Sa imbestigasyon sa kapolisan nasayran nga ang biktima nagduwa og hantak sa maong lugar uban ang pipila ka higala ug silingan dihang kalit nga miabot ang suspek ug gipusil ang luyong bahin sa ulo sa biktima.

Daling gidala sa Cebu City Medical Center ang biktima samtang ang mamumuno dali usab nga misibat human sa panghitabo apan giingong nakabsan kini sa kinabuhi paglabay sa pipila ka gutlo.

Sa pakighinabi sa The Freeman ang igsuong pamantalaan sa Banat News kang PO3 Geoffrey Gutual, sa Cebu City Police Office, Homicide Section nga sa gihimong followup operations nailhan nila ang suspek nga mao si Alfredo “Elyong” Gagoni Jr.

CEBU, Philippines - Mihuboy ang nawong sa polis dihang nasabak kini sa bato gikan sa wala hiilhing kriminal samtang nagpatrolya siya uban sa kaubang polis didto sa Cebu South Coastal Road, habig sa barangay San Roque, dakbayan sa Talisay niadtong Biyernes sa gabii.

Ang biktima mao si PO2 Gerson Antiampo, 33, nadestino sa Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO).

Sa blotter sa Talisay City Police Station nasayran nga si Antiampo maoy nagmaneho sa patrol car nga nagtangag sa plakang SG-408 ug kauban niya sa maong higayon si Inspector Wilfredo Giducos.

Ang duha paingon nga mo -inspection  sa Talisay City Police Office (TCPO) ug sa uban pang lugar sa siyudad.

Apan pag-abot nila duol na sa San Roque, kalit lang mitugpa ang bato sa walang aping sa biktima gikan sa wala hiiling tawo nga namato kanila.

Bisan kun mihuboy ang nawong sa biktima gianinaw pa nila ang lugar apan wala sila makakita og tawo nga kapasanginlang namato kanila.

Gituohan sa kapolisan sa Talisay nga posibleng mga estambay sa maong lugar ang namaregla og bato ug nataymingan lang ang biktima.

Usa ka babaye ang gidunggab ug gikawatan sa iya mismong uyab didto sa Calinan, siyudad sa Davao.

Nahitabo ang insidente alas 9:00 sa gabii niadtong Biyernes.

Samdan sa dughan ug tiil ang biktimang si Rorelyn Gatchalian Ekling, 31, buwag sa asawa ug taga Purok 2, Barangay Biao Joaquin, Calinan hinungdan nga gidala sa balay tambalanan.

Samtang ang suspek nga misibat giila nga si Federico Angkol, 30.

Gitangag sa suspek ang duha ka mga cellphone sa biktima lakip na ang iyang kita sa sari-sari store.

Sa imbestigasyon nga gilusad ni Police Officer 1 Joanna Lomotos sa Calinan Police Station, nasayran nga naglalis ang mag-uyab tungod sa selos nga miresulta sa pagpanunggab sa suspek.

Dali siyang gidala sa Isaac Robillo Hospital sa Calinan apan gibalhin dayon sa Southern Philippines Medical Center kung diin padayon pang gi-obserbahan sa mga doktor ang iyang kahimtang.

Gipangita na sa kapulisan sa Calinan Police Station ang suspek aron nga manubag sa iyang gibuhat sa iyang uyab. --Gipatik sa mantalaang SuperBalita Davao Enero 22, 2012.

Saying the Internet has become a vital tool in the free sharing of ideas, a human rights group on Sunday said the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) bills of the US pose a threat to the exercise of the right to freedom of speech.

A group of Filipino human rights defenders and bloggers also said the SOPA and the PIPA, if approved by the US Congress, could jeopardize the promotion and protection of human rights in the Philippines.

Earlier reports said that due to international pressure, the US backed down on the two anti-piracy bills.

In a statement, the Human Rights Online Philippines (HROnlinePH) said, "we use Internet as a platform in the promotion and protection of human rights in the Philippines. Limitations on this vital tool would jeopardize our work."

A report on GMA News Online said "These two pieces of legislation, both of which supposedly aim to protect intellectual property rights, have far-reaching implications on the Internet as we know it â€"potentially affecting the Philippines' 30 million web users, or one out of every five Pinoys."

Meanwhile, HROnlinePH admitted that freedom of expression in its line of work can be restricted in “very exceptional cases” such as expressions involving child pornography, violence against women, incitement to genocide, among others.

“Any attempt to restrict Internet access for reasons such as online piracy must be established by law that is in accordance with international human rights standards and must pursue legitimate grounds for restriction as set out in article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)," the group said.

Every State must ensure that everyone enjoys their right to freedom of opinion and expression by maintaining free flow of information on the Internet, and ensuring that the Internet is available, accessible and affordable to all, it added.

Moreover, HROnlinePH said the two bills would make the US one of the worst Internet censors in the world joining China and Iran.

"These governments [China and Iran] are using increasing sophisticated technologies and tactics which are often hidden from the public to censor online content and monitor and identify individuals who disseminate critical information about the government and engage in political activities critical to state affairs, which more often than not lead to arbitrary arrests and detention of individuals," it said. â€" Jerbert Briola /LBG, GMA News

MADRID (AP) â€" A flaming-horned bull trampled and fatally gored a man early Saturday during a festival in eastern Spain, an official said.

Large balls of flaming wax are traditionally affixed to the beasts' heads before they are let loose to rampage through squares and narrow streets in such festivals.

The mayor of Navajas, population 730, said emergency services in his town were unable to save the life of the 45-year-old man whose name was withheld. Jose Vicente Torres said the accident happened when the man, who had traveled from Alboraia, about 70 kilometers (45 miles) to the south, tripped just as the bull was released.

Torres said the bull charged the man, gored him and then stamped on his head, causing him "irreversible injuries." He said he had offered his condolences to the man's family, but would not cancel similar events scheduled for early Sunday.

"Although ours is a small town, many people from outside come to visit our feast dedicated to Saint Anton," Torres said, adding that black bows had been tied to town hall flags as a mark of respect and mourning.

Many towns in east and northeastern Spain celebrate feasts with "toros embolados," or "flaming bulls," which feature the animals racing around and shaking their heads as a reaction to flames or fireworks attached to or close to their horns. At these regional festivals, flaming-horned bulls are taunted and teased by rowdy crowds in bullrings, town squares or down streets. Unlike with most other events involving bulls, the animals aren't killed in the end.

The regional parliament of northeastern Catalonia banned bullfighting in July 2010 following a signature-collection campaign by animal rights activists. The ban took effect Jan. 1. But the region then passed other legislation protecting flaming bulls, called "correbous" in the Catalan language. Many critics said banning one act while enshrining the other in law was hypocrisy.
