to the spineless s.o.b,

I saw how you treated your wife as i came back from my cycling route today. You are disgusting , and truly are a spineless, cowardly son of a bitch. truly you deserve that name. What kind of man would lay a hand on a woman?

You sir, below the pile of manure that is used to plow the fields of the southwestern Illinois farmlands.

Truly.

Dear Amber,

The reason why I never formally asked you out was because you were giving me mixed signals. I hated that about you.
And despite having a crush on you for quite some time , and going on dates, i think it was for the best that we never formalized.
To be honest with you, Amber, you always were unbalanced mentally-speaking. And after hearing of your mental break down some time ago,
I am fortunate to have been spared that devastation. I am sorry, but I'm just being honest. Truly.

I guess there is a reason why some 'crushes' and 'flings' never truly materialize into full-blow relationships. For the better, definitely.  :)

Dear A,

I wrote to you prolifically. Poems, short stories, letters inquiring on things. Subtle demands hidden with eloquent descriptions.
I still have your response letters in my old attache briefcase. Do you still have my old letters? Do you still read them from time to time?
Or have you burned them to a cinder?

A,

I must admit. When I took you out to the Republican Winter Formal in 2004, when I picked you up from your dorm, seeing you in your red dress had an effect on me. I admit, i had to contain myself. Control myself. Because, A, I had an urge to rip your clothes off. You were, and you are...exceedingly sexy.

A woman with such a curvy body as yours...is a deadly combination when you date a very observant man., lol.

Dear K,

Do you remember the time we went snow tubing by Saegerstown ? You know, i never really wanted to go out with the rest of the guys that night. I mean, seriously. Who wants to go out at 10 pm at night to go snow tubing in the middle of a snowfest (and a coming blizzard), when that night could have been spent snuggling with me in my apartment watching movies. But no. You had to drag me out to snow tube, lol. What did we get out of that night besides a cold and frost bitten lips? There was no fun in that at all.

Additionally, I found the company that you were with quite ...not to my liking.

Dear K,

It was a cold and frigid Allegheny Winter in January 06 that i met you. Weren't we on our way to Professor Anne's English Lit class? Oh i forget where, we were walking to, but i could distinctly remember seeing your multi-colored winter hat as we trekked to class.
I don't really know why we had a falling out, but all i can remember of you was how red your hair was, how bright your green eyes were.
And your lips, as pink as your cheeks...

oh the kisses..

Miss me?

Dear A,

Do you remember the times we used to sit in the top floor of Ford Chapel?
The discussions we had, the laughter shared, the bouts of rage we expressed on the then-current administration.
Oh yes, they seem quite fresh in my mind. Your departure for England that summer 2005 ended what was a growing connection.
A kiss shared, a kiss given, a kiss taken.

Then I was too reserved, too defensive at that time to allow my heart to trust after the pain that was caused to me from a past fling, and then the guilt of the hurt i caused on another. It was a shame we never proceeded, however, things happen for a reason.

I am happy to hear that you are almost finished your 3rd year of Law School. You always were a woman of refined taste....

Admiration and respect,

You are the worst mistake of my life. A complete waste of time, energy, finances, and effort. It is true that man comes across pangs of lies , forgone conclusion to trust, and these were manifested in my time with you. Despite fleshly pleasures, you offered nothing worth while.
Walking away from you wast the best decision in my life. Tis a shame I did not do it sooner.

writes a writer with purple cup on hand
face on book
with sniffling nose
with eyes shielded by glasses black as chairs on floor

With silent observation
with typing sound
with ears that listen
do i reiterate symptoms
into this pen

Alas
does a medical student
write in tones
list in moans
and dots down things
that observe not only rings

Today is good

Sex is a natural inclination that burns within man (and woman), a pleasurable source that brings gladness and awakens the passions.
I liken it to fine art; the more one is experienced in knowledge of, the greater the appreciation.

French men would say, "le corps d'une femme sur un homme est comme le rouage d'horloge principal."

No sex is secret to long life, says 105-year-old Clara, Britain's oldest virginBy Luke Salkeld
Last updated at 1:50 AM on 10th October 2008

Just too busy: Clara Meadmore says sex seemed a 'hassle' and she's glad she did without it
Over the years many a centenarian has delivered their secret for a long life.

Not smoking, daily exercise, moderate drinking, being married (and sometimes not being married) have all had their champions.
But, at the ripe old age of 105, Clara Meadmore could trump the lot: a life of celibacy.

