And I have a view that the Philippines would be in better condition if it joins and confederates with the United States of America.

The Philippine Fatherland will not dissapear, it would be protected and showered with the resources of the United States.

And ALL Filipino citizens, from the people living in the barangays, to the cuidad, from the villages of Mindanao, to the beach resorts of Panglao and Boracay to the large metropolitan areas such as Davao, Cebu and Manila. All Filipinos would be given the rights and privileges as that of American Citizens.

I call that patriotism. :)

I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;  And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and withersoever thou turnest thyself.

--I Kings 2:2, 3

Keep to the Law as well as to Keep to your faith. Glorify The Lord and you shall, by your works and ordeals, shall be glorified in Him. For our own bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who proceeds form the Father and the Son. The Lord, The Giver of Life. Who is worshiped with the Father and the Son.

Find strength in your ordeals and your struggles, as success and triumphs do not come without opposition and the climb. We are called to suffer, as our Lord Jesus Christ suffered for OUR own sakes.

Find beauty in your struggles and in your challenges. And remember that The Lord is not far away. He is near, when you think you are alone.

Remember his own words,

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
--2 Corinthians 12:9

#42904
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

--Romans 8: 16-18

Bible Study / Re: Why Patience is such a Virtue?
October 29, 2008, 05:24:50 AM
Patience is also one that describes our Lord, The Most High. His love for us, like that of a Loving Father, is manifested in that he waits for Us. He Longs for us to Look to Him.

As it is made evident to us in Isaiah 30:18:

Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.

So, brothers and sisters, Our Father, Our Loving Father in Heaven longs to be gracious to us, to have compassion on mercy on us. He is truly the epitome of the Forgiving Father in Christ's parable of the Progidal Son. The Father who welcomes His sinful son with open arms when the son calls for help to the Father.

That is our Heavenly Father. He is Patience. Justice. Eternal.

A Layman,

It is always positive and faith rewarding to discuss the meanings of particular verses within scripture or how it affects our own lives. And our discussion of it is a testament to the Power of the Holy Spirit allowing us to communicate the meanings of sacred scripture.

As our own bodies are temples to The Holy Spirit.

Amen, tinuud bitaw that the Bible is a good guide for our daily bread. There are so much truths to the bible and answers that one can turn to when one is having trouble in our lives. That is the beauty of it.

God Bless you, A Layman.

Yours,

The work ethic and religiosity of our parents are transferred to us, their offspring.

When you say Filipino here in the 'states, it is already synonymous with Medicine or Nursing.

In fact, when I did my rounds this past summer at a local hospital; a patient said something that made me smile concerning her choice of Doctor to treat her. When the admitting nurse took the patient, the patient requested she have a Jew or a Filipino doctor treat her. haha

God Bless the Filipino!

It takes a man to bear the hardships with his wife to raise children. It takes an ever bigger man to stick to the fight to the very end.

The greatest gift a man can have in this life is children. Cherish that gift.

Lyrics

"Everybody needs a little time away," I
heard you say, "from each other."
"Even lovers need a holiday far away from each other."
Hold me now.
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry.
I just want you to stay.(Stay with me, oh.)

After all that we've been through,
I will make it up to you. I promise to.
And after all that's been said and done,
You're just the part of me I can't let go of.

Couldn't stand to be kept away not
for a day from your body.
(Baby I cant live without you, not even a day.)
Wouldn't wanna be swept away, far away
from the one that I love.
[ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/gl ]
Hold me now.
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry.
I just want you to know.
Hold me now.
I really want to tell you I'm sorry.
I could never let you go of.

And after all that we've been through,
I will make it up to you. I promise to.
And after all that's been said and done,
You're just the part of me I can't let go of.

After all that we've been through,
I will make it up to you. I promise to.

You're gonna be the lucky one.

When we get there gonna jump in the air
No one will see us 'cause there's nobody there
After all, you know we really don't care
Hold on, I'm gonna take you there

In dealing with regional discourse, the Philippines' claim to Sabah would be recognized and realized. As an American Protectorate, any claims the Philippines will have will be recognized and supported by the United States and the Armed Forces.

The islamofascists that traverse through Philippine waters in southern Mindanao and in the Tawi-Tawi group would be spotted and halted. There will be no fears of Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese naval ships coming to our waters.

As American Nuclear Submarine Wolf Packs and American Destroyers will be traversing deep into Philippine Seas, and will secure the integrity and territoriality of the Philippines.

Combined forces of Philippine and American units will stand side by side. To face the common enemy: Radical Islamofascism and Chinese Surgency.

In union with the United States, the Philippines will receive the best of the best military hardware into our arsenal. I'm talking about squadrons of F-22s, squadrons of Arleigh Burke Destroyer Class, and Submarines.

I'm talking about the rights and privileges of Americans being extended to ALL Filipinos. American and Philippines would be ONE. 100 Million Filipinos would make a strategic dent in American Society. And within several decades, a majority of the American population would have Filipino Blood.

America would become Philippines, so to say.

