Additional one...

Poor dad believes that money is the root of all evil..
Rich dad believes that lack of money is the root of all evil..
#2503
...Sorry guys to keep you waiting... I feel lazy today and I have'nt finished chapter 1..

Anyway... here's some additional facts I have learned today....

1. Poor dad teach their kids to spend their money safely.
2. Rich dad teach their kids to spend thier money wisely.
#2504
I finished reading the introduction: It says there are two kinds of Dad, a rich dad and a poor dad.

Poor dad tell their children to go to school, study hard to get a high grades and look for a job. Poor dad encourage their children to be smart.

Rich dad teach their children with financial skills where present education system is not capable of teaching, tell them to go to school to learn what they want to learn. Then they encourage them to know how to hire smart people...

I will read chapter one and share with you soon....

English is not education and should not be associated with education... it is just a tool...it is just one of the total package to label yourself "competent for the ever changing world"... which is 1) Education, 2) Scholastic Skills, 3) Financial Skills and 4) Communication Skills which includes English… but who knows, China would become the next superpower…. then all of us would discriminate non-Chinese literates.

…sorry…. I forgot to mention entrepreneurial skills, which our present education system does not provide….most of us learned 95% of it from TV.
#2506
Dear Mike,

I bought one book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki.

I will read it and share it with our "igsoons". It sounds interesting.

Preview: 'The main reason people struggle financially is because they have spent years in school, but learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money....but never learn to have money work for them'

...let me finish reading and I will tell you more...

Lami' singgitan ug "WALAY RESPETO!"...

We have an environment agency that seems not functioning. DENR must be incapable of searching for different options of safe oil exploration. Sa gikaingon ko na, there are better ways of exploring oil rather than this destructive, old method one. We have now what is called Remote Sensing or Satellite Imagery. You may read below or visit their site for further details. www.satimagingcorp.com/svc/oil-exploration.html

SATELLITE IMAGERY FOR OIL EXPLORATION

Accurate data that leads to accurate decisions.
Accurate satellite imagery is the most cost-effective method of oil exploration available to petroleum experts today. Whether your project is in Alaska or Arabia, we are experienced in acquiring and processing images that will lower your exploration risk and decrease your project cost.
No matter how remote, Satellite Imaging Corporation can retrieve your images from the most difficult-to-photograph areas of the world. For heavily forested areas, we provide medium-to-high resolution "Bare Earth" DEM's utilizing the Synthetic Aperture Radar (X/P SAR) data. This provides weather independency, allowing us to map large areas of terrain in limited timeframes, independent of the weather and solar illumination conditions. We are also familiar with specialized retrieval methods used for digital imagery in remote areas, highly developed areas and areas of persistent heavy cloud cover such as the tropics.
Satellite Imaging Corporation provides specialized image processing per client requirements. By color balancing and utilizing the correct satellite band combinations, Satellite Imaging Corporation isolates the terrain features and geological information needed for correct analysis of your petroleum project. The images can be optimized to enhance a wide range of geological, manmade and terrain features. For example, in jungle terrain in the Amazon basin, we have recovered old well locations and heliports by filtering the correct band combinations for the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) mapping technique.
For an even more complete picture, Satellite Imagery Corporation provides 3-D visuals of your potential sites, allowing for a full analysis and comparison of your most promising options. Geological features affecting oil & gas exploration are identified with high resolution Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) and viewed in 3D terrain visualization environments. The data and imagery can be further prepped for complex analyses such as hydrocarbon indications or fracture analysis to ensure the best decisions regarding drill sites.

Our products can be used to:

•   Detect seismic lines and well locations
•   Document persistent offshore oil seepage
•   Map rock formations, elevation, and major structures
•   Update coordinates of old well locations
•   Differentiate major rock types
•   Identify barren and productive basin areas
•   Perform noninvasive mapping to preserved areas

Facts are clear and now, it’s time for Bohol to decide…

We must either go for Oil exploration and abandon Eco-tourism…. Or the reverse….