Miss Meadmore says she has always been too busy for relationships and thought of physical intimacy as a 'hassle'.

The former secretary, who will celebrate her birthday tomorrow, said she had no regrets about remaining a virgin and had turned down several marriage proposals.
Miss Meadmore said: 'People have asked whether I am a homosexual and the answer is no. I have just never been interested in or fancied having sex.
'I imagine there is a lot of hassle involved and I have always been busy doing other things. I've never had a boyfriend - I've never been bothered about relationships.'
She added: 'When I was a girl you only had sex with your husband - and I never married.
'I've always had lots of platonic friendships with men but never felt the need to go further than that or marry.
'Everything seems so fast these days. I don't know a lot about young people or the way they do things. I'm sure it's very different. I made my mind up at the age of 12 never to marry and I've not gone back on that.'
Miss Meadmore was born in Glasgow in 1903, two years after the death of Queen Victoria. She remembers hearing about the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 and the outbreak of the First World War.

Sex is one of life's greatest pleasures/ past-times. Ah, imho.

I find it quite befitting and pertinent to say that the Title of "Mark of Priestly Bliss" is appropriate.

The book of Mark mentions an incident where Jesus heals a man and commands him to visit the priests and make an offering, as was the custom of the Jews commanded by Moses (whom Jesus Christ, The Great I AM, delivered from Pharaohic Egypt thousands of years before).

In order to meet the needed volume of seaweeds to make bioethanol production cost-efficient, the Koreans would have to teach the Filipino seaweed growers how to improve seaweed growing methods.

A most splendid idea, Dot. And in order to properly introduce the importance of seaweed production in energy policy as well as for domestic growth, the Koreans could disburse and help fund for advanced classes in environmental engineering in universities in the Philippines, such as the likes of University of Bohol, Bohol Island State University, and Holy Name University. By increasing their cooperation with the Filipino people, educational institutions , aside from governmental units, can the Koreans expect positive gains in future business dealings with the Philippines and its people.

There has to be some kind of long term goals and benefits that the Philippines and the Filipino people can benefit from. Aside from supplying the Koreans with much needed petroleum ether and research work, it would be fortuitous for the Filipino people to develop seaweed plantations for domestic use as well, which can be ascertained by new technological processes in energy acquisition from Korean engineers and specialists.

If the Philippines can develop its own energy sector from this, and slowly but surely sever our heavy dependence on foreign energy importations, then surely, this is something that the whole country can benefit from.

Resilience:

I'd say that there were and are times in my life that brought me down. However, one thing that I've learned from my parents, the lives of my grandparents, and also to some early saints is that faith brings resilience in any work. Faith perfects what is imperfect, and allows the individual to cast away nonchalance for resilience in action. In quaint reflection, I take no offenses on the negativities that came to my life, but have gradually to come to let it go. In fact, it is in letting it go and continuing on with the goal that makes everything worthy.

Look at the apostle Paul. His resilience was manifested in his work, his tireless work. Even when he was imprisoned by the Romans in Rome for preaching the Word of God, he did not let the physical containment of the prison bars inhibit or stop his spirit. No, you see the spirit cannot be stopped unless you wish it to stop. Paul wrote, he wrote veraciously and most of the Letters to the Romans (Book of Romans) in the Bible are his correspondence from prison. That, in my point of view, is exemplary of Resilience.

So, we should take action and heed to his example and follow. Trust in God, in all things, faith in Him, can truly move the 'mountains' in your life.

Kindness:

I am blessed with the kindness of an uncle who calls me when i drive 700 miles to make sure that i was okay. I am blessed with the graceful words of my father, who reminds me to stay on course. I am blessed with the kindness of my mother's love and encouragement. Her prayers. I am blessed with the adoration of my little brothers and sister, who continue to strengthen this man who is in the most crucial time of life. All of these are blessings, despite the trials and difficulties in life. A source of happiness, and comfort, gifts that have come down from Heaven's Grace.

I am ever understanding that I am unworthy of these, however, I give thanks to God who bestows me with grace. For without grace, there is no satisfaction, no completion of plans, nothing. Through Grace , all things flow forth. Through His Grace, we are able to accomplish all that we set and plan with Him.

To God, who reigns eternal , be Honor, Praise and Endless Majesty.
Thanks be to God...

