine Uy.[/size]
In 2021, the government designated a 13,866-square-meter land along Rajah Sikatuna Ave. where the Tagbilaran Uptown IT Hub 1 was built. It was the first IT Park in Bohol. At present, it hosts TaskUs, an IT-BPM company employing over 1,400 workers.
The Tagbilaran Uptown IT Hub 2, with an area of 11,237 sq m, will rise with investments worth P200 million. Like Hub 1, it is projected to expand and enhance the local economy and employment, as well as draw more IT-BPM locators.
A prospective locator is said to have expressed interest in IT Hub 2 with an investment of P70 million and employment for 500 Filipinos.
Uy said IT Hub 1 "has greatly changed the employment landscape in Bohol. The increasing job opportunities have enabled residents, particularly fresh graduates, to build careers within their hometown, reducing the need to seek employment in neighboring provinces such as Iloilo, Cebu, or even Metro Manila."
Panga commended TURC for advancing Bohol's competitiveness in the IT-BPM sector.

30. Love your parents deeply, for no one can love you quite the same way.

*Encouragement:*
Parents are priceless gifts. They are the silent warriors who stood by you through your most vulnerable moments, the unseen hands that lifted you when you could not walk alone. Cherish them, honor them, and love them deeply. Life is fleeting, and there is no greater regret than realizing too late the value of those who loved you the most. While you still have the chance, give them your best.

General Topic / Why Focus
May 04, 2025, 12:25:35 AM

SUCCESS NOW BELONGS TO THE MOST FOCUSED, NOT THE MOST TALENTED.

In this generation, it's no longer about survival of the fittest.

It's now survival of the most focused.

It's now about who knows what they want, and refuses to be distracted.

You can be talented and still fail.
You can be smart and still stuck.

Why?
Because without focus, you'll keep starting and never finishing.

Everyone is busy.
Everyone is trying.
But only the focused ones are building empires, creating impact, and making money consistently.

Focus is now the real currency.

So what's stealing your focus?

EXTERNAL DISTRACTIONS

•Social media scrolling
•Endless WhatsApp chats and group messages
•Phone notifications every 5 minutes
•Unnecessary calls
•Excessive watching of movies
•Trying to keep up with every trend
•Consuming too much content without action
•Jumping from course to course
•Attending every training without implementing
•Always being available to everyone

INTERNAL DISTRACTIONS

•Overthinking and second-guessing
•Fear of missing out (FOMO) •Comparison syndrome
•Perfectionism
•Procrastination disguised as "planning"
•Imposter syndrome
•Emotional baggage
•No clarity or defined goals
•Trying to please everyone
•Saying "yes" to everything

LIFESTYLE DISTRACTIONS

•Poor time management
•No structure or routine
•Toxic relationships
•Multitasking everything, finishing nothing
•Inconsistent sleep or rest

If you want to win in this season,

Mute the noise.
Pick your lane.
Protect your focus like your life depends on it because it does.

The world is loud.

You don't need to do everything.

You just need to do the right thing, and do it consistently.

Bible Study / The First Resurrection
April 25, 2025, 02:48:06 PM

In Christian theology, the First Resurrection refers to the resurrection of the righteous believers who are united with Christ at His second coming. According to Revelation 20:4-6, this resurrection includes those who have died in Christ, often understood as both Old Testament saints who anticipated the Messiah and New Testament believers who passed away before Christ's return[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://biblehub.com/q/what_are_christianity's_two_resurrections.htm?citationMarker=43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054 "1")[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://biblical-christianity.com/the-first-and-second-resurrection?citationMarker=43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054 "2"). These individuals are described as "blessed and holy" and will reign with Christ during the Millennium[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://biblehub.com/q/what_are_christianity's_two_resurrections.htm?citationMarker=43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054 "1")[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://biblical-christianity.com/the-first-and-second-resurrection?citationMarker=43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054 "2").

This event provides hope to believers, as those who participate in the First Resurrection are spared from the "second death," which signifies eternal separation from God[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://biblehub.com/q/what_are_christianity's_two_resurrections.htm?citationMarker=43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054 "1")[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://biblical-christianity.com/the-first-and-second-resurrection?citationMarker=43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054 "2"). It's a cornerstone of Christian eschatology, emphasizing the promise of eternal life for the faithful.

Philippine Laws / Felipe vs Leuterio
April 25, 2025, 12:37:35 AM

Whether the courts have the authority to reverse the award of the
board of judges of an oratorical competition.

No rights to the prizes may be asserted by the contestants, because
theirs was merely the privilege to compete for the prize, and that
privilege did not ripen into a demandable right unless and until they
were proclaimed winners of the competition by the appointed
arbiters or referees or judges.

The flaw in his reasoning lies in the assumption that Imperial
suffered some wrong at the hands of the board of judges. If at all,
there was error on the part of one judge, at most. Error and wrong do
not mean the same thing. "Wrong" as used in the aforesaid legal
principle is the deprivation or violation of a right.
Granting that Imperial suffered some loss or injury, yet in law there
are instances of "damnum absque injuria". This is one of them. If
fraud or malice had been proven, it would be a different proposition.
But then her action should be directed against the individual judge or
judges who fraudulently or maliciously injured her. Not against the
other judges. The judiciary has no power to reverse the award of
the board of judges of an oratorical contest.

On Haruki Murukami

Once, I had a layover in Japan, just one day, one night, on my way home from the U.S. to Vietnam. A night that never quite completed itself, a day that never quite began. That morning, Tokyo's sky was dim and cloud-heavy, like a sheet of tired glass, and I drifted through it like a ghost, still lost between time zones. I had no particular plan, just the vague impulse to sit in a Japanese café. Not to drink anything, I'd had enough caffeine over the twelve-hour flight from Washington Dulles to Narita, but to take shelter. More precisely, I was looking for a quiet place to retreat from the sense of estrangement that clings to you in a city where everyone always seems half a step ahead.

Carrying only a small backpack, I boarded the Narita Express to Tokyo, then wandered on foot from Ueno Station into the backstreets of an old residential neighborhood. The wind was soft, not cold, but some invisible sadness swept gently across the back of my neck. A café appeared down a narrow, quiet street, as if it had been waiting for me: a modest wooden sign, not too bright; a fogged-up glass door; and inside, the warm yellow light of a single lamp pooling softly over the tables. Everything seemed designed with deliberate restraint, no empty chairs, no unnecessary presence.

I took a seat by the window and ordered a hot blend. The waitress didn't smile, but she wasn't distant either. She simply existed, absorbed in the rhythm of familiar tasks. Had I not walked in, she might have gone on polishing cups forever, caught in some timeless loop that required no beginning or end. A faint jazz tune by Chet Baker floated through the space, so soft, I worried that breathing too hard might break it.

It struck me then: coffee in a Japanese café isn't meant to keep you awake. It doesn't serve a social role, as it does in Italy, nor does it carry the ease of casual conversation, like it does in Vietnam. It's something people reach for when they need silence. When they need a space built just tight enough to cradle a restless mind, and wide enough to let a quiet sadness expand without disturbance.

In the novels of Haruki Murakami, cafés are where people are allowed to show their truest selves. There, no one needs to smile, explain, or hurry. His characters can sit alone for hours, with nothing more than a cup of coffee and a table. No one urges them to do anything. They are free to think, or not. To remember a former lover, or to imagine someone who never existed. No one asks, "are you okay?", or "why are you having coffee by yourself?" - because even those questions would be an unwelcome intrusion.

Strangely, I found myself understanding that kind of space. Of course, I'm not Japanese. I don't live in Tokyo. But when I sit in a café like that, it feels as though I'm returning to some primal corner of myself, the part of the mind that doesn't need to be put into words, the part I've preserved through countless acts of self-erasure.

There's something unmistakably Japanese in the way space is arranged: every object has its place, and that place isn't about "efficiency" but harmony. The chair isn't positioned where it's most convenient, but where the room stays in balance. Even the cup of coffee is never filled to the brim. It's poured just enough, enough to make you feel held, not adrift.

I've tasted the sharp bitterness of espresso in Manhattan, the burnt robusta at Cong Quynh in the dusty heart of Saigon, café crème in an unassuming café near Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, and a crisp, cool drip coffee at Gallery Drip Coffee in the bustling streets of Bangkok. Each place left a trace in my memory, like how I once carved dates into the trunk of a bodhi tree beside Long Son Pagoda, marking summers of my school years spent with friends.

But Japanese coffee - that melancholic, neutral, and unremarkable coffee - is what stays with me the longest, because it leaves the deepest impression. It doesn't try to make you like it. It doesn't compete with the sadness inside you. It sits quietly beside you, like a friend who doesn't ask anything, but is always there.

I don't remember how long I stayed in that café. I only recall that when I stood up, the outside world no longer felt so loud. And for a fleeting moment, I forgot which country I was in.

That late afternoon, I wandered aimlessly through the quieter streets behind Omotesando, not far from Shibuya Station. The rain had just stopped, the pavement still patchy with wetness, and the last light of day was beginning to slip through the dense canopy overhead. I found myself once more stepping into a café, tucked between two low-rise concrete buildings, a faded wooden space with no signage, just a single bronze bell dangling before the door. As I slid open the glass, the bell let out a soft chime, just enough to send a hush rippling through the room.

Behind the counter stood a woman with her hair neatly tied back. She looked up at me as if she'd known I would come. There was no menu. Only a quiet question, in gentle English: "What would you like to drink... to remember?"

That question stayed with me for a long time. Not "What would you like that's good?", but "to remember". I imagined, in that moment, that every cup of coffee here was more than a beverage, it was a quiet way of marking memory. I gave an arbitrary answer: "Black coffee, not too bitter."

She smiled. "There's no such thing as coffee that's not bitter. Only coffee at the right time".

I said nothing. Perhaps she was right.
Sometimes, the bitterness of coffee, on a short, rainy Tokyo afternoon, is the only warmth left that can still be held.

I sat down on a worn-out cushion, its fabric frayed with time. The café felt like a sealed wooden box - dim light spilling softly over every surface, the hiss of old jazz playing in the background, and the mingled scent of roasted coffee and aging timber lingering in the air. No one spoke. In the corner, an elderly man bowed over a book, turning the pages slowly through a magnifying lens. Across the room, a young couple sat face to face, yet did not look at each other. Each seemed to have stepped into their own private silence, and coffee - only coffee - served as their passport, allowing them to remain in that inner world without being cast out.

It dawned on me that, in Murakami's world, no one drinks coffee simply for the taste. They drink it to uncover something within themselves. These cafés - from Tokyo to Sapporo, from chaotic avenues to nameless backstreets - are not places of conversation. They are pauses in the journey. Stations where people quietly put down the heavy things they carry in their heads and hearts, so they don't have to drag them along for a while. Sometimes just for half an hour. Sometimes for an entire winter.

I remember reading "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage", a passage where Tsukuru sits in a small café, thinking about the friends who had once left him behind. There is no climax. No tears. Only coffee slowly going cold, and thoughts glowing faintly like charcoal embers. In that world, sorrow doesn't need to cry out to be acknowledged. It only needs a table, a cup of coffee, and someone who won't walk away in the middle of it.

Someone once asked me, "why are you so fond of cafés?", I couldn't give a clear answer. Maybe it's because there are too many places in life where we must perform - at work, with clients, timing our smiles, nodding at the right intervals. But inside a Japanese café, I'm allowed to be nothing at all. No one asks what I do for a living. No one wonders where I've come from. I can sit there, like a soft blur, and still be accepted as part of the room.

There were moments when I wished I could live my whole life like that - not as a form of escape, but as a choice to dwell in a space where I don't need to be on guard. A space with structure but no rigidity, with order but no demand. Like the café described in "After Dark", where time flows without clocks, and people fall gently into each other's lives without making a sound.

Coffee, in Murakami's stories, is never just a taste. It's an event. It arrives at the moment a character is about to step into another stratum of reality, or when they are on the brink of facing themselves. As though the bitterness of coffee were the final threshold to the inner world. And the café - a borderland - where the real and the dream are separated by nothing more than a thin pane of glass. Sit in the right spot, and you can glimpse both realms without ever rising from your chair.

I've come to believe that space - its shape, its silence - can quietly transform how we perceive the world. A café deep enough, quiet enough, makes you think differently. Perhaps that is why Murakami never places his characters in noisy bars or slick chain cafés. They need space to remember, to forget, to drift, or to fall freely into a dream from which no one is trying to wake them.

Once, back when I lived in Saigon, I asked Yuki - a Japanese intern at my office - "why do so many cafés in Japan look so sad?". He laughed and replied, "because no one wants to drink coffee in a place that pretends to be happy" - even though he loved discovering the vibrant cafés of Saigon. I understood. Joy is easy to find - in parks, in shopping malls, in karaoke bars. But sorrow, the soul's necessary nutrient, can only live in places that are quiet, small, shadowed, and sparse. That's what a Japanese café is: a kind of spiritual borderland, a silent monastery for the wandering mind.

I left Tokyo the next morning, just as the sun broke the horizon, though its light had yet to penetrate the delicate mist. I don't remember the name of the café, didn't record the address, didn't take any photos. Some places aren't meant to be captured by coordinates or images. They exist only in memory, in a smell, a tune, a slow, lingering glance. And in Murakami's world, all things that matter are remembered that way: irrational, silent, and unforgettable.