:)

I mean, Filipinos already control the American Medical System.
10% of the Health System in the United States is Filipino.
Over 20,000+ Filipino doctors in the United States; and over 250,000 Filipino Nurses.

Think About It.
#42921
Calle,

Under the United States, when the Philippines was an American Protectorate, the Philippines was the richest nation in all of Asia, perhaps in par with Japan at the time. Manila was the largest city in all of Asia and deserved the name of 'Pearl of the Orient'.

If the Philippines becomes an protectorate of the United States, that does not mean that the Philippines will disappear, it will just mean that we will be directly under American military protection. The country will still exist, with autonomous control.

No nation would dare touch the Philippines. As it would be an 'integral' part of the American Superpower.

I don't think one can ever go wrong for the classic kingly sedans, I'm talking about the Mercedes S550 or any S class. I've always been a fan of the S-Class. One for their sizeable interior, second for their comfort and safety. Third for their regal class. The S-Class just catches one's attention, even for those who are biased against sedans (yes im talking to you SUV lovers, hahaha)

This is what I'm talking about:

Sir,

Professionalism must be maintained between you and I. If your pride is too much to accept being wrong then there is nothing I can do to remedy that. I will not acquiesce to your demand because I know that I am correct.

Additionally, I am rather tired of your usery and rudeness to others in our class. How dare you say those things to other people.

If you think that I will hang around you and just ignore your words and put a deaf ear, then you are wrong. You are not in elementary school and just boss individuals like you do, sir. We are in Medical School. Remember that.

I am firm with my conviction.

Lord Jesus, we your people pray to You for our priests. You have given them to us for OUR needs. We pray for them in THEIR needs.

We know that You have made them priests in the likeness of your own priesthood. You have consecrated them, set them aside, annointed them, filled them with the Holy Spirit, appointed them to teach, to preach, to minister, to console, to forgive, and to feed us with Your Body and Blood.

Yet we know, too, that they are one with us and share our human weaknesses. We know too that they are tempted to sin and discouragement as are we, needing to be ministered to, as do we, to be consoled and forgiven, as do we. Indeed, we thank You for choosing them from among us, so that they understand us as we understand them, suffer with us and rejoice with us, worry with us and trust with us, share our beings, our lives, our faith.

We ask that You give them this day the gift You gave Your chosen ones on the way to Emmaus: Your presence in their hearts, Your holiness in their souls, Your joy in their spirits. And let them see You face to face in the breaking of the Eucharistic bread.

We pray to You, O Lord, through Mary the mother of all priests, for Your priests and for ours.

Amen

The beauty of the Seminary is that it gives a man to study scripture as well as to complete the life that Christ has called them into. 4 years as a junior seminarian and then another 4 years in senior seminary. There is time for one to contemplate as well as to learn the ways of the royal priesthood in constitution with tradition and scriptural teachings.

So if there is a change in vows, then one can release his vows and to proceed into a life of Layman-ship.

I once considered the priesthood in my college years. Attending catholic retreats as well as talking with catholic priests and seminarians allowed me to understand the responsibilities of a priest when one adorns the priestly vestiges to Minister and to Teach and to Feed Christ's Flock. In Christ's Apostolic Church that he himself told to St. Peter, "Go and Feed My Sheep".

The responsibilities of Priesthood is heavy, as one is naturally fighting his human instincts. Prayer and Solititude in benediction of the Sacred Sacraments and Professing of the Word is what strengthens them in their ways. Pray for our Priests. That they continue to bear the cross as Christ did and to continue to preach His word to the dismal places of this world. A light unto the world.

In the end that is why I did not proceed into the seminary. It is sacrifice. Total sacrifice. And no ordinary man are called into it; it is the highest of all callings, in my honest opinion. Pray for our seminarians; the junior seminarians, the senior seminarians, for the consecration of new priests and for most of all for our priests.

October 26, 2008, 09:55:09 AM
In The Name of the Father,
In the Name of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us. Christ graciously hear us.
God, the Father of heaven,
Have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.
God, the Holy Ghost,
Have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God,
Have mercy on us.
Thou Who art Infinite Love,
Have mercy on us.
Thou Who didst first love me,
Have mercy on us.
Thou Who commandest me to love Thee,
Have mercy on us.

