Hello  everyone. This is Balong. Wala na man tay lingaw kay suspended na man ang NBA games, di na ta kakita ug duwa, concentrate na pod ta sa negosyong ginagmay. I am a very very small time trader in the US stock market. $100,000 ra goy ahong pohonan. Kasagarang mga traders million ang pohonan. Pamugas lang ning ato. Ug may swerte pakapinan ug isda. Tungod kay gamay ra man ko ug pohonan usa ra ka trade mahimo sa use ka adlaw.

Sa pagka karon nag concentrate ko ug trade sa Tesla Motors, the company owned by Elon Musk which manufactures electric cars. Maayo ning Tesla kay kusog kaajo mo saka

Today mi taya ko ug $80000. I was able to buy 187 shares at $426.10. I sold at $450.37 for a gain of $4556.

     THANK YOU LORD.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, the great American thinker and philosopher said, "Money which represents the prose of life, is, in its effects and laws , as beautiful as roses".     Then at another time, he said. "Money is of no value. It cannot spend itself. All depends on the skill of the spender."

Money is a very important part of our everyday life. In order that there be happiness or contentment in our hearts, it is important that the material things in life be taken into account.

Poverty is the main cause of fear, disappointment, failure and other effects of evil. If we remove poverty, we remove the greatest obstacle to the attainment of the good and full life.

We must learn to think rightly about money.

We must not look upon money itself as power. This is a false premise, and it is apt to lead into thoughts of evil.

WE must remember that all power is in ourselves and that it comes to us through faith, and that it's only source is in our God.

"To All The Girls I've Loved Before"

To all the girls I've loved before
Who travelled in and out my door
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the girls I've loved before

To all the girls I once caressed
And may I say I've held the best
For helping me to grow
I owe a lot I know
To all the girls I've loved before

The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To all the girls who shared my life
Who now are someone else's wives
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the girls I've loved before

To all the girls who cared for me
Who filled my nights with ecstasy
They live within my heart
I'll always be a part
Of all the girls I've loved before

The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To all the girls we've loved before
Who travelled in and out our doors
We're glad they came along
We dedicate this song
To all the girls we've loved before

To all the girls we've loved before
Who travelled in and out our doors
We're glad they came along
We dedicate this song
To all the girls we've loved before

What a $1 million vacation looks like in Mykonos, Greece, where you'll fly in on a private jet, sleep in an ocean-view villa, and cruise the seas in a yacht

Villa Sara in Mykonos Greece features an ocean view, infinity pool, helipad, and 12 Aegan cocooning areas, among other luxurious delights.

Billionaires' vacations don't exactly look like your everyday vacation.
Amir Benesh, CEO of luxury home rental service LVH Global, provided a glimpse of what a 7-day, $1 million vacation for 14 people looks like in Mykonos, Greece.
It involves a private jet, helicopter ride, and charter yacht, plus gourmet food and VIP treatment at clubs.
It's equal parts luxurious and adventurous.

USA and Canada / America Weeps for the Fallen
August 11, 2019, 04:22:24 AM
Hi Rene,

America weeps for the fallen," said President Trump in his address to the nation on Monday morning, after the weekend shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.

Eloquent, elegant.

That's quite a word, "weep." It's old Middle English. It means to cry, of course; but more than that, to mourn and lament over a deep, painful loss.

At least, the line resonated with me. I'm busy, probably just like you. I have things happening in life and business, probably just like you. But pause for a moment, take a breath. It's so sad.

And ponder the cruelty of fate. You weren't there? Not injured? Hey... It could've been you. So maybe mutter something like... What. The. Hell.  Or words to that effect.

An awful person – two awful people last weekend; both deeply, profoundly troubled – killed a group of (mostly) strangers. (Note: the Dayton guy killed his sister! Ugh.) It was indiscriminate.

Psychiatrists tell us that people who don't value their own life tend not to value the lives of others.

In other words, someone who's already in a very dark room drags us all in there with him.

And it's pretty much always a "him." For over half a century, almost every mass-killer in the U.S. has been male. (Only one female.)

This kind of mass-killing has happened so many times that there's even a profile. Alienated. Disassociated. Childhood trauma. Bad parenting; almost always an absent father. Lack of socialization. Outcast. Radicalized. Lone wolf. Mentally ill. Psychotropic drugs, in many instances.

In recent decades, add in that people are conditioned to violence through a lifetime of routine media horror, and desensitized to death by now-common video games. Spun-up by Internet lures, and social media click-bait. As my friend Jim Kunstler wrote, "this is exactly what you get in a culture where anything goes and nothing matters."

We live in a nation of 330 million people. If one-one-hundredth of one percent are truly, deeply troubled – perhaps even certifiably nuts – that's 33,000 potentially very dangerous people out there. At some point, some people are wound so tight, they simply snap...

So, yes... weep for the fallen; and weep for what this whole thing says about our country.

"This whole thing?" You probably know what I mean... The personal loss, and the follow-on political theater.

Because when will the politicians get through with this? Well, here's the calculus. Two horrible, awful, total strangers committed mass-murder, and we'll all lose our freedoms because of it.
Saturday, I boarded an airplane in Vancouver. Dutifully, per federal air regulations, I shut off my smart phone. Five hours later, I landed in Detroit. The El Paso news was burning the wires.

By the time I landed in Pittsburgh, airport security was unusually tight. I walked out past the security perimeter, into the non-TSA spaces where the place was crawling with police officers wearing body armor, carrying shotguns and M-16s.

And the next day, the morning news was from Dayton. Two mass-shootings in less than 24 hours. Unbelievable...

When I first saw the news about El Paso, I had a flashback.

I've been inside that Walmart. It was in 2011. I flew to El Paso and met up with Agora Financial colleague Matt Insley. We went on a road trip to visit a series of mining projects in West Texas and New Mexico.

At El Paso International, Matt and I rented a car. We drove to the Walmart just south of the airport, off Interstate-10.

Inside Walmart, we bought a couple of regional maps, cold drinks and a few odds and ends to tide us over for the next couple of days in the field.

I recall that the Walmart was crowded, much of the clientele was Hispanic, and most signage was in spanish.

I turned to Matt and remarked, "Looks like we're in a serious border town."

A casual comment, but Spanish signage in a West Texas store was nothing new to me. Long ago, in the late 1970s, I worked in that part of the world as a geologist for the old Gulf Oil Company, now part of Chevron.

When you spend time in the "Texican" oil patch, and hang out amongst oil workers, you realize that the border isn't really a solid line, as lines go. Indeed, you get a feel for how the cultures of Mexico and Texas meet and mix.

The border between the U.S. and Mexico has long been fluid; at least, socially fluid. There are lines on maps. There's fencing along the border; even a "wall" in places. People carry different kinds of driver's licenses.

