Sure Bro. Lorenz basta para nimo! I am from Libagon, Southern Leyte and there are really a lot of exciting things to do in Southern Leyte. Pili lamang mo, naay whale shark watching naa puy mountain climbing. Naa puy historical ug cultural. By the way, ang Libagon, Southern Leyte ang most Hispanic town in the entire Eastern Visayas Region tungod sa among municipal biulding nga Spanish-era pa natukod ug hangtod karon nagbarog pa. I dont have plans yet for 2014 kung asa ko ana but definitely I would love to help you in your planned vacation! God bless! ;D

Hi Bro Vincent  ! Yes, I am organizing a group of my friends from 'states and some friends over there in Bohol to do a 2 week excursion into Leyte and surrounding areas. We're looking at going back on 2014 (i am planning on staying in pinas for about 1-2 months). Would be nice if you could come and go with us around Southern Leyte and Leyte because it would be good to have someone go with us and chill with us that is from the area. The last time I was in Southern Leyte, Vincent, was 2010 and I trekked around Panaon Island as well as the outskirts of Sugod and Maasin, pero limited ra lagi akong experience didto. My plan is to rent a 4X4 with my friends and drive all around Southern Leyte and Leyte, see the areas that we have never seen before. I'll send you updates as the time goes by. There will be a group of 5 of us who will go. :)

‘Million Mustache March’ planned for April to encourage growth of facial hair (and the economy)

By Chris Moody | The Ticket

At long last, the mustache lobby is coming to Washington.

The American Mustache Institute (AMI) is planning a "Million Mustache March" on the nation's capital, part of an ongoing campaign to convince lawmakers to create government incentives to grow facial hair.  Rally organizers plan to mobilize their mustache-wearing compatriots on April 1 at the White House and march to Capitol Hill.

Their rallying cry: Pass the "Stimulus To Allow Critical Hair Expenses," or STACHE Act, which would "provide a $250 annual tax deduction for expenditures on mustache grooming supplies."  According to AMI research, mustached Americans earn 4.3 percent more money than "clean-shaven Americans" on average per yer.  Therefore incentivising mustache growth would boost the economy.

"Given the clear link between the growing and maintenance of mustaches and incremental income, it appears clear that mustache maintenance costs qualify for and should be considered as a deductible expense related to the production of income under Internal Revenue Code Section 212," wrote Dr. John Yeutter, a tax policy professor at Northeastern State University, in a 2010 white paper supporting the legislation.

hahaha it is the first time i ever heard of the existence of the AMI (American Mustache Institute) bwahaha ! kulirezz ! ;D

BANKING ON TRUST. DILG Bohol Provincial Director Louella Lucino reiterates the Sec. Jesse Robredo’s statement that it may not be long when only LGUS with the Seal of Good Housekeeping are eligible for government financial assistance and that loans and grants can only be allowed for towns or cities who can transparently disclose their fiscal management system (RAC/PIABOhol)

The seal of good housekeeping, which comes with a P1-million cash incentive has been awarded to at least three of Bohol’s towns and eight more are set to get it upon their compliance of claim requirements, she said.

The housekeeping seal is given to LGUS who have satisfactorily complied with the DILG directive to disclose how they spent their budgets.

Excellent ! Yes, local government units should be held liable for their financial transactions and their manner of use should be taken into consideration and should dictate whether or not they should get loans again.

Mao gayod!

The trust can come first from the local government’s compliance of the full disclosure policy, which will tell whether the funds at the LGU’s disposal were indeed spent according to plans.

At the recent Kapihan sa PIA, DILG Provincial Director Louella Lucino bared this as the DILG has earlier issued statements that towns or cities without the Seal of Good Housekeeping are barred from getting loans from government financial institutions.

Mao gayod ! I agree with this statement , Mommy Wella. More transparency and more fiscal responsibility should be exercised by the local government units. Good Job Mommy! :)

In separate reports, DILG secretary Jesse Robredo has been quoted as saying that before the end of the year, provinces, towns or cities without the DILG Seal of Good Housekeeping and a passing report card from state auditors would not get loans from the Land Bank of the Philippines, Development Bank of the Philippines or the Philippine National Bank.

This too as the DILG reiterates, local governments must also comply with government audit reports.
Robredo also reportedly revealed the plans [of government] to devolve the management and monitoring of the CCT to local governments that can be trusted or that the avail-ment of the CCT may also be soon requiring a housekeeping seal.
On the full disclosure policy, DILG Lucino said towns are mandated to put up their financial statements in conspicuous areas in their town centers, in a newspaper of wide circulation or on a local government website.

The Local Government Code and the Procurement Reform Act of 2003 has also directed local governments to post their annual transactions in public places.

Owing to the costs of posting its own websites, the local DILG has offered their DILG website as the venue where they can temporarily publish their financial reports. (30)

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol Sept 17 (PIA) â€" Local Government Units which have hidden their financial statements to the public may soon run out of other sources of priority development funds.

