Most scammers (work abroad, pyramiding, etc.) are perpetrated by people outside Visayas and Mindanao.

Bran, I will never forget this topic. And I will do something about this to dismantle the horror caused by humiliating the Bisayan people that includes you and me.

I remember watching a cultural show in Central Mindanao University in Bukidnon. I was handling a seminar then and I postponed coming back to Davao because I wanted to watch the show.

I remember that night, after watching the show, my patriotic heart experienced a rekindling of passionate love for my and only Philippines.

The name derives from Solidad Street (Brewpoint is part of Solidad Building), ibabaw sa HSS, or near the dead Solidad Printing Press.

To be more specific, near the Internet Cafe of Mari. :)

We don't want to be a website where junks of messages like "hi, open this, Bill Gates will share his wealth with you... I am dying I have millions in the bank and I want you to take care of my assets when I'm gone from this world..." are tolerated.

We also do not want to be a website where insults and threats are tolerated for the sake of the so-called "freedom of speech." We already had so much of that stuff during our childhood. We already had so much of that stuff from people who barely know the true content of our hearts.

If you believe that friendship is one of the most beautiful things in the world, let TubagBohol.Com become an oasis of love and peace and understanding and cooperation among Boholanos and Filipinos and other citizens of the world.

We value everyone's presence in this website and we will always treasure your friendship.

I used to ride Victory Liner and that was comfortable ride? Was that  70's? I know MB or MV liner was long time ago, I was very young at 7 y.o. when I last ride it. Imagine that all end seats are open! Have you experience riding on roof top of the bus? I experienced that with the old St. Jude bus, high school pa ko adtong panahona. Wala na na ron, dili na pwede seguro. I think that riding on the roof top was a treat! basta lang walay ulan. Nobody see us kay gabii man sad to everytime I'm on the roof top. My mom used to say gara kuno ko but because I was with my buddies, I insist to be up there. I've enjoyed it! Nowadays, that's a no no.

Hi Liza,

I haven't experienced that. What I couldn't forget was my father's reminder pag mosakay na ug St. Jude: "Ajaw katulog kay way ali."

Bachelor in Basa-basa
By M. Ligalig

Kasagaran anaa na magyampungad anang computer games nga way hinungdan ug way hikabangkaagan inig human ug dula.

Ang uban sab sige ra ug chat ug kaha sige tan-aw ug TV. Kinsa pa may moadto ug bookstore karon aron mopalit ug libro?

Hinumdumi nga way mohatag nimo ug diploma ug way mopalechon nimo kung mograduate ka ug BS-BS.

Note: The place where Tubag Bohol comrades from all over the world gathered for an eyeball last December is the latest casualty of the series of robbery in Bohol province. Do you think we have to change venue for our next Eyeball?

In the headlines:

The famous Brewpoint, a coffee shop in the city, was the latest site of a robbery which happened when most of the cops and city residents were in Dauis town last Friday to send off the relics of St. Therese in a colorful fluvial parade which ended past 10 o'clock Friday night.

Two suspects, one armed with a handgun and another with a knife barged into the coffee shop almost unnoticed, pretending to be friends of the cashier.

The cashier, Cherryl Pinkian of Tamblot Street and server Sharon Gulle of Taloto, this city, narrated that the suspect armed with a handgun approached Pingkian and whispered that it was a hold-up. She immediately yielded the amount at the shop's cashier amounting to P4,000 and a check worth P3,000.

It was only when the two suspects left Brewpoint that customers started to notice the commotion inside the coffee shop at Lou Square, corner Soledad and Miguel Parras streets, this city

There are already two Boholanos who topped the licensure examination for physicians given by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).

The first Boholano topnotcher was Dr. Alfonso Dampog of Batuan town who topped the licensure test in 1967. He is a product of Southwestern University in Cebu City.

Dampog was a consistent scholar graduating as valedictorian of Batuan Elementary School and at the Bohol High School Class 1959 with two college scholarship grants.

The second Boholano to top the physicians' board exam was Dr. Edilfavia Mae Suaybaguio Uy of this city. She topped the latest board exam with a rating of 86.33%.

Inspiration & Hope / Kindness from Strangers
March 02, 2008, 09:34:59 AM
While I was taking a flight to Surabaya, Indonesia, for a Bible conference, the flight attendants brought meal service. I had just eaten in the Singapore airport, so I declined, asking only for a soft drink. The Indonesian man next to me, a stranger, was visibly concerned.

The man asked if I felt okay, and I assured him I was fine. He then asked if perhaps the meal didn’t appeal to me. I responded that I just wasn’t hungry. He then surprised me by offering his own meal to me, thinking that if I tried it I might actually enjoy it. It was done in such a gentle and genuine way that it was obviously an expression of his concern for my welfare.

In a self-centered world where we are conditioned to look out for our own interests above and beyond all else, such kindness was unexpected. The man’s simple gesture showed a different kind of heart and a different set of values. As followers of Christ, we are called to model a similar counter-cultural attitude toward life (Phil. 2:1-8).

In Hebrews 13:2 we read, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” What better way to represent Christ than with kindnessâ€"even to strangers.  â€" Bill Crowder

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. â€"Hebrews 13:2

Inspiration & Hope / Have you offended someone?
March 02, 2008, 09:27:34 AM
During the compilation of the Oxford English Dictionary, managing editor James Murray received thousands of definitions from Dr. William Chester Minor. They were always sent in by mail and never brought in personally. Murray was curious about this brilliant man, so he went to visit him. He was shocked to find that Minor was incarcerated in an asylum for the criminally insane.

Years earlier, while in a delusional state, Minor had shot an innocent man whom he thought had been tormenting him. Later he was filled with remorse and began sending money to support the widow and her family.  Minor was imprisoned for the rest of his life but he found practical ways of easing the pain of his victims and contributing to society through his work on the dictionary.

When the dishonest tax collector Zacchaeus heard Jesus’ message of grace, he chose to return more than what he had extorted from others. “Look, Lord, . . . if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold” (Luke 19:8 ). The gospel of grace stirred Zacchaeus to help those he had harmed.

Have you wronged someone? What steps will you take to help make things right?  â€" Dennis Fisher

He shall make restitution for his trespass in full. â€"Numbers 5:7

Tourists who comes to Bohol are not looking for a Disneyland kind or experience.

They want to experience nature, an out of civilization experience, away from the noisy city, a simple life. They want to discover a different kind of economy/culture, curious about how we Filipinos are surviving amidst ailing economy and remain happy regardless.

Its up to us to show them the real us, a people full of hope, strong in spirit, we have to show to them that money is not the only source of happiness.

I invite rich people around the world who are troubled and desperate to come to Bohol and discover a natural theraphy.
