Philippine Showcase / Re: Miss Na Miss Kita
March 27, 2008, 03:26:22 AM
Sa aking pag-iisa
Pangarap ka sa tuwina
Lagi kang nasa isip, sinta

Maging sa pagtulog ko
Ikaw ang nakikita
Nais kong makapiling kita

CHORUS
O, giliw ko, miss na miss kita
Sana'y lagi kitang kasama
O, giliw ko, miss na miss kita
Gusto ko sana'y makayakap ka

'Pag kita'y kapiling
Nasa langit, sinta
'Di matapos yaring ligaya

'Pag hindi nakita
Ay nalulungkot na
'Di ko kaya ang nag-iisa

(Repeat CHORUS)

Sa aking pag-iisa
Pangarap ka sa tuwina
Lagi kang nasa isip, sinta

Sana'y narito ka
At makapiling na
Nang hindi na nalulungkot pa

These are the models the Philippine Air Force is considering in acquiring in a 15 year modernization plan.

JAS C/D Gripen Tactical Air Fighter

F-16 C,ADF Class Tactical Offensive Fighter

F/A-18 Super Hornet All-Purpose Fighter

#47005
The Air Wing of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is currently a shell of its former self.
The Air Force has officially mothballed the F-5 Tiger IIs and is no longer in operation, the only offensive and tactical defensive air fighter we had to defend the country from any sort of foreign air attack has been cut off. The only operable and liable air fighters in operation are the Aermacchi S-211s. The Philippine Air Force has 4 squadrons of these fighters, however, these fighters were built for the purposes of training pilots, and were not built for the defense of an entire nation. The Philippine Air Force has attached AIM sidewinder missiles and 30mm air cannons to these fighters.

Currently, the Philippine Air Force is looking at viable models to replace the mothballed and long-standing F-5 Tiger II fighters. So far the JAS Gripen, F-16C and the F/A-18 Superhornet have been the top choices, with PAF officials looking into the Rusisan Sukhoi 27 and the Rafale Fighters.

I personally think that there should be less talk and more action. The Philippines cannot afford to be 'jet-less'; our nation of 90+ million people and such a large GNP should be operating dozens of air squadrons, not searching for models to acquire.

What are your views?

Greetings Mr. Ayag,

I will definitely contact Dr. Escota as soon as I have the chance. Congratulations to him getting into a residency in Chicago, no doubt, it is a great hospital site. Mr. Ayag, I will probably see him soon as we do most of our clinical rotations in Family Medicine and General Surgery in the Ohio region, mostly in teaching hospitals in Chicago. When I begin my clinical rotations, I will definitely try to get in contact with Dr. Escota, maybe have coffee with him.

I am greatly thankful for all your help, Mr. Ayag,

Ah thats not good. Excessive drinking and smoking is never healthy, there are other ways to deal with stress instead of smoking and drinking. I know its easier to say than to act on it, but there are other options. For one, working out as in jogging and weight lifting. Working out constantly as in once a day or at least 3 times a week is an effective way to reduce stress and also strengthen the cardiovascular and thoracic; it gives a healthy and natural 'high'. The central nervous system gives of endorphins a.k.a natural stimulants to those who partake in physical activity, the more you work out, the higher the endorphin excretion. Healthier pa in that it is a healthy 'addiction' as aside from the man-made addictions of smoking and drinking, which not only causes massive damage to the neural system. But also damages the endocrinal visceris: liver damage, dieuretic activity, H2O imbalance/dehydration. As well as debilitate the respiratory: massive tar contaminants in the alveoli of the lungs, and nicotine shoots. Who really wants mucal activity? Who wants to cough that out on a regular basis? And the smell is rather ghastly. IMHO

Everything should be in moderation.

Dealing with a panic attack during an interview:

A fellow medical student that interviewed in the same time as I did had this happen to her, but she reacted immediately and utilized damage control. This is what she did.

Diaphragmatic breathing, think positive, take deep breaths, and ask the councilors to be excused for a bathroom break. It worked, its best to think of something else whenever an attack happens.

