From Odan Matig-a:

The decline of America cannot be blamed on past presidents but to the present administration of Obama. The reason is because he is a leftist president. At the start of his administration he was able to obtain from congress 8 billion stimulus money. What happened to this 8B stimulus? Part of it he made as  giveaways to the unemployed... when in the past there were only 20 million Americans looking for the food stamps today with Obama there are now 45 million Americans asking for food stamps. According to Newt Gingrich he [Obama] is the best food stamp president in American history.

The other part of the stimulus were used to subsidize his cronies making solar panels and wind turbines. These gamble in the "greening of America" went flop with Solyndra fold up shop with the loan gone. And another in California "green" plant closing shop. Who will pay for the loan they acquired? Of course the future Americans!

The Obama administration is already loaning the future of Americans to come. He is now borrowing money from China that no president ever did. The US debt at present is beyond the total GDP of America which is 16 Trillion dollars. During the campaign my political adversary in Bohol-Forum argue that America is too big to fail with its 16 Trillion GDP.

In the case of California their bankruptcy of the state is to be blamed only to the Californians. Every American state have their own system of laws. California in the 1960's their economy is equivalent to the whole continent of Europe. Why is this state declining? In California liberalism is now mixed up with European Socialism. They are electing leaders in their state that made their state went bankrupt a long time ago. The state of California owes 15 Billion dollars to the bank and they have no idea where to get the money from because businessmen are going out of California. New York and Ohio have the same problem. Wisconsin was able to breath fresh air when they  brought back to the state capitol Scott Walker in a recall election.

This the picture of left wingers who want to takeover a capitalist government.

Panglao with its poor community will never prosper if we listen to leftist and socialist ideas. But you may ask; why the nation of Sweden, Norway, Finland, New Zealand, Australia and etc... etc...? Why? The answer is because they have a good control of their population.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Odan, u need to move to the states and know more who and what are LIFTEST & the RIGHTIES! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This cracked me! ouch ouch! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHA

(my journalist friend from MI)

How dare President Obama kill the #1 wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden! This reckless behavior further illustrates Barack Hussein Obama's utter disregard for America and our domestic problems. Need I remind everyone
that gas here has skyrocketed to over $4 a gallon while the oil companies are claiming record profits and our nation's unemployment rate is still 8.8%, which is nearly as high as it was when our last great President Ronald Reagan slept in the Oval Office. Killing the most wanted man on the face of the earth doesn't make my gas any cheaper, my buddy Obama. Nor does it put any food on my family, as former President (and true Patriot) George W. Bush might say.

Why the liberal media is fawning over their favorite President since that Socialist FDR shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Obviously they love him because he's black and he plays basketball. They don't call it March Madness for nothing. Only now perhaps it should be renamed May Madness. But why the liberal US media ignores the obvious facts to anyone with half a brain is the real puzzle. Obama's killing of Osama has put America in real jeopardy for further terror attacks. Terror experts have now warned us to brace for retaliatory attacks from Al Qaida. Hello? Tell me this doesn't prove that Obama is the Anti-American Kenyan born Muslim Anti-Christ! Wake up America and smell the gasoline!

Bahay kubo
Kahit munti
Ang halaman doon
Ay sari-sari
Singkamas at talong
Sigarilyas at mani
Sitaw, bataw, patani
Undol, patola, upot kalabasa
At saka meyron pa labanos, mustasa
Sibuyas, kamatis, bawang at luya
Sa palibot-libot puno ng demonyo.

(chorus)

Marijuana at shabu
Paborito ko to
Kahit bawal ay gustung-gusto ko
Para langit ay abot na abot ko.

Bridge
Ang tawag ngayon sa amin ay mga demonyo na may langit......

9. THE FIRST COMMANDMENT WAS WHEN EVE TOLD ADAM TO EAT THE APPLE.

10. THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT IS THOU SHALT NOT ADMIT ADULTERY.

11. MOSES DIED BEFORE HE EVER REACHED CANADA.

WASHINGTON â€" About 5,500 years ago someone in the mountains of Armenia put his best foot forward in what is now the oldest leather shoe ever found.