But the actual border is more like a mixing zone. It's similar to how two great rivers merge and combine their waters. Two different "upstream" channels join, to yield a new and different chemistry as they flow downstream. It's a force of nature.

The weekend news brought other flashbacks, too.

I remember the first time I heard about a mass shooting. I was ten years old; it was August 1966. A very troubled man – Charles Whitmore, with a large tumor squeezing his brain – climbed a tower and shot up the University of Texas.

Whitmore's episode was the worst mass-shooting in U.S. history until the massacre at San Ysidro, California in July 1984. I was in the Navy, stationed nearby in San Diego; but deployed offshore at the time. Still, that shootout left an impression. You may not be safe, even buying a hamburger at McDonalds.

In October 1991, San Ysidro was surpassed by the Luby's Restaurant massacre in Killeen, Texas. I was in the Middle East, just after Desert Storm. I heard the news and remember thinking... I'm over here, and back home people are shooting up restaurants.

Then there was Columbine, Colorado; April 1999. Again, I was far away in Bahrain when the news hit. I recall being in a room full of Navy SEALs. The discussion turned to being deployed on the other side of the world, defending so-called "American interests" while at home the country was falling apart.

Of course, there have been many other locales; other mass-shootings. Several come to mind (and the list is truly far longer than I can lay out here). Virginia Tech, April 2007. Fort Hood, November 2009. Aurora, Colorado, July 2012. Newtown, Connecticut, December 2012. San Bernardino, December 2015. Orlando, June 2016. Las Vegas, October 2017. Pittsburgh, October 2018.

Different people, different stories and motives. But definitely lone wolf-types. Sick people. Radicalized; and in some instances, sick angles on religion. I hold no medical license, but I'll opine that all of the shooters were mentally ill.

After each event, politicians made hay while looking for scapegoats. They called for more laws, more regulation. Blame the gun, of course... And that creates an instant political conflict with a fundamental right; 2nd Amendment.

Face it. Guns are not just about duck hunting. The "gun issue" is a critical political right, forged in the Revolutionary War and encased in the Constitution at about the time of the Whiskey Rebellion.

Somehow or other, though, the idea is that "government" – local, state or federal – will grab some new level of power over guns, gun sales, ownership, training, licensing, whatever... and keep us all safe from the baddies. Because... well, tight gun laws have worked so well in places like Chicago, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and more. Right? Oh, wait...

Here's the bottom line in it all...

Over many years, more and more mentally ill people have been committing more and more horrific acts, and we are all on the trajectory to hold fewer freedoms. Even if you've never owned or fired a gun in your life; you are going to come out of all this less free.

Some guy goes off the deep end and shoots a group of innocents. Now, we're all walking through the airport under the watchful eyeballs of cops, holding their guns at the ready.

So yes, this week I pause and weep for the fallen. What happened in El Paso and Dayton breaks my heart and burns my soul.

I don't know anyone who is directly affected by El Paso or Dayton; not that I'm aware, anyhow. But I get the pain and emptiness of survivors; the sense of bottomless loss. There's no such thing as "get over it," as the glib saying goes.

If you're lucky, after you lose someone you learn to live with what happened; as in, you wake up each day and go about life. It's like having a deep scar, if not a missing limb. Losing someone to random violence is a cross that people forever carry up a long hill, where the top keeps on receding.

And as for the rest of us? We're all touched as well... Because government power, oversight, surveillance and control is about to increase. It's another great loss, about which you might want to weep.

On that point, I rest my case.

Thank you for subscribing and reading...

Best wishes,
Byron King

Rihanna now has a net worth of $600 million, making her the world's wealthiest female musician.

She's made millions from music but most of her money comes from brand partnerships and her Fenty Beauty brand.

Rihanna most recently launched Fenty, a luxury fashion house with LVMH.

Rihanna is officially the wealthiest female musician in the world. With a fortune of $600 million, she's richer than Madonna, Celine Dion, and even Beyoncé. According to her label, Roc Nation, she has sold more than 60 million albums and 215 million digital tracks, making her the second-best-selling digital artist of all time. OAKLAND, Calif. - Oracle Arena started to empty earlier than usual.

As a surprising number of Raptors fans stuck around to celebrate their team being one win away from the franchise's first championship, the Warriors faithful left the building with the knowledge that this could have been Golden State's final game in its home of 48 years. Considering the ramifications, it was telling.

The Warriors' Game 3 loss brought about defiance. Draymond Green talked about winning three games in a row as if it was business as usual. (He said there were "fun times ahead.") The thought of losing two consecutive playoff games at Oracle was laughable. After Friday night's 105-92 loss to the Raptors, though, laughter had no chance of entering the fray.

The postgame comments came as expected. Taking it "one game at a time" was mentioned more than once. But there was a somberness that was palpable, and as the Warriors head back to Toronto down 3-1, you can't help but think this dynasty is coming to an end.

Game 4 had all the makings of a Golden State victory. At home in a soon-to-be vacant arena, key players returning, a history of overcoming 2-1 deficits - it made too much sense. But even the greatest of champions can't overcome so many obstacles.

During an event at James Bond author Ian Fleming's GoldenEye villa in Jamaica, the cast and filming locations for "Bond 25" were confirmed. The movie will take audiences to London, Italy, and more. Daniel Craig's Bond will be joined by returning faces such as Naomie Harris' Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw's Q, and a recent Oscar winner was revealed to be the movie's villain.

"Bond 25" has had a rough journey to this point, though. The movie was pushed back from its original release date this November to next spring after director Danny Boyle exited the project over creative differences. Now, "Killing Eve" creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has joined to polish the script.

It's unknown when the movie's title will be revealed, but for now, here is everything we know about "Bond 25."

With the rise of the Internet, terms like encryption, cloud computing, and URL have become household words, but we often lack the in-depth understanding of these words, no matter how important and widespread they may be. And it's not our fault either, as most of us weren't taught any of this in school. At the same time, we use the Internet to connect with others, to make purchases and even to manage our banking or healthcare, and not understanding Internet jargon may leave us helpless or, in the worst case scenario, it can even expose us to hackers and identity theft.

If this is about you and you think you're missing some knowledge about Internet lingo, on this list you will find 10 essential Internet terms that every beginner should understand.

Warriors beat Raptors 109-104 to even NBA Finals
By BRIAN MAHONEY | AP Basketball Writer

Jun. 3, 2019 12:23 AM ET

TORONTO (AP) The Golden State Warriors relied on a champion's heart to overcome their weary bodies.

Klay Thompson scored 25 points before leaving with a hamstring injury, Stephen Curry had 23 and the Warriors ran off the first 18 points of the second half on the way to a 109-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night that tied the NBA Finals at one game apiece.