Thats a good quality you have, Kiams, in that you are able to stay focused and patient despite the hassles of the profession you are in. I have friends who graduated last year and are Financial Analysts working in the Boston area. My former room mate of 2 years works in Prudential Life and says the work is extreme, he's part of a group of 4 people and are responsible for preparing hundreds of client info, economic history and the like, and file it every week. Its insane the amount of hours they work, though its slightly a different field you work in, nonetheless I can't even begin to imagine how stressed you guys must be. I know that he works crazy hours as well and has been drinking alot because of it, which I'm quite concerned because  he never drank that much whenever he was still in college.

Keep up your work ethic, I admire that about individuals.

Being accepted to 8 so medical schools and applied to 14 of them, the following are top 10 questions asked by Admissions Councilors;

1. Who are you? and why medical school?

2. How would a friend describe you?

3. Why do you want to be a doctor?

4. List three things you want me to know about you.

5. Why should we accept you?

6. Do you understand what the life of a doctor entails?

7. What other careers have you explored?

8. Would you consider a foreign medical school?

9. What do you want to specialize in?

10. What do you hope to get out of medicine?

Personal Remark: Out of the person-to-person interviews, phone interviews, I must say that the admissions staff take into consideration your posture, your voice, your confidence level, and most importantly the way you speak in terms of clarity. They like to ask very vague questions as a way to see inside you and who you are, the way you compose an answer. It gets a bit strenuous at times, one interview I had was over 2 hours long and we actually had a break in between, allowing me to eat with the admissions staff and asked me personal questions as in religion, ethics, culture. My advice to prospective students intending to apply to medical school is: relax, be calm, and trust in yourself. If you panic, just take a deep breath, and go on. If you stumble on a question or a remark, take it in, and proceed with the next one. These guys like to see how you carry yourself despite a mistake and how you rectify a mistake.
And take your time, don't rush just because you think they are rushing. They test you on this.

Cheers and good luck, fellow collegues.

Truly Yours,
A. Lorenzo Lucino Jr.

World Daily News / Antarctic shelf 'hangs by thread'
March 26, 2008, 02:38:00 PM

A chunk of ice the size of the Isle of Man has started to break away from Antarctica in what scientists say is further evidence of a warming climate.

Yahoo news-
Satellite images suggest that part of the ice shelf is disintegrating, and will soon crumble away.

The Wilkins Ice Shelf has been stable for most of the last century, but began retreating in the 1990s.

Six ice shelves in the same part of the continent have already been lost, says the British Antarctic Survey (BAS).

Professor David Vaughan of BAS said: "Wilkins is the largest ice shelf on the Antarctic Peninsula yet to be threatened.

"I didn't expect to see things happen this quickly. The ice shelf is hanging by a thread - we'll know in the next few days or weeks what its fate will be."

'Like an explosion'

BAS researchers were alerted to the break-up by daily monitoring of satellite images. They sent a Twin Otter aircraft on a reconnaissance mission to video what was happening.

Jim Elliott, who was on board the plane, said he had never seen anything like it before.

He said: "We flew along the main crack and observed the sheer scale of movement from the breakage.

"Big hefty chunks of ice, the size of small houses, look as though they've been thrown around like rubble - it's like an explosion."

A 41-by-2.5km (25-by-1.6 mile) berg appears to be breaking away, with much of the Wilkins Ice Shelf protected only by a thin strip of ice spanning two islands.

Since an ice shelf is a floating platform of ice, the break-up will have no impact on sea level. But scientists say it heightens concerns over the impact of climate change on this part of Antarctica.

'Unprecedented' warming

Professor Vaughan predicted in 1993 that the northern part of the Wilkins Ice Shelf would be lost within 30 years if climate warming continued. But he said it is happening more quickly than he expected.

He told BBC News: "What we're actually seeing is a chunk of the ice shelf drop off in a way that suggests it is not just a normal part of iceberg formation.

"This is not a sea level rise issue, but is yet another indication of climate change in the Antarctic Peninsula and how it is affecting the environment."

Scientists say the Antarctic Peninsula, which juts out into the Southern Ocean towards the tip of South America, has experienced unprecedented warming over the last 50 years.

Several ice shelves have retreated in the past 30 years - six of them collapsing completely.

Other researchers believe the Wilkins Ice Shelf may hang on a little longer, as Antarctica's summer melt season draws to a close.

Dr Ted Scambos of the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado said: "This unusual show is over for this season. But come January, we'll be watching to see if the Wilkins continues to fall apart."

