Corella - Bohol / Re: Need for inventory of tarsiers
November 17, 2008, 12:25:29 PM
When I had a vacation last April 2008 in Canangcaan ,the adjoining barangay of the
Tarsier Foundation, I saw tarsiers in the forest near my ancestral home.  My sister
said that they escaped came from the tarsier foundation because they were congested
in their limited habitat. This means that the breeding is so successful that these aninals
in not anymore extinct now in Corella or in the province of Bohol. DENR allowed these
animals to be brought to other towns.

Since these animals  are  now common in our place why can't  we  catch it for pet. Some
people in our place know how to breed the tarsiers. They are feed on insects and any
crawling animals on trunk of trees.

Layman, you are excellent in Math.
I will share my solution.

1)   x  + Y = 108         ( multiply this by 4)
     4x + 2y= 300

     subtract
2) 4x  + 4y = 432
     4x + 2y = 300
_______________
     0      2y = 132

               y = 132 divided 2

                y= 66

               x  + y = 108

               x + 66 = 108

                y = 108-66

                y= 42

     42 pigs and 66 chickens

101011011 can be divided by 3, why? because the sum of the digits is 6 divisible by 3.

Rule says,  a number is divisible by 3 if the sum of the digits is divisible by 3.
A number with so many digits if the sum of the digits is divisible by 3 , the
number itself is divisible by 3.

Simple Math facts.

Even number x even number = even number        6 x 8= 48
Odd number x odd number = Odd number             7 x 3= 21
Odd number x even number =even number           7 x 4 =28

Try if it is true with division.

Check if I'm correct.

370=1320

Let  x  + 370 =1320
x = 1320-370
x = 950

950 + 370 = 1320

Ube Jelaya: This one’s fried!
May 28, 2008
Ube Jelaya. What’s the fuzz, I asked myself when offered a serving at the Star Café of Kabayan Hotel Pasay.

Fried and wrapped it came on the table! And like with any other food offered to me, this fried ube jelaya (jam) may be worth the experience.

One spoonful of this vibrant purple jam that landed on my excited taste buds was enough to evoke thoughts on how this yam that thrives across Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, was cooked. Jane Andres of Kabayan Hotel Pasay ( my host) and I started recalling in a jiffy how town and barrio folks cooked it over medium-low flame with constant “arm-numbing stirring.” Family members would even take turns stirring the cooked ube mixture and the smell of firewood, that made it exotic, used to be evident in the jelaya. With all the cups of milk and sugar that are blended with the cooked ube, it is certainly a NO-NO food to diet conscious denizens. Surely, a spoonful wouldn’t hurt but with macapuno, it’s another story. And these were not among our meeting’s real agenda!

Anyway, there may be myriad ways, based on one’s culture, on how to deal with the manner of cooking or preparing this ube jelaya. What touched my palate is a recipe from Quezon province.  Fried or simply painstakingly stirred for an hour or more until the pasty consistency is achieved, the ube jelaya is meant to be a star among our own Pinoy desserts.

This is a one hectare farm planted with grafted mangoes in 1999. After 6 years ,
it started bearing fruits. Using the modern technology of farming, we used chemicals
to hasten the blooming of fruits, fungicides , insecticide and foliar fertilizers. Pests
can be controlled but the number one enemy in mango  production is successive
rain during pollination stage. The pollen grains are washed out and only few are
left to become fruits.

Mango fruit production is one of the fast growing bussiness in Digos City, Davao

Bohol Directory / Ube, the Sacred Food of the Boholanos

Ube, the Sacred Food of the Boholanos
     by fdaray

Ube is one of the tubers or yam that grows abundantly and harvested in December in
Bohol. After the harvest, the rootcrops are inspected and those with bolo cuts and
bruises were used first for food as substitute for rice and corn. The rest are stored for
family consumption anytime during the year. Ubi planting goes back in June. There are
many varities of ube like kabus-ok, tam-isan, kabawoy, liko , binanag and the famous
purple-violet kinampay, the king of ube.