It'll never be confused with a penny loafer or a track shoe, but the well-preserved footwear was made of a single piece of leather, laced up the front and back, researchers reported Wednesday in PLoS One, a journal of the Public Library of Science.

Worn and shaped by the wearer's right foot, the shoe was found in a cave along with other evidence of human occupation. The shoe had been stuffed with grass, which dated to the same time as the leather of the shoe â€" between 5,637 and 5,387 years ago.

"This is great luck," enthused archaeologist Ron Pinhasi of University College Cork in Cork, Ireland, who led the research team.

"We normally only find broken pots, but we have very little information about the day-to-day activity" of these ancient people. "What did they eat? What did they do? What did they wear? This is a chance to see this ... it gives us a real glimpse into society," he said in a telephone interview.

Previously the oldest leather shoe discovered in Europe or Asia was on the famous Otzi, the "Iceman" found frozen in the Alps a few years ago and now preserved in Italy. Otzi has been dated to 5,375 and 5,128 years ago, a few hundred years more recent than the Armenian shoe.

Otzi's shoes were made of deer and bear leather held together by a leather strap. The Armenian shoe appears to be made of cowhide, Pinhasi said.

Older sandals have been found in a cave in Missouri, but those were made of fiber rather than leather.

The shoe found in what is now Armenia was found in a pit, along with a broken pot and some wild goat horns

But Pinhasi doesn't think it was thrown away. There was discarded material that had been tossed outside the cave, while this pit was inside in the living area. And while the shoe had been worn, it wasn't worn out.

It's not clear if the grass that filled the shoe was intended as a lining or insulation, or to maintain the shape of the shoe when it was stored, according to the researchers.

The Armenian shoe was small by current standards â€" European size 37 or U.S. women's size 7 â€" but might have fit a man of that era, according to Pinhasi.

He described the shoe as a single piece of leather cut to fit the foot. The back of the shoe was closed by a lace passing through four sets of eyelets. In the front, 15 pairs of eyelets were used to lace from toe to top.

There was no reinforcement in the sole, just the one layer of soft leather. "I don't know how long it would last in rocky terrain," Pinhasi said.

He noted that the shoe is similar to a type of footwear common in the Aran Islands, west of Ireland, up until the 1950s. The Irish version, known as "pampooties" reportedly didn't last long, he said.

"In fact, enormous similarities exist between the manufacturing technique and style of this (Armenian) shoe and those found across Europe at later periods, suggesting that this type of shoe was worn for thousands of years across a large and environmentally diverse region," Pinhasi said.

While the Armenian shoe was soft when unearthed, the leather has begun to harden now that it is exposed to air, Pinhasi said.

Oh, and unlike a lot of very old shoes, it didn't smell.

Pinhasi said the shoe is currently at the Institute of Archaeology in Yerevan, but he hopes it will be sent to laboratories in either Switzerland or Germany where it can be treated for preservation and then returned to Armenia for display in a museum.

Pinhasi, meanwhile, is heading back to Armenia this week, hoping the other shoe will drop.

The research was funded by the National Geographic Society, the Chitjian Foundation, the Gfoeller Foundation, the Steinmetz Family Foundation, the Boochever Foundation and the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at UCLA.

Science and Research / Home made Drano Bomb
June 07, 2010, 11:13:25 AM
(received this from an email)

Good safety info that I never knew; be careful and watch the video if you don't believe it.

Pay attention to this.

1. a plastic bottle with a cap. 2. a little Drano. 3. a little water. 4. a small piece of foil. 5. Disturb  it by moving it; and BOOM!!
6. No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc..

People are finding these bombs in mailboxes and in their yards, just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the trash. But, you'll never make it!!! It takes about 30 seconds to blow after you move the thing.

The recent study in the journal science that suggest some early humans mated with Neanderthals should come as a surprise to no one. Although the  Neanderthals became extinct 30000 years ago it seems the their DNA lives on in people today, evidently in some more than others.