World Daily News / Tata to announce Jaguar purchase
March 26, 2008, 02:36:35 PM
DETROIT (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co (F.N) is due to announce its agreement to sell its luxury brands Jaguar and Land Rover to India's Tata Motors Ltd (TAMO.BO) for about $2 billion on Wednesday, the Financial Times said on Monday.

The sale will include a pledge by Ford to contribute to the pension fund for workers at Jaguar and Land Rover and a commitment by Tata to continue buying engines from Ford, the Financial Times said in the story posted on its Web site.

A spokesman for Ford Europe was not immediately available. A Tata representative could not be immediately reached.

Sources close to the deal told Reuters last week that Ford was expected to announce the sale of the British luxury brands this week, just ahead of Ford's target of closing the deal by the end of the first quarter.

Tata is launching a $3 billion syndicated loan to fund its purchase of the Jaguar and Land Rover.

Ford, which lost $2.7 billion in 2007 and $12.6 billion in 2006, is spinning off Jaguar and Land Rover to focus on turning around its loss-making operations in North America.

Ford acquired Land Rover from German carmaker BMW in 2000. It bought Jaguar in 1989. Ford spun off Aston Martin for $925 million last March as it began to disband its stable of European luxury brands.

World Daily News / Unrest spreads around Shia Iraq
March 26, 2008, 02:34:12 PM
At least 30 people have been killed since Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki vowed on a visit to the southern oil city to "re-impose law".

Unrest in Basra has been stoked by a variety of militias and criminal gangs.

But the government's unspoken intent is to stop it falling under the sway of the Mehdi Army, a BBC analyst says.

Its leader, the radical young cleric Moqtada Sadr, has called on his followers to start a campaign of civil disobedience across the country.

Three Iraqi army brigades have been sent from Baghdad to Basra and up to 15,000 troops could be involved.

Some of the fiercest fighting in the operation dubbed Charge of the Knights has focused on Mehdi Army strongholds.

Police curfews have been imposed in Basra, Kut, Samawa, Nasiriyah, Hilla and Diwaniyah.

Columns of smoke hung across Basra and coalition jets prowled the skies on Tuesday.
Security forces kept journalists away from areas where heavy fighting appeared to be under way and correspondents say it was unclear by nightfall who had the upper hand.

Col Karim al-Zaidi, a spokesman for the Iraq military, was quoted by The Associated Press as saying security forces had met stiff resistance from Mehdi Army gunmen in the city centre.

Reuters Television pictures showed gunmen firing mortars in the street while others, the agency said, drove around in captured Iraqi army and police vehicles.

In Baghdad, rockets hit the Green Zone but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

US and Iraqi troops sealed off Baghdad's Sadr City as fighting raged inside.

The Basra operation is being personally led by Mr Maliki, a fact hailed by Washington.

"Prime Minister Maliki made a brave decision to go into a very difficult situation where you have terrorists and insurgents that have infested the area, and he's taken his forces down there and are working with them," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino.

The operation, she insisted, was "Iraqi-led and Iraqi-initiated".

High-risk strategy

The crackdown in Basra is fraught with political significance, writes the BBC Middle East analyst Roger Hardy.

Sadrists are convinced it is an attempt to weaken them ahead of provincial elections due in October - elections they are confident will strengthen their grip on the south.

Mr Maliki has embarked on a highly risky strategy, our analyst notes.

For one thing, it is far from clear that it will succeed.

The Sadrist movement enjoys widespread support, especially among the young and the poor, and is well entrenched in Basra and many other predominantly Shia towns and cities in the south.

For another, if the ceasefire which the Sadrists have largely followed since last summer were to collapse, that would seriously undermine claims by the government - and by the Bush administration in Washington - that Iraq had somehow turned a corner and was moving from civil war to political reconciliation.

World Daily News / Massive blast at Dubai warehouse
March 26, 2008, 02:33:14 PM
It is unclear what caused the blast at around 0700 (0300 GMT) in the al-Quoz Industrial Area, which is home to hundreds of businesses and factories.

Television footage showed a fireball shooting 100m into the sky, followed by a huge plume of smoke and ash.

Around a dozen fire engines and ambulances have been sent to the scene.

