Prayer is an expression of faith. When I pray seriously, I feel my sinfulness and I cry.

I love this statement.

Prayer IS an expression of Faith.

Mo add lang ko:

1. PRAYER is the umbilical cord between man and GOD.

hehe.

Through Prayer, God feeds me, heals me, empowers me.

We need more Americans with the same drive as Kennedy to take public office.

Republican or Democrat, we need new and fresh politicians.

Kennedy is a reminder of our All-American Dreams. Yes it is possible. Yes the Dream still Lives!

General Topic / Re: Discounts for the Disabled
August 27, 2009, 11:54:29 AM
That is the beauty of the society here in the United States of America. The society is sensitive to disabled (mentally and physically). The United States has developed and established laws and freeways via legislature and through Civil Rights group to  guarantee equal rights to American Citizens that have been disabled; to have medical care and economic assistance in hard times.

And this should be maintained, imho. If one is a citizen, one should have access to economic aid in times of need.

Bible Study / Re: Bible Study: Tubag Bohol Version

Answer:

1.  Choose Your Friends Carefully

This first verse is the one that will tell us to choose our friends very carefully in this life. This verse should literally be burned into your memory banks so that you never ever forget this basic fundamental command from the Lord! Here it is:

"The righteous should CHOOSE HIS FRIENDS CAREFULLY, for the way of the wicked leads them astray." (Proverbs 12:26)

Notice this verse is specifically telling us that if we do not choose our friends very carefully in this life, that we could end up choosing the wrong type of people to become friends with and they can then end up leading us astray from God and with what He wants to do with our lives. Many of God's people have lost their calls in Him because they chose to hang out with the wrong type of people or the wrong crowd.

2.  Benefits of Choosing Good God-Friends

Here are six very interesting verses showing you why God does want you to have other good solid Christian friends to share your walk with.

These six verses will show you that there is safety in the multitude of counselors, that plans can go awry without having other people to hash things out with, that war is waged by wise counsel with others, that learning is increased by listening to wise counsel, and that if you cease to listen to wise counsel - that you will start to stray from being able to acquire more knowledge in God.

   * "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14)

   * "A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; for by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of counselors there is safety." (Proverbs 24:5)

   * "Every purpose is established by counsel; by wise counsel wage war." (Proverbs 20:18)

   * "Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established." (Proverbs 15:22)

   * "Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days." (Proverbs 19:20)

   * "Cease listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge." (Proverbs 19:27)

Once you turn the reigns of your life over to God for Him to fully handle, He will now make sure that you get matched up with the right kind of people that you can become true God-friends with.

3.  As Iron Sharpens Iron

This next verse is extremely fascinating as it tells us that two friends can help sharpen each other up as iron sharpens iron. A true God-friend can help keep you sharp in the Spirit, let you know when you are getting too far off track, help you get through and make sense of some of the downswings that can occur in your walk, confirm and help bear witness when you are on the right track, give you pep talks when needed, and help keep you in the game when you start to get too mad and too frustrated when things do not go your way.

You each serve to help keep each other up in the Lord so that you both can continue to stay on the straight and narrow road that God now has you set up on. You can also help each other out if one starts to be tempted to do something they should not be engaging in. Here is the verse:

"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." (Proverbs 27:17)

A true God-friend will always be honest and straight forward with you. You cannot help keep each other up and sharp in the Lord unless you are both willing to be totally honest with one another.

4. Do Not Be Unequally Yoked With Unbelievers

These next seven verses will tell us not to be yoked together with unbelievers, foolish men, dogs, evil workers, those who are disorderly, reckless, contentious and always causing trouble and strife.

There is one verse in particular that tells us that "evil company corrupts good habits." This verse perfectly shows us what can happen to any of your children if they start hanging out with the wrong type of people.

Here are 7 good verses telling us to stay on our side of the fence, and to stay away from all of the bad apples who have no desire for God or anything that He stands for.

   * "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God." (2 Corinthians 6:14)

   * "He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed." (Proverbs 13:20)

   * "A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, but knowledge is easy to him who understands. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge." (Proverbs 14:6)

   * "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers ..." (Philippians 3:2)

   * "But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us." (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

   * "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you have learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple." (Romans 16:17)

   * "Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits." Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God." (1 Corinthians 15:33)

All of these verses are giving us major warnings that we are to stay away from all of the bad apples in this life who will do nothing but try and bring us down to their lower way of living in this life. Many Christians have had their lives totally ruined and destroyed as a result of marrying the wrong people or choosing the wrong kinds of friends to hang out with.

Bible Study / The Importance of Theology
August 27, 2009, 11:40:56 AM
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. —2 Corinthians 6:14

When looking for a new car, potential buyers look at more than the exterior styling. They check out the inner workings that make it run smoothly and efficiently.

When choosing a spouse, however, some are not so careful. They discover too late that a beautiful body is camouflaging a defective mind and soul. Men and women both make this mistake, but author Carolyn Custis James was specifically concerned about men when she wrote: “ woman’s interest in theology ought to be the first thing to catch a man’s eye. . . . [Her] theology suddenly matters when a man is facing a crisis and she is the only one around to offer encouragement.”

Solomon should have known this. He was, after all, the wisest man who ever lived (1 Kings 3:12; 4:29-34). But Solomon followed his own desires rather than God’s command and married women whose allegiance was not to God (11:1-2). The results were disastrous. Solomon’s wives turned his heart toward other gods (vv.3-4), and God became angry with him (v.9). The kingdom of Israel was eventually divided and defeated (vv.11-13).

Good theology is important for everyone. And it is difficult to make good decisions if our allegiance is to someone who does not know and love God.  — Julie Ackerman Link

Thinking It Over
Why is it unwise for a follower of Christ to marry an unbeliever? What advice does Peter give to wives of unbelieving husbands? (see 1 Peter 3:1).

It is a mystery. Medical Science dictates that a human body will decompose by the end of the 1st week if it isn't embalmed. The human body will rigor mortize, then it will bloat, then it will liquify. All that will be left is the skeletal remains.

If embalmed, the body will last and be preserved for no more than 5~ years. Eventually it will develop mycological growth (fungal), then it will then bloat, and give in to the natural process of decay and decomposition.

However, there are instances, as seen in the bodies of the Incorruptible Saints.

Where the body is preserved for centuries and in some cases, even millenias.

It defies natural order of things.

Then again, if we believe that God can raise the dead back to life on the Last Day, who is to say that He cannot prevent the bodies of His Saints from decomposing?

Faith. There are some things that we cannot explain.

I speak as 2nd year Medical Student.
And I obey the fact that there are things that cannot be explained by science and logic.

For God works outside the understandings of Man.
Man can never fully understand God's Wonders. :)

Isaiah 55:8
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

Prayer and Action. :)

You must do what is expected of you, accomplish the task required, which will lead you to the destination. But it is prayer, that fuels that drive. Prayer in silence, prayer out loud, prayer with friends etc. It helps the drive.

Prayer empowers and gives a sense of purpose.

Prayer means everything to me. During my undergraduate college, being away from home~ living 500 miles away from my house, it was prayer that sustained me spiritually. If you are spiritually whole, you can accomplish your task. :)

Am far from home again in medical school, and it is prayer, definitely, the presence of The Holy Spirit is what encourages and directs.

Because..there is only so much we, as people can do. The rest, we leave to The Lord to direct us. :)

That, I can assure you of. hehe

I was reading a testimony by a French Surgeon, who was there when they exumed the body of St. Bernadette of Lordes in 1909, the body of the Saint was clothed in her Ministerial Order, the only part of the body that was exposed was her face and her hands.

No smell of human decomposition was present, they examined her body, to notice that her body was perfectly preserved. No markings of embalming.

And even embalming can only delay decomposition for 2-5 years at most.
The natural order of the human body wills it that the cells will break down and release proteases, and kinases as well as cytoplasmic granules that will lead to the breakdown of tissue, ligaments, and even bone.

The body of St. Bernadette had no odor of decay, rather, they could still see the veins in her hands, and her nails were perfectly preserved. Her clothing was riddled dust, and the rosary that was in her hand was rusting, but her skin and her body has remained unaffected.

For over 100 years it has not decayed.

-----

St. Bernadette was a sickly woman in life. But her vow to Christ was as powerful.
The preservation of her body is a testament to the Power of God.
Who defies nature, for He created and wrote Nature.

Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."
Luke 18:27
#36221
If the child was preserved via embalming fluid and or if the child's organs were removed, this can lead to a high yield in preservation as the organs, particularly the stomach contents and GIT is responsible for the leakage of proteases and kinases that break down tissue and facilitate bacterial proliferation which leads to the bloating of the body after rigor mortis occurs.

If the child was mummified meaning its organs were removed, then this would delay the decomposing effect.

However, I do believe in incorruptable preservation.

There are many bodies of Catholic Saints that have been preserved perfectly through the centuries and some were preserved for almost 2 thousand years.

The body of St. Silvan, the Martyr, has been perfectly preserved in its original state since the 4th century A.D when he was martyred in what is now present day Croatia.

The body of St. Beranadette Soubouris is preserved so perfectly and she looks like as if she is just sleeping. The bodies of these saints are not preserved, and have defied the natural process of decay and decomposition.

And I do believe in this, as it relegates to Psalm 15, "You will not allow your holy ones to be corrupted."

----

St. Bernadette of Lordes
b: 1844 d: 1879
She was not embalmed.

St. Silvan the Martyr,
martyred in: AD: 310
St. Silvan was a young priest.

The body of the Saint is over 1600 years old. Not embalmed.

Look closely, St. Silvan was martyred by a cut on the neck. His throat was slit by a blade.
He was a young priest who spread the word of Christ in what is now present day Croatia--converting pagans.

God the Father who can raise the dead on the Last Day has preserved St. Silvan's body,
a living testament to the Power of God.
Faith, folks! Don't question. Just believe!

Jose Rizal was even saluted and recognized by the Indian National Hero, Mahatmas Gandhi.

The intellectual movement initiated by Dr. Jose P. Rizal was astute; he was way ahead of his time!

A living and great polymath.

A Physician-Surgeon, Political Scientist, Philosopher, Artist, Poet, Essayist, Lover, Son, Brother, Christian, Martyr.

He was utterly selfless. He gave up everything, all prospects of a life as a physician, his youth, his admirers in Spain, to a certain death in the Philippines.

Not many men in our time or in any time epochs can emulate that.
Ninoy Aquino returned to Philippines, but he risked his life for the small chance of being elected as President. And an attempt to uproot the Marcos Administration.

Rizal, on the other hand, had no such endeavors.
His was a life of idealism and political equality.
The fact that Rizal knew that his influence would be best made known through writings, in the present generation and in latter generations is what makes him a National Hero.
Giving up his life, to him, was a pleasure.

As a nation and as a people we owe it to Rizal, who was our sacrificial lamb.
His death awakened the Filipino National Movement.
With his death, led to the birth of a Nation.

His death was necessary.

That is why I consider Rizal as a Christ-like figure.

God Bless Jose P. Rizal.
The FATHER of the Republic.

Dear Friends, Brothers and Sisteres in Christ,

In our lives we come across people, some good, some bad,
some worthy of our memory, some whom we wish we never met,
but in the end, they nonetheless have affected our lives one way or another.
We all have gone through this stage in life one point or another.

What I want to discuss with you all is the notion of: Friendship.

The meaning of Real Friendship and the things that warrant a person to be considered a true Friend.

Biblically speaking, what does Scripture say about true friends?
Speak your view, provide scriptural reference and even personal anecdotes.

Yours In Christ,
Lorenzo

I sent my clothes to the laundry mat to be cleaned. Afterwards went out to do some jogging, then met up with friends to try out our white coat. Humbling experience. :)

Later we went back to Shalabh's place to cook, then talked to new MD1 students.

So many questions asked, so many questions answered.

As always, my pleasure to help and to assist in anyway I can, to the best of my ability.

Today I went to the medical collegium to try out my white coat.

The name "A. Lorenzo Lucino Jr, Medical Student"
was written on the right chest banner.
With the emblem of SJSOM on the left and right shoulder.

That white coat,
awakened me.

As I stood there looking at myself in the mirror,
as I was photographed with my stethoscope,
It hit me.
This is it.
This is the goal.
Chris Saves!

May I always have the fire of Christ in my heart.
I beg Eternal Providence to keep me in remembering the dying,
the needy, the poor, the impoverished.

As my colleagues were ecstatic in trying their white coats today,
I couldn't help but have a sense of urgency in praying.
Blessing God for the Grace he has given me to pass classes thus far,
and begging God to provide me the ability to complete the tasks required of me.

It was a humbling experience.
And I was honored, indeed.

Thought for the day.

Even when we are direct to some people,
Provide clear and concise transparency,
still some will take advantage of our generosity,
and our availability.

In these instances,
rather than give in to their curses and their negativity,
it is best to bless them.

God Tells us to bless those who curse us,
and slander us and those whom we love.

Bless them in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Better to suffer for Christ
than to live defying His Commands.

A brother in Christ,
Assured in Christ,

As of yet, though, I haven't found her. But I trust in Providence's Divine Instruction, which will direct me to her..somehow..somewhere

How To Tips / Addiction of Gossip: Stop It
August 26, 2009, 06:24:58 AM
People gossip for many ---- all of them wrong ---- reasons. For example, people of low self-esteem tend to gossip. They do not respect themselves, so they gossip about others and pull them down. This allows their own egos to rise on the ruins of others'. The gossiper experiences a temporary illusions of worth, but quickly descends even lower than before. He or she then yearns to gossip again, aching to experience another high. But down he or she goes again.

And another gossip addict is born! Some people are addicted to gossip just as much as some others are addicted to drugs.

Frustration produces gossipers, too. You can't have everything you want. Perhaps you are dissatisfied with your situation in life. You hunger and thirst for satisfaction. So what do you do? Well, some people eat, eat, eat, desperately desiring to devour their frustrations away. Others talk, talk, talk and devour their neighbors away. After gossiping they feel better ---- for a little while. Then reality hits them again and the addictive cycle of frustration and gossip starts all over again.

Idleness breeds gossip. People who are idle with their hands tend to be active with their tongues. Paul comments: "And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not" ( I Timothy 5:13).

How To Tips / The Cure For Gossip
August 26, 2009, 06:22:55 AM
First, realize how much God hates gossip. Gossip-related sins appear three times on God's "hit list" of the six most abominable things He hates: "A lying tongue... a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren" (Bible verses Proverbs 6:17-19).

God hates to see His children hurting one another. Yet He sees some of us day in and day out destroying one another with gossip. He wants a cease-fire of the tongues. God wants you to have the same attitude He has against gossip. So the first step toward stopping gossip is to hate it, because it hurts people. Once you come to hate gossip, then...

Repent of gossip. Perhaps you don't think about this as often as you should, but gossip is sin. Almighty God thunders in His Ninth Commandment, "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" (Bible verse Exodus 20:16). A main thrust of this commandment focuses on the harm done to one's neighbor by the types of accusation and slander that make up gossip.

James explains: "Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge" (Bible verse James 4:11). Gossiping is bearing false witness, and that brings the death penalty (Bible verse Romans 6:23). So realize that gossip is sin. Repent and determine never to gossip again.

Realize the source. As we saw earlier, Satan originated gossip. No Christian wants to be an instrument of the devil. Yet when you gossip you are being used by Satan. He not only started gossip, he now perpetuates it through humans (Bible verse Ephesians 2:2).

The next time you are tempted to gossip, think about the source and bite your tongue.

Don't listen. Not only should you repent of gossiping, you should stop listening to gossip. Don't fool yourself. Just as it takes two to tango, it takes two to gossip ---- one to talk and one to listen. Gossip would stop instantly if everyone would stop listening. It's no fun gossiping to yourself!

Listen to John's instruction: "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds" (Bible verses II John 10-11).

Just listening to gossip makes you an accomplice. If anyone comes to you with gossip, do not listen. As gently and tactfully as possible, tell the person that the subject matter does not concern you and you'd rather not discuss it. Be as firm as necessary. The person will quickly get the message ---- and the gossiping will stop.

Detect gossip. To stop gossip, you must recognize it. But how? God has provided you with a gossip-detection system. Let's take a look at that system, described in Bible verse Philippians 4:8. The first criteria for proper communication is that it be true. You should not listen to or say anything that is not true. In fact, you or the person telling you should be able to prove that it is true. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" (Bible verse I Thessalonians 5:21, KJV). If it can't be proven, it shouldn't be listened to or spoken of.

But what if it is true? Should you get involved? Not unless it's noble. The information should not in any way tarnish the character, name or reputation of another person. Any hint of disrespect should set off an alarm in your mind that shouts "Gossip!" Paul goes even further by declaring that the information must be just. This means you should not discuss or listen to discussions about the sins of others. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," says Bible verse Romans 3:23. "He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates the best of friends" (Bible verse Proverbs 17:9).

Another important part of our gossip detection system is purity. The words must be pure. In our sick society, blasphemy and profanity almost have become proper etiquette. "Their throat is an open tomb... whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness" (Bible verses Proverbs 3:13-14).

God does not want His people listening to or spreading dirty words or stories. Keep your ears and mouth pure. Accept only lovely things into your mind ---- things that effect you and others in a positive, uplifting way. Make sure the words you speak and hear are of good report. Bad news bombards us constantly. Human nature seems to thrive on bad news. "For their heart devises violence, and their lips talk of troublemaking" (Bible verse Proverbs 24:2). Paul tells us to avoid bad reports.

Use the gossip detectors of truth, honor, righteousness, purity, loveliness and good reports to stop gossip.

Speak to edify. In the same Bible verse 8 of Philippians 4, Paul says that we should speak words of virtue. Virtuous words are words of excellence and value, words that produce good fruits, that build up the speaker, listener and everyone else.

Speak words of praise ---- words that praise the great works of God. Talk about His great creation in all of his wonderful glory. Talk about God's Work on earth today ---- the Work that's spreading the good news of the Kingdom of God. Speak words of praise about the good in other people. Encourage others to do their best. Comfort other people when they are discouraged.

In short, use your tongue to bring life ---- not death!

Now you know what gossip is. You know its source. You even know why you gossip. More importantly you know how to stop gossip. So work to stop this heinous crime!

At the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, the sport of canoe racing was added to the list of international competitions. The favorite team in the four-man canoe race was the United States team. One member of that team was a young man by the name of Bill Havens.

As the time for the Olympics neared, it became clear that Bill's wife would give birth to their first child about the time that the U.S. team would be competing in the Paris games. In 1924 there were no jet airliners from Paris to the United States, only slow ocean going ships. And so Bill found himself in a dilemma. Should he go to Paris and risk not being at his wife's side when their baby was born? Or should he withdraw from the team and remain with his family?

Bill's wife insisted that he go to Paris. After all, competing in the Olympics was the culmination of a life long dream. But Bill felt conflicted and, after much soul searching, decided to withdraw from the competition and remain home, where he could support his wife when the child arrived. He considered being at her side his highest priority, even higher than going to Paris to fulfill his dream.

As it turned out, the United States four-man canoe team won the gold medal in Paris. And Bill's wife was late in giving birth to their child. She was so late, in fact, that Bill could have competed in the event and returned home in time to be with her when she gave birth.

People said, "What a shame." But Bill said he had no regrets. For the rest of his life, he believed he had made the better decision.

Bill Havens knew what was most important to him. Not everybody figures that out. And he acted on what he believed was best. Not everybody has the strength of character to say no to something he or she truly wants in order to say yes to something that truly matters. But for Bill, it was the only way to peace; the only way to no regrets.

There is an interesting sequel to the story of Bill Havens...

The child eventually born to Bill and his wife was a boy, whom they named Frank. Twenty eight years later, in 1952, Bill received a cablegram from Frank. It was sent from Helsinki, Finland, where the 1952 Olympics were being held. The cablegram read: "Dad, I won. I'm bringing home the gold medal you lost while waiting for me to be born."

Frank Havens had just won the gold medal for the United States in the canoe racing event, a medal his father had dreamed of winning but never did. Like I said, no regrets.

Thomas Kinkade eloquently said, "When we learn to say a deep, passionate yes to the things that really matter, then peace begins to settle onto our lives like golden sunlight sifting to a forest floor."

Inspiration & Hope / The Journey To The Soul

The Journey of the Soul

Your heart is filled with pain,
Your mind cluttered with confusion.

Pieces of your life fall around you
Like raindrops in a storm.

The path you chose so long ago
Led you straight to hurts door.

Now your weary feet struggle
To find the road back home,
Searching for the places
That love and beauty hide.

Temptations lie in wait all around,
Pulling at your every step,
Waiting for you to slide back
From the chosen, sought for, path.

Emptiness surrounds you,
Confusing your perceptions.
It is difficult to carry on.

I will do my best to fill your heart with joy,
To clear the cobwebs of confusion,
Help you find your purpose.

I am good at catching pieces
And I can chase away a storm.

Let me walk your path beside you,
I have walked this road before.

You can lean on me when the weariness comes.
My shoulders are very strong.

I can not fight your battles,
Or chase away demons of the soul,
But I can lend you my strength
Until you find your own.

I will help you find the courage
To face each day anew.

I can not shorten the journey you must make,
The road is just as long as before.

But I can fill the emptiness
And help you reach your center,
The place where love and beauty hide.

Take my hand, be my friend,
Let me walk with you awhile.

Inspiration & Hope / That's What Friends Do
August 26, 2009, 06:04:43 AM
Jack* tossed the papers on my desk -- his eyebrows knit into a straight line as he glared at me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He jabbed a finger at the proposal. "Next time you want to change anything, ask me first," he said, turning on his heels and leaving me stewing in anger.

How dare he treat me like that, I thought. I had changed one long sentence, and corrected grammar -- something I thought I was paid to do.

It's not that I hadn't been warned. The other women, who had served in my place before me, called him names I couldn't repeat. One co-worker took me aside the first day. "He's personally responsible for two different secretaries leaving the firm," she whispered.

As the weeks went by, I grew to despise Jack. It was against everything I believed in -- turn the other cheek and love your enemies. But Jack quickly slapped a verbal insult on any cheek turned his way. I prayed about it, but to be honest, I wanted to put him in his place, not love him.

One day, another of his episodes left me in tears. I stormed into his office, prepared to lose my job if needed, but not before I let the man know how I felt. I opened the door and Jack glanced up.

"What?" he said abruptly.

Suddenly I knew what I had to do. After all, he deserved it.

I sat across from him. "Jack, the way you've been treating me is wrong. I've never had anyone speak to me that way. As a professional, it's wrong, and it's wrong for me to allow it to continue," I said. Jack snickered nervously and leaned back in his chair. I closed my eyes briefly. God help me, I prayed.

"I want to make you a promise. I will be a friend," I said. "I will treat you as you deserve to be treated, with respect and kindness. You deserve that," I said. "Everybody does." I slipped out of the chair and closed the door behind me.

Jack avoided me the rest of the week. Proposals, specs, and letters appeared on my desk while I was at lunch, and the corrected versions were not seen again. I brought cookies to the office one day and left a batch on Jack's desk. Another day I left a note. "Hope your day is going great," it read.

Over the next few weeks, Jack reappeared. He was reserved, but there were no other episodes. Co-workers cornered me in the break room.

"Guess you got to Jack," they said. "You must have told him off good." I shook my head.

"Jack and I are becoming friends," I said in faith. I refused to talk about him. Every time I saw Jack in the hall, I smiled at him. After all, that's what friends do.

One year after our "talk", I discovered I had breast cancer. I was 32, the mother of three beautiful young children, and scared. The cancer had metastasized to my lymph nodes and the statistics were not great for long-term survival. After surgery, I visited with friends and loved ones who tried to find the right words to say. No one knew what to say. Many said the wrong things. Others wept, and I tried to encourage them. I clung to hope.

One day, the door darkened in my small hospital room and Jack stood awkwardly on the threshold. I waved him in with a smile and he walked over to my bed and, without a word, placed a bundle beside me. Inside lay several bulbs.

"Tulips," he said.

I smiled, not understanding.

He cleared his throat. "If you plant them when you get home, they'll come up next spring." He shuffled his feet. "I just wanted you to know that I think you'll be there to see them when they come up."

Tears clouded my eyes and I reached out my hand. "Thank you," I whispered.

Jack grasped my hand and gruffly replied, "You're welcome. You can't see it now, but next spring you'll see the colors I picked out for you." He turned and left without a word.

I have seen those red and white striped tulips push through the soil every spring for over ten years now. In fact, this past September the doctor declared me cured. I've seen my children graduate from high school and enter college. I've celebrated twenty-two years of marriage with my husband.

In a moment when I prayed for just the right word, a man with very few words said all the right things.

After all, that's what friends do.

He was the only apostle and follower of Christ Jesus that walked on water.
By The Spirit of God The Father's Divine Grace, he walked on water.

Blessed Peter the Rock, to me, represents totality.
His totality in holy life
and his totality in human frailties.

Christ Jesus knew this.
Christ knew that Peter would abandon him and deny him before the cocked crowed 3 times, Christ also knew that Peter was human and plagued with the sins and the frailties that mankind was deemed and guaranteed to suffer.

But it is Peter's confidence in Christ Jesus that we see in Matthew that he confessed that Christ was the CHRIST. The Son of The Living God.
Christ remarked and said to him, "Blessed are you Simon Bar Jonah, for it was revealed to you by the Spirit of My Father. And You are Simon Peter, and upon this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH. And not even the gates of Hell can overpower it." :)

Peter is the confesser,
Peter is man totally,
Peter is a holy man of the Cloth
Peter is the Vicor of Christ,
And upon his chair is the Holy See,

How powerful
How humbling.

The First Priest of the Holy Roman Catholic Church
was the First Apostle of Christ.
And the First Confessor of Christ's Divine Grace.

Gen 3:15 (The first prophecy in the Bible, Jesus was to be that seed of the woman)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV)

Gen 22:18 (Jesus was the promised seed of Abraham)
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (KJV)

Gen 26:4 (In Jesus, the seed of Abraham through Isaac, the whole world is blessed)
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; (KJV)

Gen 49:10 (The sceptre [scepter] denotes King, Shiloh means Peace; Jesus is the King of Peace)
10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (KJV)

Num 21:6-9 (This was a 'type' of Jesus Christ, see [John 3:12-16])
6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. (KJV)

Num 24:17 (Jesus was a descendant of Jacob from Isaac, from Abraham; Jesus was the King from Israel)
17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. (KJV)

Deut 18:15 (Jesus was sent from God in the form of a man)
15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; (KJV)

Ps 16:9-11 (Jesus was The Holy One whose resurected body did not decay; He is now at the right hand of God forever)
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (KJV)

Ps 22:all (The entire Psalm 22 is Christ on the cross, written 1000 years ahead of time)

Ps 22:1 (Christ's first words from the cross, God did not forsake Jesus, nor was Jesus implying so, but rather, Jesus was drawing our attention the this Psalm as He hung on the cross. Below we supply the New Testament Scripture were Jesus fulfills this Psalm)
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? (KJV)

Matt 27:46 (Prophecy fulfilled 1000 years later. Jesus uses pure Hebrew with one Aramaic verb)
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (KJV)

Ps 22:14 (Blood and water from Jesus' side. Bones out of joint from hanging on the cross)
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. (KJV)

Ps 22:16 (Christ's hands and feet pierced as He was nailed to the cross)
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. (KJV)

Ps 22:18 (This was fulfilled with Jesus in [Luke 23:34] below. The psalms are dated to 1000B.C.)
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. (KJV)

Luke 23:34 (The prophecy fulfilled in Christ Jesus)
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. (KJV)

Ps 132:11 (Jesus, the descendant of David would sit on the Heavenly Throne)
11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. (KJV)

Isa 7:14 (Immanuel in Hebrew means: 'God with us'. Jesus Christ (Jehoshua Christos) means: 'God Savior', The Anointed One. These titles are in two different languages but are the same thing. Jesus is Immanuel - God with us. Below this Scripture we supply the fulfillment of it with Jesus Christ.)
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (KJV)

Matt 1:21 (self explanatory)
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (KJV)

Luke 1:30-35 (self explanatory)
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (KJV)

Isa 9:6-7 (self explanatory)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (KJV)