These two options can not co-exist….

I have seen somewhere in TV that these two guys (founder of google, one of them is a Russian immigrant) does'nt even have a car of their own even they are now worth billions. They stick to their philosophy of don't be evil. They go to work & meetings in just T-Shirts and Jeans...

Moreover, I discourage those who are big-eaters.... google has a 24-hour kitchen, food is free and they have the longest list of menu documented in guiness book of world records with chefs and cooks almost equal in number with the programmers. They believe that "a well fed employee is a good employee"... So, beware... you may die of obesity....

Also, google believes that corporates are evil money makers, so their homepage is free from any advertisers unlike yahoo..... palitik akong itlog kung dili tinood.....

Daghang salamat Rico sa imong pagpahayag….

You have just exposed the loopholes of our imperfect law and how to use this in making unethical money the legal way. You have just told us the mechanics of corruption. Yes, I suspect the same pork barrel is used to shut the mouths of our concerned departments who should be the protector of the people.

Yes you are right in saying that oil exploration is not an affront to our sovereignty…. It is the destructive method that is…. that is War is all about…..destruction…. We are the ones who are affected and it is only but just to defend ourselves.

It is true that on local levels, our officials are constrained with limitations up to their elected authorities. However, we the people who owns the government are not and we have every right to say “no” as a democratic society.

Personally, I am not bothered if Cebu gets all the Oil. Cebu is already a wasteland….let them get all the pollution they could possibly have. Nonetheless, I am not jealous of this small fraction that is already feasted by the National government & its officials.

We have an environment agency that seems not functioning. DENR must be incapable of searching for different options of safe oil exploration. I would like to share with you one story.... Once I met Richard Uy of FCB while he was still working in Riyadh Bank in AlKhobar Saudi Arabia few years ago. It goes like this...

His family who were raised in the states were moved to Bohol as they decided to finally settle there for reasons of enjoying quality life... His kids were enrolled at Bohol Wisdom School and due to the high standard of curriculum in the states, his kids excell in almost all the subject....

Until now, I am still puzzled on why that woman gave only $32 reward, why not $30, why she gave $2 extra?…. Is there any superstition behind the number 32?…. maybe that woman is a fairy in disguise…. maybe that money could grow into a giant bean stalk…

Or maybe that woman is a believer of Jim Carey’s movie Number 23, which runs around a myth of the Biblical scriptures from the Book of Numbers, specifically Chapter 32, Verse 23 which reads in its relevant part: "Be sure your sin will find you out."

I am still puzzled of this 32 dollar question….
#2534
You know this story is outrageous to me and it makes my knuckles white with anger....

This reward for honesty is nothing, $32 compared to the lost $17,000 is 0.19%, not even reached 1%....

OK, for gods sake this money is already lost and for honesty, the owner only paid 0.19%? Is this the value of honesty?... The driver made a big mistake... I don’t mean not to return the money, but he should not have accepted that outrageous price for honesty….

Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that woman could not sleep with her conscience by now….and to the driver, please accept my praise...

Talk of the Town / Re: Economic Sabotage in Bohol?
July 01, 2007, 05:05:26 PM
This is not only an economic sabotage, but a shameless aggression to the Boholano people.... we are being bullied here by NorAsian oil company through the consent of DOE... they have succeeded in placing bribe.... pipila ra man ka mga dagkong officiales ang nakasapi ani???....

If every Boholano would act and throw a stone on this ship, I am sure it would sink..... We shall not succumb without a fight....

This illegal act must be exposed to international level... mga kaigsoonan, we are the ones affected here and each one of us would be responsible ..... please help me expose this to international level by forwarding this news to any foreign news agency you could possibly find in the internet so that the world may know.....

I praise our simple fishermen... I praise Mayor Lim, Mayor Redulla and all the mayors who support the Boholano masses.... I praise Mike Ligalig for spreading this information....

