Wisdom!

Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our beloved national hero, Father of the Republic, would smile upon you if he were alive today.

The memory of the great Rizal is disgraced by these neo-peninsulare elites who dare to use his name for self glory to promote their own clamor for change, when in the end, they support status quo edicts! There is no strengthening of the massa as what Rizal clamored for and reminded us, through his writings and self sacrifice!

Instead these peninsulare elites use us as fodder, as pawns in the game of national control. Media-politic.

They have no right to dare call on the name of Rizal. He would spurn them to the street if he were alive today; in fact he LOATHED the peninsulare class as well as the corruption of the friars within the church. He despised the landed aristocracy. Despised them.

It was the oligarchy that supported the friars in persuading the colonial government to have him executed. His idealism was to 'radical'.

Then , when the blood of Rizal was spent, used him as an idol to legitimize their role in government during the American Colonial Administration!!

Their audacity to play with Rizal. Audacity.

They are nothing but whores of society that prostitute the people for their own purpose and movement in society and maintenance of power.

I beg to disagree, and pagbutang ni Rizal sa pedistal as National hero is the main reason nganong ang Pilipinas gipangulunan ug mga elitista.

When I brought my Year 2 (7 year-olds) son to school this morning, I was amazed to see a Year 6 (11 year olds) student bringing laptops to my son's class. I presume their first class is on IT. I saw Dell laptops laid on the tables, probably mid-level specs and I presume one for each student. When will this happen in the Philippines? And yes, my son goes to a public school. It is a Roman Catholic Church partly funded primary school.

Sa asa man ka nga country karon sir?

Sa Pilipinas, naa nay daghan mandates to teach students basic computer training.  It is even mandated to teachers to integrate computer skills in teaching other subjects. I used to teach in one of the barangay high schools sa Bohol, the school's computers is the schools initiative, 1 given by the barangay council and 1 funded by the school.

How would teachers enhance their computer skills nga pag-abot sa ilang balay or bisan sa ilang schools wa may computer?  Good for me kay I have been into computers since the early 90s.

ANg pinakadaku nga issue man gud sa edukasyon sa Pinas has only 1 common source, Policies, Laws, and Mandates are made by people who haven't taught a real classroom.  Yeah, maybe they have been a college professor.  But, that is entirely different from Primary and Secondary levels.

Now tell me Mr. Senator or Mr. Congressman, kung sakto ba nang imong gipangbuhat?

By ROLLY T. CARANDANG
Manila Bulletin

Senator Edgardo J. Angara urged the incoming administration to legislate an integrated computer education starting in elementary level to prepare the youth in the latest advances in this field.

To do this, Angara proposed to include basic computer applications and programs in primary schools to produce highly skilled workers in programming, digitally-aided designs, hardware, networking and software development.

“Our people need to be updated on the latest advances in technology. The youth must be scientifically and technically prepared to fully tap their inner talents and contribute to national development,” noted Angara, former UP President.

Angara also proposed the creation of the Board of Computer Education to asses, supervise and monitor the accreditation of schools; provide the curriculum for computer-aided logic, math and science education in the elementary level; and monitor over all performances of the schools and the students.

Tsk. Tsk.  Wa gani kabuhat sa high school, when the mandate was still from 1993 then karon ang elementary na pud?  Besides, it is already part of the Key Programs and Projects of the Bureau of Education.

This is how a former UP President thinks? Or maybe just looking for another way to waste public funds? Too bad!

Last Monday, I was on a send-off trip to Manila.  Seeing a flock of outbound tourists last Monday to the US at the NAIA was overwhelming. Maayo gani tong akong gihatud kay akong na brief in terms of personal IDs and work leave authorizations, etc. Wa ka demano sa pag fill-up sa form I-94 and the actual interview sa port of entry.  Doubtful ang intention and a conflicting answers with that of the forms they filled-up and a doubtful port of entry with the persons they are staying with.  AND the actual reason in the applicant's DS-156 (now DS 160) is also verified.  Grabe ka strikto na ang US karon labina na nga naa na puy mga threats didto last week (NY bmb scare, neal vinas case, etc).

On a side note.  PAL is still offering 1 free roundtrip ticket to the US with USD 500 allowance for passengers who will give-up their seats for chance passengers  (VIPs, diplomats, etc).  Once you give-up your seat for them, you will be scheduled for another flight schedule (earliest would be next day).    ;)

Fore !

thank you po..=)
God bless..

why not let them apply for immigrant visa rather than tourist visa?
if you really want them to apply for tourist visa then go ahead.  mas kunti kasi applications ngayon.  Don't wait till july or august.

To those kinds of people that they need to feel that "high" of having "made it", good for them. They deserve it. Laliman ba gud pud ang tinag 12hr duty 6 days a week. Lahi-lahi man ta. For those who are like me nga mabaw ug kalipay, sige ra pilit sa Mama, ligo dagat, tambay sa barkada unya bisita sa mga kahayupan,  I hope ingon sad sila nga "good for you" ( or more probably, pagkang tihika si Ging-ging,wala man jud ni duga). wahahaha !

Preha ming ga trabaho, dli lang ko sige mag overtime, dli sad ko nagapadala ug daghang kwarta buwan2..pero gamay ra man sad ko utang, wala man sad ni complain akong mama, wala sad ni complain akong bana..awp..ok ra pud nako.   :)

bol-anon, that is another good point. There has been so much happening here these days it literally makes one head spin!

I am living here where as many persons in this form are in outer areas away from here. Most often it is burried if something had went wrong with a tourism activity.

One time  friend of mine who was the tourism cheif in Philippines let me in on some very breaking incidents that had happened with several foreigner deaths happening in one weekend all in Panglao. He told me it could be written about but his name could not be mentioned as the provider of the information.

On that particular weekend  was told that a Korean drowned in Bohol Divers swimming pool, then a Japanese women had rental tanks for diving and was rented out faulty apparatus system and she drowned in the middle of her dive here.

Another incident involved a Chinese Filipino man who had suffered a heart attack at a resort.

Another incident kept silent for a while was a group of Japanese tourist who had arranged a tourist deal coming to Bohol were all held up and lost all types of electronic and jewelery valued at quit a bit.

I was the first one to write about it but later the editor at the time made it into his own front page banner and I was the one who had done the interview and provided the documents on all these things that happened mentioned up above.

Bambi ....Please refrain from bad usage of words. She may be a Filipina skin and body but who knows she could be a citizen from any country as people need not be born or have the native blood to be a citizen.... and stop being so kniave you know as well as I do that foreigners who commit crime here are treated way more different....But we are not onion skinned about it when we hear about such things.

Things happen by all types of persons so we all have to deal with it whether we like it or not.

i think maka relate ko sa story ni jas4 bahin anang ranking. just an example, a 30 year old teacher beat out tenured teachers in getting the vacant position as a principal in a central school. the 30 year old teacher did not even experience as a head teacher but eventually became a principal. im not sure how they ranked the teachers or how they pool future principals. i think it's up what educational background a teacher have for him to be able to qualify as a principal. maybe jas4 can give us an idea how public school teachers are ranked and how the district supervisor decide who to promote.

public school teachers/principals/supervisors ranking is supposed to be based on performance (from teaching experience), grades, seminars and trainings, and many more.  Pero naa ko nadunggan lately nga naa na daw exams for principals and other supervisory positions.  Also, ila sad diay giapil ang place of residence, that means kung kinsa ang resident ana nga barrio amoy mauna then if wala, within the town, then district, then division then so on and so forth.

By the way, wa nako giapil ang politics, though daku na ug factor.  Kay, klaro naman sad daan.

If the 48 programs are copyrighted, then probably majustify.  With the 15k PC, yes, maybe. That if you use a pirated OS and pirated quicktime pro.  With multiple licenses, depende na sa kumpanya, kay naay softwares nga walay VLK or the VLK  needs a minimum requirement.

Mike a forum was held the documents were there those involved were boholano men and not from other countries or other provinces.

Many times media here also blames and high lights that foreigners are so bad that they are the causes of all evil in Philippines.

Anyone else saying anything else rude in here that a another has done wrong in soceity than refrain from USING THAT PERSONS COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. (Especaily in the title).

NOW IF THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN FOREIGNERS INVOLVED HOW WOULD YOU LABLE IT THEN?

JUST LIKE THEY ALWAYS HAVE EXAMPLE; "GERMAN MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED KIDNAP IN CEBU BEACH RESORT.

WE KNOW THIS IS A SENSITIVE SOCEITY WHEN THEY HEAR that SUCH THINGS are HAPPENING BY THEIR OWN NATIVES AND ESPECAILY FAMILY MEMBERS AS BEING THE ALLEDGED SUSPECTS AND PERPETRATORS IT IS EASY TO BE UPSET.

FOREIGNERS OFTEN HAVE TO STOMACH THE BLAME GAME INSUNUATED ON THEM BY THE FILIPINO HERE WHEN THEY ACUSSE FOREIGNERS AS BEING THE ONES TO BRING IN THE SEX ABUSERS, RAPEST, KILLERS, THE ONES WHO ARE DOING THE TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS.....(Have you been keeping up to date on who is doing what and it is not the foreigners who are doing it here.)

HOW DO YOU THINK THOSE PERSON FROM THE OTHER COUNTRIES ENJOY SEEING THEIR COUNTREIS NAME IN A TITLE WHERE A BAD CRIME HAS BEEN DONE by one or two people from their country?

IT IS NOT RIGHT IN ANYONES EYES TO SEE THE COUNTRY'S NAME IN A TITLE IN WHERE ONE MAN TO A FEW HAVE COMMITTED A CRIME.
IT IS THE INDIVIDUAL MAN HIMSELF NOT THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE....

I THINK I HAVE MADE MY POINT CLEAR.

MY RADAR IS UP TO SEE HOW MANY MORE TITLES ARE WRITTEN by Filipino authors who put the country name WHEN SOMEONE HAS COMMTTED THE CRIME in the Philippines.

I WANT THAT PEOPLE BE VIGILANT AND NOT HAVE THIS MIND or sort of myth THAT SAYS "PHILIPPINE PERSONS NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG." LOOK AT THE TITLES IN HERE IT IS SO ANTI FOREIGNER AND IN A DURAGATORY SENSE YOUR ALWAYS SAYING "FILIPINO IS BRIGHT, THE BEST IN THIS AND THE BEST IN THAT?' I THINK IT IS CONTRADICTING TO TALK ABOUT SUCH THINGS WHEN THE COUNTRY IS STILL A THIRD WORLD AND STILL HAS MANY PROBLEMS.

I WANT TO SEE ACTION NOT JUST STORIES ABOUT HOW BRIGHT AND SMART THE PEOPLE FROM HERE ARE, I WANT TO SEE THESE PEOPLE WORK ON IMPROVING THE COUNTRY IF THE TITLES about being bright and smart HOLD TRUE.

I PERSONALLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE FILIPINOS BEING ABLE TO AFFORD GOING TO COLLEGE because presently the SCHOOLING IS VERY EXPENSIVE HERE.

The sad truth of the matter is many who I have seen graduate are not always promised a job here.

I would like to see laws implimented, and a safer more healtheir country to be in. Everynight I am scared to drive from point A to point B.

Do to the increased reports that there are plenty more hold ups more then ever of both victims being foreigner and Filipno and the perpretrator is from here.

I would like to see the political scene get their act together so people are not with-out means such as water... or other necessities for life.

Please do not boast about how smart the people are when there are so many continued efforts to make in making Philippines a better place it starts with the proof that the people are so bright and smart that they can make a better change then it is at current state.

I would also like to see the people speak out and not be hadlok to say what is wrong with-out thinking they will suffer for what they say later.

I would say this in person as well as in the internet. DO not talk the talk you must walk the talk!"

As a former teacher of one of the barangay high schools in Bohol, I can clearly say that the main reason for this is the unjust and unfair practice from ranking to future trainings.

Sa ranking, lisud irank ang usa ka teacher ed graduate from good schools especially if those schools are really known sa ilang training were students get just average grades compared to a cum laude graduate sa usa ka mayukmok nga college nga bisan di moskwela kakuha japon ka ug 1.0 nga grado.  Daku ni siya apekto sa total ranking.  Then nga politics within the school district.  Kung kinsa naay kaila, chances are dali makasulod.

Sa trainings, most higher ranking teachers, like head teacher, master teacher or even principal and other supervisory ranks ang pirme makaadto ug trainings instead of giving it to new teachers who really needs such.  I joined a National Summit for Science Teacher before, ako ra jud tawn teacher I, the other lowest rank was master teacher I and then rank goes up.  Sad thing was, ako nibayad tanan nako gasto though I did not mind since what I need is the experience in such summits and trainings.

If simple politicking sa school districts will end, then it would be easier to train the teachers.  Bisan pa unsaon na trainging ang naingong mga teachers sa first post, all those teachers will do is fill in the attendance sheet and who knows what happens next.  Chances are, matulog, mag-inom, mouli, yg uban pa.

Then tell me, makatabang kaha ang training?

One more thing, dili jud nako makalimtan nga experience why some teachers wont teach their students well.  I ask my subject/department head teacher if I can require the students to bring calculators, and she just sad "Unsaon man na nila nga hangtud High school ra man na sila, di man na kadayon ug college."  Imagine this teacher telling me this s***?!?

Just my 2 cents.

@ate states, daghan na nahimo ingana.  But our government is not listening, labi na election period.  And the problem sa atoa is One year before election and one year before election is election period and would leave one year, that if magtrabaho jud sila, as their work time.  Maong way mahimo nga sakto nga policies.

Like what Gintonic said, dili man magbayad ang volunteers unless gipangwarta sila sa head nurse or whoever is assigned sa personnel but not on the hospital.

Also, lay mobayad man sad ang mga nurse for experience, giabusohan sad.  Plus our government is doing nothing for the nursing regulations, may it be in curriculum or on PRC side.  Just recently, naay 35k plus nga nakapasar sa nursing board.  And to think, wa nanaghan ang hospital sa atoa.

Close to not talking in absolute terms..., meaning, we get OT (out of topic) easily but we know how to come back and get out of trouble... we spice things up a bit to get out of monotony of a topic or subject - and inject all kinds of thoughts, some harmful but with no intention to hurt (although sometimes our tactlessness do hurt)... sexual overtones and undertones but with smilies in them, etc.

In short, most people here at TB are not hardened criminals or what-have-you. They're just people trying to have fun over at the internet... expressing their thoughts, feelings or what... and we don't even know what part of the world they are from. Yes, we do have Boholano lineage - most of us if not all - but we're not bad people as you have insinuated or blatantly call us at times (that trigger not-so-good-thoughts), which naturally - without reservation - is pure speculation or simply a blatant accusation. I'm religious, yes, but I'm no messiah. I won't let anyone throw stone at me (unless I wear a hard hat). But admit it, you yourself got carried away way too easily because of just one word "foreigner" the writer of the article we don't even know. Maybe we should stone the media man, hahaha.  ;D

ouch. hahahahaha... gabii pa ko sige kinatawa pads.

NHI is just an implementing body.

Okay for foreigners in here the last thread posted was a threat that if i keep up with my onest comments that they want to slap my face and have a gang to go after me to back them up.

They are getting mad as expected because they can not help their own heartfullyand they do not know how to handle those who are helping hearftfully.

The person is highly jealous of those who have to pat themselves on their own back for helping Filipinos who are less fortunant trying to help make this a better place.

No one else will pat us on the back instead they would rather throw up and sucre on us!

Hahahahahahaha... Thanks for tickling my balls.  "Slap my face and have a gang to go after me to back them up." sa binisaya pa "Ug ako kaha itamparus sa imong dagway ang grupo nga akong gitabangan para mohubag na imong baba nga pataka ra ug yawit."

@bai bqn, hilas man gud kaayo mangistorya mura'g siya ray kamao maconcern sa iyang isigkatawo.

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), is the agency that manages the IP address space allocations globally, cooperates with five Regional Internet Registries (RIR's) to allocate IP address blocks to Local Internet Registries (Internet service providers) and other entities. To be become an LIR, you need to be a member and registered to the RIR in the region where you are in.

The Five Regional Internet Registries (RIR's) are:
1. American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN)- for North America and parts of the Caribbean.
2. RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) - for Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
3. Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) - for Asia and the Pacific region
4. Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) - for Latin America and parts of the Caribbean region
5. African Network Information Centre (AfriNIC) - for Africa

so matter what you're gonna do, eveything is basically in place and you nobody can't hide even if you are using pseudonyms.

Exactly...