With Kevin Durant already out and Thompson eventually joining him in the fourth quarter, the Warriors don't feel great - but they would've felt a whole lot worse flying home in a 2-0 hole.

''I think that when you get to this stage, our DNA shows up,'' Curry said.

Andre Iguodala, himself slow to get up after a hard fall in the first half, made the clinching 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds left after the Raptors scored 10 straight points to cut it to 106-104.

Kawhi Leonard had 34 points and 14 rebounds for the Raptors. They had won five straight since falling behind 2-0 in the Eastern Conference finals.

Curry appeared to be laboring as well in the first half, returning to the locker room in the midst of six straight misses to start the game.

But the Warriors cobbled together a good enough finish to the second quarter to keep it close, then stormed out of the locker room with one of their vintage third-quarter charges that have been so frequent during their run to five straight NBA Finals.

''Third quarter we didn't play well enough. We missed too many shots,'' Raptors guard Kyle Lowry said. ''They got out in transition and got a little confidence going. We lost the game there.''

DeMarcus Cousins was inserted into the starting lineup and delivered 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, and Draymond Green had 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists - missing by one assist a fourth straight triple-double.

The series moves to their Oracle Arena for Games 3 and 4, with the first NBA Finals to be played outside the U.S. assured of returning to Canada for Game 5.

The Warriors will hope to have enough healthy bodies to get through it. Thompson landed awkwardly after a 3-point attempt early in the fourth quarter and limped off soon after, with backup center Kevon Looney already missing the second half with a chest or shoulder injury.

And Golden State is still without Durant, who missed his seventh straight game with a strained right calf but hopes to return during the series.

For now, they got key contributions from Quinn Cook, who hit three 3-pointers, and veteran center Andrew Bogut, who wasn't even part of the roster most of the season but came off the bench for three baskets.

''It was a great win. We got to go home and protect our home floor and we'll see about all the injuries,'' coach Steve Kerr said. ''But I'm very proud of our team and in particular all the guys off the bench.''

Kerr said Thompson told him that he thought his injury was minor and he'd be fine, but added that ''Klay could be half dead and he would say he would be fine.'' Kerr was unsure the nature of Looney's injury.

Fred VanVleet scored 17 points for the Raptors, who had red T-shirts with their slogan ''We The North'' hanging on seats around the arena.

The Warriors sure were seeing red, especially Curry, during a mostly miserable first half when they missed 20 of their first 28 shots.

He hung his head and didn't even attempt to run back when VanVleet stole the ball from him and made a layup to give Toronto an 11-point lead with a little more than 2 minutes remaining in the half.

But Curry made two free throws for the final points of the half to cut it to 59-54, then the Warriors came back and pitched a shutout until nearly the midpoint of the third quarter during a series-changing - perhaps season-changing - swing.

Iguodala had five quick points including a 3-pointer that moved Golden State into the lead at 61-59. The surge continued with three straight baskets from Thompson and three more from Green, whose last one capped the 18-0 run that Elias said was the longest to start a half in NBA Finals history and made it 72-59 before Toronto finally got on the board with a 3-pointer with VanVleet with 6:20 remaining in the period.

''They moved the ball really well and were running freely,'' Raptors center Marc Gasol said. ''Once they run freely, everything opens up for them.''

The Warriors had won 12 straight Game 1s and this was their first time playing from behind in the finals since they were down 2-1 to Cleveland in 2015. They showed no signs of concern during the off days, and Thompson suggested part of the problem during their 118-109 loss Thursday was rust after they had nine days off in between series.

Their bigger problem early in Game 2 was the defense of the Raptors. But Toronto - which had a 23-0 advantage in second-chance points - missed a chance to take a comfortable lead into the half and couldn't overcome its 37 percent shooting, with Pascal Siakam going 5 for 18 for 12 points after scoring 32 in the opener.

TIP-INS

Warriors: Curry had his streak of 30-point games snapped at six. Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry share the Warriors' postseason record with seven straight. ... Kerr earned his 76th postseason victory, moving past Chuck Daly and Don Nelson.

Raptors: Siakam missed his first three shots, as many as he missed in Game 1 while going 14 for 17. ... OG Anunoby was active for the first time in the playoffs after having an emergency appendectomy April 11, but didn't play.

FAMOUS FAN

President Barack Obama sat next to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver across the court from the Toronto bench, getting a loud ovation and "MVP! MVP!" chants when shown on the overhead video screen and introduced in the second quarter.

"I am a doctor working at a little clinic. At about 8:15 am on a Tuesday morning, an old man in his 80's walked into my clinic to remove some stitches he received a few days before.

It was a very busy morning, and I asked him to please sit and wait. He told me he was in a rush, as he had a very important engagement at 9am he couldn't miss.  As he sat there,  I couldn't help noticing that he kept checking his watch. I decided to treat him since the doctor in charge was extremely busy, and I knew it would take at least an hour until he could see him.

I took off his bandages and saw that the wound was healing nicely. While I was gently pulling out the stitches, I asked him where he was off to that was more important than taking out stitches.  Was it also with a doctor?

"No," said the old man, "not a doctor. I am going to have breakfast with my wife, who is in the hospital."
"Why was she hospitalized, if I may ask?"
"She's been there for a few years now," he answered. "she has Alzheimer's and needs constant care."
As I finished taking out the stitches, I asked the man if his wife would be worried if he were late to their breakfast.
"No," he said quietly, "and she never will. She hasn't recognized me in over five years."

I was astounded by this and just had to ask: "And you go to her every morning although she doesn't know who you are?"
The man smiled, put his hand on mine and said: "She may not know who I am, but I know who she is, and I remember for both of us."  And he shook my hand, thanked me and left me standing there, my body shaking with sudden emotion.

"This," I said to myself, "this is what true love is all about. This is what I want for myself."
And I vowed, at that moment, to find such love.

Talk of the Town / WW3 US vs Iran
May 16, 2019, 01:58:13 PM
The US military is sending a carrier strike group, a bomber task force, fighter jets, an amphibious landing ship, and a surface-to-air missile battery to the Middle East as a show of force to Iran. There is a ton of firepower heading that way.

The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, which consists of the carrier and its powerful carrier air wing, as well as one cruiser and four destroyers, began moving into the region with an unspecified number of B-52 Stratofortress heavy long-range bombers earlier this week.

US Air Forces Central Command announced Thursday that F-15C Eagle fighter jets were repositioned within the theater to "defend US forces and interests in the region." On Friday, the Pentagon announced that the USS Arlington, an amphibious landing ship, and a Patriot surface-to-air missile battery are on their way.