All routes towards the area have been closed off, causing a major traffic jam along Sheikh Zayed Road, which links Dubai with Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

March 26, 2008, 02:05:15 PM

The Orthodox Cathedral of Kiev. This was built in the 18th century by the Russian Czar to commemorate the brotherhood of Ukrainians and Russians. It was built by the hands of Ukrainians, and Russian overseers. Inside this cathedral is pure gold, and sapphire, and diamonds. It was untouched during the German Invasion of Ukraine.
Despite the Nazi cruelty towards Soviet forces and hatred towards the Jews, the Germans did not touch the christian churches and cathedrals of Ukraine. On the contrary, German soldiers would go inside the churches to pray.

Same church, different view

Same church, different view. If you look closely at the front of the church, you can see the emblem of the Russian Czar. The gold trimmings on the church is pure gold, and is original. It is almost 300 years old.

Saint-Sophia Grande Cathedral.
This cathedral is over 1000 years old, it was built originally in the 11th century and designed in Byzantine styles. In the 14th century when the Mongols-Tatars invaded Kievan Russ, the city was ransacked and damaged by the Mongol forces. Mongols ravaged the city of Kiev, killing and taking Ukrainians as slaves back to the flat plains of Mongolia. When the Mongols stormed the city, thousands of Ukrainians went inside the Saint-Sophia Cathedral and prayed for the intercession of St. Gabriel, St. Michael to save them. The Mongols did not go inside the church, nor did they touch or harm those inside it. It was declared a miracle by those inside, and to this day, there are icons and paintings inside the building of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, who saved the Church.

This same cathedral has survived 1000 years of invasions, wars, from Mongols, Russian, French, Soviet, German. Yet it still stands. And hundreds of faithful still go inside to pray and worship the Lord. I was here and visited it myself when I was in Ukraine 2  years ago. It is huge and expansive. And you can feel the serenity inside. There are Ukrainian Monks inside that chant and sing in Orthodox hymns, it is very beautiful and soothing.

St. Sophia Cathedral; diff view

Inside the Cathedral; this is before the Thesiolinisis, the commemoration of the Saints.
These paintings and holy works are original, and were brought to the Cathedral by Byzantine Priests and Monks in the 11th century; 1000 years ago.

Original Works,

Interior Hall, there are saints all over, and on top of the Dome of the Church, if you look up, is a painting of God the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Below Him are the ArchAngels, and the Angels and then the Saints.

The icon of St. Gabriel the Archangel who is said to have Saved the faithful inside St. Sophia Cathedral. It is said that The Wings of the Archangel covered the Cathedral during the Mongol War. And the Mongols, who were pagan, did not dare go inside the church. Something kept them away. To this day, the faithful Orthodox christians, the priests and monks do adorations and venerations of St. Gabriel and Michael for their intervention in the name of God. This church has been unhamred for 1000 years, which many consider a miracle on its own right. I believe so too.

Statues to Yarislav the Great,
The First Christian King of Kievan Russ (The first Russian Kingdom), Russia traces back its ethnic and cultural origin to present day Kiev, Ukraine.

Ethnic Dance

Victory Statue of the Great German War, the statue was constructed during the time of the Soviet Union.
The USSR built this statue in present day Kiev, Ukraine to commemorate the 40th year anniversary of the Soviet Victory over Nazi Germany. Millions of Russians and Ukrainians were killed by the Nazis during the war, and the Ukrainian Jews were practically liquidated. Before the War, there were almost 5 million jews in Ukraine, after the war, there were several thousands. This Statue is Important to not only to Ukrainian, but Russian History.

Ukrainian Cossack War Hero

Ukrainian Parliamentary Building,
This building used to be the chancellory of the Soviet Ukrainian Premier during the Soviet Era.
If you look closely at the top of the pillars, notice the carved flags, in between the flags stands the current Ukrainian emblem of state, before the collapse of the USSR, there used to be a hammer and sickle where the present emblem is. The design of this building is absolutely Soviet in style. Inside its halls is massive space, you can still feel the power of the USSR inside, 17 years after its collapse.