With all my heart,
I Love Thee, O My God
With all my soul,
I Love Thee, O My God
With all my mind,
I Love Thee, O My God
With all my strength,
I Love Thee, O My God
Above all possessions and honors,
I Love Thee, O My God
Above all pleasures and enjoyments,
I Love Thee, O My God
More than myself, and everything belonging to me,
I Love Thee, O My God
More than all my relatives and friends,
I Love Thee, O My God
More than all men and angels,
I Love Thee, O My God
Above all created things in heaven or on earth,
I Love Thee, O My God
Only for Thyself,
I Love Thee, O My God
Because Thou art the sovereign Good,
I Love Thee, O My God
Because Thou art infinitely worthy of being loved,
I Love Thee, O My God
Because Thou art infinitely perfect,
I Love Thee, O My God
Even hadst Thou not promised me heaven,
I Love Thee, O My God
Even hadst Thou not menaced me with hell,
I Love Thee, O My God
Even shouldst Thou try me by want and misfortune,
I Love Thee, O My God
In wealth and in poverty,
I Love Thee, O My God
In prosperity and in adversity,
I Love Thee, O My God
In health and in sickness,
I Love Thee, O My God
In life and in death,
I Love Thee, O My God
In time and in eternity,
I Love Thee, O My God
In union with that love wherewith all the saints and all the angels love Thee in heaven,
I Love Thee, O My God
In union with that love wherewith the Blessed Virgin Mary loveth Thee,
I Love Thee, O My God
In union with that infinite love wherewith Thou lovest Thyself eternally,
I Love Thee, O My God

My God, Who dost possess in incomprehensible abundance all that is perfect and worthy of love, annihilate in me all guilty, sensual, and undue love for creatures. Kindle in my heart the pure fire of Thy love, so that I may love nothing but Thee or in Thee, until being so entirely consumed by holy love of Thee, I may go to love Thee eternally with the elect in heaven, the country of pure love.

V. O God, come to my assistance.
R. O Lord, make haste to help me.

V. Glory be to the Father,

The decade below is recited three times,
once for each member of the Trinity.

All: Holy God! Holy Strong One! Holy Immortal One,
have mercy upon us.

V. Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

The following part of the decade is repeated nine times

V. To Thee, O Blessed Trinity, be praise, and honor,
and thanksgiving, for ever and ever!
R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory.

V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy

Amen.

God the Father unbegotten,
only-begotten Son,

holy and undivided Trinity,
with all our hearts we acknowledge Thee:
Glory to Thee forever.

V. Let us bless the Father,
and the Son with the Holy Spirit.
R. Be praised and exalted above all things forever.

Almighty, ever-living God,
who has permitted us Thy servants,
in our profession of the true faith,
to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity,
and in the power of that majesty to adore the Unity,
grant, that by steadfastness in this same faith,
we may be ever guarded against all adversity:

Amen.

Set us free, save us, vivify us, O Blessed Trinity!

Interesting. I'd like to read more into this sometime.

My only concern is that there is no specific molecule that is coded for a particular memory. This study in rats is conducted in facilitating necrosis of a particular region of the brain; namely the cerebral cortex.

Any necrosis of cerebral tissue is permanent; as neural tissues are incapable of mitotic division. They are already precursor cells.

Any necrosis in a given brain would, suffice to say, damage some other memories and or capabilities.

Interesting ba ja ning study, though.

Death is the absolute end. It is the physical cancellation of all existence.

Faith tells reveals to us what our eyes do not see. It tells us that there is something after our own physical end. And that is all that we all need.

Strength for our everyday existence; to know that there is something so much more than our physical circumstance. Something so much more greater than the sweetest of all privileges in this life.

My 4 year old German Shepperd, Kaiser Willhelm Lucino, likes to yelp and cry whenever we don't say hi to him. He still has a puppy mentality. He loves to pounce and play even though he doesn't know that he is very heavy. He still thinks that he is still a 10 lb 7 week old puppy. lol.

Kaiser also barks as soon as my dad drives to our parking lot. Somehow he knows whenever Dad is home. Hahaha.

My dad hand fed him when he was only a baby for over a year. So he is extremely loyal to Dad. If we are outside and Dad is mowing the lawn and Kaiser starts to bark at the mailman, just one word from Dad can silence Kaiser.

He just has to say, "Kaiser!" and our Dog will silence himself. LoL

Wala ba kaha intawon ni mental disability ang bata after sa surgery.  Kaluoy tawon.

Hydrocephaly (ancephaly) during intrauterine growth is due to polyhydramnios of the placenta; which is a result of of neural tube defects and or Trisomy. The reason for the manifest of hydrocephaly is because there was insuficiency or deficiency of neural crest cells in migration of the forebrain, midbrain and hindbrain of the pharyngeal arches during embryonic development.

As a result of this, the fetus was unable to take in amniotic fluid, therefore it leads to Polyhadramnions (which is when the amniotic volume within the placenta is over 1500-2000ml) This is unatural since there should be around 800-1000 ml of volume in the placenta.

Co-indicative of hydrocephaly are:
a) Neural Tube Defects
b) Large amniotic fluid; Polyhydramnios
c) High alpha-feto protein within the mother's blood stream

One can see this as manifest in Ultrasound, or after amniocentesis.

Since polyhyadramnios and subesequent development of ancephaly (hydrocephaly) is the result of failure to or insufficient migration of neural crest cells--resulting in neural tube defect--by right, there will be neurological abnormalities in the fetus.

Patients who are born with said conditions have mental abilities that are under par compared to children who were born with no hyadramnio-complications.

The physiology of this is straightforward. Excess water in the cerebrospinal region will result in water entering sensitive regions; particularly the dura mater, arachnoid, subarachnoid space, pia mater and the cortical regions.