Some things never change. The way we feel about our children, the smile we get when first we smell the earthy aroma after the rain. These feelings rarely change, nor do some core principles of what it means to be human and to be alive. Here are 19 things we should never forget, because they have always been true

A very poor man had a beautiful wife. His wife had luscious and beautiful long hair that she loved and adored. One day her hair clips broke and she wanted a new one to take care of her hair. "Honey, can you please bring me a new hair clip?" Said the wife. "I'm sorry honey. I can't even afford to get my broken watch fixed." He said with a heavy heart. As he was walking to work, he saw a watch shop. He suddenly thought of something. "Why don't I just sell my broken watch for a little money to get my wife her hair clips." So he sold the broken watch for a small fee and bought his wife new hair clips. As he got home he was shocked to see his wife with shorter hair. "Honey, I sold my long hair to the salon and bought you a new watch." She said with a smile on her face. Tears started rolling down her husband's eyes as he gave her the hair clips he got for her.

Jobless Migrant Family Of 10 Demands Mansion, Council Has Perfect Response
The father of a migrant family of 10, who not only refuses to work for his $147,000 benefits per year but is a full-time student on the taxpayer's dime, recently refused a free 5-bedroom house to demand a mansion for his growing family. However, after the councilman heard of the family's entitlement, he reneged on the offer and instead gave the perfect 7-word response.Arnold and Jeanne Sube fled Cameroon as asylum seekers in search of a better life, which they quickly found in France. Unfortunately, France's benefits didn't live up to the Subes' standards, so they headed to Britain, where they finally began living the welfare lifestyle of which many impoverished taxpayers and homeless veterans dream.

However, instead of gratitude for draining the taxpayers and refusing to contribute anything in return except more children, Arnold and Jeanne, both 33, demanded a larger house because their free 3-bedroom home is "too cramped." Hearing their plea, the Luton council decided that offering 2 extra bedrooms wouldn't be too far beyond the city's budget to suit the whining migrants. To their surprise, the family not only turned down the offer but had yet another demand. The Express reports that the Sube family responded to the council's generous offer of a free 5-bedroom home by insisting on being given a mansion with at least 6 double bedrooms. Shocked at their entitlement, a Luton Borough Council spokesman told them that since they're going to continue to demand without contributing, "We will offer the property to another family" and they will remain in their 3-bedroom house.

10 Tools Towards a Happy Life

1 – See that being joyful is your fundamental responsibility

The first and most fundamental responsibility for a human being is to become a joyous being. To be happy is not the ultimate aspect of life. It is the fundamental aspect of life. If you are not happy, what else can you do with your life? Only if you are happy, can other great possibilities open up.

Whatever you do, it is only your inner quality that you are going to spread. Whether you like it or not, that is the reality. Unless something of true value happens within you, you cannot do anything of tremendous value to the world. So, if you are concerned about the world, the first thing you must do is transform yourself into a joyous being.

Being Parked On a Back Road Is No Time For Secrets

A guy and his date were parked on a back road some distance from town, doing what guys and girls do on back roads some distance from town.

As things really started getting hot, the girl stopped the guy and said, "I really should have mentioned this earlier, but I'm actually a hooker and I charge $20 for sex."

The guy reluctantly paid her, and they went on with their business.

After they finished, the guy lit up a cigarette, sat back in the driver's seat and stared out the window.

"Why aren't we going anywhere?" asked the girl.

"Well, I should have mentioned this before, but I'm actually a taxi driver, and the fare back to town is $25."

Warren Buffet's Financial Tips

Warren Buffet is often ranked among the top 5 richest men in the world. His fortune is estimated at around $50 billion, 99% of which he intends to give to charity after his death. This self-made billionaire often gives advice to the top leaders of the world. Let's take a look at some of his wise words:

On reputation
It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.

On his most basic rules
Rule No.1: Never lose money.
Rule No.2: Never forget rule No.1.

On sources of income
Never count on a single income. Make investments to create additional sources of revenue.

On spending
If you buy things you don't need, you'll soon have to sell things you do need.

On saving
Don't save what you have left after spending, but spend what you have left after saving.

On taking risks
Never measure the depth of a river with both legs.

On honesty
Honesty is a very expensive thing, don't expect it from cheap people.

On inheritance
A rich man must leave his children enough to do anything, but not enough to do nothing.

On ideas
You do things when the opportunities come along. I've had periods in my life when I've had a bundle of ideas come along, and I've had long dry spells. If I get an idea next week, I'll do something. If not, I won't do a damn thing.

On the trickle theory
The rich are always going to say that, you know, just give us more money and we'll go out and spend more and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you. But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on.

On investing in the future
Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.

On habits
Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.

On becoming rich
I always knew I was going to be rich. I don't think I ever doubted it for a minute.

On learning from betters
It's better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you'll drift in that direction.

On price and value
Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

On taxes for the rich
If anything, taxes for the lower and middle class and maybe even the upper middle class should even probably be cut further. But I think that people at the high end - people like myself - should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we've ever had it.

On challenges
I don't look to jump over 7-foot bars: I look around for 1-foot bars that I can step over.

On being rich
Of the billionaires I have known, money just brings out the basic traits in them. If they were jerks before they had money, they are simply jerks with a billion dollars.

On risk
Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing.

On Wall Street
Wall Street is the only place that people ride to work in a Rolls-Royce to get advice from those who take the subway.

On how he invests
I never attempt to make money on the stock market. I buy on the assumption that they could close the market the next day and not reopen it for five years.

On hindsight
In the business world, the rear-view mirror is always clearer than the windshield.

On Ponzi schemes
Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.

On learning from history
If past history was all there was to the game, the richest people would be librarians.

On healing the economy
Economic medicine that was previously meted out by the cupful has recently been dispensed by the barrel. These once-unthinkable dosages will almost certainly bring on unwelcome after-effects. Their precise nature is anyone's guess, though one likely consequence is an onslaught of inflation.

My grandmother has been interested in magic and the Law of Attraction for a number of years. She could revive wilting flower just by using positive words as well as lower blood sugar levels with the help of creative visualization.

She knew that the money is just a flow of energy similar to our life, and always managed to attract as much money as she wanted. She revealed her "money mind tricks" a few years ago that you might find useful if you are looking for more money or just for inspiration, so read on!

The full moon phase is the best time for magical spells.

The magic wallet
If you truly desire to keep a constant stream of money in your life, get a brown or red (ruby red) wallet. These colors tend to attract more money, have the same vibrational frequencies as money, and have, in terms of money, a very positive effect to keep cash flowing consistently into your wallet.

The color red in color psychology means tremendous power, promoting ambition, leadership and passion, while brown color represents nature and everything associated with nature, serenity, perfection, and sense of security.

