mao gyud ni ang reason i changed my mind and will vote for Montano instead of Chatto... if tatay billy will ask ngano, i will ask him to read ang mga gipsuwat sa mga supporters ni chatto diri para makasabot siya. FYI: tatay billy is chatto's chief of staff and a good friend of mine

then he should be told of this. i knew some of chatto's staff when he was vice-gov and i use to go to bohol for a research project which is closely working with UP alumni in bohol of which edgar was the president. i can say that they are decent people and brilliant, too, since a few are graduates of UP Diliman. asa na man kaha ni sila ron.

from the chatto campaign i know ae damalerio whose elder brother is my high school classmate and younger brother abel (whos running for board member) is a fellow alumni from UP Cebu. but the ones we have here in TB have questionable manners and self-deluded j***s. i know chatto's a good candidate but i am a supporter of the liberal party so my support goes to them. that's that

Good luck cesar! I appreciate your concern for the boholanos but i think you're not that knowledgeable and skilled yet to administer a province. Foucs first on your career being an artists and a husband. Opppsssss i mean good husband ha. Yeah yeah yeah...The victory is near to come...

papogi na pud na imong kandidato kang cesar kay si noynoy may dumadaug pagka-presidente pohon :)

as an artist, he has no more to prove but surely has everything to improve his craft because that is in his character

as a husband, that's personal let's leave it aside; stick to your party's positive campaign strategy

no knowledge to administer a province? your candidate has? gobernador na diay na sa una? we're  not talking of a naive person here but a very successful artist and businessman and a known philanthropist. his promotion of bohol to the international community is a known fact.

try to think harder and longer, think outside of the box

victory is coming to your candidate and surely you're part of the windfall or as you liken this election to war, the spoils of it goes to the victor. but only minor spoils for you.

as to bigger spoils, prepare your begging bowl and fall in line. bohol, dont worry, give cesar votes he can be proud of and you will not be forgotten by he who is "nanaghoy sa suba" pohon :)

i have not been using it this way in a long time. this is more apt for private companies, i think.

based on experience of applying in government offices here, dili ni mo-matter nga pamaagi sa pagpang-apply. competency based man god diri. you have to provide evidences for each competency they are looking for.

hinuon, pwede ni sa gitawag ug speculative job application

sige lang, bisag quixotic at least he's giving it a chance this time. para nako maayo pud ning naay 'third force' or alternatibong paga-tan awon sa mga katawhan. basin ra unyag maka-lusot. wishful thinking i know but given the other two leading candidates, montano is like a fresh breeze that cools bohol electorate bisan ug sa makarijo ra.

besides, he also has the big role of safeguarding noynoy's vote. kung buligan siya sa mga bol-anon ug hatagan ug respectable no. of votes who knows basin mobawos pod siya unya kung si noynoy na ang presidente.

WHAT CAN HE DO?...being a governor is not like being a host or an actor,he has no experienced to lead...if he has an experienced even being a mayor, well i will vote for him...many people said we will try him...no! its a big mistake, what do you think about leading a certain province?do you think it is like a game that if you will failed  you will try again...?it is a very risky to try an inexperienced person to lead a province...if it is for brgy. captain well its ok...cesar is ok, he is a good person, but again he has no experienced, if he will win i am sure that they will used him....my advice for cesar is he should run first as a mayor in their town so that we can see what can he do,because it is very risky to try and being a governor is a very difficult task...

ang ikatinga jud, why just rent a house in Bohol, then put-up a mansion in Cebu, if you're heart is not for Cebu...si Herrera just like YAP niabot lang sa Bohol to run for office...The cebuanos are actually laughing at us kay nagbutang daw tag official nga Cebuano...This should not have been an issue if Herrera had a good performance as a Vice Governor...Daghan baya pod Bol-anon nga elected opisyal sa ubang dapit...sa Davao, daghan sa Mindanao ug pati na sa US...wala silay issue kay ni-perform man...si Herrera mouli man inig-human sa session...aw natural...pero asa man uli?...mao nay problema kay sa Cebu siya mouli...ang iya dughan tua gyud sa paglambo sa Cebu...

Speaking of Cebu, naa na silay Grand Alliance ni EBA ug ni Jumamoy (Mayor & Board Member), the Gonzaga's of Danao, where the headwaters of Inabanga river is, to sell the waters of Inabanga river to Cebu, that's why they are fighting tooth and nails to sit in office...this is a mega project for whom?... for Cebu, the friendship bridge is simply an accessory...that's why, EBA despite his age is running in the second district, that's why Jumamoy would never allow anyone else but themselves to sit in office, the same reason for the Gonzaga's who have a planned hydroelectric program, where the Inabanga river starts to flow. This would spell ENVIRONMENTAL devastation for Bohol.