Any damage or defect in the cortical regions and surrounding glial cells will result in a manifest of neurological defects. To which will manifest upon the maturation of said child.

I would make it my sole priority to strengthen these truths:

a) Education; establishment of college loans for Filipinos
b) Barring of Politicians with a history of corruption charges
c) Establish, by Presidential Decree, the Federalist System in Government
d) Strengthen the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Court friendly powers to provide military equipment by means of loans to the Philippines and our badly-outdated AFP.

The goal is to make the Philippines an integral part of the United States. As an autonomous American-Protected Republic.

Filipinos are the richest out of all the Asian-American ethnic groups.

The average Filipino-American family earns more than the Caucasian-Americans, Black-Americans, Chinese-Americans, Indian-Americans etc.

We are known as the 'Model American'.

We come to this country as underprivileged and yet find a way to rise to the top.

The Filipino, is RESILIENT. And most of all AMBITIOUS. God-Given qualities.
#42950
Good point, Mr. Ferniz.

Filipinos already control America.

10% of the entire American Medical System is Filipino.
There are 20,000 + Filipino Doctors practicing in the United States, and over 200,000 Filipino Nurses who are serving in hospital systems.

The Filipino population in the United States is around 2.3 million. Yet the American population is 303 million. Think about it in these terms; 0.69% of the American population controls 10% of the ENTIRE Health System.

:)

We have thousands of Filipino-Americans who are practicing attorneys here in the United States. And Filipinos have served as governors. Hawaii, in particular. :)

The clouds look so beautiful today. The ones that I've seen so far were that of the cumulus numbus class. Looks like one can just dance around and jump around those clouds--that look so beautiful up there.

The sun is setting right now. And from the view in my apartment, it is gorgeous orange-pink-red.

Guapo kaayo ang view. The Lord is Great. :)

This past week I have been holding some kind of distrust towards an individual in my class. At first it started as a small thing, pero it has proliferated into the fact that we don't even say hi to each other anymore.

I will goal myself to apologize to this individual this coming Monday. I do not like this feeling that I have right now.

Christ be merciful. Christ forgive me for my mistakes. I know how sometimes I can be very direct and blunt in my wordings.

Gener,

I will tell you right now that you have been blessed with an understanding and loving wife. She is your second half, I can tell. Cherish her, my friend, cherish the union you have and the children that you both have.

And remember your sacred oaths that you confessed together before Almighty God and Man.

'Until Death do us part'

Not that much, 'te. I just made changes in my habits.

a) Limiting my intake of red meat
b) I opt to bike to school instead of driving
c) I drink green tea alot; no more coffee and no more caffeinated drinks
d) Lack of sleep, lol.

Marriage is sanctified, as one is married before God and Man. The act of adultery is a sin, pero ang fact is that no one is free from sin. Bless those who are able to reconcile their differences and their faults and mistakes in any marriage. For what ever is joined together under God, no man or woman should be able to break apart.

Gener, I think that it took alot of courage for you to tell your beloved. And that it was inivetible that you confessed. Truly, you cherished your marriage and Providence has rewarded both of you with a child.

Nothing can eve remain concealed, as your personal anecdote tells us. And it correlates to a verse in scripture:

There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.

When I attended the Catholic Collegiate Conference some 2 years ago with my friends and with our Catholic Chaplain in Allegheny College--we went to Erie, Pennsylvania to join some other hundreds of American College Catholics.

We discussed multiple topics, namely:
1) The Re-evangelization of Roman Catholics--and the Youth
2) Understanding the basis of Faith in Tradition and Scripture
3) The similarities with other Christian Denominations --and differences--and how to build strong friendships and bridges with them

4) The Calling of Holy Orders per se ACCEPTANCE of the Calling God has given us.

Most of us in the conference were male, around the age of 20 to 30. And our accompanying priests shared with us the inspiring words to accept the Calling of God to the royal priesthood.

I did meet a good friend there, a very good friend by the name of Cody. When I met him I was only 21 and he was still 19 and already a 2nd year junior seminarian. I have so much respect for him and inspired by him, as well as the calling that he has CHOSEN to accept. Which is into the ROYAL PRIESTHOOD of the Roman Catholic Church.

He has chosen to accept the calling, which God has given to all men. I still maintain my friendship with Cody ans he is already a senior seminarian now. I do pray for men like him here in the 'States and around the world who have chosen to choose to accept the calling of Christ. To minister to His Living Church.

I pray for all our seminarians, all our priests and for more men to come to join the priesthood. In the name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, Who is God Blessed Forever.

Things to know about the US Navy:

The United States Navy (USN) is the branch of the United States armed forces responsible for conducting naval operations and one of seven uniformed services. The U.S. Navy currently has over 335,000 personnel on active duty and 128,000 in the Navy Reserve. It operates 280 ships in active service and more than 4,000 aircraft.