A spell of mirroring
My grandmother called this "a spell of mirroring" and even though it's a very simple trick, it works like a charm. The point of this magic trick is to put a small mirror into your wallet (between the banknotes), so the number of your banknotes will multiply.

Never leave a mirror in an empty wallet without banknotes, as this may cause a shortage of money.

Watch your thoughts while paying
What's on your mind when standing at the counter and paying for goods? Have you ever thought about it? If you feel uncomfortable because you are giving away your money, it's time to make a huge change.

Every time you pay for goods – be it at a petrol station, supermarket or at a pharmacy, say to yourself silently: "Dear money, tell your friends far and wide to come back to me in a week/two weeks/month in three times larger quantities."

Say it to yourself and then let it go. Always pay with love and never regret anything, because by giving you are also receiving. This is a very powerful spell that I use every day, and I see that money is actually coming back to me in such quantity as I imagined.

Learn to speak with money
There is nothing new under the sun that money is just energy. And because money is energy, you should treat them how you wanted to be treated. In other words, love money and money will love you. Talk about money and people who have become rich in a good way. Do not try to slander anyone or envy wealth, which these people gained. Envy is the biggest hurdle to financial independence, as well as doubts or incorrect behavior towards money.

Take a moment to sit down. Hold in your hands your highest dollar bill and start talking. Tell your money how much you care of them, and how you feel when having a large amounts of money in your wallet. Simply act as if they were your friends. Talking about or to money is one of the great taboos of our culture, so break this barrier and make a change!

And besides all this, we should remember that words have tremendous power – both written and spoken word.

The Extraordinary Power of Visualization
Visualization is extremelly powerful and effective when harnessed and used correctly. Every day before going to sleep, close your eyes and imagine that you go through a big white palace with blue walls and floor.

Walk down a long corridor until you come into the large hall where is the large wooden chest with your name. Open it and and start collecting money. Imagine that the bottom of this chest is endless, and continue collecting money from the chest until you fall asleep.

The magic with birch bark
Obtain white birch bark and write on it your desire. You can use a pen and pencil; bark material is very similar to paper. When it comes to money, write on it the exact amount you desire. Then put this birch bark on a stone or any other place that can't catch fire and ignite it.

Once your birch bark starts to burn, imagine you already have your desired amount of money in your wallet/bank account. Once the bark burns, say thank you three times, and let it go. The Universe will always find a way to deliver it.

For best results, use this spell during the full moon period (full moon lends great power to manifesting it).

Philippines' city of the future: New Clark
Project will be nation's first environmentally friendly, disaster-resilient metropolis
BY KIERAN GUILBERT
THOMSON REUTERS FOUNDATION

MAR 30, 2018

CLARK, PHILIPPINES – He may never set foot in New Clark City, but taxi driver Edgard Labitag hopes the Philippines' first green, disaster-resilient, high-tech metropolis will ease the pressure on Manila — meaning fewer hours stuck in traffic and more time with his children.

At the wheel on a sweltering Sunday afternoon, the 42-year-old bemoaned another shift spent inching along the infamously congested streets of the capital city of 13 million people.

"Crowding, pollution and traffic — this is what people say about Manila," he said, gesturing at the gridlock.

"But luckily the government has a plan . . . and (President Rodrigo) Duterte is the right man to see it through."

That plan is New Clark, a 9,450-hectare (23,350-acre) city that government officials say will be bigger than Manhattan by the time it is completed in 25 to 30 years, with an expected population of more than 1.2 million.

The aim is to build a city equipped to deal with climate shocks in one of the world's most cyclone-affected regions, and to promote healthy, eco-friendly and sustainable living by putting nature at the heart of development, urban experts say.

Reflecting a rising trend from Japan and India to the United States, New Clark seeks to challenge conventional urban planning by uniting government, developers, business and the public — and proving that green and resilient cities can be cost-effective.

"The objective is not simply to build a disaster-resilient city, but rather a successful, innovative and economically competitive city that is also disaster-resilient," said Benjamin Preston, a researcher at RAND Corp., a global think tank.

New Clark is still in its infancy, but Duterte is fast-tracking the project as the Philippines, one of Asia's fastest-growing economies, seeks to boost spending on infrastructure to create jobs and attract more foreign firms.

Yet even as the government races to build New Clark and tackle Manila's booming population, density and congestion, it must plan the new city with care and avoid past mistakes, says the state-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority.

"We need to strike a balance between fast-paced development that maximizes value for the private sector, and protecting open spaces and making the city walkable, green and resilient," said Vince Dizon, president of the BCDA, which oversees the project.

"Traditional development cannot overwhelm or overpower the area," he said. "For New Clark City, here lies the challenge."

Green agenda
Situated about 100 km north of Manila in Tarlac province near Clark International Airport, one of the country's busiest hubs, New Clark will be home to several government departments, an agro-industrial park and a huge sports complex.

Yet despite the range of planned infrastructure, only a third of the $14 billion city's land will be developed, with two-thirds reserved for green spaces and agriculture, the government said.

Houston and nearby Singapore have provided inspiration on how to plan the city in an integrated manner where water management and green spaces are linked closely to all urban systems, according to the Dutch architect Matthijs Bouw.

By focusing on nature and allowing plenty of open space along rivers, for example, New Clark can benefit beyond protecting itself from floods, said Bouw, who has worked on the master plan for the city with the government.

"Putting green areas on the agenda not only helps with water storage and drainage, but creates community spaces and guides street design in a way that benefits pedestrians and bikes . . . so social resilience also gets strengthened," Bouw said.

Yet the rapid pace of development and large number of actors working on different structures and systems means some aspects could "fall through the cracks, resilience-wise," he warned.

Making the case
Another challenge in designing and developing such a city is changing the mindsets of officials used to traditional planning approaches, who may be wary of going green, urban experts say.

"How do you do this in a regional context in Asia where there is massive and widespread corruption, and where elected representatives change in the short term?" asked Harini Nagendra, an author and academic based in southern India.

The answer: convince politicians and bureaucrats that making a city stronger and safer against modern-day threats will not slow down development, and will save their governments money in the long run, said Oesha Thakoerdin of the Asian Development Bank, which is backing the New Clark project.

Economists at RAND are seeking to demonstrate the social, environmental and economic gains from building resilience and are developing a business case to prove that green urban planning is not only an option for wealthy economies.

"Increasingly we are seeing middle-income countries realize that planning and investing in green areas in cities is critical for their development — and cost-competitive," Thakoerdin said.

Infrastructure gap
Urban experts say New Clark City could not only set a shining example for Southeast Asia in terms of balancing rapid economic development with social and environmental policies, but may also mark a turning point closer to home.