And I - drifting through many cities - sometimes need only to recall a café like that, and it's enough to believe that this world still has a quiet corner for those who don't wish to scream in order to be seen.

In 1801, a brilliant mind named Thomas Young delivered a groundbreaking lecture at the Royal Institution that would change our understanding of light forever. Known as "The Last Man Who Knew Everything," Young proved that light behaved as a wave - not just particles as Newton had claimed.
But that was just the beginning. Young went on to help crack the code of Egyptian hieroglyphs on the Rosetta Stone, analyzed over 400 languages, and developed the first scientific theory of how our eyes see color. He even established the mathematical principles for measuring elasticity (Young's modulus) that engineers still use today.
His wave theory of light laid the foundation for quantum mechanics and modern physics. The double-slit experiment he proposed showed how light creates interference patterns - a phenomenon that could only be explained if light traveled in waves.
At a time when most scholars specialized in just one field, Young made major discoveries across physics, linguistics, medicine and engineering. His remarkable breadth of knowledge and pioneering theories in multiple disciplines earned him recognition as one of history's greatest polymaths.

Poems and Poets / Mark Twain and John T Lewis
April 11, 2025, 09:39:44 AM

"Huck and Jim in Their Final Years"
In 1903, on his last visit to his in-laws at Quarry Farm in Elmira, New York, Mark Twain (1835-1910) posed for this photograph with his friend, John T. Lewis (1835-1906), who was born a free man in Maryland and who had migrated to upstate New York.
They met in 1877 after Lewis savd the lives of Twain's sister-in-law and her daughter by courageously stopping their runaway carriage at no small risk to his own safety.
Lewis was an Elder in the Church of the Brethren (the Dunkers), and he and Twain often talked about religion and other such matters.
Lewis loved to read, and Twain would send him every one of his books when they came out, with a loving inscription in each one.
After Lewis retired from farming, Twain and his in-laws arranged to have him receive a pension.
When Twain returned to writing Huckleberry Finn, in 1879 while at Elmira, Lewis was one of the real-life people upon whom he based the character of Jim, and it is even possible that his acquaintance with Lewis caused Twain to continue working on the novel after having earlier set it aside.
Twain's friendship with Lewis was hardly a typical one; of all the white authors in this period, he was the one most fully immersed in and appreciative of African American culture and the one most at home in the company of African Americans.
Near the end of his life he recalled a time in New York City when he was walking with another black friend, George Griffin, and people stared at them: "A 'white man' and a negro walking together was a new spectacle to them. The glances embarrassed George, but not me, for the companionshp was proper: in some ways he was my equal, in some others my superior."
Published in 1884/1885, Huckleberry Finn is about a racist boy's realization of the full humanity of a fugitive slave.
Ten years later, in Pudd'nhead Wilson, Twain would deconstruct the very idea of race itself as nothing more than "a fiction of law and custom" without any basis in biology. As Toni Morrison stated, "Mark Twain talked about racial ideology in the most powerful, eloquent, and instructive way I have ever read."
Mark Twain and John T. Lewis are both buried with their families in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira.

Philippine Government / Vapes Destroyed

This message is awaiting approval by a moderator.

IN PHOTOS: President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., together with Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto, led the condemnation of PHP 3.26 billion-worth of electronic vapes, vape parts, and accessories seized and forfeited by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to warn the public against smuggling.

The BOC successfully destroyed 2,977,925 pieces of seized and forfeited vape products on April 7, 2025. They were confiscated through the conduct of 10 seizure operations led by the Port of Manila (POM), Manila International Container Port (MICP), and the Intelligence Group (IG) in 2024.

The effort is in accordance with Republic Act No. 11900 or the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act, which mandates strict adherence to regulations concerning the importation, distribution, and taxation of vaporized nicotine, non-nicotine, and tobacco products.

This is to ensure that only safe and compliant products reach Filipino consumers.

Mingma Tenzi Sherpa was born on 07-11-1984 in the mountains, and raised among some of the highest peaks on Earth. His home village of Yaphu lies in the Sankhuwasabha District in the Eastern part of Nepal, not far from Makalu, the world's fifth-highest mountain.  He had 39 successful summits above 8000 M under his belt.

An expert in high altitude rope fixing, Mingma Tenzi has worked on the climbing and rope fixing team on many of his expeditions, including on Gasherbrum I and Broad Peak in Pakistan. So it's perhaps no wonder that when he, Nims and Mingma David set out to conquer K2 in winter, it was Mingma Tenzi who was chosen to lead the fixing of the high lines.

Mingma Tenzi made his first trips in 2003, at the tender age of 19, and by 2005 was working as an assistant guide on the trekking peaks of the Himalayas. He climbed Mera Peak (6,476m) that year, Island Peak (6,189m) twice in 2006, and Lobuche (6,119m) that same summer.

By the time the spring climbing season rolled round in 2007, Mingma Tenzi was ready to step up to the next level. That year, he made his first summit of Mount Everest, working as an assistant guide. He then went onto climb Lhotse, the neighbouring peak that is the world's fourth-highest mountain, just seven days later - an incredible feat of endurance.
The following season found him guiding close to home, working on an expedition to conquer the dauntingly-difficult, 8,485m pyramid of Makalu, reckoned to be among the most difficult of the 8,000ers. By 2010, he'd also summited Dhaulagiri, and was working as a lead guide on Everest.

Mingma Tenzi's wealth of practical experience is backed up by paperwork, with advanced mountaineering and rescue qualifications from the international recognised Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and the Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association. Like his colleagues Nims and Mingma David, Mingma Tenzi has an impeccable safety record when operating in the world's highest mountains, and his wealth of experience in both the Nepalese Himalayas and the Pakistani Karakorum makes him an invaluable asset to his team.

Director Mingma Tenzi Sherpa is the powerhouse mountaineer who single-handedly fixed lines on the bottleneck on the #K2Winter exped. He said: "No matter what you accomplish in life, you will always remember climbing Everest as the Best Achievement."

FWA OF K-2
On January 16, 2021, shortly before 5pm local time, a team of 10 climbers met just 30 metres from the summit of K2, the world's second highest mountain. Huddling together to ensure that they reached the top as one, the men began singing the Nepalese national anthem as they strode the last few steps towards the summit - and into the history books.
Before he became one of the first people ever to climb K2 in winter, the name Mingma Tenzi Sherpa might not have been familiar to many in the world outside of mountaineering. But among the tight-knit Himalayan climbing community, it came as no surprise that the then 36-year-old climber was part of the record breaking team who reached the summit.
The stunning achievement, widely recognised as the last great challenge in Himalayan mountaineering, marks the pinnacle (so far, at least) of a long and impressive climbing career that's seen Mingma Tenzi summit 8,000m peaks no fewer than 39 times - including ten summits of Mount Everest itself.

Just look at his achievements :

Everest - 12 times
K-2 - 3 times including first successful winter ascent in 2021
Kanchanjunga - 1 time
Lhotse - 3 times
Makalu - 1 time
Annapurna - 2 times
Gash-1 - 3 times
Gash-2 - 3 times
Dhaulagiri - 2 times
Broad Peak - 1 time
Manalsu - 7 times
Nanga Parbat - 1 time

Facts and Trivia / Jeanne Calment Longevity Secret
April 04, 2025, 01:44:52 PM

Jeanne Calment not only lived over 100 years but also set an unparalleled record. At 122 years and 164 days, she became the longest-living person in history with a verified age. Her life spanned three centuries, and she witnessed some of the most important events in the modern world. 🌍🎉

🌸 She was born on February 21, 1875, in Arles, France. In her childhood, the Eiffel Tower did not yet exist, and Vincent van Gogh was already painting his first masterpieces. 🖼️🖌️ Throughout her life, Jeanne witnessed the transformation of the world, from the creation of revolutionary technologies to major social changes.

🌸 At the age of 13, she had a memorable encounter with Van Gogh at her uncle's store, where the artist bought materials. 😏🎨 Jeanne described him as "dirty, moody, and with a terrible character." She never imagined that she would live long enough to see Van Gogh become a legend of art. 👩‍🎨🖼️

🌸 In 1896, she married Fernand Calment, a prosperous merchant, and lived a comfortable life. 🏠💍 Jeanne never had to work, as her husband provided a life free from financial worries, allowing her to enjoy activities such as tennis, swimming, and cycling. 🚴‍♀️🎾

🌸 Jeanne's life wasn't without tragedies. 😔 In 1934, her only daughter, Yvonne, passed away from pleurisy, leaving Jeanne with the responsibility of caring for her grandson, Frédéric, whom she raised as a son. Sadly, he also passed away in an accident in 1963. 💔

🌸 Despite the tragedies, Jeanne maintained impressive vitality. At 90, she was still riding her bicycle 🚲, and by 100, she was living independently, while many people her age required care. 💪🏽🧠

🌸 In 1965, when she was 90, she made a deal with a lawyer named André-François Raffray. He agreed to pay her a monthly rent in exchange for inheriting her apartment when she passed. However, Raffray passed away in 1995, having paid her more than double the value of the apartment over the 30 years of the deal. 💰🏠

🌸 Jeanne's longevity intrigued scientists and journalists around the world. 🌿🔬 She attributed her long life to a balanced diet, a little wine 🍷, olive oil 🫒, and a lot of humor. She always said that she never worried too much about things and that "if you can't do anything about it, don't worry." 😄🍀

🌸 Jeanne Calment passed away on August 4, 1997, at the age of 122 years and 164 days. 🕊️ Her longevity record remains unbroken to this day, with verifiable evidence confirming it. 🏅⏳

🌸 Jeanne Calment not only lived longer than anyone else but did so with energy, charisma, and mental strength, making her an unforgettable figure in history. 🌟💖

Scott Harrison, a former nightclub promoter in New York City, lived a life filled with luxury and excitement but felt a deep sense of emptiness. In 2004, he made a life-changing decision to leave his high-profile career behind and volunteer aboard a hospital ship in Africa. There, he saw firsthand the severe impact of unsafe drinking water on communities, which inspired him to take action. In 2006, he founded charity: water, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Over the years, the organization has made remarkable progress. By 2024, it had raised over $796 million, supporting more than 154,000 water projects across 29 countries and transforming the lives of 18.6 million people. By 2025, the total funds raised exceeded $911 million, financing over 184,104 water projects and expanding access to clean water for more than 20.2 million people worldwide.

Weird and Extreme / 180 Days in the Cave
April 02, 2025, 08:19:19 AM

In 1972, a French scientist locked himself in a pitch-black cave 440 feet underground for 180 days.
No light.
No time.
No human contact.
He wanted to uncover the secrets of the human mind—and what he found was literally TIME-BENDING:

Michel Siffre was a geologist and researcher obsessed with understanding human biology in extreme conditions.

He believed the key to unlocking the human mind lay in its relationship with time.

To test this, he devised a radical experiment.

Siffre volunteered to live completely isolated in a cave.

No clocks
No sunlight
No way to track time
He wanted to find out:
• How the brain reacts to total isolation
• What happens when you're cut off from natural cycles

The world thought he was insane.

In 1972, Siffre descended 440 feet underground into a cave in Texas.

No contact with the outside world
No sun to guide his days
Just him, a sleeping bag, and tools for survival
The darkness was absolute.
The silence, deafening.

At first, Siffre tried to maintain a routine.
He followed hunger and fatigue to decide when to eat and sleep.

But without light or clocks...
His sense of time began to distort.

Hours felt like minutes
Days blurred together
Siffre's mental state deteriorated quickly:
• He hallucinated shadows and voices
• He became paranoid—convinced someone else was in the cave
• His thoughts spiraled into chaos

The isolation was breaking his mind.

What he didn't know:
His team above ground was watching everything.

They recorded his activity to compare it to real time.

The results?
Siffre was completely disconnected from reality.

By Month 2, he believed 24 hours had passed when it had been nearly 48.

His internal clock had slowed drastically.

His body created a new rhythm:
• 36 hours awake
• 12 hours asleep

This shocked scientists.

Humans evolved to follow the 24-hour circadian rhythm set by sunlight.
But without light, Siffre's body invented its own clock—independent of the sun.

It was proof that the human brain has a built-in time system.

But there was a darker discovery.

As weeks turned into months, his mental state worsened:
• He forgot words mid-sentence
• He struggled to remember basic facts
• His emotions swung wildly between joy and despair

Isolation was rewriting his brain.

Siffre later described the experience as:
"A slow slide into madness."

He talked to insects for company
He found comfort in his own voice
But silence always returned, crushing and relentless
After 180 days, Siffre was pulled out of the cave.

To him, only 151 days had passed.
He was stunned to learn how much time he'd lost.

Without external cues, the brain loses its grip on time.

Siffre's experiment revealed:
• Time isn't just external—it's something the mind actively creates
• Isolation and sensory deprivation warp this ability, causing disorientation

His findings transformed our understanding of time perception.

They led to breakthroughs in:
• Circadian rhythm research
• Space exploration (astronaut isolation)
• Mental health in solitary confinement

But the cost was high.

Siffre didn't emerge unscathed:
• He suffered permanent memory loss
• His mental health took years to recover
• He described the cave as "an endless night" that haunted him for decades

He paid a steep price for his discoveries.

Yet despite the trauma, Siffre continued his research.
He later isolated himself in other caves to replicate his findings.

His work laid the foundation for modern sleep science and time psychology.

But the questions he raised remain:
What is time, really?
Is it a construct of the external world—
Or something created by the mind?

Siffre's experiments showed that time is both.
And that the mind holds the ultimate power to shape it.

"The mind is a universe of its own." – Michel Siffre

Siffre's legacy is a reminder:
Of both the resilience and fragility of the human brain.
And how isolation can reveal the depths of our inner world.

History / The Love Story of Ines de Castro
April 02, 2025, 06:24:32 AM

Basically, when Pedro became king, he had her killers' hearts publicly ripped out.

Inês de Castro, a Galician noblewoman, became a central figure in one of Portugal's most tragic love stories. She arrived at the Portuguese court in 1340 as a lady-in-waiting to Constance of Castile, the wife of Prince Pedro, heir to the throne. Despite being married, Pedro fell deeply in love with Inês, and their relationship caused significant political tension. Inês's family ties to Castilian nobility raised concerns about foreign influence over Portugal, and her growing closeness to Pedro alarmed the court. After Constance's death in 1349, Pedro openly lived with Inês, and they had several children together. However, King Afonso IV, Pedro's father, viewed their union as a threat to the kingdom's stability and ordered Inês's execution in 1355. She was brutally killed in Coimbra, an act that devastated Pedro.

When Pedro ascended the throne in 1357, his grief turned to vengeance. He pursued and captured two of Inês's assassins, ordering their hearts to be ripped out as punishment. In a dramatic and symbolic gesture, Pedro declared that he had secretly married Inês, making her his lawful wife and queen posthumously. According to legend, he even exhumed her body and had her crowned, compelling the court to pay homage to her remains. This tale of love, betrayal, and retribution has left an indelible mark on Portuguese history and culture, inspiring countless works of art, literature, and folklore. It remains a poignant reminder of the lengths to which love and grief can drive a person.

Basketball | NBA-PBA / Tim Grover on Michael Jordan
March 29, 2025, 12:28:17 PM

"After every game, I used to ask Michael one question: 5, 6, or 7? As in, what time are we hitting the gym tomorrow morning? And he'd snap back the time, and that was it. Especially after a loss, when there wasn't a whole lot else to say.

No discussion, no debate, no lame attempt to convince me he needed the morning off. 'Are you good?' 'I'm good.' 'See you in the morning.' And the next morning, at whatever time he'd decided, he'd awaken to find me standing outside his door.

No matter what happened the night before—good game, bad game, soreness, fatigue—he was up working out every morning while most other guys slept. Interesting how the guy with the most talent and success spent more time working out than anyone else."

General Topic / Can AI Replace Human Workforce?
March 29, 2025, 11:00:18 AM

AI is transforming the workforce, but rather than outright replacing humans, it's more likely to reshape how work is done. Certain tasks that are repetitive, routine, or data-intensive are already being automated by AI—for example, data entry, manufacturing assembly lines, or even customer service chatbots. This can lead to more efficiency and cost savings for businesses.

However, the human workforce remains essential for tasks that require creativity, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills—areas where AI is still limited. Many experts believe that AI will complement human work by taking over mundane tasks, allowing people to focus on more complex, value-added roles. It may also create entirely new jobs that we haven't even imagined yet, in fields like AI ethics, training, or system monitoring.

The key is adaptation. Reskilling and upskilling workers will be crucial in ensuring a balanced future where AI and humans collaborate effectively. What's your take on this? Do you see AI as more of an opportunity or a challenge?

Facts and Trivia / Paul Dirac
March 27, 2025, 12:14:51 AM

On August 8, 1902, one of the greatest theoretical physicists of the twentieth century was born in the English town of Bristol: Paul Dirac.

After obtaining his doctorate in 1926 with a thesis entitled "Quantum Mechanics", which later also became the title of his most famous book (first printed in 1930, after he began lecturing at St John's College in Cambridge), he left for Copenhagen to study under the illustrious Niels Bohr; about him Dirac said:

"I admired Bohr very much. We had very long conversations during which almost all he did was talk".

During his Danish period, Dirac developed the theory of canonical transformations in quantum mechanics, an achievement that Dirac himself considered one of the most rewarding of his scientific career. In this field, he introduced a very useful tool of modern physics: the Dirac delta function.

In total he published more than 200 articles, but the one that gave him glory and honor (although not in a short time) was the one in which he developed his famous Dirac Equation, which describes the motion of fermions (particles with spin 1/2) by combining the two great theories of the twentieth century, Quantum Mechanics and the Theory of Relativity. After he was over sixty years old, he was asked to describe the emotions he felt when he discovered his equation, he said:

"there was a lot of anxiety, waiting to establish whether or not it was correct". A few years later he added: "hopes are always accompanied by fear and in scientific research fear risks becoming dominant.

Numerous anecdotes surround the figure of Dirac, but we would like to leave them aside and focus on a phrase that Niels Bohr said:

"Of all physicists, Dirac has the purest soul".

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has joined the Anti-Piracy and Sea Robbery Conference 2025 in Singapore today, 26 March 2025.

As the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia - Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP ISC) Governing Council Chairperson, Admiral Gavan welcomed the participants from international and local shipping associations, shipping companies, ReCAAP Focal Points, regional authorities, foreign missions accredited to Singapore, research institutes, and academia.

"Over the past two years, the global maritime situation has been marked by disruptions to shipping routes, geopolitical tensions, and challenges to global supply chains. This has created new challenges for the shipping industry, port authorities, and coastal states," the ReCAAP ISC Governing Council Chairperson shared.

"To assist the shipping industry in incident reporting and making risk assessments, ReCAAP ISC has published posters with contact details of maritime rescue coordination centres in Asia and law enforcement agencies of coastal states, as well as launched an interactive dashboard re-vamp," he furthered.

Moreover, the Chairperson of the ReCAAP ISC Governing Council, Admiral Gavan, emphasized the ReCAAP ISC's continued efforts in updating the industry on the latest situation, as well as in supporting ship master and crew in adopting appropriate precautionary measures when transiting areas of concern.

Organized by the ReCAAP ISC, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), the conference served as a platform to deliberate on the modus operandi and analytics of piracy and sea robbery incidents in Asia. It also aimed to address emerging trends, developments, and potential areas of concern to enable collaborative efforts to ensure safe and secure seas.

Maritime stakeholders also discussed the global situation and maritime issues, examined emerging and ongoing challenges, and reviewed its impacts on maritime trade and the well-being of seafarers. They also tackled the threat of piracy and sea robbery in Asia, exploring its implications on the shipping community and how the industry can navigate these issues.

Afterwards, ReCAAP ISC Governing Council Chairperson, Admiral Gavan, graced the Maritime Roundtable 2025 to discuss the future direction of ReCAAP, together with maritime law enforcement agencies, leaders of international and local shipping associations, academia, and subject matter experts.

During the roundtable discussion, Chairperson Admiral Gavan highlighted the value of the shipping industry to collaborate with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to shape policy that will provide an enabling environment for coastal states to have a single focal point for reporting information and incident-related to piracy and armed robbery at sea to achieve cooperation efficiency.

Representatives also talked about how ReCAAP can remain relevant and useful in the international maritime community, while sustaining the innovative spirit that brought the Centre into being.

Philippine Daily News / Balikatan Exercise 2025
March 26, 2025, 09:57:29 AM

As the Balikatan 2025 Exercise approaches, the Philippine Navy has announced that this year's drills will include "Live-Fire Exercises" featuring several of its missile arsenals. These exercises will involve the SSM-700K C-Star surface-to-surface missile, the Spike NLOS (Non-Line of Sight) surface-to-surface missile, and the Mistral 3 short-range surface-to-air missile system.

Last year, during Balikatan's Maritime Strike Exercises, the Philippine Navy successfully demonstrated live-fire drills using the C-Star missile, launched from the BRP Jose Rizal, and the Spike NLOS, fired from an Acero-class Fast Attack Missile Boat, the Brp Herminigildo Yurong (PG-906).

Both missiles hit the intended target precisely, the former Brp Lake Caliraya.

If all goes according to plan, this year's Balikatan will mark the first live-fire demonstration of the Simbad RC system, equipped with Mistral missiles. A similar demonstration was scheduled to last May 2023, but due to issues with aerial drone targets, the exercise was not carried out.

While these live-fire drills highlight the AFPs progress under its modernization program, there is one critical issue that defense planners must consider: the available inventory of these advanced missiles.

Do we have enough of these missiles to expend them annually?
This concern was raised by Bons Cue Ph. after the latest Naval News video featuring the BRP Jose Rizal. Notably, the spent missile canister from last year's Maritime Strike Exercise appears to have yet to be replaced.

Naval News Video on BRP Jose Rizal (March 24, 2025):

Moreover, these frigates continue to conduct patrol missions despite lacking their full complement of systems, such as Close-In Weapon Systems (CIWS), Vertical Launch Systems (VLS), and Towed Array Sonar. There is also concern about whether they are adequately stocked with crucial munitions, particularly cruise missiles like the C-Star.

In the coming months, two additional Malvar-class ships will be inducted into the Philippine Navy. Ideally, these vessels should already come equipped with their designated anti-ship missiles upon their commissioning. The last thing we want is for the government to delay procurement until after delivery, which could leave these ships underarmed for extended periods.

Bons Cue PH believes, that Missile procurement should have begun at the start of the ship construction phase in the 2023-2024 period. Manufacturing and acquiring these weapon systems take time, and in the event of an actual conflict, a shortage of missiles could critically impact those ships' operational readiness.

There is no issue if the Philippine Navy continues to use these munitions annually for demonstrations, but, it must ensure the readily available replacements will be there. There's nothing wrong with showcasing our advanced weaponry, as long as we have the inventory to sustain it.

PRAYERS THAT BRING CHANGE PART 5

Prayer For Israel
Israel, may the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high. May He send you help from the sanctuary and support you from Zion. May He remember all your meal offerings and find your burnt offering acceptable. Selah. May He grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your counsel. We will sing for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. The Lord saves His anointed; He will answer Israel from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the Lord, our God. They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stood upright. Save Israel, O Lord! May the King answer their prayers in the day they call. (Adapted from Psalm 20.) Abba, Israel is the land of Your people. Help them to stand in Your righteousness for Your truth. Lord, I glorify Your name, and it is exalted above all. I stand in agreement with Your Word concerning Your will for the nation of Israel and Your people. I lift up the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and their families. I speak supernatural protection over all those who are called by Your name. I decree safety and provision specifically for the cities of Ashdod, Ashqelon, Beersheba, Nahal Oz, Kerem Shalom, Yesha, Erez, and all other communities in the region. Let every enemy rocket be misfired and sent for naught. I say that no success be accomplished by Hamas, Hezbollah, al Qaeda, and other Islamic jihadists. Let a David, Gideon, and Jael anointing be released so that all enemies of God be overtaken and defeated. I decree protection around and within Jerusalem. Let there be no retaliation or acts of violence against anyone. I send forth angelic hosts to the north and declare safety to Haifa, the Golan Heights, Nazareth, Tiberias, Karmiel, and all other regions Threatened by potential adversaries of the north (Lebanon, Iran, and Syria).
Father, You are El Shaddai. Give wisdom and compassion to foreign affairs minister Tzipi Livni and Israel's defense minister Ehud Barak, the Knesset, and the entire world community and their leaders. Lord, I pray for all children who are affected in this time of crisis. Shelter both the children of Israel and Palestine. Let not hate and revenge remain the cycle of Satan's plan for future generations. Let there be a way of escape for the people of this region to experience Your love and life, most holy Father. Send in aid—of food, shelter, water, medical provision, and professional volunteers—to the wounded and misplaced. Let Your loving- kindness be seen in this time of great turmoil. I know that everything is working together for Your good, and You have all things in Your hand, most gracious Father. Be with the body of believers as they stand proclaiming the name of Yeshua in the midst of this battle. I speak good success over the believers in Israel in the name of Yeshua.
Let a believer's anointing be released so that signs, wonders, and miracles take place. I ask that good come forth from what the devil has meant for evil. I pray that salvation will be made known to the people of Israel who do not believe that the Messiah has come. Father, You said that You would bless those who bless Israel. Bless those who stand in the gap for the nation of Israel. I declare that they are the apple of Your eye, and there is no theology that can displace this truth.
I come before You, God, in the name of Yeshua, to declare defeat to all terrorist acts against any and all nations that stand for God's agenda. In the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, through the blood of Yeshua, I speak absolute defeat to the kingdom of darkness and all invisible and visible earthly agents. Let the enemies of Israel fall! Let continual confusion come forth to their plans. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered. I pray specifically for the southern Gaza Strip towns of Khan Yunis and Rafah. Let refuge be in place for those who seek true peace. Lord, You love all. I ask that Your mercy cover the effects of what this war and all wars will cause in the lives of the people. Raise up Your intercessors to stay on the wall and stand in the gap. Let them give no rest to the real enemy in the Spirit. I declare that the prayers of the saints are tormenting the kingdom of darkness and all its agents. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so does the Lord surround His people. El Gibbor, Mighty God, I praise You ahead of time. Your marvelous works, with signs and wonders, are being released in the Middle East. May the natural forces on God's side stand with the host of God's army and declare victory for malkhut shamayim (the kingdom of heaven).
El Elyon, the Most High God—we thank You for life and the abundance that comes from You. Bless the people of Israel. May enemies of reprobation and those who have vowed to hate the people of the Most High God unto death be dealt with severely.
Yeshua, bring about Your plan for this tragic situation as we stand looking to You, the author and finisher of the faithful. Let wholeness and rest be the portion of the land during this time. I declare Your promises are yes and amen over Israel and the body of believers. Adonai, release Your love into the hearts of all Your people, and let us be Your light in darkness so that Your glory is revealed... in the nature and character of Your Son, Yeshua.
Amen.

The Passover Prayer For Deliverance
Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the anointing of Passover deliverance.
I decree and declare that the last plague is released against the taskmaster assigned to my family, and he will let us go! The blood of Jesus, which covers all the entrances of my dwelling, looses every relative of my house. Everywhere my family, my children, my spouse, and relatives reside, the blood of Jesus covers every entrance, and no harm shall come nigh our dwelling.
A thousand shall fall to one side and ten thousand to the other, but no harm shall come nigh our dwelling. Father God, I draw from the anointing of the Passover season. Because I am a believer, this is my heritage and the heritage of my seed. Evil, death, calamity, and harm will pass over me and mine. I commit never to forget how You brought me out, and I declare that You will bring my family out with me. I will remind my sons and daughters of the Passover anointing and what it means to our family.
Lord, I know that it is not Your will that my loved ones be left in Egypt, and I thank You for bringing them out. I thank You that the Passover anointing is even going back through my generations and
bringing my parents, grandparents, great- grandparents, and ten generations out with me, because the generational curses are broken forever. This anointing is now going forward for a thousand generations through my seed.
In celebration of the Passover, in the future years to come I will keep the leaven out of my house. We shall not allow the accursed thing to corrupt our heritage. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord! God, when You pass by, You shall not see the leaven of this world in my house. I declare deliverance in my house! God, I have covenanted with You, and I know You not only as El Shaddai but also as Yahweh (the God who redeems my family and me).
I repent for not knowing You as Yahweh up to this time. Today, I know You are the One who recovers all that I have lost. I know You as the mighty God who exchanges everything in my life that is dark to light. God, I know You as the God who makes up for lost time as You redeem it. I am not bound by Chronos (the god of natural time). I am stepping into my kairos (the divine timing of God), and time is no longer my enemy but my friend. Father, I believe that not only are You bringing my family members and me out, but You are also using what the devil has meant for evil to drive me to my destiny.
I thank You that You have given me authority to lord over every taskmaster assigned against my family and me. When I speak against the darkness that has come to take us out, I speak on behalf of God Himself! I decree and declare that in every situation where the devil has hardened his heart on my behalf, signs and miracles will result because God is at the root of all.
Pharaoh, it is midnight in the Spirit, and you must let my family go! You have no choice. Rise up in the night and give me my possession, that my family and I may worship the Lord. I command the transfer of the wealth of the wicked to accompany my deliverance. Let every Egyptian who has what belongs to me be stripped, in Jesus name! Passover was a night of watching, and my family shall be watchers on the wall of the night watches in commemoration forever.
Amen.
Trench Prayer (When Under Major Attack)
Father, in the name of Jesus, I am at the brink of my Red Sea, but I thank You for the miracles that come as I face impossible situations.
I thank You for Your saving grace, Your strong right hand, and Your outstretched arm. No one has an arm like Yours! Even as You brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea, I know You are doing the same for me. I depend upon You to see me through. There is absolutely nothing impossible for You, Jesus.
I take courage and comfort knowing that You are my strength when I am weak. I call You faithful in the midst of what seems so horrible and unexplainable. My trust is in You, God. I take You at Your word, for Your word will not return void unto You. I expect Your word to bring back all that was lost or stolen from me, in the name of Jesus. I pronounce Proverbs 6:31 over my life—all that was taken will be returned seven times. I decree that no weapon formed against me will be able to prosper, and every tongue that rises against me I will show to be wrong.
Lord, I thank You for being a shield all around me. You are my exceeding great reward, and my shelter is in You. You are my refuge and my fortress. There is absolutely nothing that can separate me from Your love. I am fully persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate me from the love of God.
I declare that You will perfect that which concerns me. I cast all my care upon You because I know that You care for me. Lord, as I submit to You, I rejoice. I know that all things work together for the good of those who love You and are the called according to Your purpose. I am called according to Your purpose; therefore, I know that this too shall pass. It will bring a great testimony and glory unto You. Lord, thank You for trusting me with this tribulation. I know that You would not put more on me than I can bear. This challenge in my life is working patience in me. The patience I am receiving is giving me experience, and the experience is giving me hope. Because of the hope that I am receiving out of this experience, I will not be disappointed in the end.
No spirits of fear, anxiety, hopelessness, depression, or worry will plague my soul. The spirit of defeat is displaced by victory. I do not have a spirit of fear; therefore, I boldly say that I have the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Lord, I take authority over every opposing spirit that comes to contend with Your divine purpose for my life. I declare that I will fulfill the destiny You have ordained for me, and I will not be distracted. I bind the spirit of distraction that comes to confuse and discourage me. I am not moved by what I see! I walk by faith and not by sight.
I release the voice of faith over my situation and say that Jehovah-Jireh is my provider. Every need is already met concerning this matter.
There is no want in my life. Doors are opening on my behalf. I rejoice to know that You have never left or forsaken me. You promised to be with me in trouble and to deliver me because I have known Your name. Thank You for delivering me from my strong enemy.
Jesus, Your name is a strong tower. I run into it and I am safe. All adversities, attacks, catastrophes, calamities, emergencies, storms, disasters, dangers, slander, defamation, accusation, sudden arrows, traumas, and any other thing that comes to hurt my family of me are covered with the blood of Jesus. I bind the arrows that come by day and the terrors that come by night. I put on the whole armor of God so that I may be able to stand against the wiles of the evil one. I gird my loins with truth and sever every lie of the enemy. I put on the breastplate of righteousness and say that I am the righteousness of God. My feet are shod with the gospel of peace. I take the shield of faith and quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. I put on the helmet of salvation. The sword of the Spirit is in my hand, and I am praying in the Spirit consistently.
I am more than a conqueror. Lord, I thank You for the prevailing anointing that causes me to triumph in the face of adversity. I grab hold of the horns of the altar and refuse to let go. I commit to bless You in the midst of my trouble. Your divine will for this time of my life will be accomplished. What the devil has meant for my demise will cause my promotion and prosperity. The greater One is on the inside of me. I command the resurrection power of Jesus to come forth on my behalf, in Jesus s name.
Amen.

I bind imagery and magnification and take all of these things into captivity by faith and call them canceled, made null and void, never manifested or come to pass, cursed and destroyed at their root, rendered of no effect, judged, spoiled, never seeded, cast down as vain imaginations, and broken off of our ministries, its peoples, and families — immediately, completely, and permanently. I cut and sever all ties, bonds, cords, and soul ties with corporate or personal sin, repenting and renouncing all sin—ALL—by trusting and expectant faith, in Christ Jesus' name, and I decree all these prayers accomplished for Your glory, Father. Now that these spirits are bound, I break their supply lines and communication lines and bind up and off of us all reinforcement and retaliation by the enemy. I speak and decree upon them spiritual confusion, spiritual deafness, dumbness, blindness, paralysis, and incapacitation, all in Christ Jesus' name. I throw their plans into continual confusion and decree all of these things accomplished in Christ Jesus' name. I decree that they cannot obstruct, confuse, harm, deceive, or divide our people to frustrate the move of God in Jesus' name! I loose the perfect will of God and the untapped power of the Holy Spirit over everyone involved in this vision, and I release them to walk in the anointing of the Holy Spirit to bring forth the perfect will and purpose of God.
We come into agreement for the ministering angels, warring angels, and guardian angels of the Lord Jesus Christ to be dispatched immediately. We send you forth to cause these prayers to be according to the words we have spoken. Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for salvation, deliverance, and healing throughout our communities, cities, and nation. We thank God for the body of Christ working fitly joined together for the overall vision of God.
Holy Spirit, woo Your people and cause them to tap into where You are taking Your church for this season. We take authority over every territorial spirit throughout the United States and confess that this land was dedicated to and still belongs to Jesus. His people are free to pray, praise, and worship as the Spirit leads. Satan is bound! I also bind every spirit mentioned or unmentioned, known and unknown, coming through any individual, organization, adversary, or would-be adversary, in Jesus' name! You are forbidden to operate against the vision of God, and I command you to return to the point of your origination against me. I send you back and return all curses that came with you, in Jesus' name! The angels of the Lord displace you, and you have been permanently evicted from this day forth.
Amen.
Prayer Against Terminal Illnesses
Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that You are a healer of all diseases and terminal illnesses.
I thank You that by Your blood, victory is gained over every fiery dart of the enemy. I repent of any sins and ask that unforgiveness, bitterness, and resentment be cleansed from my heart. I snatch all legal rights of the enemy to invade my body.
I speak now to terminal illness, and I say that you must die in the name of Jesus. Every malignant growth, tumor, rebellious cell, cyst, or curse of pestilence dies in the name of Jesus. Every abnormality in the lymphatic system, circulatory system, immune system, endocrine system, muscular system, nervous system, reproductive system, respiratory system, skeletal system, urinary system, and digestive system must line up according to the Word of God. I speak to every spirit of death, hell, and the grave and command you to come out in the name of Jesus.
I say that disease, infirmity, and sickness cannot hide in my body. I say that every word curse, hex, vexation, or spell spoken against me cannot prosper. The Word says in Mark 16:18: "They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Therefore, I say that any therapy or medical treatment administered will not harm me or do any damage to me but will be an instrument of correction. I say that the Lord will use the hands of His anointed and the knowledge of physicians as an instrument of healing.
I declare according to Job 33:25 that my flesh will be fresher than a child's, and I will return to the days of my youth. I declare that because I am a tither, the devourer will be rebuked for my sake. I receive the promise that according to Psalm 103:3, the Lord forgives my iniquities and heals my diseases. I thank God for total victory in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Prayer Against The Spirit Of Death
In the name of Jesus, I curse the spirit of death over my city, from my family, and off of my life.
The threefold cord of death, hell, and the grave has already been defeated by the precious blood of Jesus. Early death, crib death, sudden death, accidental death, suicide, and every form of death is bound and blocked. I call out the- names of the strongmen of death and pull their strongholds
• Azrael
• Uriel
• Samael
• Grim Reaper
• Lilith
• Father Time
• Osiris
• Hel
• Izanami
• Shemal
• Thanatos
• Kalma
• Hades
The assignment of death is broken off of me and all of my future generations, which includes death
through: (Read aloud.)
• Sickness and disease
• Domestic violence
• Violent crimes
• Crib death
• Suicide
• Juvenile delinquency
• Abortion and miscarriage
• Terrorism
• Empty shell assaults
• Freak accidents
• Gang violence and initiations
• Hijackings, robberies, and burglaries
• Occult sacrifices
• Organized police and government corruption
• Drug deals and other organized crimes
• Generational curses of infirmity and sickness
• Abuse of the weak and innocent
I declare that none of these will have any power over us— ever-—in Jesus' name. I confess with Psalm 68:20 that escape from death comes from the sovereign Lord. I declare that the Lord has not given me over to death (Ps. 118:18). God, I thank You that I have found wisdom that breeds life according to Proverbs 8:35. I have the favor of God on my life because I love wisdom and will not court death. I agree with Proverbs 12:28 that life is the way of moral and spiritual prosperity, and in its path there is no death. The Word of the Lord in Proverbs 10:2 declares that the treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but the righteous are delivered from death. I am delivered from death! My spouse is delivered from death! My family is delivered from death! My seed is delivered from death! Death has no victory over my life... there is no sting. The spirit of death is bound, and the spirit of life is loosed. I will live a full, abundant life. I will live and not die. The law of wisdom has caused me to depart from the snares of death (Prov. 13:14). I will not walk in the ways that seem right but lead to death (Prov. 14:12). I know that I have passed from death to life because I love people (1 John 3:14).
Those who are drawn to death are far from us. Our households are not houses that are a way of hell and chambers of death (Prov. 7:27). Our feet do not lead to death (Prov. 5:5). Because we love wisdom, we do not have a covenant with death (Prov. 8:36). Because we do not pursue evil, death is not out portion. We are delivered from the messengers of death (Prov. 16:24). We have passed from death to life because we love each other, and we understand that to hate is to abide in the spirit of death (1 John 3:14).
The fumes that have ignited the airways for the spirit of death to flow are fallen to the ground. They are under our feet and have been sucked back into the pits of hell. Atmospheric death is cursed to its roots. The ruwach of the Holy Spirit has blown it away. The scent of revival is in the air, and restoration is released unto us seven times. The gates of hell, death, and the grave shall not prevail against our city. There is life and death in the power of the tongue, and we use the life of our tongue to displace the spirit of death. We speak manifold life, abundant life, one hundredfold life, in Jesus' name. Death is swallowed up in victory. Our righteousness delivers us from death (Prov. 10:2). There is no death in the way of the righteous (Prov. 12:28).
The law of the wise is a fountain of life that causes us to depart from the snares of death (Prov. 13:14). Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil. The terror that comes by night has been overthrown. Lilith has been cast back into her hole. We serve the God of salvation, and the issues of death belong to Him (Ps. 68:20).
Though the Lord chastens us sorely, He has not given us unto death (Ps. 118:18). He has given us keys over death, hell, and the grave. We walk in that victory in our city and in every surrounding county. Our borders are blessed and cannot be cursed by the infiltration of death spirits.
We believe every word that we have spoken and believe that the manifestation of the power of these words will be a sign to our city that shall cause the government and media to know that Jesus is Lord. As a result, many souls will be saved.

DEATHS OF 3 REBELS "BIG BLOW" TO NPA IN NORTHERN SAMAR

TACLOBAN CITY – The death of three members of the New People's Army (NPA) during a series of clashes on March 16 in Mapanas, Northern Samar is a big blow to the communist movement in Northern Samar province, considered the last bastion of insurgency in Eastern Visayas.

Lt. Col. Joemar Buban, assistant chief of staff of the Philippine Army's 8th Infantry Division's Civil Military Operations, said two of the slain combatants have been identified, and the other one is believed to be a ranking leader of the armed group.
"They are remnants of the NPA regional guerrilla unit and front committee 15. There are only a few of them, and they are scattered in Northern Samar. The death of their three members will further diminish their strength," Buban said during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas press briefing Tuesday.

The two slain rebels were identified as Ronnie Pajares, alias Badora, from Eastern Samar, and Edmon Oros, alias Dalisay, from Lapinig, Northern Samar. The identity of the third rebel remains unknown and is still in the process of thorough identification, Buban said.

#SillimanNews: Silliman University (SU) formally inaugurated and blessed the new office of the Dr. Mariano C. Lao Global Studies Center (SU-Lao GSC) on March 22, 2025, in a ceremony held on the fifth floor of the Portal East.

The Center's establishment traces back to 2022, when the SU Board of Trustees (BOT) directed the University Administration to create a center that would utilize virtual learning methods to offer short courses accessible to learners anywhere in the world.

In support of this vision, Dr. Mariano C. Lao, an Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee for Business Entrepreneurship in 2018, committed a generous donation of ₱20 million to help establish the Center.

The Supreme Court emphasized that statements against public officers do not constitute oral defamation or slander when these concern their discharge of official duties —unless done maliciously.

In a Decision written by Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen, the Supreme Court's Second Division acquitted an accused of oral defamation for remarks against a barangay kagawad.

The barangay kagawad was walking past the accused's house, when she yelled from her house's terrace that the barangay kagawad was uneducated, ignorant, and biased against the accused in their barangay conciliation proceedings. The remarks were heard by many people as the terrace was beside the highway.

Under Article 358 of the Revised  Penal Code, there is oral defamation or slander when (1) there is an allegation of a crime, fault, or flaw; (2) made orally; (3) publicly; (4) maliciously; (5) towards a person, alive or dead; and (6) such allegation tends to cause dishonor on the person defamed.

As the law assumes that a defamatory allegation is malicious, or made with knowledge that it is false, the person who made the defamatory remarks has the burden of proving there was no malice.

However, when it comes to defamation against public officers in relation to their duties, the prosecution has the burden to prove there was actual malice in the defamatory remarks. The Court recognizes that the right to free speech empowers citizens to hold public officers accountable because public office is a public trust.

In the present case, the SC said that the prosecution failed to prove there was malice in the accused's remarks against the barangay kagawad. It stressed that while the statements may be offensive, they are not actionable by themselves: "Being 'sensitive' has no place in this line of service."

General Topic / Happiest Man on Earth
March 23, 2025, 04:38:54 PM

Eddie Jaku's memoir The Happiest Man on Earth is one of the most profoundly moving books you'll ever read. A Holocaust survivor who faced unimaginable horrors, Eddie didn't just survive—he chose kindness, gratitude, and joy over despair. His story transcends survival; it's about seizing happiness against all odds.

One day, his world shattered: home unsafe, identity a death warrant, family torn away. In Auschwitz and Buchenwald, he endured starvation, brutality, and death's constant shadow. Yet Eddie refused to let it break him. Where pain loomed, he chose love. Where hatred beckoned, he offered kindness. Where sorrow swelled, he clung to gratitude—vowing to cherish every small joy and ensure such atrocities never repeat.

At 100, Eddie called himself The Happiest Man on Earth—not because life was kind, but because he wrestled joy from its grip daily. His wisdom is a beacon, a call to live with resilience and an open heart.

More than a memoir, this book is a lesson in humanity: light can defy darkness, giving outlasts loss, and love can triumph over hate. Here are eight life-altering lessons from The Happiest Man on Earth.

1. Happiness Is a Choice
Eddie believed that happiness isn't something that just happens—it's something you actively choose every day. Even after experiencing the worst of humanity, he refused to let bitterness take root.

In Auschwitz, Eddie saw people who had lost all hope, and he noticed that once a person stopped believing in the possibility of survival, they withered away. He decided he would never let despair take over. Instead, he promised himself that if he survived, he would dedicate his life to being happy and sharing joy with others.
Even in his old age, Eddie woke up each morning with gratitude, choosing to smile, to laugh, and to appreciate life's small pleasures. He teaches us that no matter what we've been through, we have the power to decide how we approach each day.

2. Friendship and Love Are Life's Greatest Treasures
Eddie credits much of his survival to friendship. In the camps, having someone to watch your back could mean the difference between life and death.
His best friend, Kurt, was his lifeline. They shared food when they had almost nothing. They encouraged each other to keep going when everything seemed hopeless. Eddie saw that even in the darkest of places, human connection was a source of strength.

Later, when he built a new life, Eddie found profound happiness in love. He married Flore, the love of his life, and together they raised a family. He often said that wealth isn't in money or possessions—it's in the people we love.
His lesson is clear: relationships are what give life meaning. Cherish the people around you, because love and friendship are the only riches that truly matter.

3. Every Day Is a Gift
After escaping death so many times, Eddie never took a single day for granted.
He recalled the sheer joy of waking up and seeing the sunrise after surviving another night in the concentration camps. Every morning, he made a habit of appreciating the simple things—a blue sky, the sound of laughter, a warm meal. He believed that we often overlook life's little blessings, but when you've come close to losing everything, you realize how precious they are.

Don't wait for a special occasion to celebrate life. Wake up every morning with gratitude, because each day is a second chance.

4. Education Is a Superpower
Eddie's father instilled in him a love for learning, and this education ultimately saved his life. Before the war, he trained as an engineer, a skill that made him valuable even to the Nazis. In Auschwitz, instead of being sent to the gas chambers, he was put to work repairing machines—giving him a sliver of protection. His knowledge kept him alive.

After the war, he rebuilt his life by continuing to learn, proving that education is not just about survival—it's about empowerment. Eddie's story teaches us that knowledge is something no one can take from you. It is your greatest weapon against adversity.

5. Hate Destroys, but Love Heals
Eddie had every reason to hate. The Nazis took everything from him—his family, his home, his youth. He saw hatred up close and how it turned ordinary people into monsters.

But he refused to let hate define him. He knew that hate only poisons the heart and destroys the soul. Instead, he chose love. He spent his later years sharing his story, not to spread anger, but to promote understanding and teach young people about kindness. Don't waste your life on hatred—it only brings more suffering. Love, on the other hand, has the power to heal.

6. Help Others Whenever You Can
In Auschwitz, small acts of kindness saved lives. A shared piece of bread, a whispered word of encouragement—these small gestures gave people the strength to keep going.

Even after the war, Eddie continued to live by this principle. He believed that true happiness comes from helping others. Whether it was through his work as a speaker or simply being a friend, he made it his mission to uplift those around him.
He reminds us that if we have the power to make someone's life a little better, we should. Because in the end, kindness is what makes life worthwhile.

7. Resilience Comes from Hope
Eddie survived because he never let go of hope.
Even in Auschwitz, he dreamed of freedom. Even on the death marches, he believed he would see his family again. That hope gave him the strength to keep going.

He recalled seeing fellow prisoners who had given up, and he knew that the moment hope was lost, survival became nearly impossible. He teaches us that no matter how dark life gets, holding onto even the tiniest glimmer of hope can carry us through.

8. Live Every Day with Purpose
After the war, Eddie could have chosen to live in quiet solitude, but instead, he made it his mission to spread happiness. He dedicated his later years to speaking about his experiences, ensuring that younger generations would learn from history. He didn't let his suffering define him—instead, he used it as fuel to make the world a better place.

Eddie's lesson to us is simple: don't just exist—live with purpose. Use your time on earth to create meaning, to help others, and to leave the world a little brighter than you found it.

Lifestyle, Culture and Arts / Japan Education
March 23, 2025, 12:31:27 PM

Japan's education system follows a unique approach by postponing formal exams until fourth grade, around age 10. Instead of focusing on academic performance in the early years, schools emphasize character development, social skills, and emotional intelligence. The first three years are dedicated to teaching children values such as respect, empathy, and discipline, fostering a strong moral foundation.
This philosophy stems from the belief that well-rounded individuals are not just defined by their knowledge but also by their behavior and interactions with others. By prioritizing good manners and interpersonal skills, Japanese schools aim to shape responsible and considerate citizens.
This approach not only enhances students' social awareness but also prepares them for lifelong learning with a balanced mindset. As a result, children develop essential qualities that contribute to both their academic success and personal growth, ensuring a holistic and meaningful education.

No, he's not a vagrant. 😱😱
This is Grigori Yakovlevich Perelman, the brilliant mathematician who solved one of the most challenging problems in history. A Russian blogger captured his photo in the St. Petersburg metro, showing him with unkempt hair, a scruffy beard, and worn-out shoes—an appearance that might lead some to mistake him for a beggar.
Perelman was awarded a $1 million prize by the Clay Mathematics Institute for solving Poincaré's conjecture, but he declined the reward, stating: "If the solution is correct, no further recognition is necessary." To this day, Poincaré's conjecture remains the only solved Millennium Prize Problem.
Despite being hailed as one of the most significant mathematicians of our time, Perelman withdrew from the scientific community and severed ties with his colleagues, choosing a life of seclusion. His story is a poignant reminder that monumental scientific achievements often come with solitude.
In St. Petersburg, young people have started wearing T-shirts bearing his image and the phrase: "You can't buy everything." By rejecting societal norms and the expectations of the academic world, Perelman achieved unparalleled success while living a life of simplicity and isolation.

THE CLIFFS OF DOVER AND NOAH'S FLOOD

Located in England, these massive cliffs are composed of limestone (white chalk, calcium carbonite) which was created by the decayed remnants of tiny organisms.

Evolutionists claim that these cliffs which were once on the seabed below, were created over millions of years with very little sedimentation each year (.5 cm per year). But, according to the Biblical worldview, the right conditions during Noah's flood caused the creation of these cliffs. These conditions include turbulent waters, high winds, decaying fish, and increased temperature and nutrients from volcanic waters and other sources. Many fossils have been found in the limestone, here and in other rich sources of limestone that point to a rapid burial of small and large organisms ,which also cause serious doubt to the claim of millions of years of slow processes.

Weird and Extreme / Cliff Young
March 21, 2025, 03:40:55 PM

In 1983, Cliff Young, a 61-year-old Australian potato farmer, entered one of the world's most grueling endurance events—the 544-mile Sydney to Melbourne Ultra-Marathon. Against a field of much younger, highly trained athletes, Young not only became a hero but also redefined the meaning of stamina and mental fortitude. His unconventional, inspiring victory has since become an iconic story in sports history.

The Sydney to Melbourne race was, and still is, one of the longest and most challenging ultra-marathons in the world. Covering 875 kilometers (544 miles) of highways, it demands an extraordinary level of endurance, typically taking runners several days to complete. Athletes who entered in 1983 had trained with the latest gear, special diets, and support teams, prepared for intense running and scheduled sleep breaks to conserve energy.

But Cliff Young showed up without any of these luxuries. He wore work boots, loose-fitting clothes, and carried nothing more than his relentless spirit and a strong pair of legs honed by years of working on his family farm.

At the starting line, the sight of Young was bewildering to both spectators and his competitors. Not only was he older than most of the runners, but he also appeared out of place among the elite athletes. His gait, too, was unusual—a slow, shuffling run that seemed inefficient and cumbersome next to the well-trained strides of his opponents. When reporters questioned him about his intentions, Young casually replied that he'd grown up herding sheep and was used to running for days across his family's vast farmland in Beech Forest, Victoria.

People thought his entry was a curiosity at best or a quirky mistake at worst. However, as the race progressed, it became clear that Young was not there for publicity—he was genuinely determined to finish.

Unlike his competitors, Young employed a method that defied conventional endurance racing strategy. While the rest of the runners adhered to a strict schedule, running for about 18 hours and resting for six, Young skipped the sleep breaks entirely. He ran almost continuously, day and night, employing his now-famous "Young Shuffle," a seemingly inefficient but surprisingly effective technique that allowed him to conserve energy and maintain a steady pace.