The 21st century United States Navy maintains a sizable presence in the world, deploying in such areas as East Asia, Southern Europe, and the Middle East. Its ability to project force onto the littoral regions of the world, engage in forward areas during peacetime, and rapidly respond to regional crises makes it an active player in American foreign and defense policy. The United States Navy is the largest in the world with a tonnage greater than that of the next 17 largest combined and has a budget of $127.3 billion for the 2007 fiscal year. The US Navy also possesses the world's largest carrier fleet, with 18 carriers in service and 2 under construction.

A Layman,

Your question brings to mind the Nicene Creed to my mind, which professes:

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

So this tells me, by conviction and faith, that our lives are not ours to give and take, but are gifts by the Holy Spirit. Who is the Giver of Life, and who proceeds from the Father and the Son. And together, The Holy Trinity, is worshiped and glorified.
A second chance to live, by whatever circumstance, is a blessing from The Most High. Live as yourself, and live in accordance to the Word that you have been taught. Hold true to Sacred Scripture in lieu with Sacred Tradition.

Regards,

Quién dijo que vivir sin tí me ha dado igual

(me ha dado igual)

Te diré que aquí, nada es igual

(nada es igual)

No puedo dormir

Pensando en ti

Veo pasar las noches

Y tú no vuelves junto a miiiiii

Y tú no vuelves junto a mi(Andy Aguilera)

Y tú no vuelves junto a mi(Mas flow!)

Divino! (Nos Fuimos)

Ay mi amor perdido dónde estará

No puedo aguantar esta soledad

Qué será de mi vida qué será

Si tú no estas amor (si tú no estas amor)

Día a día voy perdiendo el control

Tú no sabes cómo duele tu adiós

No comprendo

Ahora yo no encuentro una salida

Y me atormento pensando en tí

Queriendo tenerte y tu no estas aquí

Parado en mi ventana

Veo como pasan las noches las mañanas

Como se ha quedado vacía mi casa

Reina de mi alma dueña mi cama

Te fuiste y no dijiste nada

Ay mi amor perdido dónde estará

No puedo aguantar esta soledad

Que será de mi vida que será

Si tú no estás amor

Día a día voy perdiendo el control

Tú no sabes como duele tu adiós

Tengo herida el alma y el corazón

Porque tú no estás Amooooooooor

Porque tú no estás Amooooor

Non ho piú catene ma solo piangero'
Lontano da te
Non ho piú catene perché so che
il tuo amor perso per me

E so che un di' ti rivedrò
Ti stringero' ancor

Guardo il cielo e so, dove sei, cosa fai
E dovunque andrai sentirai

I sospiri miei che per te sol per te
Parlano d'amor, del mio amor

Non ho piú catene ma solo piange il cuor

Kuya, :-[ Percent purity is bugging me...

Problems like:

A 0.7500 gram sample containing Aluminum metal and sand was analyzed. If 0.548 Liters of H2(g) was collected at 20.0°C, what was the mass % of Al(s) in the sample? The vapor pressure of water is 17.54 torr at 20.0°C and the atmospheric pressure was 755.3 torr during the experiment.

I identified units of Mass, Volume, Pressure, and Temperature, which corresponds to the ideal gas law, PV=nRT; R being equivalent to the constant, (0.082057L•atm/K•mol)

After converting to the standard units, I am given:

*0.2800 moles of Aluminum metal
0.548 Liters of H2(g) collected at 293.15K
The vapor pressure of water:  0.2300 atm at 293.15K
and finally, the atmospheric pressure: 0.9940 atm

*I am a little stuck here, because one, it seems like my conversion from grams to moles seems invalid because it is a mixture containing both Aluminum metal and Sand as opposed to just Aluminum alone.  ???

So our main goal is to find the percent yield in correlation to purity. So you already defined the the Ideal Gas Law, which is (PV=nRT):

In this case, P is the absolute gas presure, okay.
In this case, the given V is volume of given gas.
In this case n correlates for gas molecules.
In this case R is the universal gas constant.
In this case T is the absolute temp.

You already provided the universal gas constant as being: (0.082057L•atm/K•mol)

And you already provided the data; so let us apply it.

Theoretically IGL: PV=nRT
Therefore, calculate your data.

What I would do is to utilize boltzman's constant (k) as substitute in order to make this simpler.

When you have your data, find the % purity by the equation:

actual mass obtained/ calculated mass x 100%

Then you should have your answer.

Lively is the courage of those who fear the Lord,
for they put their hope in their savior;
He who fears the Lord is never alarmed,
never afraid; for the Lord is his hope.

Happy the soul that fears the Lord!
In whom does he trust, and who is his support?
The eyes of the Lord are upon those who love him;
he is their mighty shield and strong support.

A shelter from the heat, a shade form the noonday sun,
a guard against stumbling, a help against falling.
He buys up the spirits, brings a sparkle to the eyes,
gives health and life and blessing.

--Sirach 34: 13-17

These verses in Sirach 34 are self explanatory. I love to read this because it reminds us to trust on The Lord. Always trust in The Lord. Yes, we will have our bad days, our hard days, our testing of days, but faith does not come without trials. We must stand by our faith and trust in Lord Jesus, and His Loving Father. Who is the spirit of Life. The Spirit of Truth. The Giver of Life. As what St. Peter told us, the Living Church, in his epistles, to cling to our faith.

God always knows best. :)

May the Peace and Love of Christ Jesus, His Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and Son, be with all of us. Peace be with you, my brothers and sisters.

Men such as your father are an inspiration to young men like myself and others.

It shows me and men in my generation of the duty-driven and ponderance of the fathers of past generations. A father's duty to his children, and love of children.

Adrien Miguel is a handsome name.

Miguel is a Mighty name. Miguel is the Spanish version of Micha-EL. Which, in Hebrew, means, "Who Is Like God?"

It is the name of the Mighty Archangel Michael! The Angel of the LORD. Who so dearly Loved His God as to lead the Angels of Heaven against the armies of Lucifer.

It was Miguel/Michael who thrust down Lucifer from Heaven.

Angie, I really like that name, "Miguel". A strong and handsome biblical name.

is a deacon a priest? dili siguro murag sipyat manka bai lor.

Deacon - A cleric ranking just below a priest in Roman Catholic churches

Buwad,

A deacon of the Church is not a priest. However, has some of the authority that a priest has. The Deacon is a Layperson who has committed himself to Holy Orders. So let us say that a married man, who has children and has a profession outside of the church is compelled to join Holy Orders by the virtue of his faith and his zeal to Christ and to the teachings of the Only Apostolic Church, The Holy Roman Catholic Church, then he can be ordained a Deacon.

As a deacon, you are able to read the Gospel in mass, assist the Priest in the sanctification of the Eucharist, the baptism of the faithful. The role of the deacon is to assist in mass and to offer the Word.

I know a deacon in my local church who is a Civil Trial Lawyer by profession, who is married and has his own children and grandchildren. He is an attorney of the law outside of religious life, but when he is called to assist in mass--as in the Sabbath--and fulfills his duties.

God Bless,

Anyone in the Christian Church should be able to get married to one person of the opposite sex..

Celebacy isn't a requirement, it's a choice of what they decide to give up. It's not a sin, it's a manmade requirement. It does more harm than good.

That is true. But other Christian Denominations are protestants. They have 'Protested' against the virtues and the sanctity of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Differences in Scriptural Teachings as well as in the Traditions enancted have provided the foundation of the Protesting against the Holy Living Churches.

Yes, a Baptist Minister can marry a woman. A Luthern Minister can marry. A Presbyterian can marry. An Anglican can marry and can even allow a woman to be a priest.

But this is not so in the Holy Roman Catholic Church. You want to remain your gifts as a Layperson, one should continue his or her duty to God as a faithful Christian Catholic. Continue your duties to your family, and to continue to read Scripture and uphold the Sacraments. That is your duty as a Layperson.

The Royal Priesthood are reserved for those who would sacrifice their body to the teachings of Christ. A priest, by virtue of his calling, IS married. He is Married to Christ. And to Christ Alone.

Leo,

Maintain a healthy lifestyle, make sure you take vitamins (K, A, B12, C etc) on a daily basis so as to augment your immune system. Leukemia is the overproduction of immature leukocytes (white blood cells) and thus leads to the mestasis of the cancer.

I am sorry to hear that you had relatives stricken by this, and I am only concerned for your health, brother.

Please make sure that you attend and frequent an Oncologist to make sure that you are taking the appropriate steps to prevent this. Leo, prevention is far more effective than the actual treatment. And I do believe this.

By the Grace of God, am happy that all is well. The Love of Good and Gentle Providence is always the Guiding Light for All of Us.

My prayers and my warm regards,

Teachers open up young minds,
showing them the wonders of the intellect
and the miracle
of being able to think for themselves.
A teacher exercises
the mental muscles of students,
stretching and strengthening,
so they can make challenging decisions,
find their way in the world,
and become independent.
The best teachers care enough
To gently push and prod students
to do their best
and fulfill their potential.
You are one of those.

With methods crisp and clear,
Lessons of bright colors
And a happy atmosphere.

A teacher is like Winter,
While it’s snowing hard outside,
Keeping students comfortable,
As a warm and helpful guide.

Teacher, you do all these things,
With a pleasant attitude;
You’re a teacher for all seasons,
And you have my gratitude!

Our America

By: Anonymous

Oh beautiful is the land I love;
the home of the brave and free,
I praise the Lord for the light from above
that guided the pilgrims across the sea.

America, oh America,
let our voices join together on high,
And pledge allegiance to our flag,
with liberty and freedom our battle cry.

Let our hearts join together and beat as one,
as Americans united we stand,
To defend to the death our precious freedom,
from sea to sea across our great land.

Let us kneel before our Mighty God,
who led us through the night,
Let us receive His amazing grace and
thank Him for His guiding light.

Poems and Poets / A Nation's Strength
October 24, 2008, 01:22:00 PM
By: Ralph Waldo Emerson

What makes a nation's pillars high
And it's foundations strong?
What makes it mighty to defy
The foes that round it throng?

It is not gold. Its kingdoms grand
Go down in battle shock;
It's shafts are laid on sinking sand,
Not on abiding rock.

Is it the sword? Ask the red dust
Of empires passes away;
The blood has turned their stones to rust.
Their glory to decay.

And is it pride? Ah, that bright crown
Has seemed to nations sweet;
But God has struck its luster down
In ashes at his feet.

Not gold but only men can make
A people great and strong;
Men who for truth and honor's sake
Stand fast and suffer long.

Brave men who work while others sleep,
Who dare while others fly...
They build a nation's pillars deep
And lift them to the sky.

Poems and Poets / Llamar de mi Amor
October 24, 2008, 01:19:10 PM
O llama de amor viva
que tiernamente hieres
de mi alma en el más profundo centro!
Pues ya no eres esquiva
acaba ya si quieres,
¡rompe la tela de este dulce encuentro!

¡O cauterio süave!
¡O regalada llaga!
¡O mano blanda! ¡O toque delicado
que a vida eterna sabe
y toda deuda paga!
Matando, muerte en vida has trocado.

¡O lámparas de fuego
en cuyos resplandores
las profundas cavernas del sentido,
que estaba oscuro y ciego,
con estraños primores
color y luz dan junto a su querido!

¡Cuán manso y amoroso
recuerdas en mi seno
donde secretamente solo moras,
y en tu aspirar sabroso
de bien y gloria lleno,
cuán delicadamente me enamoras

First,

It would be impossible for this to happen because the duties of the Priest is paramount, and must not be hindered with the details that concerns the laity.

To be called and into the Royal Priesthood of the Holy Roman Catholic Church is not an everyday occurence, and this calling is the highest of all callings.

This calling requires one to forgoe all measures of biological production. Total Sacrifice.
A priest does not marry a woman because a priest is married to Christ's Word. And to Christ Alone.

If you are a Roman Catholic and you wish to retain your relationship and yet at the same time want to have a role in the Church, one can become a Deacon of the Church (if one is a man). One can also play a role in reading the Gospel as well as being Eucharistic Minister and or a member of the Chorus.

If you want to minister to the Church, one can also be a Catholic Minister in Catholic Biblical Studies. As well as a Youth Minister.

Philippine Daily News / Re: Bakbakan Sa Mindanao

Only a Religious Take Over will cease this conflict.

Evangelization, and continued Christianization of Mindanao will produce peace in Mindanao.

Christian Philippines is naturally peaceful. The Mohameddanic Malays have always been violent. Even the Spaniards noted their brutality in their books in the 16th century.

Mohameddanic Malays enslaved many Visayans, selling them as slaves in Sulu and to Borneo.

Spain should have continued its conquest to down to Borneo and All of Malaya.

Spain should have CHRISTIANIZED all of the Malay Archipelago.

Kummusta logmein,

That is a very good point. The porous border between the Philippines and Indonesia and Malaysia has been staging ground for rampant islamofascism coming to the Philippines by way of Southern Mindanao--coming from Indonesia and Malaysia.

This is a good point.

The Philippines needs to counter this with a counter-culture.

The Philippines needs to RE-EVANGELIZE the entire country from up to bottom and reclaim the Seat of Christianity that is in the Philippines.

We are a Christian Nation. First and Foremost.

I read this blog from a Filipina who has lived in Spain for quite some time, and brought a smile to my face as her experience has been similar to mine, in respect to the understanding of Dr. Jose P. Rizal and his writings of Filipinismo and Identity.

The blog itself:

When I came to Spain in 1982, coincidentally 100 years after Rizal’s arrival, I was as confused as he was. I really didn’t know what being a Filipino meant. I came here, just like many others, in search of a better life. I was 25 years old and a manipulated product of Martial Law. I even thought that it was so embarassing to be a Filipino.

After a few years of staying here, I got to learn the language better and started to get comfortable reading the original works of some of our great countrymen who came here a century ago and made a name for themselves writing with the might of their pens in the language of Cervantes. I also read Spanish authors who wrote about the Philippines. I began to understand better what Marcelo H. del Pilar or Graciano López Jaenawrote.

In 1987, my friends and I produced a theatrical play in honor of the 100th anniversary of the publication of Noli Me Tángere at the Ateneo de Madrid (no relation to the Ateneo of the Jesuits in the Philippines). It was and still is a hangout where intellectuals like Rizal used to come and watch theater, attend conferences and even browse its renowned library. So I thought it was a very appropriate place to present the play. By the way I played the roll of Elías.

After the performance I returned home to the Philippines for the first time. While there, I discovered that Rizal’s letters as well as his diaries had been published for his birth centennial in 1961. I bought the complete set of books in T.M. Kalaw and took them back to Madrid. As I had been working as a translator in Spain, I knew how very easy it was to lose the essence of the Spanish text the moment it was translated by an Ango-Saxon or an American. I resolved to study all of Rizal’s correspondence in the original language.

