How to Calm Your Mind and Anchor Peace, Presence, and Harmony

There's a saying, "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most." For me, of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the LEAST. I often had a chatterbox mind; when I was unsettled, my busy mind was like a crazed acrobat, tumbling from thought to thought, leaping to conclusions. After my cancer diagnosis 4 years ago, a whole circus of crazed acrobats was unleashed in my mind! I felt highly motivated to calm those painful tumbling fears and imaginings. As a result of my efforts, I'm delighted to say... I am losing my mind and gaining peace, presence, and harmony. I'd like to share with you the ways I'm doing that.

How To Teach a Moral In a Short Story

Make Money Writing Fanfiction Online Through Blogging

Do you love writing fanfiction (or fanfics) as a hobby? There are a lot of people out there already writing fanfiction about their favorite anime, TV show or even movie series. But I bet not many of them are making money out of it. Why? Because the either probably don't know how or they haven't even thought about making money from writing fanfiction. For those who have no idea what fanfiction is or never heard the term fanfics before - it's basically the creation of fictional content based on an already existing storyline. For example, you take characters from your favorite anime or franchise and write your own story within that same universe and let your creativity just flow.

Words in Songwriting and Their Power As Emotional Triggers (Part 1)

The unique power that words possess is by having influence over the way we perceive and interpret our experiences. How? When we produce a word in language we are in fact turning a perception about something in reality into a thought, then assigning sounds that transmit the idea as meaning to others. Writing is only slightly different, in that, writing is simply transforming the sound into a symbol (letters or glyphs) that conveys, we hope, the same meaning as the sound - the word, whether written or spoken, becomes the carrier of the idea.

When I was in elementary, whenever I asked my mother (a teacher) to define a word to me, she always commanded, "Look it up in the dictionary!" They discussed with me other ideas, but not the meaning of the word.

Words in Songwriting and Their Power As Emotional Triggers (Part 2)

A syllable is a unit of organization for a sequence of speech sounds. Frequently, a syllable is a morpheme, which can be verified by studying the origin of words. A syllable is typically made up of a vowel and a consonant or consonants. For example, the word water is composed of two syllables (or morphemes): wa and ter. Syllables are the phonological "building blocks" of words.

How to Develop Well-Rounded Believable Fictional Characters

Creating believable compelling characters--ones that come to life on the page and fully engage the reader--is key in writing fiction. After you first introduce a character, you want the reader to crave more, and then you must deliver more throughout the story. Readers want to connect with the characters, so it is important to create an image for them early on. But describing physical characteristics is not enough. Other traits need to be gradually revealed throughout the story by way of dialogue, actions and internal thoughts. Characters are products of their actions, so it is important to know which actions are appropriate for each of your characters in order for them to be complete and well-rounded.

A Savannah Site for Emily

She isn't in the Bonaventure or anywhere nearby the grave of Jim Williams. She wouldn't have tolerated such positioning. Emily took a stand against the man years ago and wrote it down word for word with a working title of Cannabis and Snowdrops, mainly because her son Danny loved both. Her story is not a sequel to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, though it tells of the aftermath; nor is it a prequel, though it tells of what happened in the years leading up to that fatal midnight. Rather, it is a kind of circling-and-spiraling, which I think of as Around Midnight. And, her story will likely never see the light of day.

If You Need a Very Particular Type of Help This May Speak Specifically to You

Am I writing to someone who realises that he, or she, needs to be cleansed? Might there be someone reading this who senses that dark recurring shadow which is there all the time, or has that terrifying habit of reappearing with all its heaviness? The man is desperate, and Jesus loves desperation. Mild interest has its limitations. He fell at Jesus feet. How undignified! Leprosy can be taken as a sign of sin, but not many see themselves to be covered with leprosy. Some people are covered with sin and are unaware of it. We have to know and recognise that our sin is so dire. People think that their condition is not so serious as the Bible paints. This leper comes to Jesus Christ openly with a fervent sincere request. Jesus did not overlook the prayer from this pained body. This man was sure that Jesus could help him. Jesus could not overlook such an impassioned plea.

To Get Rid of the Ego, I Watch Myself Fall Right on Through the Fire and Into the My Soul!

My process as I burn through my "Karma, Dharma" and whatever else may be within to bring the inner light out into the World. You are in a fiery process of death, rebirth, and transformation. Spend some time sitting before an open fire or in the sunlight. Light some candles, especially in the dark days of winter. Freedom To Be Authentic

I think one of the most valuable gifts we can give ourselves is the freedom to be our authentic self. There are many points of argument on what is the Authentic Self? Some may say it is the freedom to be whatever they want to be... Others say it is to be aligned with one's soul and to be that soul on earth without conforming to the pressures and cookie cutter uniformity of society... And there are others who say that being the Authentic Self is to be true to one's inner promptings at any one time. I tend to think that being your Authentic Self is being whatever you think this means to you -- and to take responsibility for the consequences you have created through living life as this self.

The Pink of Health - The Best of Times

One pathway to good health is not to worry about health. It does no good to worry and fret about whether we're starting to come down with something. Fretting about the state of our health is a nightmarish way to live. The other worry to avoid is undo concern about the state of the world. It all comes down to attitudes. We need not be concerned about our health; we should enjoy the good things that come to us as American citizens in the 21st Century.