Indeed most women today will tell you they have dated a Neanderthal at some time in their lives. They do not mean this as a compliment.

That cultural bias needs to be put aside. My inner Neanderthal pleads for understanding. It is no crime to resist change or to have a big brain but not think much. (today we have TV and talk radio and to be properly enjoyed, both demand blankness of mind.) There’s also nothing wrong with having hair all over your body, although those of us whose hair stopped short of covering our heads think it is a cruel joke that nature has played.

I have lately leant red that when I write, I grunt- some say growl- and everybody in the office knows this, even the people  nest department over partition, and nobody ever said anything about it to unknowing me. Grrrr! Sensitive to all this, I am thinking of getting a bumper sticker: “Hug a Neanderthal Today”.

As one who sits in an editorial department cave and grunts through the medium of the newspaper and Internet, it is my fate to come into contact with my other people of obvious Neanderthal ancestry who could do with a hug.

These correspondents may not like me--judging by their angry, territorial noises, many do not- but appears they recognize a shared kinship to that distant time when we were Neanderthals all, back in our limestone lairs with no government to restrict our freedom. What a wonderful  life it must have been, marred only  the attacks of wild beast and the scolding  primitive liberals.

Of course, my dear mother would not approve of me lining our family tree to that of Neanderthals. She would insist that it was all on my father’s side and want me to make that distinction clear in her honor. Dad, however, would have been amused.

A sense if humor is surely a Neanderthal trait. If you looked like they did, all hairy with brutish features, you would have developed a sense of humor, too, In order to get a date, the nights were dark back then but not so dark as to hide romantics shortcomings.

No, a young Neanderthal had to develop a joke or two if he hoped to attract one of those highfalutin Homo sapien girls always going on about how their family used superior tools and had better cave painting of elk.

Still, the scientist believe a few Neanderthals got lucky, and one can only imagine the tense scene when the girl introduced the social hairy friend to her parents. “So, son, tell me about your career. Is there a prospect of you being transferred to the main cave?” Of course, it could have been the girl who made the first advances. Since time immemorial, certain women have always had a talent for making bad choices in men, and speaking for many men, let me jus say we are very grateful.

This physical attraction isn’t as absurd as it seems, yes, the Neanderthals were not fashion plates, but they were strong and muscular. The males would lift huge boulders and move them from one side of the cave to the other then repeat the process. They didn’t think enough to ever question why they did this, but in their defense it helped fill in the time until couches, beer and sports on TV could be invented.

Interestingly, wives to this day tell their husbands to move furniture from one side of the house to the other and the husbands, following the commands of their archaic DNA, do it without comprehending why.

I worry about my fellow Neanderthals today. Our distant cousins died out because they refused to evolve intellectually. They had big heads but little thoughts. The same old tools were always good enough for them. Likewise the same old attitudes. “Fight or Flight? We fight, ooh, ooh, ooh! Flight is like cut and run.”

The ancient ones kept telling the same one or two jokes, until their mates could not stand it anymore, “If I hear the one about the mammoth who sat on the caveman just once more, you snooze outside with the saber tooths.” Now some of the modern ones say, “Did you hear that Obama thinks there are 57 states, ha ha ha!” Hug a Neanderthal today. Some of us just don’t know when are we grunting ourselves to extinction.

Here is the letter made by Wolfpack; we need your names whoever wants to support it so we could have it printed at Bohol Chronicle...you dont need to post your comments, if you want to make your comments, post it at the Letter To Guindulman Part I.

All you have to do is modify this topic and write your name. Dont be afraid to write your name, lets show to Bohol that we who are not politicians can  also make a CHANGE!

A Letter to the Municipality of Guindulman

We, the concerned Boholanos residing in the Philippines and overseas, strongly condemn the senseless cutting of century-old acacia trees in the historic town of Guindulman, Bohol.  We strongly believe that such acts of the local officials are unforgivable.

The acacia trees are not only part of the life and culture of the people, those trees stood witness of the town’s struggles, trials and triumphs. Those trees also show-cased the cultural heritage of the municipality, therefore, the aesthetic values of those  trees cannot be at par or compromised with any development project Guindulman undertakes.

We believe that persons in authority should be held accountable for their actions. What they did is a total disregard of all environmental efforts in preserving the Mother Nature, not withstanding, the insult they inflicted to the entire generation of Guindulmanons, the Bohol population and the Philippines as a whole. It is a total gross negligence leading us to believe that the incumbent mayor and the members of Sangguniang Bayan apparently abuse their powers and authorities.

The Honorable Ma. Fe Piezas, the incumbent mayor’s defense for her irresponsible acts which is for the safety of the public is a total lie. The Pacific Consultant International  (PCI), consultants of the Bohol Circumferential Road Improvement Project (BCRIP-2) did not recommend the cutting of the trees when the national highway road was built in 2006. It was indeed illogical that the trees became a hazard three years after the Japanese environmental and structural experts deemed the trees safe and part of the scenic sights along the national highways. It is highly unacceptable that the main purpose for cutting the trees is to give a prominent view of the building claimed by the municipal administration as its major accomplishment or pet project. The damages are irreparable.

The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office who issued the special permit  is also equally liable with the local officials. No matter how sick and old those trees were, concerned officials must exhaust every possible means to save them. On this aspect, they failed us.

It is therefore, our moral obligation to see to it that the perpetrators of this ecological massacre in Guindulman will answer for what they did. The pitiful trees cannot cry or beg for mercy, but we the people can seek justice on their behalf. We should always remember that we did not inherit the environment, we borrow this from our children. More than anything else, on this particular situation, we shall see to it that justice will be served.

Moreso, we urge the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to conduct an investigation on this issue, not only in this Guinldulman case, but in all future applications to avoid repetition of committing the same grievous mistakes.

Respectfully,

Share  Comments 9 BUFFALO, N.Y. â€" A 100-year-old pedophile who violated his parole by skipping sex offender classes is back behind bars in upstate New York.

Theodore Sypnier was released to a Buffalo halfway house last fall after serving 18 months in prison for the same type of parole violation. The state Parole Board announced Friday that he had been ordered to serve two more years behind bars.

Authorities say Sypnier sexually molested children as young as 4 years old for decades in Buffalo and later in the Town of Tonawanda. He was released from prison in 2008, after serving time on a 1999 conviction for molesting two young sisters.

His 58-year-old daughter says Sypnier molested her and other neighborhood girls when she was young, and pedophiles never change no matter how old they get.

Love Talk / 8 Dating Mistakes Even Smart Women Make
April 19, 2010, 07:19:01 AM
Dating Mistake #1: Being Too Available
We’re not suggesting you play games, but we are telling you to indulge your passions and resist the urge to abandon your social circle every time your new man sends an invitation. Take Sebastian, 34, from Chicago, for example: “When I was single, there were women I initially liked who seemed to be waiting by the phone for me to call, which let me know if I didn’t meet someone else I wanted to date, I had a standby. There just wasn’t anything to work for, and that turned me off,” he says. The more you engage in and enjoy your life, the more he’ll work to be a part of it.

Dating Mistake #2: Trying to Rehabilitate a Bad Boy
Ending a relationship is rarely easy, and though flying solo might not be your long-term goal, being on your own is better than feeling alone in a relationship with someone who treats you poorly. Even when it might be tempting to give a toxic romance one more try, knowing when to cut your losses and move on leaves you available and baggage-free when the right guy comes along.

Dating Mistake #3: Looking for Perfection
Encouraging you to settle isn’t our style, but separating your desires from your deal-breakers can give your love life a major upgrade. “There are some qualities that your mate must haveâ€"being honest, for exampleâ€"and others, such as movie-star looks, that should be thrown in the would-be-nice category,” says Elizabeth R. Lombardo, Ph.D., author of A Happy You: Your Ultimate Prescription for Happiness. “Sit down and realistically figure out what characteristics are nonnegotiable and then be open-minded about the rest.”

Dating Mistake #4: Feeling Sorry for Yourself
Resist the urge to bemoan your single status (which will only make him wonder why you find yourself such terrible company) and use this time to date yourself. Taking a dance class at the local studio, hitting up the exhibit you have been aching to see and trying out the new wine bar on the corner will not only offer you the chance to have more fun but will also leave you more likely to meet someone who shares your interests. So much better than sitting in your apartment waiting for someone to “wink” at your online profile picture, isn’t it? Another bonus? You’ll have far more interesting things to talk about over dinner than what your boss made you do on your lunch break last Friday.

Dating Mistake #5: Knowing His Thread-Count Before You Know His Phone Number
Getting it on with a sexy stranger is your natural-born right, but according to many guys, it can be the wrong move if you’re looking for long-term love.

Follow the advice of super-sexy leading man Gilles Marini (he was Samantha’s sexy neighbor in Sex and the City: The Movie): “Men love women who respect themselves and who do not rush into bed with them but instead go on a few dates, where they can start to gain an understanding of each other and then decide whether or not to take things further. Women need to know that taking it slow and getting to know one another is the best way to get into a good relationship,” he says.

Dating Mistake #6: Being Too Selfish in Your Relationship
One of the downsides of being independent is that it can lead to some self-absorbed tendenciesâ€"a huge turnoff for men looking for a serious relationship, says Ming Gregory, a professional matchmaker at Color Blind International Dating Service. So make sure you’re giving as much as you’re receiving in your next relationship. “A partnership involves two people who share mutual interests and mutually benefit one another,” she says. “It’s not just about what being with him can provide you; it’s about how you can come together to complement each other.”

Dating Mistake #7: Believing in The One“A lot of women make dating more difficult by placing so much pressure on themselves to find the one-and-only-man-in-a-billion they believe is right for them,” says Ali, 35, from Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Instead of convincing yourself the ex you dumped was your soul mate or that perfect-but-married co-worker was your one that got away, take a cue from our male counterparts and approach the dating scene with the idea that there are plenty of men who are capable of making you laugh, sharing your values and melting your heart, and you’re going to have fun with several of them until you find one worthy of your commitment.

Dating Mistake #8: Forgetting Your Manners
We can’t imagine this is something you’d ever do, but a little reminder never hurts: Say thank you.

“Good manners have become so old-fashioned that men now wait for the thank-you at the end of the date as a way to see if she’s worth seeing again,” says Brian, 30, from New York City. “I don’t care if the woman looks like Kate Beckinsale and has a Ph.D.; if she can’t be bothered to utter those two little words, I am never calling her again.”

Just like your mom didn't need a thermometer to know if you had a fever, we bet your grandmother or other homegrown expert didn’t let the lack of a medical degree stop her from issuing health directives. But which of them are worth following?

1. Grandma's wisdom: Ginger is good for upset stomachs.
Science says: Yes. Good evidence shows ginger reduces nausea.

2. Grandma's wisdom: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Science says: Granny's overstating this fruit's potency. Still, the peel is a good source of quercetin, an important antioxidant that, studies suggest, helps lower blood pressure, fight asthma and allergies, and prevent heart attacks.

3. Grandma's wisdom: Honey speeds healing.
Science says: Yes. Mild to moderate burns (but not other types of wounds) heal faster if you spread honey on them -- maybe because it creates a moist, antibacterial environment that promotes tissue growth.

4. Grandma's wisdom: Put butter on a burn.
Science says: No. There's no evidence of a benefit from butter.

5. Grandma's wisdom: Sleeping in air-conditioning can give you a chill.
Science says: She may be onto something. Air conditioners dry out the protective layer of mucus along nasal passages, which likely allows viruses to infect you more easily. Viruses reproduce faster inside a cold nose too.

6. Grandma's wisdom: If you go out with wet hair, you'll catch a cold.
Science says: Maybe. Some research indicates (but doesn't prove) that a wet head helps cold viruses take hold, by tightening blood vessels in the nose and making it harder for white blood cells to reach the viruses and fight them off.

7. Grandma's wisdom: Swimming after eating can lead to cramps and drowning.
Science says: Not exactly, but not completely wrong either. After you eat, blood gets shunted to your digestive tract and away from exercising muscles. That can lead to a buildup of lactic acid in your muscles, so swimming a few laps too soon after lunch could cause a sudden (though not fatal) cramp.

8. Grandma's wisdom: Chocolate gives you pimples.Science says: Not quite. Chocolate bars might trigger an acne flare-up, but if so, the culprit is probably the sugar, milk, and gooey fillings, not the cocoa.

B.   What are the accomplishments of Julius Herrera while serving as Vice Governor of Bohol between 2001 -2010 (9 years of service)
Legislations and Projects (taken from the Website of juliusherrera.com)
1.   Established a Secretariat for each SP Committee

c.   Rice Seeds Assistance, Distribution of Certified Rice Seeds
4.   Distribution of Barangay Tanod kits
5.   Distribution of BHW kits
6.   Overseas Workers Helpline, Assistance of OFWs, Libreng Tawag sa Middle East Program

Comments:
1.   So, who best served as Vice Governor of Bohol?  Facts don’t lie.  Notice that most of the projects Herrera did in his term were copied from  Chatto’s time, such as:
a.   Distribution of Kits to BALA
b.   Distribution of Kits to the OFWs
c.   OFW Assistance Desk
d.   Training on Barangay Legislation copied from Chatto’s Katarungang Pambarangay Institutional Capacity Program
2.   Chatto had 21 accomplishments in only 6 years as Vice Governor, while Herrera has only 6 while serving for 9 years.
3.   So, who is a better leader for Bohol?
4.   You can not become a “good leader” by simply claiming that you are.  Your track record will speak for you and other people will say it to the public.  Chatto’s track record of accomplishments and Awards even as Vice Governor and now as Congressman will speak for himself that he is a “good leader” able to become the next Governor of Bohol which the people will elect on May 10.
5. DI BA LAIN?

Florida urologist Jack Cassell posted a sign on his office door reading, "If you voted for Obama ... seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your health care begin right now, not in four years."

Cassell, a registered Republican, quickly backpedaled in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, but said he's perfectly happy to lose business over the sign. "I'm not turning anybody away, that would be unethical," he told the Sentinel. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."

Patients who continue past the sign on Cassell's door find a waiting room stacked with Republican pamphlets opposing health care reform, underneath a sign reading, "This is what the morons in Washington have done to your health care. Take one, read it and vote out anyone who voted for it."

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) told the Sentinel he was "disgusted" by Cassell's behavior.

"Maybe he thinks the Hippocratic Oath says, 'Do no good'," Grayson said. "If this is the face of the right wing in America, it's the face of cruelty. ... Why don't they change the name of the Republican Party to the Sore Loser Party?"

Health and Food / Five Weight Loss Myths
March 31, 2010, 09:43:02 AM
By Holly Robinson Peete

Myth #1: Carbs are the Enemy

Maybe we can blame Dr. Atkins and other proponents of the low-carb diet craze for this one. Experts suggest that carbohydrates play a star role in keep you energized and your organs functioning properly. The carb bad rap should rest squarely on the shoulders of "white carbs" like white bread, white rice, and sugar. These refined carbs, dietitians suggest, are more likely to pack on the pounds. Stick with whole grains like whole wheat pasta and brown rice for a healthier diet.

Myth #2: Never Eat After 8PM

The habit of under-eating all day only to overdo it at dinner time is likely where this myth came from. Eating excess calories at any hour of the day will lead to weight gain. Just remember: It's not when you eat, it's what you eat.

Myth #3: It's Not a Workout Unless You Sweat

A cardio workout that gets you huffing and puffing is vital for a healthy ticker, but that's only half the picture. Low-impact workouts, like weight-lifting and yoga, might not leave you drenched in sweat, but they're equally important to keeping your muscles strong and your body burning calories all day long. Work cardio and resistance training into your exercise regimen and you'll be seeing the full picture of health.

Myth #4: Weight-Lifting Bulks You Up

Most women don't have the necessary testosterone levels to transform them into the spitting image of Conan the Barbarian-era Arnold Schwarzenegger. But if you integrate weight-lifting into your workouts and find you're getting a little too cut, switch to lighter weights and more reps.

Myth #5: Muscle Weighs More than Fat

Here's the deal: a pound of muscle and a pound of fat weight exactly the same amount. A pound! The difference between muscle and fat is an issue of density and volume. Muscle is denser than fat and takes up less space in your body which can give you a leaner look overall.

Im not so sure if this works for you  ;)

some people need to get over themselves and just accept the fact that buying their face doesn’t guarantee them a spot under the “beautiful” category. SOME people are born beautiful, they don’t need to try once in their life. don’t forget your roots little lady, they’ll come back for you sooner or later. You know, like a rude awakening?

amen.

love always,

Hairstylists share their tips for understanding their jobs and how to get the most out of your time in the swivel chair.

1. I'm a beautician, not a magician. I can give you Gisele Bündchen's haircut, but I can't give you her face.

2. Come at least five minutes early. If you're running late, please call ahead. Show me some basic respect. This is a business, not fun and games.

3. Don't ask me to "squeeze" you in when I'm already booked. I'd be taking time and effort away from other clients. You wouldn't like being treated that way.

4. Hairdresser school does not teach about counter transference, projection, negative reinforcement, or personality disorders. If you're looking for a  therapist, all I have is a tail comb and an opinion.

5. Some women think that if they keep their hair all one length the way it was in high school, everyone will think they're still in high school. Guess what? You're not. As you get older, you need to soften the lines around your face. Layers are the magic remedy.

6. Bodies and hair change as hormones change. If your hair is dry, listless, or brittle, or if it's not holding your color or style the way it used to, see a doctor. If your hair isn't overprocessed, you could be pregnant (surprise!) or menopausal (yes, I can tell).

7. A trim is not "just" a trim. It requires my expertise, skill, knowledge, and time. Would you say to your dentist, "It's just a tooth," or to your doctor, "It's just a leg"?

8. That single bill you stuff into the shampoo person's hands isn't doing her any favors. A dollar bill doesn't buy anything anymore. You should tip her at least $3â€"more if your hair is long.

9. If you want to buy a bottle of color and do your own hair to save a buck, you can live with the consequences.

10. Some clients will say, "Cut my hair just like you did last time." That always baffles me. The average time between appointments is six to eight weeks. I have hundreds of clients. How am I supposed to remember exactly how  I did your hair the last time? If you want a carbon copy of a cut and style you loved, take a picture and show me.

11. Why do you think a child's haircut should cost less than yours? Kids don't sit still. Kids kick. It's an intense experience.

12. Standing all day and using scissors and a blow-dryer takes its tollâ€"I have arthritis in my fingers, calcium deposits in my wrist, and 10 percent less hearing than I used to. I am a physical wreck.

13. We see women at their worst. Their hair is wet, they have foils on their hair, they have no makeup on. There's nothing for them to hide behind. So they tell us everything. The truth is, I really don't care what they do sexually. I'm only interested in their hair.

Love Talk / Seven Ways to Make People Like You
March 27, 2010, 11:23:49 AM
You can’t actually make someone like you. But you can behave in ways that will make it slightly more likely. After all, we all want to feel that other people like usâ€"that they seek our company and enjoy being with us. Having close relationships is one of the most meaningful elements to happiness. Also, social contact brings a big boost in moodâ€"for extroverts and introverts alike (surprising though this may seem).

To form a friendship, you must like someone. But you must also be likeable. These seven strategies will boost your chances of that happening.