Just like the shape of "Darth Vader's" head (Star Wars).... maybe that is the reason why his character is like Darth Vader... iyang gi unay ang iyang kaugalingon nga mga tao... but at the end he become a good guy by betraying his master and saving his son's life....

Maybe this is the reason why my mind can not get out of "star wars" due to the shape of Yoyoy's head..... Darth Vader ..... ssshhhh....sssshhhh....

Dear Mike,

My friends can help beautify your website. Just contact the following:
1. chai_colors@yahoo.com (Richard Bayron) He can make a professional logo for you. He is one of the first batch of UB Fine Arts headed by Ted Ramasola. You can give complement by advertising his works. He is probably now in Dao, Bohol.
2. mvcgallery@yahoo.com (he is a hardline boholano or shall we say nationalistic and he will do everything for the love of Bohol just like you). His house is in Lindaville.

Thanks for this initiative Mike....

I guess the topic is getting hotter, and more sarcastic day by day.....forgot to mention funnier...

With this old fashioned attitude of the Mayor, I can imagine the future image of a Boholana as fat, thick glasses with protruding teeth.... aha! "Nerd" ... thats what the mayor want the future Boholana to look like....

You are right Riva, we have the most beautiful "top of the line" beaches and Boholanas are not wearing bikinis? What to wear then.... lukay sa lubi & bagol as bra?!!! ...patronize our own product....

Aside from Sweden, our neighbor Korea is also a good example of this article.

During late 70’s South Korea is just recovering from ruins after it was torn by decade of war and you can imagine how bad the situation is back then. However, if you look at Korea now, it is unbelievable. LG, Samsung and Hyundai are just some of their giant products, not to mention large construction firms.

The secret lies behind their being Patriotic or nationalistic…. Koreans are so patriotic to the extent that they are discriminating their half blooded citizens and whatever they do is dedicated to their country.

During the war days, Koreans were scattered throughout the globe as migrant workers like us. Majority migrated to Europe as factory workers, mostly in Germany. After the war, that was the mid 80’s, almost all of them went back to their homeland. They organized companies and applied what they have learned from Germany and this is called “technology transfer”. This is different from technology theft which China is now doing.

During that time in Germany, Grundig, (a TV/Electronic company), Daimler Benz (maker of Mercedez Benz), Fisher (part German, appliance maker) lost half of their work-force which were predominantly Korean Nationals. Non of them cared to stay back in Germany despite of salary offers.

Their embassies worldwide made a great role in introducing and Marketing their products. LG was first marketed in 1991 and in just a decade it became a giant.

So, when can we start our company?… It is just a matter of organizing…. Many Banks are ready to give a loan assistance once we are organized….. I hereby recommend Mike Ligalig to be the Chairman or the President of our new company “TB” brand….

Gob & Mayors,
If you are aiming for a long term political career, now is your chance. Show off what you got. Since election is still fresh, you are all in the safe side. Whatever you do, wheater it hurts the administration, it will not affect much of your carreer as election is fresh and you still have a long journey to go. Nobody knows what will happen on the way. We can not predict the political climate. If you act now, it will be credited to your name. The Boholano people will never forget. This issue will give leverage to your name for the next election.

This is not an issue of pro-administration or oposition, but an issue of our sovereignty at stake, including YOU who is reading this...

Mga Mayor, Gobernador.... hinumdumi nga you are servants of the Boholano people. Hooooy!!!

We know there is oil, but no foreign country has the right even just to know that we have oil. It is our own oil and nobody should touch it without our consent... our sovereignty is at stake here...
#2548
#2549
Moreover, since Kainggit is like a small stage, contestants would be lined up in the stairs and the photographer will be at a distance of 10 meters away at sea riding a "bangka" with inscription of "Kuja' Divers"....hehehe...
#2550
Yeah you are absolutely right Riva...good idea.... also instead of bikinis, they should wear a skimpy saya or short patadiong... and the venue for photography would be in our very own Kainggit public beach in order to cut the cost.....hehehe....