Philippine Education / Re: The Equation Game
March 26, 2008, 12:58:35 PM
For me, this is a favorite equation only because its been pivotal for my research, a popular equation found in biostatistics, its called Linear extrapolation :

Y (Xn) = Yk-1 +  ( Xn-Xk-1/ Xk-Xk-1) (Yk-Yk-1)

Linear extrapolation means creating a tangent line at the end of the known data and extending it beyond that limit. Linear extrapolation will only provide good results when used to extend the graph of an approximately linear function or not too far beyond the known data; when involving multiple factors, one can go into polynomial extrapolation and my other favorite (somewhat) conic extrapolation.

Who knew math would be so necessary in bioinformatics and medical science? lol
Everything is inter-related.

The great man that was known to the world at his time as Pharaoh Ramses II, a man who deigned himself a God, claimed to be the reincarnation of the Sun God, Ra. Ramses II, like the pharaohs before him and after him referred himself to the Divine Royal 'We', it was rule and law to pray to him, make sacrifices to his image, and revere him as an Almighty God, Lord of Life, and Lord of Death. The priests in their writ of texts in the books of Ra, books of Anubis, book of Set, declared Pharaoh to be purely Divine.

Ramses II the Great is known to us in the bible and in the histories written and recorded in ancient Helas (Greece), Assyria, and Hittites. Ramses II enslaved thousands, jews, canaanites, nubians, ethiopians, hittites, assyrians, babylonians. He was revered by his people as a God. However, in egyptology, during the mid late half of his reign, there is a large 20 year gap that was stricken from the histories. As if Ramses II willed the events that occured in that 20 year time span to be forever forgotten. Something happened so as to embarass the so called God-King, that he would not have history record it.

However, despite his so called Divine Will, it was recorded. By the mouths and stories of the Hebrews. Ramses II the Great Lion of Egypt, was the same man who was stricken by the plagues by the prophet Moses under orders of the One True God. He is the same man who lost his first born son and heir to his thrown. The same man who lost his entire army to the mouths of the Red Sea.

A statue of Pharaoh Ramses II the Great

His Temples to Himself,
It ushers, "I am the God-King, Ramses II"

BUT, alas, thou didst Die.
Why Does a so called 'God' King die?

The remains of Ramses II, who declared to the world himself a God,
Yet he remains in his crypt, Dead.
Humbled in death,

O Ramses II the Great, thou were great in life, thy hands destroyed nations, enslaved millions of lives,
Yet, Thou wert Humbled by thy overbearing Pride,
Claiming Yourself a God, deigning yourself Divine by Right,
Nay, thou were not a God, nor was thou Divine,
But a Man, a mere Man, Dust, And so thou returneth to Dust,

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days  They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.  And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.  And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God. Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.  But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.  And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die. 29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

Kiams, what is the synopsis of Angels and Demons? I've always wanted to read that but didn't have the stomach to open something like that. The closest angelic-demon war book that I've read was 'Paradise Lost'  and it gives an almost sympathetic view of Lucifer as a rebel, a thinker and a 'freedom fighter'. John Milton casts God as an absolute monarch, unyielding, and unmerciful and Lucifer as a revolutionary thinker so to say. The Angelic hordes of heaven were portrayed as mindless drones and Milton illustrates the demons that followed Lucifer as present day freedom fighters fighting for a common cause. Its a book that makes you think, and tries to portray an antithesis of the the collective's view on the devil and his demons. It questions why it was deigned to be so (referring to the angelic war in heaven). The question arises in my head is : WHY?

hahaha don't you dare! (referring to HP books) lolz!
I admit that I'm a pseudo-addict of HP books, however, I reserve the flag of 'best books' to Tolkien works. My favorite book of ALL time would have to be 'The Hobbit'. Secondary favorites are the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the legendary The Silmarillion. After reading Lord of the Rings and re-reading the Hobbit I became addicted to monograms and the language of the elves, the history of the dwarves, and my favorite character of all time is Thorin Oakenshield, the proud and resilient 'King Under the Mountain' and yes, his death was a beautiful death. A proud death that any king would have wanted, mourned by his subjects, and dying content after wiping out the goblin and orcian army after Smog's demise. I can still remember certain dwarvian and elven verses, and songs, lol.