As I began reading I started to feel that Rizal was talking to me directly across time. I began to regard him as my own older brother in the sense that I started to know his idiosyncracies, hangups, likes, and deficiencies. I started to get to know Rizal a lot better as a person and not that unreachable hero that was presented to me during my student days.

I got to know that he liked bagoong and burong mangga just like me. I was able to see his intellectual growth. I realized how poor he was, that he couldn’t afford to buy his favorite books, and to save money he would surreptitiously drop pieces of paper to mark where he left off reading. It became such a habit that his friends like Máximo Viola would then buy those favorite bookmarked books to give them as a present to him.

Reading his Spanish letters made me understand his pioneering quest for Filipino identity and how he wanted to obtain our true independenceâ€"of course through education. This became very clear to me when I read the one ond only speech he gave at Restaurante Inglés in Calle Echegaray in honor of Juan Luna and Felix Resurrección Hidalgo for winning first and third place at the internationally acclaimed Exposición de Bellas Artes de Madrid in 1884. I clearly understood that he saw that our true independence could only come with education. Being able to feel each word of Rizal’s Mí Último Adiós made me understand the essence of his faith that echoed through eternity. I do not think that the true essence of this poem can be translated into any other language.

By knowing Spanish, I believe that I can perfectly understand what Rizal lived for. This doesn’t make me less of a Filipino. I think that by mastering the language, I am a more prepared Filipino. I can communicate with more people and obtain their sympathy for our country. When Spaniards meet me they can see that Filipinos are just like them, not less nor more, but as prepared and knowledgeable as they are. Today, I’m really proud to be a Filipino, especially in Spain!

In addition, Philippines was the richest country during the Spanish occupation due to the tobacco monopoly and the Acapulco Trade.

There are even places in Acapulco with residents that looks like Filipinos. They were probably the Filipino sailors and labors who stayed for good.

That is very true, Sir!

You know there is a strong Chinese and Filipino population in the western coast of Mexico. That came to Mexico via the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade.

One good example of direct similarity between Manila and Madrid is the similarity in structural design of San Agustin Church to that of the Royal Palace in Madrid.

What is interesting about the Latin World, Mr. Ferniz is that each country in Latin America differs from each other because each country in the Latin World has its culture from Spain, but has regionalistic differences.

Per se, in New Spain (Mexico), most of the immigrants there were from Madrid and central Spain. New Spain was also the 'heart' of the Spanish overseas possessions. It was the 'relay' station for further conquests. As most of the conquistadores and priests that came to the Philippines came from Spain by means of Nueva Espana (Mexico).

So you will see that the food and culture of nations such as Argentina will be slightly different from nations such as Columbia and Venezuela because the Spaniards that colonized Argentina were primarily from the Basque region, of the Northern part of Spain. And nations such as Peru, Columbia were colonized by Andalucianos.

Andalucia is in southern Spain, with a more Arabic cultural flare, whereas Basque Province of Northern Spain has a 'French' flare to it since the close proximity of Basque Province to France.

In this case, we see that the countries in Latin America literally are a continuation of the provinces of Spain.

The Spaniards that came to the Philippines mostly came from Nueva Espana, which was a major Viceroyalty; The Viceroyalty of Nueva Espana. The Spaniards that did come to the Philippines were mostly from Central Spain or from the Southern provinces.

If you look at the architecture of Intramuros, you will see an uncanny resemblance to the architecture seen in Neuva Espana (Mexico) during that time period.

Church in Intramuros

compare that to:

Mexican Church (Nueva Espana)

16th century Spanish Church in Mexico (Notice its uncanny resemblance to the church in Intramuros)

Note: You can tell the structural differences of the different churches from Northern Spain, Central Spain and Southern Spain.

With the question above, I answered I don't know.
Its a long process to become a state of the USA.
Its impossible to happen.
Its unconstitutional.

It is impossible now, as America would be considered an Imperialist State if it did. And there are many Americans within the United States that are antagonistic to American intervention in other countries' foreign affairs, let alone the take over of an entire country, especially a large one like the Philippines (whose population is estimated to hit 100 Million within a decade).

Though the prospect of statehood is impractical right now, rest assured that the United States and more importantly, the United States Armed Forces will never truly leave Philippine soil.

The Philippines has an important role to American Military Policy concerning its hegemony in the Pacific. The Philippines is truly the stepping stone to Asia-Mainland.

The Philippines is also close to America's territory of Guam and the Marianas. Suffice to say, the United States will NEVER allow any nation to touch the Philippines without soliciting a MASSIVE American Response.

The United States NEEDS the Philippines.

History has mandated it.

The United States launched the LARGEST Naval Campaign in the History of Mankind in 1944 in the Reconquest of the Philippines to eradicate Japanese presence in the island. As close to 1000 American Naval Ships sailed to the island of Leyte to retake the Philippines, thereby fulfilling MacArthur's "I will Return" promise.

America sacrificed over 60,000 of its Sons to take back the Philippines from the Japanese.

History has already demonstrated how much America wants the Philippines and NEEDS it.