I respect her for voicing her opinion, and the passion in the message. Her message sings the same tone as that of Dr. Ting Tiongco who authored a favorite of mine, "Surgeons Don't Cry". The book laments on how the Philippine Brain Drain has affected the country. It's a different perspective; totally on the different side of the court, especially when one has only heard only the 'positives' of going abroad.

You were in college, working part-time, waiting tables
Left a small town and never looked back
I was a flight risk, afraid of fallin'
Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts

I say, "Can you believe it?"
As we're lyin' on the couch
The moment, I can see it
Yes, yes, I can see it now

Do you remember, we were sittin' there, by the water?
You put your arm around me for the fist time
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Flash forward, and we're takin' on the world together
And there's a drawer of my things at your place
You learn my secrets and figure out why I'm guarded
You say we'll never make my parents' mistakes

But we got bills to pay
We got nothin' figured out
When it was hard to take
Yes, yes

This is what I thought about:

Do you remember, we were sittin' there, by the water?
You put your arm around me for the fist time

You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Do you remember all the city lights on the water?
You saw me start to believe for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Oh, oh, oh, oh

And I remember that fight, two-thirty AM
You said everything was slipping right out of our hands
I ran out, crying, and you followed me out into the street

Braced myself for the goodbye, cause that's all I've ever known
Then, you took me by surprise
You said, "I'll never leave you alone."

You said, "I remember how we felt, sitting by the water.
And every time I look at you, it's like the first time.
I fell in love with a careless man's careful daughter.
She is the best thing that's ever been mine."

You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Do you believe it?
We're gonna make it now
And I can see it

I can see it now

On Chicago:

At first it was quite a dismay to move into this city, but after some time experiencing the places here, studies here, and work, the more I have grown to love the Windy Cty. Note: It really is quite windy here (and cold!) lol.

I could see myself practicing here, the city truly is eclectic. Diversity would best describe this city. Rich in opportunity, would be second.

I like it here. Tho I miss New Jersey, I feel that I could live here...

what a view!  8)

Behavioral Psychologists Bjorklund and Bee best describe the many ways death is viewed by society:

1. Death as an organizer of time:
-death defines the endpoint of one's life, so the concept of "time until death" may be an important one for a person trying to organize his or her life. in fact, sociologist Bernice Neugarten suggests that one of the key changes in thinking in middle age is a switch in the way one marks one's own lifetime, from time since birth to time until death.

2. Death as a punishment:
-children are quite likely to think of death as punishment for being bad-a kind of ultimate stage 1 of Kohlberg's moral reasoning theory.
-Such reasoning is strengthened by religious teachings that emphasize a link between sin and death.

3. Death as a transition:
-death involves a transition--from life to some sort of life after death, or from life to nothingness.

4. Death as a loss:
-perhaps most pervasively, death is seen by most of us as a loss--loss of the ability to complete projects or carry out plans; loss of one's body; loss of experiencing, of taste, smell, and touch; loss of relationships with people. Unlike beliefs in an afterlife, in this domain there are age differences. In particular, the specific losses that adults associate with death appear to change as they move through the adult years. Young adults are more concerned about loss of opportunity to experience things and about the loss of family relationships.
Older adults, likewise, are more concerned about the loss of time to complete some inner work.

Answer:

Spiritual renewal as the rising of the soul after the state of physical death. I personally believe in it. There have been many NDE's that I've read about and persons who I've talked to who had experienced these before. So far, there is no medical explanation for their experiences, and their uniform descriptions.

There's a song that goes....
Sometimes GOOD-BYES are not forever...
It doesn't matter if you're gone....
I still believe in us together...
I understand....
More than you think I can....
You have to go out on your own...
So you can find your way back home....

So therefore.... farewell means another new life to come....

What about Single Blessedness??? Is it a kind of religiousity???

Good post, good question.

To best answer your question , I would like to point out that death is not only a physical , anatomical deletion, but also a psychological mindset, state of being as seen by the one dying and those around the dying.

The post that you provided basically illustrates one person's coping mechanism in regards to death. Despite the fact that the loved one perished, the one who is still alive, has psychologically justified himself/herself that the physical state of death cannot separate the experiences shared between them. And this is true; so long as the other is still alive and has the ability to recover memory and past experiences, the former is not truly forgotten, thus, not really dead, in the spiritual sense. Again, it is a coping defense mechanism. As is seen and explained in psychology and medical psychiatry.

In regards to the notion of 'single blessedness' correlating to religiosity, I would surmise you are referring to religious life. Single blessedness, from my understanding, refers to the life of an ordained priest, nun, etc.