Pray may I ask, do you ever engage in fantasy, science fiction genre?

hahahahahah! are you serious? lol, I used to read that book over and over again because I was touched by the almost romantic ending, despite the betrayal of Holden's english teacher. You know, I was so angry at him for taking advantage of Holden during his time of need that I actually displayed an animosity towards my own English teacher at the time of my 2nd year in high school. Wow it seems that I'm talking to a novelisma diay? So what are your favorite novels of all time diay? Maybe you can recommend great ones to us fellow readers as well.

Cheers and keep on reading,

Poems and Poets / A Crush
March 26, 2008, 12:01:09 AM
Para tu, mi amor

How do I tell you exactly how I feel
Would you believe me when I say its for real
Or would you walk away from me
Without even trying to seeI've felt like this for a while now
But I never told you, I don't know how
It's very hard for me to explain
But you always stopped me from going insane
For me you have always been there
You were the only person that would care
But my love for you continues to hide
My friend, without you I would have died
I'm afraid you won't feel the same
And you'll think its some game
But its not, this isn't from my head
It's from the heart, not some book I read
I like you more than just a friend
But you probably wouldn't understand
That's why I haven't told you about this feeling
Rejection is what I'm afraid it will bring
So I continue to have this "secret crush"
I want to tell you but the voices say to hush
So I keep it deep down in my heart
Afraid of everything falling apart

For women, what part of the man's body are you attracted to?

How do you know you're getting older?

For me, when I wake up in the morning go to the bathroom and realize that I have a beard.
Even if I shave it one day, it grows back in 2-3 days time.

In high school, I was the loner type and would hang out with only a select few people. I was part of the 'jock' group, as I played football, part of the track team (javelin, discuss, and weight balls). Sports events were very competitive and some of the players would usher insulting things to each other; I was on the receiving end of most of these comments due to the competition. Especially during football season in my freshman, sophomore and junior years of high school. I would absorb the comments and insults by teammates and by some of the assistant coaches, never showing my negative response to it, but it did hurt. I would store it inside, until one time I had an argument with another player during practice (this person was the one I didn't get along with, he was a linebacker and I was a defensive noseguard). All I could remember was he said something and threw the football at me in spite even tho I did nothing to him and I unleashed my anger outright on him. I tackled him and rammed my helmet deep into his abdomen; the coaching staff and other players had to get me off of him. His entire face was bloodied because of it and his chest pad actually cracked due to the force of impact.

So yea, its not healthy at all to keep things boggled inside. Because when it does come out, its not very pleasant.

However, in my case with the incident in the football field, I don't feel bad about it. As the saying goes, don't start a fight when you don't intend to end it.

Learn English Online / Re: Work of Art
March 25, 2008, 02:23:30 PM
Men and women are two pieces that are meant to be combined. The other compliments the other. This is where the concept of 'soul mate', 'other half' comes into play.

If there is a woman who is very quiet, there is a loud man in the world ready to commit to her.
If there is a man who is tall yet is looking for a short woman, there is a short woman in the world who is looking for a tall man.
If there is a European woman who is looking for an Asian man, there is an Asian man in the world who also is looking for a European girl.

What makes art beautiful is that its based on personal and individual interpretation.
So like art, women and men, are beautiful to other people's eyes.

Keep on smiling.

Ah, the so called mask.

Yes, I used to do that, until the pain and frustration was too much. Its very unhealthy, Kiams. But that is just my point of view and honest opinion. Its good to let it out or talk about it to a trusted friend.

For me, I talk to my priest about things, that or I church visit at night, and release everything to God.

Talking about it helps.

haha, the smell is very powerful at first, but you get used to it.

There is a little indian restaurant close to campus and they make really good chicken tikka, and masala. Ive befriended the local chef, he taught me basic Hindi in that I say 'Namaste' to him whenever I stop over, and he replies with, "Kumusta pare" (i taught him that, lol).

Indians, specially sri lankans are very good people. Hard working, and their food reflects their character. spicy and strong ;)

Bible Study / Prayer for the Unborn
March 25, 2008, 11:41:50 AM
All life is precious, all life that is conceived is precious, and a gift from the Father.
The Unborn, most especially. Who are in total dependence of their mother.

Lord, We Pray for the unborn babies whose lives have been silenced, and denied the breath of life.

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.

I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.

I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
Today I commit myself
Never to be silent,
Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.

I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement,
And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
Not just for some, but for all.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen
