If by doing makes us happy not on the expense of others... mafi moskila ( no problem ), after all wala man ta mag molesteya ug laing tawo.

It is like saying that you cannot spend if you don't have something to spend, you cannot give love if you don't know what is love, you cannot help if you having nothing to give or help....

In life never regret when you've spent much when that made you happy then. Ayaw tipira ang imong kaulingon nga pangkinahanglan...

Agree :)

Those who are in the Royal family, it's not their fault being royal, they inherit it.
Whatever they do, it's part of being so privileged in their life.
The problems are the people who can't bare watching them because of JEALOUSY, that's when they find faults in them :(

You're welcome Grace.
I haven't really read a lot of his book but watch the movie instead like "The Pelican Brief", "The Firm" and many others. Some I read like "Playing with Pizza" that was written a lot of it's location Italy, the other one "The Broker" was also good same thing, some of the locations happened in Italy (can you tell I love Italy hehehe). Enjoyed it a lot while reading, I felt like I was there too with the character seeing the beauty and eating delicious italian cuisine.

Then there's this "The Innocent Man" that I kept wanting to borrow from the library but every time I go there, it's always out. I may try again and maybe let them hold it for me. I want to read it, 'coz my friend told me it's really good.

Anyway, I'll take a look at that book "A Painted House" and see if I can borrow that too. Then I let you what I think.

I didn't stop by Bo's during my trip there in 2006 but from what I read here, it seems like the prices are for foreigner's wallet. When I converted it to a dollar it's about a buck and few cents, so it's not that bad.

But for the locals, that's when it become pretty pricey for them.

pero Mike tinuod ka lami ang sinangag nga mais, very native authentic taste gyud sya, plain and simple.

This training is a good thing. Good opportunities to everyone.
The down side is there's no guarantee for job placements.
I hope it's not the same as the training for caregivers where some of my classmates went and paid a lot of money but everything went down the drain. Just a waste of money and their time, no job for all of them.

BQ CR policy - I think it's foolish.
When people go to the bathroom, they have the chance to see what's inside the store and they will tend to buy some, if it's not right away, maybe their next visit. Or if not just by being courteous to everyone nalang unta.
I think they're afraid that people doesn't know how to maintain cleanliness.

Belle, ka cute pod sa inyong meeting di ay noh with matching song pa gyud :)

to st.agnes, more power of love to you guys! Keep the love fire burning!

As for ours, I'll just make it brief.
We were introduced by my bestfriend and her husband. They met my hubby in Tagbilaran who went there for a trip by himself. They met in Metrocenter and when they knew he was interested in meeting someone,  my bestfriend called me up in manila and told me about him.
Few days later, my husband called me up in Manila and we met. He returned home to the US. We keep in touch by emails and phone calls. Few months later, he wanted to meet me again not in Philippines but in Singapore.  In our 21 days being alone without relatives and friends, that's when we kind of knew more almost anything about each other. And so we got engaged there. A year later, he visited me again in Pinas, not in Manila but in Bohol. Couple of months later he brought me to NJ and we got married. It sounds easy but believe me, we had a huge misunderstanding, it was our way of getting to know more, I guess. And looking back, we always say, damn we almost lost each other!
And the rest are history.

Well according to my experiences, it came in a different time my of life. During my early years of puberty, I thought I was in love, yes it was but kind of puppy love.
In my later year of HS, that's when it hit me and thought, hmm, it's not puppy love, it's firtst love. But I realized it wasn't meant to be, so I moved on.
But when I reach adulthood and met my husband, that's when I said to myself, hmmm, this is TRUE LOVE. Which means, no matter what, don't care what other people say and come what may - I love him.

Every year it became a tradition that somebody would attempt a freefall in Niagara falls.

Also I read that there was one time in the past that Niagara falls suddenly went dry one morning according to witnesses.

That's true Mr.Macks, annually. I'm not sure if they keep it up until now. I'm no longer keeping myself updated about this Falls. They have a museum there where all the people who tempted the freefall was captured with different shots along with the thing (forgot what they call it) they used, it's still preserved.

As for the past that went dry, I never heard about it when we were there. If it was, we must have missed about it.
There's a lot of myths about this Falls, quite interesting.

Hello, Beth!  Thanks for the link.  I guess there's nothing wrong with this ha but when a foreigners/tourists from other countries (like Philippine pesos, for example) take their own currencies to these stores and they don't honor them, that's when this racial discrimination comes in.  Oh well.

For me, so far this is the only international money I've ever known that's been accepted here in the US.  I think the reason why they're taking Euros it's because of the dollar versus euro exchange rates especially that it's useful when Americans go to Europe nowadays. However,  I don't think this will happen if the dollar wasn't low to a Euro exchange.

Beth, what do you mean that you heard about the owner and it wasn't good.  I always read their names in the news and that Mr. Hans is a philanthropist.  Is this not true?

I looked at the link of the website you gave in an earlier post.  Wow, the cheapest room is 7000 pesos!  I don't know much about hotel accommodations in Bohol but it seems like this resort is not for ordinary people.

Grace, yes he is. As what I read about his interview in a thread here somewhere, he seems like a nice man and a close friend of Mayor Lim.
I'll PM you.

I could no longer find the thread started by lindy about Canada.
I have one more place of interest that I forgot to share.
This was taken in the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls last summer of 2004.

Well, you already mentioned that's really difficult for the people who were born and raise there to just move which you're right it's not easy. Especially those who have farms and makes lots of money from it. They just have to live day by day and whenever something like this happens, I guess they just have to deal with it and of course by the help of the government assistance, they can always rebuild. And if terrible happen again they will keep rebuilding. The last time I watched CNN around noon the Speaker of the White House said, the President didn't pronounce them state of emergency yet, I hope by this hour, he did already.
My point is, whenever I know that my place is always predicted with natural calamities, I just have to deal with it and find a place to live that is better and comfortable for the whole family. Having said that, it's always good to sacrifice a little in order to survive and then we go from there.
Just like what happen to Katrina calamaties, most of the people from there moved. And now some of them went back and starting to rebuild.
The bottom line is it's a matter of choice.

for me Ms.Bams, safety comes first. Mag-unsa man ang love unya always in danger di ay ang life ahead. So magsabot gyud kung what's best either to risk it or to get away from it.
#2171
you're welcome Ms.Bams.
I have heard about the owner and it wasn't good.

Have seen this in CNN....  :( !  USA is a land not only of boundless posibilities also they have countless of  nature calamities.

That's right Ms.Bams, that's why it's very important to pick and know where you want to live in the US.

Tourism Secretary Ace Durano will arrive here on Friday to lead dignitaries during the opening of The Peacock Garden Luxury Resort & Spa, nestled on a hilltop in historic Baclayon town.

Sec. Durano will be joined by Rep. Edgar Chatto, chairman of the House committee on tourism and Gov. Erico Aumentado during the grand opening rites set 3 p.m. this Friday.

The resort owned by Hans & Lani Schoof will be the latest addition to the high-end resorts in the province.
Peacock Garden provides a breathtaking view of the sea facing Pamilcan Island, the islet famous for dolphin watching. Its well appointed 40 rooms assures an elegant stay as the peacock epitomizes the resort’s distinct take on “East meets West.”  European art and interiors meets Filipino warmth and hospitality.

Peacock Garden provides the first “fine dining” experience here with its German chef who can assure every dinner of an excellent dining experience.

I'm still suspicious about that "motobike riding" thing who's always mentioned in either killings or robberies.
I was wondering if they're the same people who's just being paid by somebody?
Or is it just the best transportation to get away?
