A two-seater light plane crash landed at the Tagbilaran City airport in Bohol province Wednesday (July 4, 2007) morning.
Superintendent Eleodoro Ocampo, assistant director for operations of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group, said the light plane made an emergency landing on the runway around 10:15 a.m., damaging its nose gear and propeller.
No one was reported injured in the incident, Ocampo said.
In a phone interview from Tagbilaran City, Edgar Solis, local manager of the Air Transportation Office, said the ill-fated aircraft was a Cessna 152, with body number RPC-4420.
Solis said it came from Mactan, Cebu and was being piloted by a certain Capt. Jaymar Ortega, who was on a solo flight.
"We haven't determined yet the cause of the accident," Solis said in the Cebuano vernacular.
Ocampo said the accident caused a delay for almost one hour in the departure of Philippine Airlines flight PR 176 bound for Manila. - GMANews.TV