When this happens, they can sit and retire...as this will be a continuing cash cow, never ending for as long as the water flows...

Have you wondered why EBA was invited to Cebu by Gwen Garcia during Gibo's manifesto signing? This despite the fact that EBA is now an NP undercover? well, here's the deal, if the Garcia's keep their hold in Cebu and the Grand alliance in Bohol, guess what would happen?

So be conscious of the happening, not only in Bohol but the region, the country and the world...
Have you wondered why gipakadak-an jud ni Herrera ang backyard gardening?...this is a manipulative trick to keep the Boholanos' focus on their own turf and backyards...w/o regards for the greater scheme of things...this is part of the grand plan to take water out of Bohol for Cebu...take note, that the reason for backyard gardening is to counteract kuno andg global warming...kalayo ra jud sa tinuod...maayo na lang jud nga wala mogaya...

DI BA LAIN?

hahaha classic gintonic wisdom. personally, i like it when you are a devil's advocate/good cop routine kay naa koy makuhang wisdom gikan nimo. that bad cop routine with trademark was a disaster if you ask me, mate. it's a turn-off. i do like the conspiracy angle, speculative but not improbable. anything goes election season gud ron.

tragedies such as this is highly deplorable and so sad.

i was just listening to the radio earlier on the way to work about the anniversary of the 1996 dunblaine massacre in scotland. a disgraced headmaster entered the school with firearms and shot dead several teachers and 16 children some as young as 5 years old.

this hits home for me as i have a 5 and 7 year old sons in primary school. listening to two parents who lost 5 year old daughters made me a bit emotional because i can relate to it. imagine leaving your bubbly and excited 5 year old in school with kisses and i love yous only to find out later on that they are murdered (which is worst for me), what would you feel?

i dread these things everyday as i left my children in school and thankful that they are home safe after their mom or me picked them up

blood related correct but a simple analogy would be your candidate chatto is associated with late gov lino chatto. did you know that there is bad blood between the late gov and your candidate's dad the late assemblyman kiking? the key words are bad blood, mate. go figure

on the other hand, i wouldnt be surprised if danding will support noynoy over gilbert. he was deeply hurt by his favourite nephew's treachery.

all three of us are montano supporters. i have to go with you on this coz im bias for montano :) but anna&jorge has a point; the way around it is to add an apology liner that says this is a re-post from other threads. i agree lots of threads are similar that it is understandable to just re-post it without explaining. and malicious intent has to be considered, too but its hard to tell as we all are partisan during these elections.

noynoy and gilbert are second cousins they belong to two different branches of the family. cory and danding/gilbert's mom are first cousins.

did you review your recent philippine history? danding was one of the primary suspects in ninoy's murder. cory and danding were estranged because of business rivalry between their parents. does that answer your question?

#359
there is still time to CHANGE your mind. ayokong maBIGO

the one you call GIBO is not what you think he is. nangluod sa NPC kay wa kaugpo ni Chiz mao nga ningbalhin sa PaLaKa.

"Supporters of Gibo have a slogan: “I think, therefore I am for Gibo.” Well, I have thought about it, and thought about it well, and I am not for Gibo.

If you really think about it, there is just nothing in Gibo’s qualifications that would make him the best person to lead the country. His supporters boast of his experience, but he entered politics as a congressman in 1998, the same year as Noynoy, six years behind Villar, and a good 31 years after Erap. Administration loyalists want Gibo to continue Pres. Arroyo’s “good work.” Since Gloria’s declared wealth, since she became senator 17 years ago, has grown by 2,000% (that’s two thousand percent, in case you missed it the first time), I sincerely hope no one gets to continue that kind of work. Some Gibo fans are just enamored with his ability to fly a plane, but all that tells me is that he is tall enough to meet the height requirement and rich enough to pay for flying lessons. Not exactly the same criteria that need to be met by a president.

One of the things that Noynoy Aquino’s detractors always say about him is that he has done nothing significant since he entered public service. For my part, I, too, cannot specifically name anything Gibo has done since he entered public service. (Can you?) I did not even know he existed until he appeared in TV ads for the National Disaster Coordinating Council â€" an agency that, by the way, does not need advertising. His supporters have since accused Noynoy and Villar of spending too much in campaign ads, but let’s not forget that before that schmaltzy “Hindi Ka Nag-Iisa” ad of Noynoy’s came out, before Villar’s catchy tunes and well-produced videos were released, there was Gibo and his public funds-funded NDCC ad."

welcome back lexmar (or are you?)

now you're talking. i accept your argument that i am speculating and over imagining. but aren't we all? this is election season. and why did i speculate? the records of both officials speaks for themselves. we are now looking at a noynoy aquino presidency. it's just normal for local officials to jump ship to the president's party to be able to ask favours for their constituents, as they say onli in da pilipins.

