Karyapa was the priestess who made a prophecy on the consequences of the coming of the Spaniards in Bohol. For this, she suffered under the hands of Sikatuna and Sigala.

Her prophecy is the first ever recorded poem by pre-Spanish Filipinos.

Great details on Karyapa's life can be shared by members of this select group called, KaKa (Kaliwat ni Karyapa).

I think Snowhite and Mr. Administrator are among the members of KaKa.

"Pizza Hut delivery!"

The voice behind the door shook be back to the danger at hand.
I just realized daydreaming about a particular pizza is dangerous to another person's mind. ;D
#1616
And then--

The image of a steaming, luscious, mouth waering chez andre pizza fresh from the oven flashed back to my mind.

This can't be! I just finished eating my second family size chez andre pizza.
Now I'm craving for it again!

God help me! I miss chez andre!

I didn't order pizza hut. I always go for chez andre.

I swallowed hard... grabbed the heaver glass ashsray in my hand and stepped gingerly to the door as I slowly turned the knob.

And then--

Also he asked us that bisaya is a very sophisticated language where we can use a one sylable word, five times to form a complete sentence like "Ang ang-ang ang ang". Meaning the stairs are narrow.

Bisaya man jud ta but here's something from the other language up north:

An Englishman, riding inside a passenger jeepney along Ayala Avenue, was mesmerized by the exchange of the driver and a passenger.

Driver: "Bababa, ba?"

Passenger: "Bababa."

Now that's a monosyllabic dialogue!

Regarding the arias, okay ra unta kon there is power sa ilang tingog and the words are clear. Ikaw na lang unta mikanta sa aria ni Karyapa, snowywhite.

Tagbilaran City - Bohol / Sandugo Oracles 2007
July 24, 2007, 05:34:56 PM
The costumes look great, the choreography is very much improved, and Snowywhite's performance was superb!!!

A few things I wished they had done for the 2007 version:

1. I liked better the 2006 version when Karyapa was captured with the rope (actually a length of cloth with each end tied to a bamboo pole). The effect was indeed dramatic (it brought tears to my eyes) than with this year's version when Karyapa hanged on to a slender bamboo pole latched over two paralel bigger poles.

2. Dropped the arias.

I congratulate Gardy Labad for the feat, and the rest of the cast for their performance! Same as last year, Karyapa is my favorite character.

To all of you Tubag Bohol Members who are not based in Tagbilaran, do everything you can to catch the Sandugo Oracles. I'm sure it will make you proud as a Boholano, just as it had to me, a hundred times over.

The Order of Sigala is envisioned to be a select group of well-informed, highly ethical and moral individuals who will perform oversight and review functions on governance and emerging social behavior.

In the Blood Compact saga, Sikatuna was the friendly chieftain who proposed and convinced Sigala (the chieftain with a superior rank) that a blood compact be made with the Spaniards headed by Legaspi. Sikatuna became the icon for international diplomacy and, hence, we have the Order of Sikatuna.

Sigala gave it much thought before he agreed Sikatuna will do the blood compact. (later on, he, too had a blood compact with Legaspi)

Sigala is the image of a leader who acts only after taking into serious consideration all possible implications of an action.

In a world where everything is happening so fast, we all need a moment to step back, clear our mind, inhale, and look at things from a wider point of view.

The Order of Sigala.

Using jackhammers to demolish a part of the building could have adverse effects on the entire structure.

Engr. Adlaon has a point giving the stoppage order, in the context of preventing the continued use of jackhammers. Our engineer-members in Tubag Bohol could share their views on this regard.

But stopping the demolition for good? This is another story....

How Engineers Build Their Love :

Scrape away all loose soil of pretensions
Dig deep to reach the bed rock of an honest relationship
Pour in the concrete of faithfulness as foundation
Erect the pillars of aspirations for life's direction
Hammer in the nails of stability
Pile up the bricks of security
Install the doors of opportunity

These are the lessons I learned from the Gospel of Mike:

Men are adventurous and lead a more active life in their younger age bracket that's why there's a higher tendency they die of homicide and car accident than women.

By around 36 women outnumber and are healthier than men so that the women can properly devote their attention, service and care for men.

That more men are suffering hearing loss than women is blessing to relieve them from the nagging of women.

That more older men tend to die of suicide (compared to more women attempting suicide) only validates men's strength in their decisiveness; while women are just couldn't make up their mind.

There is a purpose why some people turn out to become bad leaders: To strenthen the mettle of good leaders.

There is a lesson why some good leaders turn bad: Relying solely on human virtues will not help to maintain one's innocence in a worldly environment.

And this is what I've learned: Sometimes things turn bad so people can rediscover the goodness within them.

Health and Food / Fish Salad
July 19, 2007, 03:33:53 AM
Just finished making a reply to yadz in the thread "kinsay kinalamian moluo", I remembered this strange mix which I fondly call fish salad:

Ingredients:

Fresh Fish meat (I prefer the large meaty fish, i.e., tanguigue, tuna) cubed
ginger finely chopped
finely chopped onions
sili espada ( i don't know its English name basta kay it's long and green) finely minched
mayonaise

Procedure:

Put all togther in a bowl and mix. Vinegar is a big no no because if you put it in, then it would just be like an ordinary kinilaw.

I haven't tried it yet but for those whose stomach can't tolerate any sour, acidic ase, you may substitute mayonaise with nestle cream. Add a bit of salt to taste. Enjoy :)

This was the time when a tricycle drivers and operators association was holding daily rallies against the former LTO registrar, amistoso.

With sheer luck, I guess, I obtained my license.

Your photo, mike, as poster boy should reflect the care-free expressiveness of tubag bohol members... We say what's in our mind.... we're not really the stiff and cautious type who take careful pains to arrange the words so that no one will ge hurt... no formal words... just downright clear and real to brighten up everyone's day.

So be a good chap, dear mike, and dress up for the shoot! ;D

Rose can dress you up for the shoot.

Tubag Bohol should have a poser boy.

Who else should it be but you Mike!

Mike, you should have a photo in a floral polo shirt unbottoned to the chest with panglao's beach on the background with a cocktail drink in your hand. And yes, wear a beaming smile!

The Philippines is already slowly opening its arms to China. Just look at the deals and projects involving the awakened giant.
The Philippines cannot afford to be confrontational against China.
China will fortify its hold as the regional leader of Asia. Japan? Nahhh...
It is good foreign policy to strengthen relations with China without alienating our old allies.

Ang damgo makasasala
