Bishops push anti-condom drive
by Vito Barcelo

A day before the 15th Congress opens and President Aquino delivers his state-of-the-nation address, the Roman Catholic hierarchy renewed its push for natural family planning, saying that artificial birth control violates Catholic teachings.

In a pastoral letter, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines urged Mr. Aquino to continue the moral legacy of his mother, the late President Corazon Aquino by rejecting policies that promote the widespread use of condoms, pills and other contraceptives.

The Church favors only the use of natural family planningâ€"which advocates abstinence during a woman’s fertile period.

The prelates released the statement, signed by Bishop Nereo Odchimar of Surigao del Sur reiterating their stand against abortion and insisting on the use of natural family planning.Odchimar is chairman of the CBCP’s commission on health care.

The bishops rejected the proposed law on reproductive health and population and development that was re-filed by Rep. Edcel Lagman as House Bill 96.

The bishops said the bill is similar with House bill 5053 filed in the last Congress which seeks to control the country’s growing population and prevent the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases.

“With the utmost concern and urgency we express our strong objection to the fundamental aspects of House Bill 96. The basis of our moral objection is once again the central religious truth of the divine origin and divine image of the human person, of one’s being and life,” said the CBCP.

“Science has proven that some contraceptives render the mother’s womb inhospitable, thereby causing abortion,” it added.

The Church leaders reminded Mr. Aquino that the constitutional protection of the unborn child from the first instant of conception was a legacy of his mother.

“It is a legacy given to us some twenty years ago during the presidency of President Corazon C. Aquino,” said the CBCP.

The prelates instead supported the pending “Act Providing for the Safety Protection of the Unborn Child and for Other Purposes” or HB 13 filed by Rep. Roilo Golez.

... this report said, “Science has proven that some contraceptives
render the mother’s womb inhospitable, thereby causing abortion,” it added.

So, therefore the Bishops recommend the WITHDRAWAL METHOD and the CALENDAR METHOD?

Withdrawal Method has a negative effect on men. Makabayot daw. Any violent reactions? Hehehehe.

Calendar Method is possible but to the society of Class A and B. Why not include C?

This is my experience in the LTO.

Daray, i just renewed my license lately.
i never experienced what you have stated above.
I went to LTO SM. 2nd Floor. Tapad sa SM Bingo.
First, i paid for drug test. (adjascent room)
Second, a doctor check my eyesight. (adjascent room)
Third, i went back to LTO at the other door and started Step 1 (Payment for renewal)
Fourth, Step 2, photo shot.
Fifth, Step 3, Wait for my license.
I get my new license in less than 5 hours.
There was no exam in renewing LTO license.

You maybe referring to new applicants?
At the LTO main office Quimpo Blvd?
At SM LTO, hassle-free didto. Walay exam if renewal of license.

Believe me.

PS. Asa man diay ka nga LTO? Nga naay exam
ang renewal of license? Di ba parehas man proseso
nationwide?

Yes it is true nga naay tax ang mga sari-sari store.
Walay exemption. Pero, gamay ra. It is our obligation
to pay taxes bisag gamay basta makatabang sa gobyerno.
But when paying taxes, daghan ug exemptions inig file sa tax
like: bawasan imong bayronon kon, Head Of Family, or the
Numbers Of Your Children, computation of Taxes is always
based on your sales.

klaroha palihog imong pangutana, mr/ms kan-ogong.

question 1:  bishops push anti-condom drive?  yes, it's quite obvious with this news item.

Korek, i 2nd the motion.

Love Talk / Re: Dream Job or Soulmate?
June 09, 2010, 11:54:19 AM
 ;D  ;D  ;D
Mike you mean current job or business?
If dream job, wala. Hahahaha.

Soulmate? My friend had jokingly told me during his wedding anniversary,
"Paita oy, 25 years married na ko, usa gihapoy asawa. Pobreha nako oy."
Ingon ko, bad na ha, basin tinud-on nimo. Keep your family. Bond them with Love
what Jesus Christ has commanded, and pirmi malipay ang Ginoo nimo.
Ug i-bless ka niyag daghan pa."

Ug nakurat siya sa akong wisdom. Unsaon, gipanudlan man ko sa Holy Spirit
that time mao nga chada kaayo akong istorya niya. Ug na-serious siyag balik

It was just a joke, pero it was a win-loss joke.
We, men, must always be fair with our wives.

Whatever happens.

 ;D  ;D  ;D

Gusto ko cremation.

From hospital morgue (if ever i end up in the hospital,
crematorium. Then in less than 12 hours from bangkay,
abo na dayon ko.

By this, na-eradicate ang taas2 nga lamay sa balay
or sa funeral home's chapel. Minos gastos (by 75%), dili pa mahago
nga madelatar ang daily sched nila of doing the rat race
in life.

But, kinahanglan nga naay Requiem Mass for me.
This is my catholic wish to be presented to the heavens
through a requiem mass.

Before all of this, I wish before ko mamatay nga maka-avail
ko sa last Sacrament nga Extreme Unction. I really wish for that.

Now, this is just a wish.

What if dili ko nila ipa-cremate? Wala koy mahimo.
family, nagpalit nakog St. Peter's Plan for my Coffin, and
Wake expenses at their Aircon Chapel.

Announcement gamay.

I am planning to sell atong duha ka Lot.
Kinsay gusto magpalubong sa Davao, hala, pm naah.
Hehehehehehe.

nga: "Luma-luma'g kamatay, way gibilin nga panglubong."

Tama ba igsoon? Okay, God bless you.

Maayo nga idea gwargz. Why not start from our own backyard.

How about ang TBTK mag organize ug tree planting drive. Manghatag ug libre nga seedling.

Yes, let us start from our own backyard.
We will plant Bohol with trees.
Let us start in Guindulman.
Kinsay taga Guindulman dinhi sa TB?
Kindly connect to your Mayor.

Akong nahibaw-an pod sa una mga 10 years back nga some of the Acacia trees sa Loboc giputol sa taga Boheco.

Mack, in Ferniz, i salute your Lolo.

Seafood may be delicious but boy do they smell awful...our dried fish doesn't smell too fabulous either. The market place is the hub of the town...those trees were providing a great service. Shade, for one, a natural coolant...which is pretty healthy, people die from high blood pressure complications from the heat, it also freshens the air as it gulps tons upon tons of carbon dioxide.

This may be of little significance to others but think of all the birds that nest  in that tree...the bigger the bird population, the more birds who will eat the worms off of the crops.

Also, big trees like acacia provide shelter for spiders like the wolf spider, like our local, tapay2. Even though I don't like spiders with a passion, they do eat a lot of awful insects...and provide food for the birds.

a tree is just bigger than emotional attachment, memories and shade, i'm sure if we really dig into it, we can find a few hundred other reasons why we should preserve them.

Lex, the Mayor of Guindulman may be inhaling carbon dioxide mao iya gipaputol ang trees para wala siyay kompetensya.
Lex, the Mayor of Guindulman may be thinking like a worm that was why she got rid of the trees to drive the birds away.
Lex, the Mayor of Guindulman may be thinking she was a house insect which is a prey to lawa-lawa, that drove her to cut the trees.
Lex, the Mayor of Guindulman may be has no brain that thinks of, to borrow your words: emotional attachment, memories and shade.
Lex, the Mayor of Guindulman may be thinking she needed to be glorified of her decaying mental health that she cut all the healthy trees.

I still don't understand the reason why the mayor has to cut them down. She must have known the impact on the environment. It is beutiful to see a market place adorned with greens around it. It will appear like people are really buying fresh items on that place. The only reason  I can think of is " Attention ". She must have bored or not doing enough for the community and the trees got her attention instead. Poor trees and the community!

For me, 100% Sakto jud ni tanan imong gisulti.

in the first place, it was the concerned local Brunei residents who made the government to act helping save the trees. the voice of the people made themselves heard before the trees are gone, forever.

in Guindulman, it was different. after the trees fell, so were the reactions abound. the voices came, but the trees were long gone. aren't the local residents any caring and concerned? did someone try to stop the chainsaw and make a trip to the mayor's office? too bad if no one ever lifted a finger, even among those habal-habal operators and block-tienda owners, to impact a bit of awareness about the impending death of the magnificent trees. we have misplaced our courage. we root for a candidate to the last drop of our blood, as we've witnessed here at TB, yet not a single voice was heard to rally against the order while the trees were still standing.

i don't know.

but i know, most of our people have been always complacent and disconcertingly alien to our ecology. and, sadly, many have more to worry about than caring our environment; that the thud of a falling tree would only mean nothing but firewood and building materials. business as usual.

Zero social concern. Zero community participation.

In short, not to hide my feelings, walay Guindolmanon nga nagpakabana.

Imagine, sa dili pa putlon ang punoan (which took about 25 minutes),
mag-pruning pa man sa mga sanga (which took about 25 mins to 1 hour per tree, depende sa gidaghanon sa sanga).

Mao nga nakaingon ko nga walay nagpakabana nga Guindulmanon.
During sa pagpamutol sa Acacia which possibly took a day, naglabay-labay lang sila tanan, SILENTLY.

I would like to believe it is true that the government has done none to preserve the beach trees.
I browsed DA website, including BFAR but found nothing but fish, fish, fish, cage, cage, cage, tilapia, tilapia, tilapia, etc.

But i still believe there is or there was a long term program to this.

AKONG SUHESTIYON : Inday or Dodong, global ni nga problema. Dili lang sa Guindulman. Ikauwaw ba nga naputol inyo kahoy? Dapat nimo IKASUKO! Kasabot ka? Ha?

AKONG SUHESTIYON : Ayaw ko apila. Basin BUDLAT kag mata, mao nga gasiga pirmi.

MATUD MO : Ang chainsaw operator nga namutol sa acacia, namatay! unya wala mahibaw-i ang sakit....Mao ra kini ag sakto kanato ang maligno, barang, ug ingkato.
AKONG SUHESTIYON : Wa mahibaw-i ang sakit kay wala ma-autopsy. Simple as that.

AKONG SUHESTIYON : Don't hide the fact that you can not understand simple English. Do you? Karon ka pa naulawan sa banyaga? Gusto kag bisaya? Di man gani ka kabalo unsay bisaya sa word nga BANYAGA? Dodong ang BINISAYA sa Banyaga is LANGYAW. Banyaga is a tagalog word sa LANGYAW. Nakasabot na ka?

Apila ko sa listahan.

Gwargz Prudente Monreal, Malaybalay City & Davao City

sa Guindulman without researching kon unsay maayong buhaton, putlon o dili.

pwede man unta to dili lang hilabtan. Puongan lang sa mga patay nga sanga
aron dili maka-disgrasya. Kon may bangag man galing sa punoan, which is

The Philippines need a dictator. An absolute leader....but not a criminal one, one who is like a strict father or mother that will straighten out the crazy teenagers.

Maybe when the cultural attitude has changed to that of being more responsible and forward thinking, we can go back to democracy, pero a Dictator is in good order.

Simply lang man akong panan-aw ani ba? Negosyo man god ang politika, " it takes a Peso to earn a Peso." So kining mga aspirants, they invest money para modaog. I am sure they want to serve but there are always "gray" areas in the name of service. Let's face it, asa man sila i-suporta sa ilang mga tawo nga naglihog para nila. Given na di ba?

Which to me, is not really a big deal. What is big deal to me is kung wala gyud moabot sa katwhan, diretso na lang tanan sa ilang bulsa. That is where the immorality lies.

GIBO ... HE IS THE ONLY PERSON, who convinced Ismael Mangungudatu
to think twice in running the governorship in Maguindanao,
but failed to convince the latter, before the Maguindanao Massacre happened.
Now it is also known as the Backhoe Massacre.

Why convinced Mangungudatu?
Because Mangungudatu can not be dicatated by Malacañang,
unlike the Ampatuans.

HEAVEN AND HELL

While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Philippine Senator was tragically hit by a car and died.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem.
We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups.
What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven.
Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course.
In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends
and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress.
They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times
they had while getting rich at the expense of the Filipino people.
They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.
They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven."

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud,
playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers:
"Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful,
but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land
covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags,
picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator.
"Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse,
and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time.
Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil smiles at him and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning ...Today, you voted."

Vote wisely!

The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving. ( Oliver Wendell Holmes)

Arki, sakto si Oliver Wendell Holmes.