from what i gather (correct me if i'm wrong):

* chatto started KBL then moved to LDP and now PaLaKa.
* herrera was LDP, PaLaKa and now Nacionalista

what was the motivation? so they can obtain favours from the sitting leadership of the country.

so, would you blame me if i "speculate" and "over-imagine" things, to use your words? its not without basis, you know

lastly, ngano gung masuko ko sa kalamay, gimingaw na gani kog kaon ana :)

I'm wondering what the basis are, for your votes?... Montano may hold promise, but he is not winnable this election and its a bit late for you to start campaigning for him, Campos the fourth candidate is just a nuisance,...that leaves herrera and Chatto in the contest...You only have two guys to choose from, if you read through all the posts, and is as tsismoso/sa as most, to believe in the black propa hurled at each other by their alipores...you would say you're in a catch 22 situation, a damn if you do, and damn if you don't dilemna...

Now between the two who is better?...What would be the basis by which you would cast your vote?
Accomplishments?...Performance?...Brilliance?... Manners?...Approachability?...Helpfulness?

Vote Wisely...Choose the better of the answers of the above questions...

DI BA LAIN?

There is the third force to reckon with. Maybe too late in the campaign I can accept that but maybe not as I'm not privy to his campaign sorties but it is still a CHOICE to make by the people. You can't deride his acting abilities and accomplishments and compare it to Chatto's. It's like comparing apples to oranges. But you can't deny that they are excellent, same as Chatto's political accomplishments. I would dare say that his promotion of Bohol at the international level is equal, if not better, to that of Chatto's.

As to brilliance, Chatto is a product of UP but Montano came from the school of hard knocks but still able to finish a degree. And he honed his acting skills at the UP Theatre. Chatto had it easy while Montano has had to deal with his father's early death. But all this hardship had shaped Montano's character and integrity.

Manners?...Approachability?...Helpfulness? Chatto's is political acting while Montano does not need to and may I dare say, it's genuine.

Besides, my main motivationn is CHANGE. It's sweeping world politics at the moment. It's going to happen to the Philippines as a country soon and I wish it would be in Bohol.

Looking forward, what will a Chatto's governorship do in a Aquino presidency? Like it or not, it's still the president who holds the national purse. I will not be surprise that Chatto will cosy up with Montano, who is Aquino's candidate. In any case, it's a win-win situation for Montano. So, at the provincial level, my vote (or to be precise my relatives as my proxy) will not be wasted.

GO GO MONTANO! Looking forward to 2013. Second term that is :)

on the practical side of things, what would a chatto or herrera led bohol do in a noynoy led philippines? di ba moduol ra ni sila ni montano as a go-between? get real, the president still holds the purse so to speak.

fortunate ang bohol in the past kay ang mga governors are allies of the sitting president. so, go montano na tang tanan. if polls are to be believed (they usually reflect the real sentiments), noynoy will win in bohol. can chatto and herrera say to him that it's because of them? only montano can claim part of it because he's noynoy's candidate.

hinuon chatto and herrera are known political butterflies, este survivors diay so i will not be surprised to read one day that they have moved over da bakod to the liberal party.

I will be living in Cebu City for at least three months from June. I have never lived in Cebu but I am looking forward to this working stint for a Japanese consortium in the Philippines. My daughter intends to take up schooling at UP Cebu this school year, so I prefer the Lahug area. Sa atong mga kaubanan sa Cebu, naa ba mo'y marecommend nga apartment nga safe neighborhood para sa mga bata? Mas barato mas OK, 15K~20K ang budget. Thanks!

With your budget you will have no problem getting an apartment in a safe neighborhood around UP Cebu. Ibabaw sa UP naa didtoy mga maayong kapuy-an sama sa giingon ni BNC ug kanang imong nakit-an na.

I myself used to live beside UP Cebu when I studied there. Kilid jud sa UP Cebu duol sa mga kan-anan nga adto-an sa mga estudyante. BNC describes it as unsafe pero sauna ing-ana na man na. Hinuon that was 20+ years na and it was different then, or is it? But I worked there until 2002 and some of my younger frat brods nga mga Bol-anon nga estudyante atong panahona diha ra sad sa duol nagpuyo. Para nako mas duol sa UP Cebu (kana jung kilid sa mga gate) mas safe.

But you have a daughter so it's far safer in an apartment. Jeepney is still a good transpo means (I think) ang importante lang sa Cebu dili magsaya-saya ug pakita sa mga gamit. Kung gabii, mas better siguro jud ang taxi although mahal.

