To fulfill the Palija challenge of calle and glacier, I made this ampalaya pickles, recipe courtesy of Sir Felix Daray. In my version of this pickled ampalaya,  I reduced the salt and sugar, added ginger, thinly sliced fennel instead of read onion and a few leaves of cilantro.  Great food!

I made the Pickled Ampalaya.  It was actually good.  Next time naay party, magbuhat ko ani iparis ug lechon. Pero basin mao toy naka cause nag sakit akong tiyan oi!

There's a lot of people who lost their jobs, and ultimately lost their houses here in California.  But crimes, it's all over not just in the State of California.  One common crime here that really hit me hard is the kidnapping and molesting of kids.  There's a lot of child molesters.  One unsolved case after another.  tsk tsk tsk

Mike, I saw it in one of the threads that Manay mentioned about her father-in-law's demise.  I know that Manay Tess was graciously taking care of her father-in-law up until he died, and I think Manay is still taking care of her mother-in-law.

Maring, it's not just me who said to ignore this guy.  There's Keko, Tita Sol, Tita Lee and others pa.  And the article that Hazel posted is the original article - the article that caused all of these uproar.  And I supposed he apologized already or that he must have been fired?  We don't know.  Maybe just keeping his cool until next time that he can fire his tirades again!

This chipmunk tsao guy makes a living of his sarcastic articles so we are actually adding to his "popularity" by all these reactions.  That's why I said he is just one ignorant person because, before he opened his mouth, he should have had known that his people shipped in container vans his own people to work in America.  If he didn't know, the container van landed in SF fort! 

Somebody said to boycott HK products.  I really disagree in that aspect because for one, this chip's statement does not represent the whole of HK's people, although we already have kind of generalization how Chinese behaves.  In any case, our Pinoy housemaid in Cheap Chip's household, whom he claimed is an International Politics degree holder, should not suck all this up.  If Louisa  is being insulted to the nth degree by this cheap guy, Louisa should depart from chip's house and fight for what she believed in. Oh, but she must have a contract with chip guy so maybe our consulate can help her because no one should put up with mental abuse like we thought Louisa is going through everyday with this chip guy.  Or, any Filipinos for that matter. 

Hay sakit lang sa dughan because some of our countrymen will just absorb all these abuse for lack of better opportunities in our own country or somewhere else.

Ako ning buhion ni na thread kay it's about time to start for our preparation for the first death anniversary of Aya san.  A good and trusted friend of Aya san and Tita Sol will be there to oversee this project.  Her name is Lorie. 

I am knocking at your doors to ask for your help to make this project a success.  The organizers, spearheaded by Tita Sol aka Langgamtamsi told me that we are targeting to hand out goodies (rice, canned goods, etc.) to about 70 elderly and needy people in Aya san's barangay Candabong, in Anda, Bohol.

I am just wondering.  In the earlier post or was it in the article in Bohol Chronicle, it mentioned that the victim, Mr. Williams, hired a security guard after the attempt on his life right in his Bar (Sea or She Bar, way klaro).  Where was he when the incident happened?  And just like other posters, I also wonder why he was in Mansasa that day when I supposed he had a home in Panglao. 

Also, Priscilla challenged the security guard of the Mangrove KTV Bar and Restaurant and Lodging House to produce pictures as proof that Mr. Williams indeed brought women with him when he checked in to the Lodging House. It isn't possible otherwise the security guard will be in great trouble with the Bar/Restaurant/Lodging House patrons.  It's intrusion of the privacy of the patrons.  Let us just let the investigators do their job and trust that Mr. Williams' death shall be given justice.

I hope the foreigners in our province also consider that what happened to Mr. Williams is something that embarrassed us as Boholanos/Filipinos.  This is not something about them being foreigners or us being Filipinos. It's about life and no one deserves to die in the manner that Mr. Williams died.  Peace to all!

Oh, you did an awesome job!  We are doing fine, Dong, but just so busy because we have a big party for tomorrow - my belated and ytesski's advance birthday party.  Oh, also an advance birthday party for Uncle Ray, Alyssamarie's Dad.  On top of that, somebody asked me to make a 3-tierred cake for a 16-year old birthday girl and everything's happening tomorrow! whew!  So, pasensya if I can't reply right away!

To the family and friends of Mr. Martin or Marten Williams, my deepest condolences!  It is never easy to lose a loved one much more in the manner how Mr. Williams died.  I am with the rest of the people here who are wishing that justice be served for those who committed the crime.  And hopefully justice be served soon.

I hope and pray that this will not create division among foreigners and locals in Bohol but instead would unite all of us in curbing criminality.