I disagree to the line "fed to politicians and businessmen". If some of the contestants have fallen prey, that is their own personal choice. Life is full of risk and deceptions. However, they choose to take risk, rather than to stay idle and marry a jobless canto-boy. That is their own way of taking one step forward to improving their lives. Nobody can blame anybody for other people's personal choice.

Moreover, the reality is that most of our beautiful women are already being exploited as secretaries, i mean sexytaries.

Joining a beauty contest is noble and winners or loosers will step down the stage with head up-high & honor. If some of our folks think that this is some kinda bikini bar or a night club event...what a shame!!!

Health and Food / Hometown Recipies
June 29, 2007, 09:20:41 PM
Dear Mike,

Naa koy gamay nga suggestion.

Hinaut unta nga mag abre ka ug usa ka folder dire nga mag talk about food or Recipe and I am sure this will become a hot topic.

I am sure many would post their recipies.
-Native Food: (example: biko, kalamay, suman, puto...etc.)
- Cakes & desserts:

So to start with, below is my native recipe:

Nilabog nga Pagi:
1 Kg. diced sting-ray meat or (Pagi), about 1/2 inch thick.
1 tsp. salt (or as desired)
1/2 cup vinegar (any kind)
1-lemon or 3 large limonsito (Juiced)
4-5 stalks lemon grass (tangad), bundled
2 cups coconut milk (powder substitute will do)
1 head onion (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (chopped)
2-3 tbsp. oil

Procedure:
Marinate diced sting ray meat with lemon 10-20 minutes (this will reduce the amonia smell).
Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan. Saute' the garlic until golden brown. Drop in the onion and stir until soft. Drop in the sting-ray meat and pour vinegar. Cover and simmer for 2 minutes (this should be in hi-fire or 300 degrees for electric stove). Add coconut milk and lemon grass while stirring, add salt to taste. Put cover and reduce fire or temperature to 1/4 allowing to simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from flame.
Serve in a shallow bowl, garnished with garlic leaves and sliced lemon.

A glass of bahalina or red wine shall be served.

Mao ni giinon ug pinakurat nga pagkaluto.

Mike, hope you will open one recipe folder and thanking you in anticipation.

Best Regards,

Macky Ferniz

Coming back to Yoyoy, I believed that all of us will undergo some weakness & diversions in some parts of our lives. We can not judge a character from one point or a fragment part of his/her life. It has to be a whole from beginning to end.

Ang maayong biography kanang dramatic, may rise and fall unya at the end mo rise na pod and then the ending either success or tragedy.

So, I am challenging movie producers to make a tribute film to Yoyoy Villame's colorful life. We have good Boholano directors and actors like Malou Abaya and Cesar Montano.

Yoyoy is a unique person and you will never knew what is behind an artist's mind, like why Vincent Van Ghogh cut his ears to bleed while painting a self portrait, why Jimmy Hendrix burns his guitar, why is a futuristic movie "star wars" has an into of "a long long time ago". So, why did Yoyoy deny that he is a Boholano? There are many reasons why an artist turns bad, but the real reason lies only in thier unique minds....

Bohol Directory / Re: The vanishing coral of Bohol
June 29, 2007, 01:55:39 AM
Further to this, we have a rare variety of coral found only in Bohol and we can not afford to loose it.

Even our sea grass, which we refer locally as "lusay" and sometimes considered an annoyance to some is very rare. They can only be found in some parts of the barrier reef in Australia, some parts in Indonesia, Palawan and in Bohol. Now, barrier reef biologists are conducting studies on how to propagate these sea grass as it will shelter marine life and is a good source of oxygen.

Yeah, let me share you one story GEC...

One time my relatives from states came for a vacation. they don't know a single visayan word.... after we eat dinner, her husband, who is a pure blood American (caucasian) stood up and said "where is the bhikhow" (biko). He thought every boholano meal is finished with a biko as dessert... Hope you like my story....