"(It) has the potential to take pressure off Manila so that Manila can also invest in building a more resilient future," said Lauren Sorkin, the Asia-Pacific director for 100 Resilient Cities (100RC), a network backed by The Rockefeller Foundation.

Manila is one of the world's densest cities, with 14,500 people per square kilometer — almost triple London's level — U.N. data show. Congestion could cost the capital $155 million a day in lost productivity by 2030, a Japanese government study has found.

Cities across the Philippines generate more than 70 percent of gross domestic product, while the percentage of urban dwellers is set to rise by 2050 to 65 percent — representing 102 million people — up from 45 percent today, the World Bank says.

While New Clark has been hailed for its vision, experts warn that the push for resilience in Asia may be sacrificed in the rush to invest the $1.7 trillion per year through 2030 the ADB estimates is required to keep up with the region's infrastructure demand.

"We're facing a huge infrastructure gap . . . and a rapidly growing urban population," Sorkin said.

"It's going to be enormously difficult to make up deficits, and plan for and meet emerging needs at the same time."

Jeff Bezos                                                                      Henry Sy

With an estimated net worth of $20 billion, SM founder Henry Sy Sr. remains the richest among the tycoons from the Philippines who made it to Forbes magazine's latest annual list of the wealthiest people on the planet.

Forbes said the 12 richest Filipinos had a combined fortune of $55.6 billion (about P2.9 trillion), nearly a fifth of the domestic economy.

Jeff Bezos is still the richest person on the planet with $112 billion, double the combined wealth of 12 billionaires from the Philippines, as the value of his e-commerce listed firm Amazon surged 59 percent in the last 12 months.

A record 2,208 billionaires around the world made it to Forbes' 32nd annual ranking. Altogether they are worth a record $9.1 trillion, up 18 percent from a year ago, according to the March 6 article posted by the US magazine.

An Oxfam report found that the world's richest 1 percent received 82 percent of the wealth generated in 2017, while the poorest of humanity got nothing.

The growing inequality has led to the rise of populist leaders, including US President Donald Trump.

52nd wealthiest in world Sy's net worth of $20 billion is over three times larger than the fortune of the next richest tycoon from the Philippines, as his net worth surged 57 percent from that of last year.

Globally, Sy who is turning 94 this year, is ranked 52nd richest, slightly richer than Elon Musk, who founded electric car maker Tesla, solar energy giant Solar City and spacecraft-maker SpaceX. Musk is valued at $19.9 billion.

Sy's group controls three of the most valuable companies on the Philippine stock market: SM Investments Corp., SM Prime Holdings and BDO Unibank.

11 other PH tycoons

SM Investments and SM Prime have both breached the P1-trillion market capitalization mark and are the first two companies to reach this milestone.

On the Forbes list are 11 other Filipino tycoons.

JG Summit founder John Gokongwei Jr., 91, is the second wealthiest person from the Philippines with a net worth of $5.8 billion, ranking 305th globally.

Universal Robina Corp., Cebu Pacific, Robinsons Land Corp. and JG Petrochemicals Corp. are among his group's crown jewels.

Enrique Razon Jr.—who has established a global footprint through International Container Terminal Services Inc. and is building an integrated gaming empire through Bloomberry Resorts Corp.—is valued by Forbes at $4.9 billion, earning him the 404th slot globally.

At 58, he is the youngest billionaire from the Philippines.

Tobacco magnate Lucio Tan, 83, is 441st on the global list with a net worth of $4.7 billion. He is also into banking (Philippine National Bank), aviation (Philippine Airlines) and liquor (Tanduay and Asia Brewery) businesses.

Tony Tan Caktiong, chair and founder of Jollibee Foods Corp., is next on the list of Filipino tycoons with $4 billion, ranking 550th globally.

George Ty, founder of the Metrobank group and who built a market-leading automotive business in the Philippines with Toyota, has an estimated net worth of $3.9 billion. The 85-year-old tycoon ranked 572nd globally.

As rich as Trump

Manny Villar Jr., 68, who focused on growing his real estate-based empire after losing the 2010 presidential election, is valued at $3 billion. He ranked 791st worldwide.

Among the listed companies under his leadership are Vista Land & Lifescapes, Starmalls and Golden Haven.

Villar is almost as rich as businessman-turned-US President Trump, who is valued at $3.1 billion.

Forbes said Trump was one notable loser in this year's rankings, as his fortune fell by $400 million since March 2017, now 766th in the world, down from 544th.

Andrew Tan, 65, founder of the Megaworld group, ranked 887th globally with $2.7 billion.

Ang valued at $2.5B

Ramon S. Ang, president and controlling stockholder of San Miguel Corp., has an estimated value of $2.5 billion. The 64-year-old tycoon ranked 965th globally.

Insurance and car dealership mogul Robert Coyiuto Jr., 65, has a net worth of $1.4 billion and ranked 1,650th globally.

SMC chair Eduardo Cojuangco, 82, is still among the world's richest with an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion even after he sold  a big chunk of SMC to Ang in 2012.

Roberto Ongpin, 81, still has a formidable fortune estimated at $1.1 billion. After selling out of gaming technology venture Philweb Corp., he is focused on upscale property developer Alphaland Corp.

Fewer Filipinos made it to this year's list compared to last year, when 14 made it to the roster.

2nd richest in world

Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates is the second richest in the world with $90 billion.

Jazz in position to claim 3 seed after beating Warriors
By JOHN COON | Associated Press

Apr. 11, 2018 3:08 AM ET

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Utah has a chance to write one more chapter to an improbable comeback story.

The Jazz put themselves in position to claim the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference after cruising to a 119-79 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. Utah did not waste time taking control of the game and led by double digits over the final 3 1/2 quarters.

Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points and set an NBA rookie record for 3-pointers. Mitchell went 4 of 5 behind the arc and has made 186 3-pointers this season, breaking Damian Lillard's record for a first-year player.

''I am actually thrilled for him that he did that,'' Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. ''He has been our guy, offensively, all year who we have relied on. He's unselfish, which makes the guys around him better.''

Derrick Favors added 16 points and nine rebounds. Jonas Jerebko scored 14 points, and Rudy Gobert and Ricky Rubio added 13 points apiece for the Jazz.

Utah (48-33) won its sixth straight game and went 3-1 in the season series with Golden State. Now the Jazz are tied with Portland in the standings and can claim the No. 3 seed with a win over the Blazers on Wednesday night.

''What makes it a story is no one expected it,'' Mitchell said. ''But the thing I've said all year is we knew we were going to be good. I don't think we knew we were going to be 3 seed good, but we knew we were going to be good.''

It is a surprising position for a Utah team that lost last season's top scorers Gordon Hayward and George Hill to free agency over the summer and was nine games below .500 at one point in mid-January.