As the days passed, what seemed to be a tactical disadvantage began to reveal itself as Young's secret weapon. His shuffle proved efficient, allowing him to steadily close the gap on the more rested runners each night. By the final days of the race, the 61-year-old was in the lead, astounding everyone who had doubted his ability.

On the sixth day, Cliff Young crossed the finish line in Melbourne as the race's victor, clocking in at 5 days, 15 hours, and 4 minutes. Not only had he won, but he had also smashed the previous record by nearly two days. Young's persistence, willpower, and unexpected approach turned him into an instant legend. His win was particularly remarkable given the odds and the fact that he had run without taking any extended rest.

After the race, Young became a national hero. He reportedly declined the $10,000 prize money, dividing it among the other competitors, believing they all deserved it. This act of generosity only cemented his status as a folk hero, admired for his humility and kindness as much as for his athletic prowess.

Cliff Young's victory left a lasting impact on ultra-running. His story demonstrated that mental resilience and grit could sometimes surpass even the most refined athletic training. His shuffle technique also gained popularity, later influencing ultra-marathon runners who recognized its efficiency for long-distance endurance. Today, the "Young Shuffle" is a technique employed by many who appreciate its effectiveness for conserving energy over extreme distances.

Young continued to run in ultra-marathons well into his 70s, inspiring countless athletes and people worldwide. His life and career became a powerful reminder that determination and self-belief could help people overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.

Cliff Young's story resonates to this day because it challenges traditional ideas of physical limits and proves that age is just a number. He showed that courage, commitment, and an open mind to unconventional approaches could turn the impossible into reality. For ultra-marathoners and enthusiasts around the world, the story of Cliff Young remains a cherished legend, a testament to the power of persistence and the human spirit.

The Duterte Arrest: A short vacay for Digong in The Hague but a step towards the downfall of PBBM Administration

Upon learning of the ICC warrant of arrest, PRRD could have sought refuge in China and President Xi Jin Ping would have surely welcomed him with open arms. But he decided to come home and calmly faced his arresting officers at the airport led by the administration's mad dog from the PNP, General Nick Torre. Albeit already in an advanced age and with frail health (could hardly walk), Digong (for brevity) chose once again to risk his life and limb if only, his arrest would trigger something for the betterment of his country which is now saddled with rampant corruption, abuses by those in power and oppression of ordinary citizens.

In the course of his arrest, Digong has masterfully exposed the ills of the PBBM Administration for which the Filipinos must do something about.

First, he exposed how Marcos has bastardized the PNP as an organization, thereby using it as his political tool in brutally maiming his nemesis. The demeanor of Torre, says it all, especially when he threatened to physically assault Duterte, a 79-year old man, and an ex-President at that, in forcing him to get to the chartered plane against his will. We saw teary eyed arresting police officers who must have realized how unjust it is for the PNP to arrest a man who took care of their institution during his incumbency, fought for them to the hilt, doubled their salary and other benefits so their families can live a decent life while serving the country which the current administration never cared about.

The ironic of it all is the fact that the crimes against humanity which Digong is being charged for and necessitated his arrest by the ICC were committed by the PNP elements themselves in carrying out his bloody drug war.  And to shield the PNP as an institution and the officers  involved in saving our country from becoming a narco state, Digong publicly admitted that the buck stops right with him and therefore, he alone should suffer for the consequences of the drug war, thereby absolving the PNP from being implicated. Such public admission has been used as one of the basis for his incarceration at the ICC. For the men and women in uniform, isn't it heartbreaking for the public to see how the very person who protected the PNP even at the twilight zone of his days, could be subjected with such inhumane level of disrespect and harassment by one of your own - Police General Nicolas Torre? Shame!

Second, Digong has cemented the narrative on Marcos' blind subservience to the dictate of foreign entities. The US President has imposed sanctions on ICC people for issuing a warrant of arrest against its ally, Netanyahu of Israel and for trying to investigate Americans for allegedly committing crimes against humanity abroad. He mocked and ridiculed ICC as a useless institution and warn them from ever investigating Americans on their soil as such is an affront to America's sovereignty which President Donald Trump is willing to defend to the hilt at all cost.

Paradoxically however, our country's President, PBBM, happily announced to the disgusted Filipino public that his government has arrested our country's former President in compliance with the Warrant of Arrest issued by the ICC. In fact, the arrest was done within hours after its issuance just to show how excited he is to slurp the ugly ass of the ICC prosecutor, in blatant disregard to the basic rights of Digong, a Filipino citizen and a former President, under our own laws. The ICC people must have been baffled at how quick PBBM in turning over to The Hague his own compatriot for trial even using an expensive chartered flight paid for in millions of pesos by Filipino taxes just so Digong can rot in the ICC prison cell. ICC folks must have wished 'Sana lahat ng Presidente sa mga bansang may kaso sa ICC ay kasing TANGA ng Presidente ng Pilipinas'.

Such Presidential idiotic miscalculation has placed our country in a precarious situation where our independence is now the subject of global ridicule. By sending Digong to the Hague to please the ICC which the US, our main country ally, has despised and sanctioned, the PBBM government has mocked our country's sovereignty and has therefore lost his moral ascendancy to even talk about it, much less with China in relation to the issue of the West Philippine Sea. Shame!

As Digong is now settled in The Hague for a brief reprieve, the nightmares of PBBM has started unfolding with the insurmountable backlash he is now facing as consequential ramifications on his contemptuous machinations against Digong.

We now see prayer rallies in various parts of the country condemning PBBM for his actions. And as the anti-PBBM sentiment momentum increases, contrary to the belief that these can't be sustained, these prayer rallies will soon transform into organized mass demonstrations calling for PBBM's resignation. Then with the help of religious groups like INC, KOJC and other aggrupation of whatever denomination or ideological persuasion either sympathetic to Duterte or just disgusted by the perceived corrupt PBBM government, a massive nationwide mobilization against the government, with Manila as the center, is no longer a remote possibility - this time even bigger than what happened in EDSA in 1986.

What will fuel further to the public anger is the obvious inability of the PBBM administration in appropriately responding to corruption related legal battles it is now facing before the Supreme Court. The impending SC decision enjoining the administration to return the PhilHealth fund will be derogatory to its credibility as it creates an impression that it has been caught red handed in trying to steal public money dedicated to the people's health. And once the deliberation on the blank pages of the bicam report of the 2025 budget commences on April 1, thereby assailing the constitutionality of the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the anomalies in the budget processes favoring PBBM allies will be exposed to the public eye which will be fatal to the administration.

With the SC taking the cudgel for the public on the matter of GAA anomalies, questions on the dubious use of the unprogrammed funds, the Romualdez-pet ayuda initiative worth billions, the bloated budget of the DPWH flood controls, the questionable reduction on the budget of education and defense, etc, will be placed under the scrutiny of the public eye and hence, will become serious issues against PBBM that will further erode whatever level of public trust left of him.

Of course, the Duterte arrest issue and the corruption and scandals hounding PBBM will definitely have impact on the upcoming elections. Any bets identified with the administration at the national and local levels will be rejected by those who sympathized with the Dutertes and such will eventually give birth to the anti-administration candidates machinery, campaigning rigorously against PBBM bets. We can then expect to see Senatorial candidates changing standings on the survey rank owing to the anti PBBM sentiments. And any post-Duterte-arrests elections surveys will bear this out and the downward trend will continue, particularly on the public diminution of support for the administration candidates.

The worst scenario for PBBM to face is the post-May 2025 elections, assuming he can reach that far without being removed by force. The House of Representatives will be manned by different caliber of people, and so with the Senate which is expected to have new few ones and returnees. He can only pray that his ass-slurping congressmen will get reelected to keep the HOR as his rubber stamp and continue the plunder of our country's coffers.

But political opportunism is deeply rooted in the culture among Congressmen and Senators. They always think of long-term survival, self-preservation and perpetuation into power for as long as allowed by law – well, maybe to serve better for a few. Given the damaged reputation of PBBM and the notorious image of Romualdez as the main architect of the scandalous GAA heists for the last 3 years and who never have the chance of becoming elected as President in the 2028 Presidential elections based on reputable survey results, shifting of alliances in HOR is expected to happen and a new force will emerge which is likely throwing its support to VP Sara Duterte, the most favored candidate to be the next President.

Once power is snatched in HOR and Romualdez' tyranny is finally abbreviated, PBBM impeachment is next and the rest will be history. But again, assuming that PBBM can reach this far without being removed from office by force.

Meanwhile, the SC has directed the government to respond within the non-extendible 24 hours (starting yesterday) from responding why the petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus filed by the Duterte siblings for the release of former President should not be issued. This is aside from the petition for injunction with prayer for TRO filed by Senator Bato for which the government is also directed to answer within the non-extendible 10 days. These are on top of the series of petitions filed in relation to the impeachment proceedings against VP Sara for which the government is also directed by the SC to respond.

While the Solicitor General is tasked to answer for all the legal mess created by the administration which may eventually exhaust them, the President will have to work hard in weighing everything to give the right direction which may render him exhausted too for long hours of work. But PBBM does not have to worry. His PNP Chief, Gen. Marbil once justified the use of meth by those workers who used it to extend their level of efficiency in their work for long hours, and hence, they should be treated as victims too. Why not give meth a try Mr. President? For a change of what you used to!

What PBBM and his ilk failed to realize is the fact the ICC is a neutral ground. Anti Duterte forces have been in cahoots with a bias ICC prosecutor who has been fed with anti-Duterte information in relation to his bloody drug war. The warrant of arrest was issued on the basis of a one-sided information because we never participated in the proceedings on the first place. But while Digong's lawyers continue to question ICC's jurisdiction over him given the complementarity issue and other legal defenses, the fact remains that Digong is being charged with crimes against humanity for his bloody drug war. But isn't it a fact that Digong waged such war to prevent the drug lords, pushers and addicts from victimizing and destroying our country's humanity? That his drug war has prevented our country from becoming a narco state which gained global adulation to say the least.

Once this truthful narrative reaches the halls of ICC, it will be a game changer. European judges appreciate evidence objectively and they do not wish to be caught in domestic political wranglings in the countries involved. In the Duterte case, among the complainants is Trillanes whose political hatred for Duterte is beyond measure... Atty. Conti who is working with the ICC prosecutor in locking Duterte up is identified with the left groups which Duterte has single handedly almost annihilated during his term of office for crimes against the Filipino people. PBBM immediately arrested Duterte and turned him over to ICC which is unusual for all the countries they have worked with and of course knowing that Duterte is a threat to PBBM's political survival. And ICC must have realized now the support for Duterte by Filipinos on his drug war given the current and expanding anticipated mass mobilizations condemning his arrests.

All told, the above factors smell domestic politics being at play which ICC refrains from being dragged upon given the criticism on its neutrality. And this has been exacerbated by the ICC cohort from the Philippines, Atty Conti, who threatened that the trial of Digong can last for 8 years and ergo, he may die in The Hague prison before his case will be finished. Certainly, given such devilish intent of keeping Digong suffer and die while in detention, the ICC judges must have seen the demonism that envelopes Atty. Conti's inner being on account of her hatred for Duterte which demands appropriate exorcism, if not sodomism for her eternal satisfaction and repose.

In terms of time frame, and given the battery of lawyers, volunteers and support for Digong at the Hague, the legal battle he is facing will be over hopefully after the May 2025 elections. That should be sufficient time for the old man to enjoy the hospitality of The Hague and as an institution as a whole.

The worst scenario which PBBM will be facing is when Digong comes home in a coffin due to age while incarceration – God forbid. In that scenario, PBBM can only wish that he is still capable as a man and in power, to at least, personally excavate the remains of his father from the Libingan ng mga Bayani to give way for Duterte's remains - and with the help of his family, carry the skeleton of the most hated dictator whom Duterte once helped redeem his name but betrayed by his own son, to eternal damnation in Ilocos, where the Human Development Index (HDI) is almost Southern Europe, where it rightly belongs to be perpetually condemned in history.

And this should serve as lessons to Marcos siblings, particularly Zandro Marcos, who may be given the chance in the future to once again clear the condemned Marcos family name. For all the future Marcos demonic political machinations, Kitty Duterte shall be your worst nightmare as she has shown in defending his Dad from the Marcos treachery!

Inter-Agency Crackdown on the "Ground Zero" of POGO Operations Inside a Commercial Tower in Makati City

The Makati Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), in coordination with the Philippine National Police – Crime Investigation and Detection Group, Department of Justice – Office of the Cybercrime, Makati City Police, elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, conducted an inspection inside PBCom Tower, located at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Rufino Avenue, on March 6, 2025, targeting specific building floors reported of operating scam hubs and engaging in illegal offshore gaming activities.

Although no foreign nationals were found working at the alleged scam sites, several rooms showed clear signs of activity before the authorities arrived. Computers were still powered on, unconsumed food was left behind, and numerous scamming scripts were discovered. Additionally, money vaults, company IDs of foreign nationals, company-issued phones, and SIM cards had been hastily discarded, suggesting that operations were ongoing shortly before the raid.

PBCom Tower was once home to pioneers of the offshore gaming industry, dating back to 2017. Many of the industry's biggest players previously operated within the building but have since relocated to undisclosed locations, which are currently under investigation.