This is a good sign that we had influenced the americans.... with biko...

Higalang Ghost,

First of all, this web site is all about friendship & brotherhood, even if our opinion differs... I really appreciate your attitude of standing for Bohol, no matter what...

To my fellow Boholanos, such kind of people are meant to be valued. Like our brothers who were born in the states, they hardly speak Boholano dialect, but if you ask them from where you are, they will proudly answer "Taga Bohol", bisan slang ang pagka sulti. I met several Boholanos who were born in Manila who don't speak any Bisayan language at all, but when I asked them, they loudly replied "taga Bohol man bay".  :)

Allow me to share a little opinion.

First of all, this kind of event builds personallity, talent and confidence to our young generation. It trains young people to be competitive in real life; i.e. you have to do a lot of preparation, develop your talent... even some wished that they would grow taller, some already prepared their speach even a year back, some made research to improve their IQ.... etc.

I am saddened to the fact that these young candidates took years preparing themselves for this event and all of a sudden it was cancelled for some narrow reason. This is not just a money making event but a search for someone to represent the Boholano People.

Since begining, this became as a yearly event, so as our tradition goes "bisan walay kwarta mag fiesta".... so, bisan walay budget, ato kining himoon, bisan simple lang....

In my opinion, cancelling this event is an irresponsible decision and degrading/neglect to Boholana women...

Paredes's reason that theres little time for preparation is unacceptable and very narrow. The committee is only talking about themselves. How about the years of personal preparation for these young candidates? .... If government has no funds, then ask from the private sector....organize sponsors....

I remembered an article of Engr. Jess Tirol that when Legaspi anchored in Bohol shores, he described the women as beautiful.... We must be proud of this fact nga bisan sa una wala pay mga beauty products nga available, pero maanyag ang atong mga baje... tingale ang uban adto nila gipang sip-on, walay toothbrush ug nagkabulingit, pero maanyag lang gihapon...

Pareha ra kanang Showbiz ug Politics, kinahanglan mo himo ka ug hangky-panky para mo sikat.

Pero ang real artist, iyang ipakita kung unsa iyang gituho-an nga sakto, bisan naay ma-igo or masakitan or bisan dili siya makasapi.

So, hina-ut pa unta nga atong tan-awon si Yoyoy isip usa ka artist ug dili Showbiz or Politica.

Dear Mike,

I made some research and aparently Cabilao is having oil. Please find the below article which is self explanatory. I will make further study on the figures and will comment accordingly:

Philippines' NorAsian Charters Oil Rig, Plans Drilling
by  Cris Larano
Dow Jones Newswires 8/9/2006
URL: http://www.rigzone.com/news/article.asp?a_id=35033
MANILA Aug 09, 2006 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) NorAsian Energy Ltd. said Wednesday it chartered a multipurpose semisubmersible rig for three years which should provide a boost to oil and natural gas exploration in the Philippines.

The company, jointly owned by Australia's Ottoman Energy Ltd. (OEL.AU) and AustralAsian Energy Ltd., is a locally organized exploration business.

NorAsian chief executive officer Ken Fellowes told reporters the oil rig with a production capacity of 45,000 barrels a day is now being built in China and will be delivered in the second half of 2007.

The company will start drilling soon after the delivery, but doesn't have a specific date set.

Fellowes said the rig is primarily intended for NorAsian drilling plans, but may eventually be used by other oil companies in the Philippines.

Oil rig availability has been a problem for companies prospecting for oil and gas in the Philippines, which have yet to yield any large oil discovery in the past few years. The largest was the Malampaya natural gas field with 2.7 trillion cubic feet, discovered in the early 1990s.

Fellowes said it will cost NorAsian around $22 million to mobilize the semi-submersible rig and drill the first well at the Calauit oil field in southern Philippines for a 60-day work period. Drilling two more wells will cost another $32 million, he added.