The Jazz believed all along they could climb back into the playoff picture and make serious noise in the Western Conference.

''Guys took it upon themselves to just get better in the offseason,'' Favors said. ''We just stuck with the plan throughout the whole season and right now we're fighting for the third spot. Gotta give credit to everybody on this team.''

Even with a loss to the Blazers, Utah is assured of falling no lower than the No. 5 seed.

Klay Thompson scored 23 points and Kevin Durant added 13 for the Warriors, who finished the season at 58-24. Golden State, the No. 2 seed in the West, never led in the game and shot just 35 percent from the field.

The 40-point loss is the largest margin of defeat for the Warriors under coach Steve Kerr.

''We need the competitive spirit,'' Kerr said. ''We need the juice. We need the joy, and we haven't had much of that. So we got to get our minds right.''

Utah dominated on both ends of the court during the first quarter. The Jazz used an 18-3 run to stake out a 24-9 lead. Rubio took a steal in for a layup and Favors scored on a pair of dunks to ignite the run.

Mitchell scored on back-to-back possessions and then followed with a 3-pointer to help push the lead to 33-14. The rookie totaled 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting in the first quarter alone.

Golden State appeared it might rally after Durant scored back-to-back baskets to cut Utah's lead to 35-22. That's as close as the Warriors got. Jerebko and Royce O' Neale combined to score three straight baskets to push the lead to 43-24.

''We got to be better,'' Durant said. ''We couldn't really get a rhythm or a groove out there with the way we go down so early. We started pressing a bit and trying to get it all back at once.''

Utah led by as many as 45 points in the second half. The Jazz took their largest lead at 103-58 when Jerebko buried a pair of 3-pointers and Dante Exum added a dunk to polish off a 10-2 run to open the fourth quarter.

TIP-INS

Warriors: Thompson and Durant combined to shoot just 14 of 39 from the field. ... Golden State scored a season-low 33 first-half points. ... The Warriors fell by an average margin of 29.6 points in three losses to the Jazz this season.

Jazz: Utah scored 25 points off 16 turnovers. ... The Jazz had a 19-6 edge on fastbreak points and outscored Golden State 62-38 in the paint.

HOODIE STATEMENT

As the Rookie of the Year debate between Mitchell and Ben Simmons continues to heat up, the smack talk is following suit. Mitchell wore a black hoodie into Vivint Smart Home Arena before tipoff on Tuesday that contained the dictionary definition of a rookie on the front.

It offered a lighthearted jab at Simmons' status as a ''redshirt rookie'' after he spent what would have been his original rookie season sidelined with an injury. Adidas approached Mitchell about wearing the hoodie and he went along with the joke.

''We just wanted to all have fun with it,'' Mitchell said. ''That's all it is, having fun and just enjoying it.''

Mitchell reiterated he's not worried about the award and would rather see Gobert and Snyder earn Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors respectively.

QUOTEABLE

''We need to put things into perspective. When I was a rookie, we only won 23 games. And now some people say winning 58 is kind of a down year. That's incredible.'' -Thompson, on Golden State finishing 58-24 in the regular season.

Every moment in life has a purpose, and the path we walk will only take us to our destination if we learn how to find the good in the bad. This is why it is important to be thankful for things that seem bad, because, in the end, hardship is the only way we grow.

Your ability to be successful and happy is highly dependent on your ability to make clear decisions and solve problems in life in the best way you can. This is a guide detailing three distinct methods of being able to solve problems to the best of your ability:

Method 1: Approaching the Problem

1. Define the problem

It's important that you find the real cause of a problem and define it, rather than just looking at the symptoms.

•   An example of this is a constantly messy room. It could be messy all the time because you need more storage, not because you're an inherently messy person.
•   Be clear when you're attempting to define the problem. You can achieve this by being as honest with yourself as possible.
•   Is the problem real or self-created? Is it something that you need to solve or is it something that you want? Put things into perspective to navigate through the problem-solving process.

One day, King Solomon, the wisest man in the world, wanted to test the integrity and wisdom of his faithful servant. The King summoned his servant and asked him to carry out a task, knowing that it could not be completed. King Solomon said: "The Feast of Tabernacles is in 6 months, and I would like to wear a magic ring for the holiday. Any person who is sad and looks at the ring will become happy and any happy person who looks at the ring will become sad."

The faithful servant immediately went on the journey in the search of the mysterious ring. A month passed, two months passed, and the servant, who visited every jeweler and peddler in the kingdom, remained without the ring. Two more months passed, and the servant reached the limits of the kingdom, but he had yet to find anyone who had heard of such a magical ring.

Over time, the faithful servant became frustrated. With all his might he wanted to fulfill his master's wish, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not find the mysterious ring. He was depressed and almost gave up, until one day before the Feast of Tabernacles, he arrived at the small workshop of a poor jeweler in a small village.

The servant, who had nothing to lose, asked the old silversmith: "Tell me, sir, have you ever heard of a magical ring that causes the sad to become happy and the happy to become sad?" The old silversmith thought for a second, took out a small copper ring from one of the drawers, scratched it and handed it to the servant. The servant, who for the past few months had lost all hope, gave one glance at the inscription on the ring, and his eyes lit up. He thanked the silversmith, paid him a bag of gold coins, and hurried to the king's palace.

When the servant finally arrived at the King's Palace, Solomon was very happy and rejoiced. He did not believe that his servant would really come back to him with a ring. The servant handed the ring to his master, the wise king gave it one look and the smile immediately disappeared from his face. All the courtiers were curious to see what was written on the magical ring, and finally, when they looked at it, they saw the following simple sentence:"Despite everything, this too will pass"

This simple sentence contains a truth that we must cherish in our hearts - even if it feels like everything is going great and were on top of the world, we must remember that all this might disappear one day. On the other hand, and this is the happy side of the rule, all the suffering, all the frustration, all the difficult times we sometimes experience, these too will pass and be forgotten.

Send this story to all your friends, to remind them that even the most difficult moments pass in the end.

Harden has first 60-point triple-double in NBA history
By KRISTIE RIEKEN | AP Sports Writer

Jan. 31, 2018 12:15 AM ET

HOUSTON (AP) James Harden knew he'd have to do a little more on Tuesday night with the Houston Rockets missing key players.

Even he couldn't have imagined he'd do this much.

Harden became the first player in NBA history to score 60 points as part of a triple-double and the short-handed Rockets beat the Orlando Magic 114-107.

''I just gave it all I had tonight,'' Harden said. ''We all did. We all fought for 48 minutes, we got key stops when we needed to and we made big shots.''