My brother's family lives in Ramos Street. Didto man ko nagpuyo sauna (for years) pud oks ra man mag-jeep pauli. Kung gusto ka, naay daghan mga maayong dormitory duol didto like Clara Marja and the one behind us. Kasagaran mga estudyante sa Velez, Cebu Doc, USC pero ubay-ubay sad didto mga UP Cebu students.

this is a no-brainer. if the poll is about 'who is the MOST qualified...' then may be yes. but then again, whoever is your choice is the HONEST one as long as you did not sell your vote to the highest bidder.

Everything was made and known already before the election was held. Where is democracy here?

i think this is true to 2007 and even before especially during the so-called 'unity period' ni aumentado. but this year's election is different kay mi-resulta na ang 'behind the scenes' scenario during the 'unity' period' nga ninglugwa na jud.

granted nga chatto is a heavy favourite for governorship pero ang recent declaration ni aumentado to support herrera might rock the boat of chatto. aumentado, is after all, a very effective governor of three terms with brilliant records before that.

my candidate montano seems to be nowhere in sight, at least in news media. i get a few scant details on his campaign in facebook. but, you can't discount his candidacy out since he belongs to a political party which seems to be reviving back to its old glory.

para nako morag mas exciting ning eleksyona this year. i maybe wrong coz i rely on news media for my info sources. i dont have political insiders as friends, too. i was hoping i can find good info to digest here in TB but i only get a few from insightful members so far unya gitabunan pa jud sa views sa mga rabid supporters from both chatto and herrera camps.

i am disappointed too 'coz these supporters seems to me THE young professionals full of idealism pero wa man koy bag-ong nakuha. i have to rely on the few oldtimers for better insights on this election campaign.

NAY JUY PROBLEMA ANG CASUALS...you see they are not even considered as government employees, but are hired by the government just the same, under the COA having been hired as contractuals does not qualify them to be government employees...I think COA should do something about this classification so that in the future...dili na sila magamit for campaigning...ang casuals gud are hired in a padrino system..as elected officials use this hiring system to pay back political debts...there are some people who would do everything...for the promise nga mahimong casual pohon...a sad reality tungod sa daghan nga mga hinungdan,..its complicated...hehehe...the educational system nato may be faulted for training graduates to be employees...ang ato direction is not for self-employment...the economy on the other hand can not simply absorb thousands of graduates who are churned out by the system...and other reasons...kaning mga casuals usually are college graduates, nga walay mapa-ingnan as their skills are barely able to meet the needs of business...nga ang pangitaon experience...mag-pacasual na lang aron maka-experience...ug daghan pang hinungdan...

naa jud unta ni sa atong electoral reform law diha siguro, maayo unta na...bitaw i agree its really hard to do away with this padrino system. wa man goy political will diha sa ato-a

naa man rule ana sa atoa jigz. basta connected ka sa gobyerno whether casual or regular or contractual dapat mo refrain ka pag apil apil sa election related activities such as rallies, posting of tarps and so on. mao bitaw pa resignon jud ang mga personnel nga gustong moapil apil sa election.

here's the rule:

Acts of electioneering designed to promote the election or defeat of political candidates are prohibited by the Revised Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Personnel Actions.

They are considered to be grave administrative offenses punishable by dismissal from the service on first offense.

Government workers are banned from using their authority or influence to coerce the political activity of any other person.

In general, they cannot form organizations, associations, clubs, committees or similar groupings to solicit votes or campaign for or against a candidate.

For the same reason, they should also refrain from holding political caucuses, conferences, meetings, rallies, parades or other assemblies.

The CSC said state personnel are also banned from making speeches, announcements or commentaries, and from holding interviews in favor or against a particular candidate.

Direct or indirect solicitation of votes, pledges or support as well as solicitation or receiving of contributions for political purposes are also prohibited.

They should also do away with publishing or distributing campaign materials to support or oppose the election of any political aspirant.

Likewise, government employees are not allowed to be delegates of any political convention and from being officers or members of any political club, committee and other similar political organizations.

They are also prohibited from becoming publicly identified with the success or failure of candidates.

However, they are not prevented from expressing views or current political problems or issues or monitoring the names of candidates they support.

ambot ug naa kay makuha naho kay usab-usab man pud ko depende sa akong ma-absorb nga mga impormasyon.

i'm big in party politics tungod kay naa ko sa UK; my political leanings - socialist, liberal and green (libog no); sa pinas i've been following the liberal party for sometime now unya ang ilang members bug-at man pud ilabi na jud ni sen. salonga. kung di so noynoy ang midagan si mar roxas aho suportahan. wa pa koy gisuportahan nga presidential candidate nga mingdaug basin karon pa. in the past i voted for/supported salonga, lim, roco and roco. common theme for choosing? integrity