Business and Economy / NFA Rice Stocks
February 28, 2025, 08:39:52 PM

The National Food Authority (NFA) is urging local government units (LGUs) to speed up the pullout of rice stocks under the current food security emergency to free up valuable storage space.

The sale of NFA rice stocks, through the Department of Agriculture's Food Terminals Inc. (FTI) at P33 to P35 per kilo, will enable the NFA to procure more palay from local farmers, helping protect them from price manipulators.

NFA Administrator Larry Lacson emphasized the importance of this process for both food security and fair pricing. "We appeal to LGUs to fast-track the pullout of rice reserves. This will open up space in our warehouses, allowing us to procure more palay and ensure that farmers aren't at the mercy of traders pushing down prices," Lacson said.

Last photograph of Hachiko: The dog who waited nine years for his master
In March 1935, this poignant image of Hachiko, the loyal Japanese Akita Inu, was captured shortly before his passing. This photograph marks the end of a story of devotion and faithfulness that has touched the world.
Hachiko became famous for his incredible loyalty to his master, Professor Hidesaburo Ueno. Every day, the dog waited patiently outside Tokyo's Shibuya Train Station, even after Ueno's sudden death in 1925. For nearly a decade, Hachiko returned to the same place, day after day, awaiting the return of his beloved master.
Hachiko's story has transcended borders, inspiring books, films and monuments worldwide. Their legacy is a symbol of unwavering loyalty and unconditional love. This latest photograph captures the serenity and dignity of a dog who never lost hope, even in the final moments of his life. See more....

Philippine History / Michael Jackson in Manila

MY CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH MICHAEL JACKSON ❤️
By Gwen Cariño

When I was a PR officer at Manila Hotel, I was assigned to head the annual Orphan's Christmas Party where 300 children from different orphanages around Metro Manila were treated to a day of fun and surprises. It was one of the biggest projects on my plate and it was such a challenge to focus on work the day before the big event, knowing Michael Jackson was billeted in the hotel.

Two nights before, I had been fortunate to be part of his welcome line at the hotel lobby together with the rest of the PR and sales staff but was content enough to see him walk by.

The day before, a guy claiming to be Michael Jackson's aide from Mamarao Productions came to the office. I couldn't recall his name but he looked for the "person in charge" and said his boss had read the announcement about the event in the Dear Guest flyers we had circulated to all the rooms a week before. Michael wanted to know how he could help.

His aide went up to the Penthouse and down to the PR office several times after we gave our suggestions.

Michael offered to fill up the 300 loot bags with goodies and toys, candies and chocolates. But after getting close to 50 sponsors, it was actually a problem for us to dispose of everything.

So I thought hard...how can the King of Pop meaningfully join the affair? I couldn't possibly have him be with the kids in the palayok game or the pabitin as he might end up being mobbed! And since the annual event was really all about giving, I mustered all my courage and told the Mamarao guy that the best thing I could think of was for Michael to literally be present to help distribute the loot bags, sign autographs and pose with the children for photos. "Wow, that may not be easy. You're talking about handing goodie bags to 300 children and I can just imagine the chaos. We'll see, Ms. Jacinto. I'll get back to you," he said.

Lunch break came and it was the most hurried one I ever took in my entire life. It wasn't until after 5 p.m. that Michael's aide came back and said, "Michael is more than happy to do whatever you suggest. How do we go about it tomorrow?"

I wanted to scream. I had to calm myself and regain composure as the Lizzie Maguire in me said, "Get real, get back into focus."

We agreed that Michael would join after the games, musical program and snacks, and at the last part to give out the loot bags. My colleague Annette Africano and boss Dulce Agnir requested for additional security around the garden and the stage area as this was where we decided to distribute the gifts. We made sure the children would form an orderly line.

Then the moment arrived. It was at the Champagne Gardens on Dec. 7, 1996. I was surprised to see him walking towards us, guided by his aide. Michael came up to me as I had to brief him.

"Hi, how are you? Thanks so much for letting me in, I know I'm early 'coz I didn't want to miss the program."

I said, "Are you kidding? Thanks so much for volunteering! Here's what Michael, why don't you just sit here and watch the musical numbers before we get into the gift giving. I will have to tweak the program a bit."

He replied, "Sure, anything you say... (pausing to look at my name tag) Gwen!"

I was stunned at how incredibly sweet and modest he was. And in my mind it was, "Oh my God, this is really happening!"

Amazing how he patiently sat through the whole program. Carol Banawa, then an Ang TV mainstay couldn't believe Michael Jackson was watching her perform. She had her red blouse signed by him right after her number. Then followed Stefano Mori's dance number. Later, his back up singers and dancers came up on stage followed by select kids from different orphanages who danced to the beat of Billie Jean. Oh, the smile on Michael's face was just amazing.

Then we announced that Michael will be distributing gifts onstage. I explained to him that there's a loot bag for the younger kids and another for the older ones and he nodded. The thrill and excitement he gave those children was incredibly touching. It was in between the gift bag distribution that I caught a glimpse of Michael Jackson, not as a performer but as a person.

It was one in the afternoon. Santa Claus (David Endriga, a friend of fellow PR officer Francis Capistrano) was with us.

The heat was scourging and I was worried that Michael felt so hot with his black long-sleeved signature attire and hat.

"Are you alright Michael? We can let you take a break," I asked.

He said, "I'm cool Gwen. Just imagine how Santa feels inside his velvet suit and beard. We'll be fine."

I never heard him complain or say a word about how hot it was or how long the line was. He had the most beautiful manners. He didn't even ask for a drink or a towel to wipe his sweat but one of our banquet staff made sure he got a glass of fresh orange juice.

An hour passed and we were halfway through gift-giving when we noticed that the garden was getting filled up. Suddenly, there were people from media, politicians, officials and hotel guests including those in a wedding reception at the nearby Champagne Room who deserted the newly-weds just to get a glimpse of the King of Pop.

"Oh oh, this isn't supposed to be, I'm so sorry," I said. It's all right, we'll get through it," Michael said smiling.

As we finished giving out the last loot bag to an 11-year-old orphan, a new line of more kids and adults formed. Michael's bodyguard, Wayne, said. "We can leave now."

Michael replied calmly, "We can't leave when there are still people in line. It's Christmas, dude."

I felt my heart beat faster and the hair on my arms and the back of my neck stood up. He wasn't just the most electrifying performer, but the most generous person.

One of the most memorable moments was when a lady came up to him for an autograph. Laughing and holding his tummy, he said "Hey Gwen, you've gotta check this out. He whispered, "It's a blank check. The lady is making me sign on a blank check."

We laughed hard and little did we know that it wasn't even half of the comedy. He later showed me and Wayne other stuff people would use or pick up on the ground when they couldn't find paper for him to sign on. One lady made him sign at the back of her elegant, designer Filipiniana gown. One teenager came up to him holding a dead leaf and another one, a popped balloon. Imagine how our laughter ballooned as well.

It was an amazing, genuine experience. At one point he asked if I was going to catch his History concert and I said "tomorrow night."

"Oh, you'll have a blast!" Michael told me.

At this point he became concerned about the stage as adults outnumbered the kids. His face had nervousness written all over it but he still didn't complain. He tapped the wooden floor with his foot several times making sure it was sturdy enough not to fall apart. "I've experienced the stage collapse and I just want to make sure we're all safe here," he explained.

Half of me wanted the line to finish because we
were literally melting and worried about our safety, but half of me didn't, knowing that once the line ended, Michael will leave.

At some point it did end. I managed to get an autograph for my sisters and me before our general manager, Clem Pablo, requested him to sing Give Love on Christmas Day.

Cesar Sarino, one of the hotel's officials, addressed his thank you note to the King of Pop. Then I saw his guards and aides whisking Michael off stage.

I said in my mind, "Oh man, I didn't even have the chance to say goodbye."

Suddenly, I saw Michael return on stage and say, "Thanks so much to you and your team, Gwen. This really means a lot."

Then he held me beside him and said, "I'll see you at the concert."

As Michael Jackson is laid to rest and returned to pristine condition in the afterlife, these two incredible acts of the King of Pop – volunteering for charity and unselfishly spending time with the less fortunate, will forever be the way I will remember this man.

Jazz in Haruki Murakami's novels is not merely the distant echo of a record spinning in a dimly lit bar - it's the subterranean pulse of his characters' inner worlds, the rhythm of wandering souls adrift in life's uncertainty. In this realm, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Bill Evans are more than jazz legends; they are silent companions, leading his characters through fractured emotions and moments of profound disorientation. Their melodies - marked by abrupt silences, unexpected shifts, and subtle yet tempestuous transformations - perfectly mirror the human condition: yearning yet forever teetering on the edge of disappointment, shrouded in ambiguity yet incapable of escape, solitary yet ceaselessly searching for connection. In Murakami's world, jazz isn't just a genre - it's a philosophy, a state of being, where improvisation conceals an invisible fate, where broken harmonies dissolve into darkness, giving voice to souls that will never find rest.

"Kind of Blue" is one of Miles Davis's most exquisite works, seamlessly blending musical freedom with a deep, melancholic solitude. Its opening track, "So What", unfolds with a cool, measured rhythm that feels both tranquil and uncertain, as though one is drifting through an endless landscape with no clear destination. This echoes the emotional state of Kafka Tamura in "Kafka on the Shore", as he navigates the fragmented ruins of his past and the hazy outlines of an unknowable future. Davis's music offers no resolution - just as Murakami's characters don't journey through uncertainty to find answers, but to embrace the ambiguity of existence itself. This fluid, unpredictable quality defines their inner landscapes, where they are left to confront the shattered pieces of their own being.

John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" is a meditation on both spiritual yearning and existential struggle, a composition that resonates deeply with Murakami's characters. The track Resolution embodies a restless urgency, a tension between devotion and despair, much like Toru Watanabe in "Norwegian Wood", caught between the gravity of his past wounds and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. There is a hunger for transcendence, but no clear path to liberation. Murakami's characters exist in this liminal space, unable to retreat into the past yet incapable of stepping forward without hesitation. Coltrane's fervent solos capture this internal conflict, his notes twisting and shifting like the unpredictable trajectories of lives caught between longing and loss.

Bill Evans's "Sunday at the Village Vanguard" carries a delicate, almost weightless grace, yet beneath its fluid elegance lies an ineffable sorrow, a quiet ache of absence. "My Man's Gone Now" is particularly haunting, weaving a sense of loss that is at once understated and deeply visceral, much like the unspoken grief that lingers in Murakami's characters. They seek connection but remain unable to grasp it fully, and it is this elusive longing that Evans's music so poignantly expresses. In "Norwegian Wood", cafés aren't mere places to sip coffee; they are liminal spaces where characters confront themselves, where silence itself becomes a form of confession. Evans's compositions serve as metaphors for these unspoken voids - the spaces between words, between people, between moments that slip away before they can be held.

With its fluidity and improvisational nature, jazz becomes the perfect language for Murakami to render the intricate emotional landscapes of his characters. These free-flowing melodies don't simply reflect the drift of individuals searching for meaning; they evoke a fragile, unfinished kind of release, one that is never fully realized. Jazz, in Murakami's world, is more than music; it is a way of being, a means through which his characters confront and, perhaps, momentarily soothe their wounds. In the stillness of doubt and solitude, Murakami lets jazz rise like an unspoken salvation - wordless, yet reaching into the deepest recesses of the human soul.

Science and Research / Water Reservoir in the Universe
February 23, 2025, 11:29:22 AM

Astronomers found the largest water reservoir in the universe — it holds 140 trillion times the water in Earth's oceans.

The enormous reservoir of water vapor was found near the quasar APM 08279+5255, located over 12 billion light-years away.

This cosmic water supply surrounds a supermassive black hole 20 billion times the mass of our Sun. The quasar, which radiates energy equivalent to a thousand trillion suns, offers a glimpse into the conditions of the early universe.

The discovery highlights the presence of water vapor billions of years ago, suggesting that life's building blocks have existed for much of the universe's history. Ultimately, the region around the quasar is far denser and warmer than typical galactic environments, providing key insights into how galaxies, black holes, and stars formed and evolved.

The men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) extend their gratitude to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for approving the three-year fixed term of the PCG Commandant through the signing of Republic Act (RA) No. 12122, an Act Fixing the Term of Office of the PCG Commandant and for Other Purposes, amending Section 5 of RA No. 9993 or the PCG law on 18 February 2025.

Coastguardians overwhelmingly welcome this fitting recognition of the importance of continuity in ensuring the efficient implementation of plans, programs, and operations in line with the Coast Guard mandate.

The PCG is also extending their gratitude to Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, as well as to all senators and members of the House of Representatives for the passage of said law that will provide stability to the Coast Guard organization.

Senate President Escudero emphasized that fixing the term of the PCG Commandant to three years aligns with the term of office of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff.

It can be recalled that in his sponsorship speech for said measure in 20 January 2025, the Senate President explained that this will give the President the discretion to "allow the current Commandant to continue leading the valiant men and women of the PCG, who have been faced with great adversity in the post-war era and have effectively upheld our sovereignty in our territorial waters."