Harden scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to eclipse the 57 points Calvin Murphy scored in 1978 to break Houston's single-game scoring record. After Harden broke the record, cameras in the arena showed a shot of Murphy, who works on the television broadcast team, smiling and clapping for the Beard, who also had 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The game was tied at 107 after a basket by Marreese Speights with just under four minutes to play. Neither team scored for more than two minutes after that before Harden took over, scoring the next six points to make it 113-107 with 45 seconds left.

He set the scoring mark when he stepped back and made a 3-pointer before crashing to the court after being fouled by Mario Hezonja. He then made the free throw to give him 60 points and bringing the crowd to its feet.

''Amazing (and) topped it off with a four-point play at the end,'' coach Mike D'Antoni said. ''But we had to have every minute from him.''

Harden, who also had four steals and a block, grabbed his 10th rebound a few seconds later to give him his third triple double this season. He made 17 of 18 free throws and was 19 of 30 from the floor with five 3 pointers.

He said he didn't realize he was the first player with 60 points in a triple-double.

''It's a good feeling, I guess,'' he said. ''Just try to go out there and make an impact every single night on the game, however I can. Whether it's scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, whatever it is. And tonight I guess I was doing everything.''

Hezonja and Speights scored 17 points each for the Magic, who dropped their third straight.

The Rockets started the game without Chris Paul, who has a sore groin, and Trevor Ariza, who is dealing with a strained hamstring. They lost another player when Eric Gordon, who is second on the team in scoring with 19.5 points a game, left early in the second quarter with lower back stiffness.

''I looked at coach and said: `Eric can't go,''' Harden said ''He said go get `em and after that I didn't come out of the game.''

Harden's big night came as he played 46 minutes and 26 seconds, which was a career-high for a regulation game, with Houston missing so many players.

''I was shocked to see that,'' Speights said of Harden not getting worn out by playing so many minutes. ''He didn't really get subbed out and that shows the growth in his game and the maturity in his game.''

It was his fourth 50-point game this season and Tuesday's performance bested his previous career-high of 56 points set in November against Utah.

''I have never seen a performance like that,'' teammate Gerald Green said. ''I caught myself just being a true fan throughout the whole game ... what he did today was remarkable.''

Orlando led by two points with about 9 1/2 minutes left before the Rockets used a 10-4 run to make it 101-97 with about seven minutes to go. Harden made two 3-pointers in that stretch, and wowed the crowd on the second one that he came as the shot clock was about to expire and with Shelvin Mack right in his face.

Houston didn't lead for long though, as Speights was fouled while making a 3-pointer and added the free throw to tie it seconds later.

The Magic had a 2-point lead with about 5 1/2 minutes left before Houston used a 6-2 run, with all its points from Harden, to take a 107-105 lead with about four minutes left.

Harden piled up 16 points in the first quarter and had 24 by halftime despite his early 3-point shooting woes. Orlando led 55-54 at halftime.

TIP-INS

Magic: Aaron Gordon missed the game with an injury to his left hip that he suffered on Saturday night. He will likely sit out Wednesday as well. ... Simmons and Mack added 15 points each.

Rockets: Ariza injured his left hamstring on Sunday. ... Coach Mike D'Antoni said he doesn't expect Paul to miss much time with his injury. ... Clint Capela finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

THEY SAID IT

Magic coach Frank Vogel on Harden's performance: ''That was a heck of a performance when your second, third and fourth options are out. He's likely the MVP of this year's season. He did what he had to do to get a win.

LOVE FROM LEBRON

Cleveland star LeBron James gave Harden some love on Twitter after the game , tweeting in part: ''That's insane G! 60 point Triple Dub. Sheesh!!!'' The four-time MVP added five fire emojis after his comment to show how impressed he was with Harden's game.

Health and Food / Church cures cancer
January 28, 2018, 05:35:02 AM

It's difficult to say what was in worse shape: the run-down century-old church or the cancer-stricken 56-year-old man sat on its crumbling steps. For many years, Greg Thomas would sit on these steps and pray when he walked his dogs along the country lanes in rural Minnesota. However, in May 2009, he found out that the searing earaches, headaches, and jaw aches that had plagued him for 12 months were due to inoperable head and neck cancer. In fact, it had progressed so far that doctors had told Greg's family to plan his funeral.

Greg was sitting on the church steps one evening when he decided he would like to do one last thing for the Lord. This something was to fix the peeling paint, the leaking roof, the mangled steps, and the rotting floorboards. He approached the church's association with a deal: He would repair the building if he got a key to the front door so that he could go in and worship whenever he liked. He warned them that it would be slow going as he had just undergone three rounds of chemotherapy along with 40 sessions of radiation. They agreed to his deal anyway.

Incredibly, as Greg scraped off old paint and replaced boards, he felt himself growing stronger each day. The more he worked, the better he felt – he didn't even need to use the strong prescription drugs that his doctor had prescribed to him.

As Greg continued to fix the church, medical scans revealed some shocking, but very good, news: His tumors were shrinking. Four years and 23 days after his diagnosis, doctors were able to remove his feeding tube – the one they said he would have for the rest of his life. Today, Greg's tumors are completely gone. He is now in remission and no longer needs any follow-up tests.

And the church? After five years of Greg's labor and love, it has been restored to it past glory. Greg finished his main project this summer, but he will always be involved in maintaining its beauty. Greg believes that while he was restoring the church, God was restoring him.

Savji Dholakia has to be one of the most generous bosses in the world – his employees get cars, jewelry and even apartments for meeting their yearly targets! The 54-year-old billionaire is the founder and chairman of Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd., a diamond manufacturing and exporting company that's based in Surat, Gujarat, India. It exports finished diamonds to no less than 50 countries around the world, and it has affiliates based in the USA, Belgium, the UAE, Hong Kong and China.

Mr. Dholakia started out in the diamond industry when he dropped out of school at age 13 and joined his uncle's diamond business. He then started his own diamond firm with his brothers, Himmat and Tulsi, in 1984, before setting up HK Exports in 1992.

Almost a quarter of a century later, HK Exports is considered to be one of the top 5 diamond companies in the world, achieving many prestigious awards for outstanding performance.

During the past three years, Mr. Dholakia has given away in excess of $8 million to some of his 6,000 employees as a reward for successfully meeting targets. In 2014, he gave away 491 Fiat Punto cars, 525 pieces of diamond jewelry and 200 apartments

In 2015, some 1,268 employees received gifts from their boss, but he managed to top his two previous acts of generosity in 2016 when he gave away no less than 400 apartments and 1,260 cars!
In addition, there's no sign of this stopping, as Mr. Dholakia has announced his intention to provide housing and transportation to every single one of his employees over the next five years.

Befittingly for such acts of generosity, Mr. Dholakia holds his big award ceremonies to coincide with the Hindu festival of Diwali, which is symbolic of the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and hope over despair.