NorAsian chairman Rufino Bomasang said the company hopes to produce as much as 25,000 barrels of oil a day from three horizontal wells to be drilled in Calauit, which is estimated to contain recoverable oil reserves of up to 12.6 million barrels. He said horizontal drilling and controlled output are required to avoid water seepage.

Calauit, an offshore field that sits below 1,000 feet of water, produced 830,000 barrels of Indonesia Tapis-type crude oil in 1997. But since the oil is trapped in a fractured limestone formation, it is prone to water intrusion that makes production expensive.

Tapis crude is usually 15% cheaper than Brent oil.

Fellowes said the current world oil price and the charter of the rig make reentering Calauit viable. He said with the lower cost of the rig, producing oil from Calauit would be viable even if the price of crude oil falls to $40 a barrel.

Aside from Calauit, NorAsian is also planning to drill the Argao and Cabilao prospects, a few kilometers off the central island of Cebu, and the Marantao prospects beneath 6,000 feet of water in offshore Palawan.

Argao has estimated recoverable reserve of up to 270 million barrels, while Cabilao is estimated to contain as much as 145 million barrels. Both are in shallow water.

Bomasang said NorAsian is very hopeful of finding oil and natural gas in Marantao, a prospect in the South China Sea that is close to Malampaya and "giant" and "super giant" discoveries Malaysia. Drilling on Marantao is scheduled until 2008.

"Marantao may well be the Philippines' next Malampaya," said Bomasang. "It is potentially five times larger."

The following is the Boholano translation of what you mean to say:
Mao ni ang wa' nabuhat ni yoyoy kay hingdeny man jod sija na tagabohol .... taga sugbo man "kuno" siya....

What I mean to say here is kitang tanan is prone to mistakes. Like when you say taga Cebu man "daw" siya... ang word nga "daw" dili word nga bol-anon, sa mindanao ra ni nako na bati-i. So, in using the word "daw" you are not patronizing your own dialect. This is one form of denial to your own identity....

Kitang taga Bohol, usahay over reacting ra ta kaayo.

#2568
Kung wala ko masayop si Yoyoy ang nag compose sa kanta nga "Francisco Dagohoy" - please correct me if I'm mistaken....

Igo na kini nga makapahimo niya nga usa sa great men of Bohol ug angay siyang pasidunggan kay iyang gi hago-an ug compose kining kantaha.

Dear Mike,

Abi nako ug si Joe miembro ani. Imo ra diay tong gi relay....sorry...nag dali man guy ko....

Nakahigayon ko ron kay naay break....

So, further the komentaryo ni higalang Joe Espiritu, kining 85.8 million pesos per year nga atong ma benefit ani nga project, kung aton kining bahin-bahinon sa 1,138,000 nga Boholanos, tag 75.4 pesos ra kada usa kanato.... hehehe....

Tuod mike, naa koy mga pictures of Bohol taken by world renowned photographers. Tudlo-i ko bi kung unsaon pag attach, kay akong gi sulayan ug attach, script man ang mo gawas ug walay picture... Thanks....

Needs some tips from the expert.....
#2570
Higalang Joe,

First of all, sorry nga dili ni nako tas-on ang akong tubag kay naa pa koy trabaho... direct to the point na lang.

You are very optimistic of economic progress for Bohol and I am glad for your attitude. However, let us examine first the facts before we jump into the hole.

Based on the initial press release of this issue, it is mentioned that out of $100 valued oil volume, only about $3.9 something will go to LGUS and this will be devided into different departments or sectors.

For Gods sake Joe, 3.9% is not Economic Progress???

Let me show you the real figures based on the statistics and information realeased on this project. If we translate you said 22 million barrels x $40 per barrel, it will be $880 million for 20 years sustainability, that means only $44 million per year. Hence, our share is $44 million x 3.9% is only $1,716,000 per year = P85.8 million pesos only.