Isa 40:10-11 (self explanatory)
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. (KJV)

Isa 50:6 (Jesus flogged [Matt 27:26]. Jesus mocked [Mat 27:29] Jesus spit upon [Mat 27:30])
6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. (KJV)

Isa 52:13-15 (Jesus was beaten much worse than was normal Roman punishment, but His blood covers us all as a cleansing before the Lord God)
13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. (KJV)

Isa 53:1-12 (Jesus would come appearing as a simple flesh man, not as the Mighty and Noble Son of God that He truly was)
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (KJV)

Isa 60:21 (Jesus is the Branch [Jer 23:5-6]. See next Scripture)
21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. (KJV)

Jer 23:5-6 (self explanatory)
5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. (KJV)

Jer 33:14-15 (Jesus, the Branch, was a descendant of David)
14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. (KJV)

Ezek 34:23 (Jesus is that Shepherd for all time, even over his ancestor David. See below Scripture)
23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. (KJV)

Matt 22:42-46 (Jesus is Lord over all, even David, His ancestor)
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. (KJV)

Ezek 37:25 (Jesus, the ancestor of David would reign forever)
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. (KJV)

Ezek 37:24-25 (Jesus' ancestors being used to refer to Him. Only Jesus reigns eternally, this did not Jacob and David do. They died. Jesus died, resurrected and sits at the right (the power hand) hand of God on the throne. This Is not so of Jacob or David)
24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. (KJV)

Dan 9:24-26

This is probably one of the more powerful witnesses that Jesus Christ was in fact The Messiah. This prophesies the exact year of Jesus Christ's crucifixion (who would not even be born for another four hundred and some odd years from the time of this writing).

Below, each week is seven years. In verse 25 you have seven weeks [seven sevens = 49 years] and three score and two weeks [62 weeks is 62 sevens = 434 years].

So you have: "that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem" till : "shall Messiah be cut off" , is 69 weeks [69 sevens] = 483 years. The command to restore the Temple was given in 454 B.C. [Neh 2:1 &2:18].

Therefore, from the command to restore the Temple in 454 B.C. to the crucifixion of the Messiah in A.D. 29 you have exactly 483 years as prophesied. Below is that prophecy:

Dan 9:24-26
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (KJV)

Micah 5:2 (Jesus was the one who "came out of thee")
2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (KJV)

Micah 7:18-20 (speaking of the Messiah Jesus Christ)
18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. (KJV)

Zech 6:12-13 (self explanatory, Jesus is the BRANCH)
12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (KJV)

Zech 9:9 (The first Advent of Christ, fulfilled in [John 12:15-16] below)
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. (KJV)

John 12:15-16 (Jesus fulfills the prophecy)
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. (KJV)

Zech 9:10 (The second Advent of Christ yet to be fulfilled, see [Rev19:11-16])
10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. (KJV)

Zech 12:8-10 (Second Advent, see [Rev 1:7-8])
8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. (KJV)

Zech 13:7 (Jesus is the Shepherd, the 12 Disciples were the sheep, fulfilled in [Matt 26:31 & 56] below)
7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. (KJV)

Matt 26:31
31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. (KJV)

Matt 26:56
56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. (KJV)

Mal 3:1-4 (John the Baptist, in the spirit of Elijah, came before Jesus, see [Luke 1:13-17 & Luke 3:15-17])
1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years. (KJV)

Mal 4:2-6 (Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness, the Bright and Morning Star*, the Star of David)
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. (KJV)

I was not attracted to Tridentine Mass before, Manay. In fact I never knew Latin several years ago.

But I was attracted to it this year (last year 2008 and now in 2009).

It is indeed so beautiful.

It is Roman Catholic Mass as it was practiced for over 2000 years.

Answer!

When God created the world, it was perfect and good. Then he made Adam and Eve and gave them their own free will, so they would have a choice whether to follow and obey God. But they were tempted by Satan to disobey God, and they sinned. This separated them (and everyone that came after them, including us) from being able to have a close relationship with God. He is perfect and holy and must judge sin. As sinners, we couldn't reconcile ourselves to God on our own. So God made a way that we could be united with Him in heaven. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus was born to die for our sins so that we would not have to. Three days after His death, He rose from the grave (Romans 4:25), proving Himself victorious over death. He bridged the gap between God and man so that we may have a personal relationship with Him if we only believe.

"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent" (John 17:3). Most people believe in God, even Satan does. But to receive salvation, we must turn to God, form a personal relationship, turn away from our sins, and follow Him. We must trust in Jesus with everything we have and everything we do. "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference" (Romans 3:22). The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) â€" the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

I have attended a Tridentine Mass, which was in Latin.

Utterly and solemnly beautiful.

The incorruptibles are a handful of Catholic Saints who have died throughout the years, yet their bodies, or parts of their dead bodies, will not decay or surrender to decomposition as a normal body would. One human relic even dates back to the year 1381, the head of Saint Catherine of

Siena. These bodies had not gone through any embalming or mummification methods to prevent them from decomposition, yet their bodies, or some parts of their bodies, remain intact.

It is said that many of the incorruptibles bodies died from violent matters or harsh diseases. A lot of the bodies had been buried regularly within damp conditions, to be exhumed on a far later date. When these bodies were finally exhumed, a lot of them had their clothes disintegrated from bad burial conditions, yet their bodies remained the same, and sometimes looked as if they were still alive, or had just passed on.

There are other phenomenons that are associated with the corruptibles as well. These amazing feats include lack of rigor mortis, an sweet fragrant smell coming from the incoruptibles bodies, scenes of bleeding far after passing, some bodies have become warm long after death, and highly rare movement of limbs long after death as well, which also have been heavily associated with blessings. Some even say there have been extremely rare cases of talking as well.