This as the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) hints the imposition of transparency in local governance and fiscal management through the imposition of the full disclosure policy.

The DILG, which has been awarding to towns and cities the seals of good housekeeping has reportedly made the full disclosure policy as a pre-requisite for loans, government financial assistance and grants from government financial institutions and international donors.
In fact, there have been reports that there are plans to devolve the management and monitoring of the government’s conditional cash transfers (CCT) to local government units who have satisfactorily shown they can be trusted.

History / Who is Perdo Calungsod?
February 19, 2012, 04:41:09 PM

Banner by Filipino artist Rafael del Casal depicting Calungsod during the beatification rites in 2000. Vatican City.

Blessed Pedro Calungsod was a 17-year old Roman Catholic Filipino migrant, sacristan and missionary catechist, who along with Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores, suffered religious persecution and martyrdom on Guam for their missionary work in 1672. Through Calungsod and San Vitores' missionary efforts, many native catechumens converted to the Roman Catholic Church through the Sacrament of Baptism. Calungsod was beatified on 5 March 2000 by Blessed Pope John Paul II. On February 18, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI officially announced at Saint Peter's Basilica that Calungsod will be canonized on October 21, 2012

He came to Cebu to preach Christianity using the missionary text [[Doctrina Christiana ]] as propagated by the Dominican priests. He then studied at the Jesuit town of Loboc in Bohol before sailing on to Guam.

In 1668, Calungsod travelled with Spanish Jesuit missionaries to the Marianas Islands, named in honour of both the Blessed Virgin Mary and of the Queen Regent of Spain, María Ana of Austria, who funded their voyage. Calungsod and San Vitores went to Guam to catechise the native Chamorros. He was martyred in Guam.

----

Regarding Calungsod's charitable works and virtuous deeds, Pope John Paul II declared:

“    ...From his childhood, Pedro Calungsod declared himself unwaveringly for Christ and responded generously to his call. Young people today can draw encouragement and strength from the example of Pedro, whose love of Jesus inspired him to devote his teenage years to teaching the faith as a lay catechist. Leaving family and friends behind, Pedro willingly accepted the challenge put to him by Fr. Diego de San Vitores to join him on the Mission to the Chamorros. In a spirit of faith, marked by strong Eucharistic and Marian devotion, Pedro undertook the demanding work asked of him and bravely faced the many obstacles and difficulties he met. In the face of imminent danger, Pedro would not forsake Fr. Diego, but as a "good soldier of Christ" preferred to die at the missionary's side.

“For if the will be forward, it is accepted according to that which a man hath: not according to that which he hath not.”

2 Corinthians 8: 12

-----

Very often we say to God, that we cannot do something because we do not have resources or abilities.

In most of those cases, we forget that God does things not by our strengths, but by his power. In other words, we say to God, that we do not have means to do something, for what God has all the means. We measure, what we can do, by what we have, not by God's abilities.

God needs from us basically one thing â€" our willingness to do, what he wants us to do, no matter if we feel able or not.

God is able to supply all necessary resources, and give us all strength that we may need. All we have to do, is to trust God. Be open to God and do not limit him.

The Holy Tridentine Mass is the perfect epitome of the faith and teachings of the One, Holy, Apostolic Roman Catholic Church. This form of veneration of the Holy Eucharist was in effect since the the 4th century AD, and through it The Christian Faith was dispensed throughout the World. Even before the Roman Catholic Church wrote and compiled the Holy Bible, the Tridentine Mass was already used in effect.

Beautiful. Absolutely Beautiful.
#16261
Liturgy of the Tridentine Mass

The Mass is divided into two parts, the Mass of the Catechumens and the Mass of the Faithful. Catechumens, those being instructed in the faith, were once dismissed after the first half, not having yet professed the faith. Profession of faith was considered essential for participation in the Eucharistic sacrifice.

This rule of the Didache is still in effect. It is only one of the three conditions (baptism, right faith and right living) for admission to receiving Holy Communion that the Catholic Church has always applied and that were already mentioned in the early 2nd century by Saint Justin Martyr: "And this food is called among us the Eucharist, of which no one is allowed to partake but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true, and who has been washed with the washing that is for the remission of sins, and unto regeneration, and who is so living as Christ has enjoined" (First Apology, Chapter LXVI).

Celebration of the Holy Mass In Extraordinary Form [Tridentine Mass]

The Tridentine Mass is the form of the Roman Rite Mass contained in the typical editions of the Roman Missal that were published from 1570 to 1962. It was the most widely celebrated Mass liturgy in the world until the introduction of the Mass of Paul VI in December 1969. In nearly every country it was celebrated exclusively in Latin, but the use of many other languages was authorized both before the Council of Trent and in the course of the succeeding centuries leading to the Second Vatican Council.