Ube is the main staple rootcrops of the Boholanos and venerated as sacred crop since
the ancient times.   During a famine that happened   long befor the coming  of the
Spaniards, it is said that the ube was the only crop grew in Bohol and saved the people
from extreme hunger and death. That is why they had a great respect for it and why it
is the only staple food mentioned in the Bohol Hym. At this time, the  Boholanos started
to honor by having  an Ube Festival in January. They had  also the Miss Ube Beauty
Pageant. You can see displays of different ube varities with different sizes and an award
is given to the biggest ube.

Tagged as one of the countrys' five crops for export by the Department of Trade and
Industry, the demand of ube continues to grow. Here and abroad, it is being marketed
in powdered form, puree, dried chips, cubes, syrup and for ice cream, the famous purpled
'kinampay'.

When one speak of Ube to a Boholano, there is always a story to tell.  When a person
accidentaly drop an ube  to the ground or floor, they say an apology saying "puyra gaba,
wala nako tuyoa" and kiss it as a sign of reverence and love.

The Boholanos believed that Ube was the  special food given to them by Bathala, the
Supreme Creator. It was the food that saved them from extreme famine when a drought
happened long time ago.

lagutnon ug wala silay maani nga humay  ug mais. Ang nahibilin
ube na lang.   Ilang gihina- hinay ug  lung-ag. Para ma ekonomiya,
ilang lunawon.
moingon dayon " puyra gaba" ug dayon halokan.  Kon imong halokan
dili kuno mabun-og ang ubi. Hangtod karon gisunod pa sa atong mga
                katigulangan.

A miracle of Jesus would be defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary as "an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs, or as an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment." According to the Biblical Studies Foundation, a miracle "is an unusual and significant event (terasa) which requires the working of a supernatural agent (dunamis) and is performed for the purpose of authenticating the message or the messenger (semeion)."

While there are many explanations for what a miracle is, we can probably all agree that the word "miracle" describes an event that occurs outside the bounds of natural law, and which is beneficial in its result. During the course of His three-year public ministry, Jesus performed miracles that demonstrated His ability to heal, to master the elements, to affect the outcome of our endeavors, and even to raise the dead. Every one of His miracles occurred outside the bounds of natural law, and all of them had a beneficial result.

Miracles of Jesus - What Lessons Can We Learn from Them Today?
If we look at just the first miracle of Jesus, recorded in John 2:1-11, we learn a lot about this singular Man. First, even though He was God and "on mission," He took time to go to a wedding. Jesus loved people; He came to be with and save people. Do you value your relationships and look for ways to bless others when you are with them?

Second, Jesus turned water into wine at His mother's request. Did Mary expect Him to do a miracle? We don't know that, but we can see from the verses that Mary clearly relied on and had faith in her Son to be able to fix a bad situation. Who do you turn to in times of trouble? Are you relying on someone you can trust to do the right thing?

Third, when Jesus performed this miracle, He was demonstrating His power over nature. When His disciples saw this, John tells us, they believed. Also, Jesus didn't settle for just ordinary wine, but turned the water into the finest of wines, showing Himself to be a Man full of the joy of life. Have you been searching everywhere for truth, but putting off Christ for last? Why wait? Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God? Have you thought that being a Christian is to live a dull, boring life? Jesus wants you to believe as His disciples did, and the experience promises to be dynamic, exciting and life-changing.

Does Jesus still perform miracles today? After all, we don't see Him physically walking in our midst - or do we? Do you know someone who has been healed or whose life has been transformed by a relationship with Christ? Then you have seen a modern-day miracle of Jesus. You, too, can be an eyewitness to a miracle of Christ. Like Mary, you can ask Him, believing He will do what is best for you. Let a miracle of Jesus begin in your heart right now.

The Ten Commandments: The Second Commandment - Do not worship idols
Introduction
Do you think you really know the 10 Commandments? How about the 2nd one which says we are not to have any "graven" or "carved" images? What does that mean? Is it OK to own a statue of any kind? Some religions misunderstand the second commandment; they combine the second commandment with the first. (Read the 1st commandment in Exodus 20:3 or Deuteronomy 5:7. What does it actually say?) The first commandment has to do with WHOM we worship, while the second commandment has to do with HOW we worship the true and only God. In this study guide, the meaning of the second commandment will be explored.

Commandment stated
EXODUS 20:4-6 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Some people use pictures, images, or objects to REPRESENT God in their worship. How do we know that such use of art is sin?

DEUTERONOMY 4:15-16 " Take careful heed to yourselves, for you saw no form when the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire, lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure…."

What was one important point that God told Moses to record about their conversation on Mt. Sinai (Horeb)?
COMMENT: Moses spoke with God and God spoke with Moses but Moses did not see God directly. Therefore we can have no detailed idea of the exact form and shape of God other than Gen 1:26. It would be presumptuous of us to think that we could design or even think up anything representational of God.

1. Why would God not approve of using an object as an aid in worshipping Him?

2. How can images, pictures, or symbols such as crucifixes interfere with proper worship?

3. Is it possible to make an image of God that is true to reality? Why or why not?

4. What about pictures or images of Jesus? Does this commandment prohibit depictions of Jesus? Why do you think so?

5. In Exodus 20:5, what does the word "jealous" mean?

6. How would you react if someone misrepresented you? What consequences occur when someone is not represented correctly?

COMMENT: For God to allow anything to represent Him, which no image or picture can, God would have to accept false witness. God jealously protects His character and Being. Read Isaiah 42:8.

7. Why should we be glad that God is jealous for His people? What is the difference between being jealous OF someone and being jealous FOR someone?

8. What does the expression "visiting the iniquity of the fathers" mean?

9. How does it get passed from generation to generation?

10. How does God distinguish between those who hate Him and those who love Him?

11. To whom does God show mercy?

Christ's words
JOHN 4:23-24 "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

1. How are we to worship God?

2. How can we conceive of God without images?

Some Scriptures to Consider
Read Judges 17. Note how Micah chose to worship God (verses 3,12). Do you think Micah was close to God? Why or why not?

I SAMUEL 4:2-8,10 Then the Philistines put themselves in battle array against Israel. And when they joined battle, Israel was defeated by the Philistines…. And when the people had come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, "Why has the LORD defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Shiloh to us, that when it comes among us it may save us from the hand of our enemies." So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, who dwells between the cherubim…. And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted so loudly that the earth shook. Now when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, "What does the sound of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews mean?" Then they understood that the ark of the LORD had come into the camp. So the Philistines were afraid, for they said, "God has come into the camp!" And they said, "Woe to us! … Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness. (10) So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated….. There was a very great slaughter, and there fell of Israel thirty thousand foot soldiers.

1. Why did Israel believe the Ark of the Covenant would protect them?

COMMENT: Often people venerate an object that represents God rather than fearing and obeying God Himself. Israel trusted God would defeat their enemies because the Ark which represented God was in their presence. In truth, however, they were not close to God.

NUMBERS 21:8-9 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live." So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

Moses made an image of a snake. Why did this not violate the second commandment?
Does the second commandment forbid all works of art that represent earthly or heavenly things? How can one prove it does or doesn't? (HINT: read HEBREWS 8:1-5; 9:23-24).

Summary
1. What is the difference between the first and second commandments?

2. Name some ways in which the second commandment is broken.

3. Explain how worshipping with images or pictures prevents worshipping in spirit and truth.

4. What changes would occur in the world if everyone obeyed the second commandment?

Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled In Jesus' Life
by Dave Arch

There were two primary evidences which the apostles appealed to over and over again to establish the Deity and Messiahship of the Lord Jesus Christ. One was the fact of the resurrection and the other was the Old Testament prophecies which were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ.

Below is a listing of the prophecies written in the Old Testament and given to the Jewish nation so that they might be able to recognize their Messiah.

I. THE ACTUAL PROPHECIES

A. Concerning His Birth

1. Born of the seed of woman (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 1:20)
2. Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 24, 25)
3. Son of God (Psalm 2:7; Matthew 3:17)
4. Seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:18; Matthew 1:1; Galatians 3:16) Here it is determined that the Messiah would be a Jewish descendant.
5. Son of Isaac (Genesis 21:12; Luke 3:23,34) Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Now God eliminates one half of the lineage of Isaac.
6. Son of Jacob (Numbers 24:17; Luke 3:23,34) Isaac had two sons, Jacob and Esau. Now God eliminates one half of the lineage of Isaac.
7. Tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10; Luke 3:23,33) Jacob had twelve sons and each became a tribe of the Hebrew nation. Now God eliminates eleven-twelfths of the lineage of Jacob.
8. Family line of Jesse (Isaiah 11:1; Luke 3:23,32) Now God narrows it down even further by picking one family line out of the tribe of Judah.
9. House of David (Jeremiah 23:5; Luke 3:23,31) Jesse had at least eight sons (I Samuel 16:10,11). Now God eliminates all of Jesse's sons except one, David.
10. Born at Bethlehem (Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1) Now God eliminates all the cities in the world except one, Bethlehem.
11. Presented with gifts (Psalm 72:10; Isaiah 60:6; Matthew 2:1,11)
12. Herod kills children (Jeremiah 31:15; Matthew 2:16)

B. Concerning His Nature

13. His Pre-Existence (Micah 5:2; Colossians 1:17; John 1:1)
14. He shall be called Lord (Psalm 110:1; Luke 20:41-44)
15. He shall be called Immanuel ("God with us") (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23)
16. Shall be a prophet (Deuteronomy 18:18; Matthew 21:11)
17. Shall be a priest (Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 5:5,6)
18. Shall be a judge (Isaiah 33:22; John 5:30)
19. Shall be a king (Isaiah 33:22; Matthew 27:37)
20. Special anointment of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2; Matthew 3:16,17)
21. He zeal for God (Psalm 69:9; John 2:15-17)

C. Concerning His Ministry

22. Preceded by a messenger (Isaiah 40:3; Matthew 3:1,2)
23. Ministry to begin in Galilee (Isaiah 9:1,2; Matthew 4:12,13,17)
24. Ministry of miracles (Isaiah 35:5, 6a; Matthew 9:35)
25. Teacher of parables (Psalm 78:2; Matthew 13:34)
26. He was to enter the temple (Malachi 3:1; Matthew 21:12)
27. He was to enter Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9; Luke 19:35,36,37a)
28. A "Stone Of Stumbling" to the Jewish nation (Psalm 118:22; I Peter 2:7)
29. "Light" to the Gentiles (Isaiah 60:3; 49:6; Acts 13:47,48a)

D. Concerning Events After His Burial

30. His resurrection (Psalm 16:10; Acts 2:31)
31. His ascension (Psalm 68:18a; Acts 1:9)
32. Seated at the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1; Hebrews 1:3)

E. Prophecies Fulfilled In One Day

The following 29 prophecies from the Old Testament, which speak of the betrayal, trial, death and burial of Jesus, were spoken at various times by many different voices during the five centuries from 1000-500 BC, and yet all of them were literally fulfilled in one twenty-four hour period of time in Jesus' life.

33. Betrayed by a friend (Psalm 41:9; Matthew 10:4)
34. Sold for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12; Matthew 26:15)
35. Money to be thrown down in God's house (Zechariah 11:13b; Matthew 27:5a)
36. Price given for potter's filed (Zechariah 11:13b; Matthew 27:7)

In the previous four prophecies we find in both prophecy and fulfillment the following:

1. Betrayed
2. By a friend
3. For 30 pieces of silver (not 29)
4. Silver (not gold)
5. Thrown down (not placed)
6. In God's house
7. Money used to buy potter's field

37. Forsaken by His disciples (Zechariah 13:7; Mark 14:50)
38. Accused by false witnesses (Psalm 35:11; Matthew 26:59-61)
39. Mute before accusers (Isaiah 53:7; Matthew 27:12-19)
40. Wounded and bruised (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 27:26)
41. Smitten and spit upon (Isaiah 50:6; Micah 5:1; Matthew 26:67)
42. Mocked (Psalm 22:7,8; Matthew 27:31)
43. Fell under the cross (Psalm 109:24; John 19:17; Luke 23:26)
44. Hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16; Luke 23:33)
45. Crucified with thieves (Isaiah 53:12; Matthew 27:38)
46. Made intercession for His persecutors (Isaiah 53:12; Luke 23:34)
47. Rejected by his own people (Isaiah 53:3; John 7:5,48)
48. Hated without a cause (Psalm 69:4; John 15:25)
49. Friends stood afar off (Psalm 38:11; Luke 23:49)
50. People shook their heads (Psalm 109:25; Matthew 27:39)
51. Stared upon (Psalm 22:17; Luke 23:35)
52. Garments parted and lots cast (Psalm 22:18; John 19:23,24)
53. Suffered thirst (Pslam 69:21; John 19:28)
54. Gall and vinegar offered Him (Psalm 69:21; Matthew 27:34)
55. His forsaken cry (Psalm 22:1; Matthew 27:46)
56. Committed Himself to God (Psalm 31:5; Luke 23:46)
57. His bones not broken (Psalm 34:20; John 19:33)
58. His heart broken (Psalm 22:14; John 19:34) The blood and water which came from Jesus' pierced side are evidences that the heart had literally burst.
59. His side pierced (Zechariah 12:10; John 19:34)
60. Darkness over the land (Amos 8:9; Matthew 27:45)
61. Buried in a rich man's tomb (Isaiah 53:9; Matthew 27:57-60)

II. OBJECTIONS ANSWERED

A. Fulfilled Prophecies Were Actually Written At Or After The Time Of Jesus

Answer: If you are not satisfied with the date of 450 BC as the date of the Old Testament completion, then realize that the Greek translation of the Old Testament was completed in 250 BC.
Therefore, it appears evident that there were at least 250 years between the time of the writing of the prophecies and their fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

B. The Fulfilled Prophecy In Jesus Was Deliberate On His Part. He Knew The Old Testament Well Enough And Just Set Out To Fulfill All Of Them.

Answer: This might seem possible until we realize that thee were many prophecies outside of His control, such as:

1. Place of birth (Micah 5:2)
2. Time of birth (Daniel 9:25; Genesis 49:10)
3. Manner of birth (Isaiah 7:14)
4. Betrayal
5. Manner of death (Psalm 22:16)
6. People's reactions (Mocking, spitting, staring, etc.)
7. Piercing of His side
8. Burial

C. The Fulfilled Prophecy In Jesus Was Coincidental, An Accident

Answer: Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Chicago: Moody Press, 1963) determines the probability of one man fulfilling eight of the prophecies of the Old Testament for the Messiah to be 1 in 10 to the 17th power.

Now let's try to imagine what this means. If we took that many silver dollars (100,000,000,000,000,000) and laid them over the State of Texas, they would cover the state two feet deep. Now mark one of the silver dollars, stir the whole mass thoroughly, blindfold a person, and tell him/her that they can travel as far as they want but must pick up one silver dollar and say that it is the marked one. What chance would s/he have of picking up the right one? It would be the exact same odds of anyone fulfilling eight of the Messianic prophecies by chance alone.

Peter Stoner then goes on to consider the possibility of any one person fulfilling 48 of the prophecies by chance. Here the odds jump to 1 in 10 to the 157th power. That number would look like this:

1 out of 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

CONCLUSION

"Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other: I am God and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done; Saying, 'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.'"
(Isaiah 46:9,10)

"I declare the former things long ago and they went forth from My mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly, I acted and they came to pass. Therefore, I declared them to you long ago, before they took place I proclaimed them to you, lest you say, 'My idol has done them, and my graven image and my molten image have commanded them.'" (Isaiah 48:3,5)

What Is Saving Faith?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bible speaks of people who are saved by faith, but it also mentions others who have "faith," yet are not saved. What then is required in order for a person to "believe to the saving of the soul" (Hebrews 10:39)?

Saving faith requires 3 things. First is conviction. One must be convinced in his heart that God exists - Hebrews 11:6. Yet, this conviction alone is not enough to save, since James 2:19 says that demons believe there is one God, but they are not saved. So, something more must be required in order for one to have saving faith.

Faith also requires trust in God. One must depend on God as the source of salvation. Daniel was saved from the lions, because he believed in God (Daniel 6:23). He did not just accept in his heart that God exists. He trusted God to deliver him from the lions.

Yet, one does not really trust God unless he has the last element of faith, and that is obedience. Now, many people will tell you that you are saved by faith without obedience. But the truth is that faith that does not obey is faith that does not save. James 2:14-26 shows that faith without obedience cannot justify, because it is dead and barren. Hebrews chapter 11 is the role call of Old Testament people of faith. But, when you study their lives you will see that every individual was rewarded by God only after his faith led him to obey God - never before that!

It is said that years ago a man was about to push a wheelbarrow across a tightrope over Niagara Falls. He asked the crowd how many believed he could make it. Many held up their hands. Then he asked them how many had faith enough to ride in the wheelbarrow! No, you do not need to cross Niagara Falls in a wheelbarrow to please God, but you do need the kind of faith that leads you to act in obedience to His revealed teachings.

Free Bible Study  on 1 & 2 Timothy

God's names, titles, and descriptors are windows into his character. As we learn his names and meditate on them, we will come to know him more intimately. We will begin to trust him more fully. And we will find our hearts drawn ever more passionately to do his will here on earth as it is in heaven. And so I invite you to undertake a journey with me to explore God by means of his names.

Why Study the Names and Titles of God?
Should we study the names, titles, metaphors, and descriptors of God so we can impress others with our God vocabulary? By no means. I believe there are three ways that a study of God's names and titles can benefit us, all of them closely related:

Our prayer life is enriched by having meditated on God's names, titles, and metaphors. For example, as I've studied about God as my Shepherd, I find myself calling on God in prayer as my Shepherd, trusting him to supply my needs and to guide me.
Our worship is enriched, as well. With a limited vocabulary of praise and a limited understanding of God we are reduced to a kind of hobbled, truncated praise. But as we begin to know more of God's facets, we are able to praise him better. Several passages in the Psalms and Isaiah indicate a joy in naming the titles and metaphors of God before him.
Our faith in and understanding of God is increased. As I study how God provides as a shepherd, I now am able to trust him more fully in this area of my life. Whereas I once had a lot of anxiety about making ends meet, now my trust in God as my Shepherd and Provider bring me confidence, assurance, and joy that was missing before.
Chapters
Most High God (’El ‘Elyon). We discuss ’El, the generic term for God and ’Elohim, the plural name used for the Israelite's God. In addition, we explore titles by which God's exalted nature is revealed: Most High God, Father of Glory, High and Lofty One, King of Glory, and My Glory. And we examine Abraham's encounter with Melchizedek in Genesis 14:17-24.
God of Might (’El Shaddai). We examine the names and metaphors of God that refer to his power and might, including military might as the LORD of Hosts/Armies (Yahweh Sabaoth). Also Mighty Warrior and the LORD our Banner (Yahweh nissi). Joshua 5:13-6:2
Yahweh, I AM, the Eternal God (’El ‘Olam). This is God's unique, self-revealed name, sometimes called Jehovah or the tetragrammaton YHWH. We also examine the eternal nature of God as the Ancient of Days, Alpha and Omega, First and the Last, Everlasting God, I AM, and the One Who Inhabits Eternity. Exodus 3:1-18.
God Our Creator. We examine God as our Creator, our Potter as we are clay in his hands, our Builder and Maker. Is 45:5-12 and Psalm 95:1-7.
The Holy and Righteous One. He is God of Holiness, Justice, and Righteousness. He is known as Holy, Jealous, Righteous One, the Judge of All the Earth, the Awe/Fear of Jacob. We'll also consider compound names: The LORD who Sanctifies You (Yahweh-M’Kaddesh) and the LORD our Righteousness (Yahweh-Tsidkenu). He is the Protector of widows and the fatherless  The theme of God requiring ethical justice is strong in the Bible. Isaiah 6:1-8.
God Our Lord and King. Here we examine God in his role as absolute sovereign, or Lord and King. We'll consider such titles as King of Glory, God of gods, and Lord of lords. Psalm 24.
God our Fortress and Protector. A number of metaphors refer to God's protection for his people. He is our Shield, Fortress, Hiding Place, Keeper, Lifter of Our Head, Refuge, Rock, Shade, Shelter, and Stronghold. Psalm 91.
The Lord Our Provider and Shepherd, the God who leads us and supplies our needs. We explore the LORD who provides (Yahewh-jireh), the LORD Our Shepherd (Yahweh-rohi), the God Who Sees (’El-Roi), the LORD who provides (Yahewh-jireh), the LORD is our Healer (Yawheh-rapha), and and The LORD is Here (Yahweh-Shammah).. Psalm 23.
Abba, Father. Jesus especially revealed God as our Heavenly Father, building on an Old Testament theme. We also consider God in relationships with his people as Husband, God of Israel, and God of our Fathers..
The God of All Grace. While the Old Testament revealed the Merciful God, the God of Love and Peace, and the God of My Mercy, the New Testament's special emphasis is on God's love and mercy. Exodus 34:5-7.
God Our Savior and Redeemer. We conclude with a strong theme of God who rescues his people from trouble -- Deliverer, Redeemer, Savior, and Horn of Salvation. We'll also consider The LORD is Peace (Yahweh-Shalom, the name of Gideon's altar). Mark 10:35-45.

went back and took again pictures. The camera didn't click .

We left without any picture taken inside.

[edit] Description

Mango flowers
Reole mangoes from Venezuela ("bocao" variety) with a pear to compare sizesMango trees (Mangifera indica) reach 35-40 m in height, with a crown radius of 10 m. The leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, 15-35 cm long and 6-16 cm broad; when the leaves are young they are orange-pink, rapidly changing to a dark glossy red, then dark green as they mature. The flowers are produced in terminal panicles 10-40 cm long; each flower is small and white with five petals 5-10 mm long, with a mild sweet odor suggestive of lily of the valley. The fruit takes from three to six months to ripen.

Riped Banganpalli mangoes from Guntur, IndiaThe ripe fruit is variable in size and color, and may be yellow, orange, red or green when ripe, depending on the cultivar. When ripe, the unpeeled fruit gives off a distinctive resinous sweet smell. In its center is a single flat oblong seed that can be fibrous or hairy on the surface, depending on the cultivar. Inside the seed coat 1-2 mm thick is a thin lining covering a single embryo, 4-7 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, and 1 cm thick.

Question and Answer / Re: Does Evil Exist?
November 03, 2008, 08:54:02 AM
Yes evils exist like Satan, Demons or Lucifer. Why do we blame for all our
adversaries, shortcomings, and temptations?

Does it mean that all our sinful acts are the works of the devils?.

I do believe that some are the results of being lazy, unminfull and careless.
#4572
Yes Brownman, I agree with you that lighting a candle during All Soul's
Day is a tradition. It is not taught in the bible.  It is not necessary that
we light a candle when we pray. What is important is that you repented
your sin, not that you light a candle so that God will forgive your sins.

1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, He is faithfull and just to forgive us
our sins and tocleanse from all righteousness

Matthew 6, 5 to 7, And when you pray, go into your room, and when you
shut your door, pray to the Father.....

Never can you read in  the Bible  that Jesus, the apostles and even Paul
taught  that when you pray you light a candle .

Happy kalag-kalag.

Is there  a Biblical teaching on this nga magdagkot ta panahon sa kalag-kalag?

Sa langub among gipuy-am, imo kaming panabangan.

                                         .........................
Wala gihapon mohawa. Mipadayon siya sa pagpangadye. Iyang gi modify
Ingon niini:

Mga kalag nga naa sa akong atubangan
Luwason mo Ginoo ang ilang mga kasal-anan.
                              Mga kalag...........
                              Luwason mo...........

Iyang gibalik-balik hangtod nawala ang mga kalag. Nahiabot siya sa iyang
balay alas dose na sa gabii. Matod niya, kadtong mga kalag ,wala mahiluna
sa purgatoryo kay walay naga-ampo nila.

Maajong kalag-kalag sano.

nga puti or white lady, naay way ulo, naa poy agta ug naa poy dancing lady.
#4576
menteryo.

Ngano man nga magdagkot man ta sa menteryo nga naa man didto ang
atong mga minahal nga  kalag. Dili kaha sila initan? Ako lahi sa uban. Dili
mga bulak as a gift to my love ones .

ug tape recorder.
"Magellan". Ge on the air sa DYRD.

Mango Farm of E/fdaray  at San Roque, Digos City

The MANGO  COUNTRY OF DIGOS CITY

                                                             by: fdaray

San Roque is a remote barangay that ranges hilly, flat and slightly
rolling with silty loam soil. It has 438 hectares more or less or 1.53%
of the total area of Digos City.

The main source of livelihood is farming. The early settlers in 1940's
planted corn as their main staple food. In 1970, some farmers planted
sugar cane.  Because of the rise and fall on the price of sugar, some
farmers planted grafted mangoes in 1982. Ten years after, mango
production started to boom because of the great demand for exports
and for local markets. The farmers got high profit that even doubled
compared to sugar production. With my neighboring farmers, I planted
my two hectare lot with grafted magoes. Using the modern technology
of farming, we started inducing the plants to bear flowers at 8 years
old. Mango fruit production became the main source of livehood. Sugar
cane farms were intercropped with grafted mangoes.Years latter, more
and more farmers planted grafted mangoes. Based on my survey in 2005,
100% of the total land area of San Roque was fully planted with grafted
mangoes, the sweet and juicy variety 'mango cebu'. 70% of the mango
fruits produced in Digos City came from San Roque. With an average of
70 mango plants per hectare, approximately  there would be 30,660
mango trees growing aside  from the centennial  mangoes and other
varities that  were planted long before.

Thus, San Roque is regarded the "mango country of Digos City". It
becomes  now, a man-made forest of vast green  mango trees.

The System: The AMA Data Center

The corporate AMA Data Center is the heart of AMA’s information and communication network. Equipped with the latest and state-of-the-art I.T. resources, it provides connectivity and information to AMA’s 200 campuses. The establishment of the Center is focused on the efficient, fast and effective delivery of I.T. services to AMA’s students, faculty and staff.
AMA has envisioned the expansion of its reach through the effective use of information technology and the Center is viewed as a strategic necessity to realize the objectives of AMA Computer University- being the first and largest IT educational institution in Asia.

The AMA Data Center maintains a significant number of computer servers, routers and switches. Through the facilities of the Center, an array of IT services â€" from hosting of corporate applications and systems to information exchange - are delivered to its end-users. It has, in its arsenal, a computing platform that supports almost all of the IT requirements of AMA.

Funneled into the Center is a DS3 (45Mbps) stream of bandwidth provided through the facilities of DigitelOne. The capacity is more than sufficient to distribute internet services to AMA’s computer terminals, information kiosks and network devices. Through the Center, the management and maintenance of AMA’s Wide Area Network (WAN) is observed consistently for 24 hours, 7 days a week. It is from here that local connectivity services are provided by AMA’s telecommunications partners â€" Bayantel, Digitel and PT&T. The frame-relay network infrastructure terminates at the Center and this makes the Center the heart of AMA WAN.

The Center is being maintained by a team of system administrators, network and computer engineers and technical support staff. The strength of the Center is enhanced through the innovative and creative work of its maintenance team. Through trainings and certifications, the Center’s personnel are endlessly ushered into fresher and newer fields of data center management and maintenance.

The AMA Data Center is strategically housed in the corporate office of AMA located at Panay Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City. In the next coming years, the Center is expected to increase its computing power and provide the IT requirements of the expanding organization. It will relentlessly continue to adopt technologies that are new, emerging, and cutting-edge.

This is an imperative that the Center will pursue and with the surge of new market opportunities, the Center will not stop to upgrade its infrastructure to cover the challenges of the growing organization like AMA.