Why I used the word only?... because the estimated budget for constructing Panglao International airport is ....you know what .... "10 Billion Pesos".... not to mention the cost of maintenance.

As I have said, we are developing Bohol as an eco-tourism region and all this will be in vain if this oil project will push through.

10 Billion pesos Vs. your 85.8 million and you call it economic progress.....

Moreover, Cebu looks industrialized and booming indeed, but 70% of the population are living below poverty line, 20% are middle class and only a handful is... shall we say filthy rich....so long for now....
#2571
Higalang Frenz,

Moreover, it is not a question of hadlok kay ang taw nga nag-mahal sa iyang yutang natawhan dili bation ug kahadlok. It is a question of who will get the "money", exploitation and sovereignty.

While we have not solved corruption issues in our country, I believe we should not start with this project. Unless kung ang Pilipinas starving na gyud kaayo like Sudan and famine countries, maybe we should use this as last alternative.

Ang U.S.A., naa nila ang pinakadakong oil reserve sa Texas valley & Alaska, apan wala kini nila hilabti, not even a drop. Puro imported oil gikan sa Middle East ilang gigamit. I guess they knew the consequence.

Also as I have said, we are developing Bohol as an eco-tourism region and multi-million ang budget gi gahin para niini, not to mention Panglao Airport. All this will be in vain kung madayon kining oil project.

Ang pinakadakong porsyento niini mao ang Natural Gas, which is very toxic that a person will die instantly if exposed to it.

There are many ways of improving our economy without compensating our invironment. We are one of the biggest supplier of professional manpower in the world. How about improving our Export-import sector like Hong-kong. As you know Hong-kong and Taiwan has no oil, no agriculture, yet they are one of the richest economy.

Bye for now kay trabaho na pod.....

Its a fact nga 60% of our food consist of fish and kadaghanan nato maka-kaon lang ug karne kung fiesta.

This issue is alarming and everyone must react.

I believed there are more modern ways of finding oil without compensating the environment. We have remote sensing through satellite technology. Saudi Arabia & other oil producing countries are using Satellite technology. This company is using cheap & harmful method.

I read one article that a sonar device was installed in Hawaii by the US military to measure temperature of the Pacific. It delivers sonic boom that reached thousands of miles throughout the pacific. This device was blamed for a number of whale beaching incidents in California, Japan and Australia. Whales and dolphins are very sensitive to sonar because it is their means of sight underwater and their sonar lobes in front of their foreheads will get damaged. So they can not find their way and may head to the beach. It is said that a deaf whale is a dead whale.

For humans, it is like staring directly at mid-noon sun.

It is but ironic nga multi-million ang budget for the development of eco-tourism in Bohol and not to mention the construction of Panglao Airport for the said purpose.

So, kung dili ma dala sa legal way, then let us do it the radical way like our ancestor Dagohoy has taught us.... sulong mga insurektos....

I am very disappointed nga mi sugot ang taga Cebu, ug wala gani bisan gamay nga reclamo. Maybe because most of Cebuanos are narrow minded. Sorry to say, but that is what I have personally observed. Cebu is a metropolis and majority of the population are dayos, so the public have no sense of "my own". It is like a public toilet... nobody cares....

Bilar - Bohol / Re: History of Bilar, Bohol
June 23, 2007, 11:15:47 PM
Allow me to make comment regarding the story that Bilar town was derived from the word “bilad”.

In my opinion, this is misleading to real history and irrational.

First of all “bilad” is a tagalog translation for a visayan word “bulad” means dried. However, we Boholanos pronounce it as “buwad” which sounds very differently from Bilar.

I theorized that Bilar town was named after “Elvillar (Basque: Bilar)” a town and municipality located in the province of Álava, in the Basque Country, northern Spain.

Many of our towns were named after Spanish places or words like Sevilla, Alburquerqe, Valencia…etc.

But naming Bilar after bilad is absurd….