A lot of these saints or blessed people had harsh lives as well. For example, the "Blessed Margaret of Castello" was born a blind, crippled dwarf. After being born she was disowned by her parents who happened to be the Lords in a small village in Italy. Due to her limbs not being the same length, she developed a limp, which later advanced her into a hunchback. Margaret was allowed to roam the castle where her parents lived under the care of the servants, but she could not make contact with her parents. Later in life she was thrown in a custom made cell by her parents for years.

Another example is Saint Bernadette, who was born into a poor family in 1844. She suffered greatly from sicknesses and diseases throughout her life.

Doctors were at hand during these exhumations as well. In the exhumation of Bernadette the doctor, Doctor Jourdan, a surgeon, wrote this about the exhumation experience:

"The coffin was opened in the presence of the Bishop of Nevers, the mayors of the town several canons and ourselves. We noticed no smell. The body was clothed in the habit of Bernadette's order. The habit was damp. Only the face, hands and forearms were uncovered. The head was tilted to the left. The face was dull white. The mouth was open slightly and it could be seen that the teeth were still in place. The hands, which were crossed upon the breast, were perfectly preserved, as were the nails. The hands still held a rusting Rosary. The veins on the forearms stood out." (Doctor Jourdan, 1909).

I shake in wonder in the fact that for almost 2 thousand years the body of St. Silvan The Martyr of Christ has been perfectly preserved!

St. Silvan was a religious worker in life, preaching the word and promises of Christ.

He is preserved so perfectly because he died in peace and in total love of Christ Jesus.

Who did not allow his body to decay.

St. Silvan The Martyr of Christ was martyred in ~ AD. 310.
Almost 2 thousand years ago!
Yet his body has not decayed!

GOD IS GREAT!

Bible Study / Eucharistic Miracle in Lanciano, Italy
August 25, 2009, 05:14:07 PM

In 8th Century Italy, in the village of what is now Lanciano, there was a monastery named St. Longinus. A monk who had begun to have real doubts about Jesus' real presence in the Eucharist was celebrating Mass at the monastery. As he spoke the words of the consecration the host changed into a circle of "flesh" surrounding the remaining Eucharist and the wine transformed into visible "blood". The "flesh" remained intact but the "blood" subsequently divided into five separate globules. The monk was reinvigourated in his faith as he witnessed this transformation. He later decided to weigh the "blood" globules and found to his amazement that any combination of the globules was equal in weight to any other combination and that the smallest globule weighed exactly the same as the largest - clearly defying any natural explanation. The "flesh" and "blood" have been maintained in special containers housed in the monastery and its successors ever since. In a modern evaluation of this "flesh" and "blood" conducted by several Italian university professors in 1970 under rigorous conditions, they found the following:

•the container that held the "flesh" was not hermetically sealed so that the Eucharistic host at the center of the "flesh" was no longer present. Further, the "blood" globules had hardened and no unusual weight differences were noted.

•samples were taken of both the "flesh" and the "blood" and were sent to a number of laboratories for microscopic, biochemical and other scientific evaluation.

•the "flesh" was found to be striated muscular tissue of the myocardium (the wall of the heart), of human origin and contained absolutely no trace of any substances that could have been used to preserve it. It was Flesh indeed!

•the "blood" sample was found to be human blood, type AB. The flesh was found to be of the same type as well.It was truly Blood!

•the proteins found in the blood sample were consistent with proteins found in fresh human blood.

Despite the fact that the container housing the flesh and blood from the Eucharist was not hermetically sealed, the samples were not at all damaged and could have been taken from a fresh cadaver. Thus, for more than 1200 years the physical reality of Jesus real presence in the Eucharist has been preserved for all to observe and renew their faith.

hahaha. In the springs ALL the people were staring at me and my gf and I like to pass unnoticed, so I went down to the sea, but well after 15 minutes there were lot of people in the edge of the springs staring again so we just ate and went to walk around before going back to tagbilaran lol.

The funniest thing is I had lot of crazy and funny experiences all around the island. And I did something the filipinos in spain told me not to do lol. I went in all the public trasports lol.

I remember this moment as if was yesterday. I am in the bus station of tagbilaran with my gf, she says "is that bus" and then I thought "omg I am gonna die XD" then I go inside and the driver says "you to the front, to the front" then he gets inside smiles me and I see how he turns the engine doing a bridge with the wires hahahaha. then I had another experience with the "stops" :)

SOmebody screams and hit the metal with keys or something and the bus brakes suddently, but after 30 meters another do that. and in 15 meter another one. so for a 3 km ride you need lot of time. then starts to rain but the bus has no windows. Solution have a kind of window made of wood so you do not see anything outside. But we had to go out soon so we say if the guy with the money call tell us when we arrive. He ask where and we do not really know if we do not see outside we said "when you see rice fields" cause is what we remember was after that and before the house so we were in the middle of nowhere with a huge storm and those wasn´t the rice fields we meant cause no houses at all. hahahaha

Was lot of fun.

Sorry for the offtopic.

Saint Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney the Cure of Ars
Pray for Us!

Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney was born in 1786 as the son of a poor farmer in the village of Dardilly, France. During his childhood he worked as a shepherd and didn't get any education until he was 20 years old.

John had always felt a call to the priesthood. His eventual entry into the seminary, especially the study of Latin, however proved to be very difficult and he twice failed his examination before finally being ordained as a priest in 1815. Thought to be incompetent, John was placed under the direction of another priest in the neighboring village. After the death of this priest in 1818, John was transferred to the remote tiny village of Ars to be the parish priest.

Here he lived a very ascetic life, ate the simplest food, wore old clothing and only slept two hours each night on a hard bed. The number of parishioners grew rapidly, as the word spread that this holy man could see into people's souls. People began coming to him from other parishes, then from all parts of France, and finally from other countries. Throughout France and the Christian world he soon became known as the "Cure d'Ars" (the Cure of Ars).