History / Success Story of Timothy Dexter
February 15, 2025, 10:39:48 AM

Timothy Dexter, often regarded as one of the most eccentric figures in American history, built a fortune through unconventional and seemingly absurd business ventures. Largely uneducated and often ridiculed by his contemporaries, he repeatedly defied expectations by turning what appeared to be foolish decisions into profitable successes. One of the most well-known stories about him involves his decision to send coal to Newcastle, England—a city famous for its vast coal reserves. The phrase "sending coal to Newcastle" has long been used to describe a pointless or redundant task, as Newcastle was one of the world's primary coal-producing regions.

Dexter's decision to ship coal to such a well-supplied market was not entirely his own idea. His rivals and detractors, envious of his wealth and eager to see him fail, deliberately suggested the venture in the hopes that it would ruin him. They believed that no one in Newcastle would need or want imported coal, making it an obvious financial blunder. However, fate had other plans. By sheer luck, Dexter's shipment arrived during a miners' strike, a period when local coal production had come to a halt. The sudden shortage caused coal prices to surge, creating an unexpected demand that allowed Dexter to sell his shipment at a premium. Instead of suffering a major financial loss, he once again walked away with a substantial profit.

This incident was just one of many examples of Dexter's uncanny ability to turn seemingly foolish decisions into extraordinary successes. He frequently engaged in business deals that should have failed, yet circumstances often aligned in his favor, leading many to view him as either a man blessed with incredible luck or someone who possessed an instinctive, if unorthodox, understanding of commerce. His reputation as the "luckiest fool in American history" was further reinforced by similar ventures, including his successful export of warming pans to the Caribbean and stray cats to the West Indies—both of which, against all logic, resulted in financial gains.

Despite his lack of formal education, Dexter amassed a considerable fortune, living in a grand mansion adorned with wooden statues of famous figures, including one of himself inscribed with the title "The Greatest Philosopher in the Western World." He even authored a book, A Pickle for the Knowing Ones, which was notorious for its complete lack of punctuation and coherent structure, yet somehow gained popularity among readers.

Timothy Dexter remains a historical enigma—an unpolished and often ridiculed businessman who, through a combination of luck, audacity, and unconventional thinking, managed to achieve great success. His story serves as a reminder that sometimes, what seems like the worst idea can turn into a stroke of genius under the right circumstances.

History / Derinkuyu Mystery
February 15, 2025, 10:28:05 AM

The Derinkuyu Underground City

A Hidden Metropolis Beneath Turkey

Deep beneath the Cappadocian region of Turkey, an astonishing ancient city known as Derinkuyu lies hidden. This massive underground complex, capable of housing an estimated 20,000 people along with livestock and supplies, is one of the most mysterious archaeological discoveries ever made.

Discovered accidentally in 1963, when a homeowner knocked down a wall in his basement and uncovered a hidden tunnel, Derinkuyu is a labyrinth of rooms, tunnels, staircases, and ventilation shafts. This multi-level city, reaching depths of over 85 meters (280 feet), contains chapels, wineries, schools, and even stables, suggesting it was a fully functioning underground civilization.

The origins of Derinkuyu remain unclear, but historians believe it was originally excavated by the Phrygians or Hittites around 1200 BCE and later expanded during the Byzantine era. Possible reasons for its construction include:

Defense Against Invaders – The city's complex structure, with hidden doors, stone passageways, and security traps, suggests it was built as a fortified refuge against foreign invaders such as Persians, Arabs, and Mongols.

Religious Persecution – Early Christians may have used Derinkuyu as a hiding place to escape Roman and later Islamic persecution.

Climate Control and Storage – The underground city provided a stable, cool environment, ideal for food storage and protection against harsh weather or droughts.

Derinkuyu is just one of several underground cities in the region. Some tunnels are believed to connect it to other underground settlements, forming a vast subterranean network beneath Cappadocia.

The precision and planning required to build Derinkuyu's ventilation systems, water wells, and defensive mechanisms make it one of the most impressive architectural achievements of the ancient world. Despite ongoing studies, the full extent of the underground city remains unknown, with many of its tunnels still unexplored.

Derinkuyu remains one of the most fascinating and mysterious underground cities ever built, raising questions about who created it, how it was used, and how many more undiscovered cities might still be hidden beneath the earth.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the start of the Government meeting:

"As of today, we have achieved great things in the war.

I have just returned from an historic visit in Washington with President Trump and with senior figures in his administration, and with Senate and Congressional leaders.

This visit and the talks that we held with the President of the US included additional considerable achievements that can ensure the security of Israel for generations.

I am not exaggerating. There are opportunities for possibilities that I think we never dreamed of, or at least a few months ago they did not seem possible – but they are possible.

This was a very warm, detailed and purposeful meeting. It covered all of the main issues before us. While we have many achievements behind us, we also have many challenges ahead of us.

President Trump commended all of our achievements, especially the breaking of the Iranian axis.

He was very impressed by our actions. I told him that all of this was due – first of all – to our heroic fighters and the sacrifice of the fighters who have fallen, and also to the steadfastness of our people, and the determined and rational policy that we have led.

We agreed that all of the objectives that we set for the war must be completed: The elimination of Hamas, the return of all of our hostages, ensuring that Gaza never again constitutes a threat to Israel, returning all of the residents in both north and south, and, of course, preventing Iran from attaining nuclear weapons.

President Trump also presented a different vision for 'the day after.' For a full year, we have been told that on the 'day after', the PLO, the Palestinian Authority, needs to be in the Strip.

President Trump came with a completely different vision, much better for the State of Israel, a revolutionary and creative vision, which we are discussing. He is very determined to carry it out. This also opens many possibilities before us.

This visit, about which I will be able to go into more detail in the appropriate forums of course, constitutes a historic turning point for the State of Israel.

At the same time, we will – of course – enforce the ceasefire agreements. This requires us to take action, sometimes to use live fire to enforce them. We are doing so in the south and in the north.

My directive this evening – nobody reaches the perimeter fence or penetrates it.

This is part of the agreement which we will enforce, and will enforce vigorously. We expect Hamas to meet all of its commitments and this is one of them."

✅ Get plenty of rest the night before. Aim for at least 7–9 hours of sleep.

Business and Economy / Top 10 Business Lessons
February 06, 2025, 11:54:25 AM

Ten years of business lessons in one post.

1. You're likely to lose friends.
Going 100mph towards your goals will lose you friends and supporters. But that's okay—you'll find better ones at your destination.

2. Business isn't fair.
You can play fair but don't expect others to follow suit. Some people will not play fair, but they win when their unfairness changes your behavior. If you avoid losing, you also avoid winning.

3. Growth requires growing pains (not joys)
Scaling Gym Launch from $7M to $27M in under 2 years was one of the most painful experiences of my life. Your mind is rarely at peace. And the amount of problems that come up when you scale so quickly is exhausting. Hard times today are us footing the bill for the traits we wish to have tomorrow.

4. Do not mistake a luxury for a requirement.
People use a lack of motivation, vision, and purpose as excuses not to start. Motivation comes from responsibility, not the other way around. Seek responsibility and motivation will take care of itself.

5. No such thing as imposter syndrome.
There's just inexperience, insecurity, and sucking before you're good. When I was 24 I felt like an impostor leading a team of 120 people. Do something a thousand times and tell me if you still feel like an impostor.

6. Success doesn't make you feel better.
My first time scaling Gym Launch, I felt constant anxiety and stress about not being good enough. I kept thinking "Once I hit certain levels of success, the pain will go away." Success doesn't solve these problems—they just sit in a different category.

7. Delegate and reinforce.
When you delegate, you're trading the time spent doing the task for the time it takes to reinforce and reward it. As your business scales, you need to become the Chief Reinforcement Officer. Delegation > Abdication.

8. Titles don't make leaders, actions do.
Look for those who already have followers in your company. Who do people listen to? That's who I've promoted. You don't make someone a leader by giving them a title—you make official what's already happening. You make what's obvious, official.

9. Strategy is saying "no."
You have to say no to 99.9% of opportunities to say yes to what really moves the needle the most. At Gym Launch, we chose to start a supplement company over international expansion. Even though both companies were successful, I'm certain we'd have been 2-3x more successful focusing on expansion.

10. When to do something new?
When you cannot do anything anymore or better, do something new—but be damn sure you've exhausted all options first. Most people underestimate how much juice they can squeeze out of what they're currently doing. If you're not executing at a 10/10, it's likely not your strategy that's the issue.

World Daily News / General Mark Milley Resigns
February 03, 2025, 04:03:43 PM

(Crow Richardson/31 Jan 2025)

Highly-decorated U.S. Army Commanding General Mark A. Milley, who served in many operations, and was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from September 30, 2019, to September 30, 2023, has been removed from service to the White House.

Gen. Milley had considered resignation several times, most notably when Trump had pulled him from an important meeting and used him as an escort to get through the fog of tear gas at the Capital during a protest so that Trump could get his picture taken holding a Bible in front of a church.

Milley's letter of resignation at that time was not handed in, as he tried to continue serving our country as best he could.

Finally, Trump took office a second time, and Milley was removed from office along with many, many others who opposed or voted against Trump.

Milley's own words are as follows :

"The events of the last couple weeks have caused me to do deep soul-searching, and I can no longer faithfully support and execute your orders as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

It is my belief that you were doing great and irreparable harm to my country. I believe that you have made a concerted effort over time to politicize the United States military. I thought that I could change that.

I've come to the realization that I cannot, and I need to step aside and let someone else try to do that.

Second, you are using the military to create fear in the minds of the people—and we are trying to protect the American people.

I cannot stand idly by and participate in that attack, verbally or otherwise, on the American people.

The American people trust their military and they trust us to protect them against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and our military will do just that. We will not turn our back on the American people.

Third, I swore an oath to the Constitution of the United States and embodied within that Constitution is the idea that says that all men and women are created equal.

All men and women are created equal, no matter who you are, whether you are white or Black, Asian, Indian, no matter the color of your skin, no matter if you're gay, straight or something in between.

It doesn't matter if you're Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Jew, or choose not to believe. None of that matters. It doesn't matter what country you came from, what your last name is—what matters is we're Americans.

We're all Americans. What matter is that these colors of red, white, and blue—the colors that my parents fought for in World War II—means something around the world.

It's obvious to me that you don't think of those colors the same way I do. It's obvious to me that you don't hold those values dear and the cause that I serve.

And lastly it is my deeply held belief that you're ruining the international order, and causing significant damage to our country overseas, that was fought for so hard by the Greatest Generation that they instituted in 1945.

Between 1914 and 1945, 150 million people were slaughtered in the conduct of war. They were slaughtered because of tyrannies and dictatorships. That generation, like every generation, has fought against that, has fought against fascism, has fought against Nazism, has fought against extremism.

It's now obvious to me that you don't understand that world order. You don't understand what the war was all about. In fact, you subscribe to many of the principles that we fought against. And I cannot be a party to that.

It is with deep regret that I hereby submit my letter of resignation."

Facts and Trivia / Heaviest Antimatter Particle
January 23, 2025, 08:17:45 PM

The heaviest antimatter particle to date, antihyperhelium-4, has been identified by researchers at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. This exotic particle is the antimatter equivalent of hyperhelium-4 and is composed of two antiprotons, an antineutron, and an antilambda.
The finding clarifies the severe conditions of the early cosmos and the baryon asymmetry problem, which asks why matter predominates in the universe even though matter and antimatter were created equally during the Big Bang. Machine learning was used to examine data from lead-ion collisions, confirming that matter and antimatter are formed equally. Upgrades to the LHC may result in additional advances in the study of antimatter.

Facts and Trivia / Cecilia Payne Should Be Discussed
January 22, 2025, 05:26:15 PM

Since her death in 1979, the woman who discovered what the universe is made of has not so much as received a memorial plaque. Her newspaper obituaries do not mention her greatest discovery. [...] Every high school student knows that Isaac Newton discovered gravity, that Charles Darwin discovered evolution, and that Albert Einstein discovered the relativity of time. But when it comes to the compostion of our universe, the textbooks simply say that the most abundant atom in the universe is hydrogen. And no one ever wonders how we know."
—
Jeremy Knowles, discusses the complete lack of recognition Cecilia Payne gets, even today, for her revolutionary discovery. (via alliterate)
OH WAIT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT CECILIA PAYNE.
Cecilia Payne's mother refusd to spend money on her college education, so she won a scholarship to Cambridge.
Cecilia Payne completed her studies, but Cambridge wouldn't give her a degree because at that time there was not much exposure for women, so she said to heck with that and moved to the United States to work at Harvard.
Cecilia Payne was the first person ever to earn a Ph.D. in astronomy from Radcliffe College, with what Otto Strauve called "the most brilliant Ph.D. thesis ever written in astronomy."
Not only did Cecilia Payne discover what the universe is made of, she also discovered what the sun is made of (Henry Norris Russell, a fellow astronomr, is usually given credit for discovering that the sun's composition is different from the Earth's, but he came to his conclusions four years later than Payne—after telling her not to publish).
Cecilia Payne is the reason we know basically anything about variable stars (stars whose brightness as seen from earth fluctuates). Literally every other study on variable stars is based on her work.
Cecilia Payne was the first woman to be promoted to full professor from within Harvard, and is often credited with breaking the glass ceiling for women in the Harvard science department and in astronomy, as well as inspiring entire generatons of women to take up science.
Cecilia Payne is awesome and everyone should know her.