By the year 1855, Fr. Vianney was hearing as many as 20,000 confessions a year, spending 13 to 16 hours a day in the confessional. His direction was characterized by common sense, remarkable insight, and supernatural knowledge. As the news continued to spread, the sick were brought to Ars and many were miraculously cured.

During 30 years, Fr. Vianney claimed to experience frequent attacks of the devil. Voices, strange noises, threats, furniture being thrown about and many other demonic assaults took place almost every night. Besides all this external suffering, Fr. Vianney had physical ailments such as severe headaches, rheumatism, toothaches, fever and exhaustion.

The heroic self-sacrifice of Fr. Vianney eventually led to his death. At the age of 73 he began to have fainting spells. By the end of July he could no longer rise from his bed. Four days later on August 4, 1859, Fr. Vianney died.

Fr. Vianney was declared Venerable 13 years after his death. In 1904 when his body was exhumed and found to be incorrupt although the flesh had dried up and darkened. To this day the incorrupt body can be seen, encased in glass on a marble Altar, in Ars. In 1905 Fr. Vianney was declared Blessed. And finally in 1925 he became Saint John Marie Vianney.

If the Lord can preserve even mortal flesh from decay, can he not raise us back to life again at the last day? Truly these signs are meant to inspire us to believe in the power of God who had not let decay touch His servants.

Saint Vincent De Paul

Vincent de Paul was born around 1580 in the village of Pouy in Gascony, southwest France, into to a poor peasant family. Being a highly intelligent youth, Vincent was allowed to spend four years with the Franciscan friars at Acqs getting an education. In 1596 he began theological studies at the University of Toulouse and was ordained priest in 1600 at the age of 20.

Returning by sea from a journey to Marseilles in 1605, he was captured by Turkish pirates who took him to Tunis, where he was sold as a slave. Two years later he managed to escape together with his master, a renegade whom he had converted to Christianity.
After returning to France, he served as parish priest near Paris where he founded several organizations to help the poor, nurse the sick, finding jobs for the unemployed, etc.

Vincent de Paul died in Paris in 1660.

He was almost eighty years old when he died in Paris, in 1660. His body was found to be incorrupt fifty years after his death.

The Tomb of Blessed Simon Peter "Cephas" The Rock!

The 1st Apostle of Christ.
The First Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

The very man who saw CHRIST JESUS.
The very man who walked on water with Christ Jesus.

Matthew 16:13-19
13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ 14And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, but others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ 15He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ 16Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah,* the Son of the living God.’ 17And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you, you are Peter,* and on this rock* I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.’

Saint Bernadette Soubirous

Bernadette, born in 1844 of very poor parents in the town of Lourdes, France, spent most of her childhood in poor health. As she grew older, she was very slow at her studies and lost much school time due to severe asthma attacks.  On February 11, 1858, when Bernadette was sent with her younger sister and a friend to gather firewood, she saw a very beautiful Lady standing above a rose bush in a grotto at Massabielle. The lovely Lady, dressed in blue and white, smiled at Bernadette and then made the sign of the cross with a rosary of ivory and gold. Bernadette fell on her knees, took out her own rosary, and began to pray. The beautiful Lady was God’s Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. She appeared to Bernadette during seventeen other apparitions; and during one of the last of these appearances, she instructed Bernadette to go further into the grotto and begin digging in the dirt with her hands. At first nothing happened; but soon the miraculous fountain, now known as the “Fountain of Lourdes,” began to flow forth from the ground where Bernadette had dug.

At the age of twenty-two, Bernadette became a Sister of Charity at Nevers, France. Although besieged by many of the faithful, she sought God in the silence of the cloister, serving Him in humility under the vows of her profession as a Sister of Charity. She lived in the convent for thirteen years, spending a large portion of this time ill in the infirmary. When a fellow nun accused her of being a “lazybones,” Bernadette said, “My job is to be ill.”

Sister Bernadette died on the 16th of April in 1879.  On the feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 1933, Bernadette was canonized, thus fulfilling the promise that the Blessed Mother had made to her in 1858: “I do not promise to bring you happiness in this world, but in the next.”

Blessed Imelda Lambertini

Imelda, daughter of Count Egano Lambertini and Castora Galuzzi, was born in the year 1322 at Bologna, Italy. At an early age Imelda’s heart was turned toward God. Even though she lived in the days when it was not permitted to receive the Holy Eucharist until the age of fourteen, young Imelda’s greatest desire was to receive Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Oh how she longed and longed to receive Our Lord! When Imelda was under ten years old, she begged her father to allow her to enter the Dominican convent; and after much pleading, he finally consented to her desire.

Once in the convent, she again began to plead to receive Communion. Time and time again she received the same disappointment. “No, Sister Imelda, you are too young…” At the convent she took on many odd jobs. She attended the gate for the poor, she scrubbed the floors, and she did all that was asked of herâ€"all for the honor and glory of almighty God.

On the 12th of May in the year 1333, when attending Mass with all of her Sisters, Imelda had the strongest desire to receive Our Lord. At the end of Mass, when all of the Sisters were leaving, they noticed Sister Imelda lovingly gazing toward the locked tabernacle. Some of the nuns looked at Imelda and noticed something white hovering above her. It was a Host. The nuns immediately notified the priest, who hurriedly came and carefully took the Host out of the air and placed It on a paten. Then he had no choice but to give the Host to Imelda. It was obviously God’s Will that she receive her first holy Communion. This first reception also proved to be her last; the rapture with which she received Our Lord was so great that it burst her heart. Imelda sank to the ground, unconscious. And when loving hands upraised her, it was found that she was dead.  Blessed Imelda is the Patroness of First Communicants; and her beautifully incorrupt body can be seen in the Church of St. Sigismund at Bologna, Italy.