1. Smile. No, this doesn’t come as a shock, but studies do show that the amount of time you smile during a conversation has a direct impact on how friendly you’re perceived to be.

2. Be easily impressed, entertained, and interested. Most people get more pleasure from wowing you with their humor and insight than from being wowed by your humor and insight.

3. Have a friendly, open, engaged demeanor. Lean toward people, nod, say “Uh-huh,” and turn your body to face the other person’s body. Don’t turn your body away, cross your arms, answer in monosyllables, or scan the room (or look at your Blackberry or iPhone! I’ve seen this happen!) as the other person talks.

4. Remember trait transfer. In trait transfer, whatever you say about other people influences how people see you. If you describe a coworker as brilliant and charismatic, your acquaintance will tend to associate you with those qualities. Conversely, if you describe a coworker as arrogant and obnoxious, those traits will stick to you. So watch what you say.

5. Laugh at yourself.  Showing vulnerability and a sense of humor make you more likable and approachable. However, don’t push this self-deprecation too farâ€"keep it light. You’ll make others uncomfortable if you run yourself down too much.

6. Radiate energy and good humor. Because of the phenomenon of “emotional contagion,” people catch the emotions of other people, and they prefer to catch an upbeat, energetic mood. Even if you pride yourself on your cynicism, biting humor, or general edginess, these qualities can be conveyed with warmth.

7. Show your liking for another person. We’re much more apt to like someone if we think that person likes us. Look for ways to signal that you enjoy a person’s company.

It’s particularly worth your effort to be your friendliest when you meet someone for the first time. Studies show that within ten minutes of meeting a new person, we decide how close a relationship we’ll have with that new acquaintance, and that in evaluating people, we weigh early information much more heavily than information acquired later.

One of the joys of the Internet is that it makes it so much easier to stay in contact with people who otherwise might have drifted out of sight. Through email and her great blog, The Flame Tree, I keep tabs on an old friend who is now living an adventurous life on the other side of the world.

Jokes and Humor / Bill Gates And General Motors
March 27, 2010, 10:46:05 AM
For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,

'If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon..'

In  response to Bill ' s comments, General Motors issued a press  release stating:

If  GM had developed technology likeMicrosoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash.........Twice a day.

2.. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3... Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single 'This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation' warning light.

I love the next one!!!

7. The airbag system would ask 'Are you sure?' before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the  'Start' button to turn the engine off.

PS - I 'd like to add that when all else fails, you could call ' customer service ' in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself!!!!

Health and Food / Cinnamon and Honey
March 26, 2010, 02:24:30 PM
Cinnamon and Honey…  Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing".   When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.

Cinnamon and Honey…
Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around.  Facts on Honey and Cinnamon:  It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases.  Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.

Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients.   Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada , in its issue dated 17 January 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES…

Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack.  Also, those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat.  In America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

ARTHRITIS…
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS…

Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

CHOLESTEROL…
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS…
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.

UPSET STOMACH…Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.

GAS…According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM…
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION…
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

INFLUENZA…A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ' Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY…
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increase and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

PIMPLES…  Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS…
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.

WEIGHT LOSS…
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER…  Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.

FATIGUE…
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible.. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.

BAD BREATH…  People of South America , first thing in the morning, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

HEARING LOSS…  Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

Health and Food / Cancer Update From John Hopkins
March 23, 2010, 11:09:10 AM
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3  When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply..

Madonna - The power of goodbye official video clip

Your heart is not open so I must go
The spell has be broken…I loved you so
Freedom comes when you learn to let go
Creation comes when you learn to say no
You were my lesson I had to learn
I was your fortress you had to burn
Pain is a warning that something’s wrong
I pray to God that it won’t be long
There’s nothing left to try
There’s no place left to hide
There’s no greater power
Than the power of goodbye
Your heart is not open so I must go
The spell has be broken…I loved you so
You were my lesson I had to learn
I was your fortress
There’s nothing left to try
There’s no place left to hide
There’s no greater power
Than the power of goodbye
There’s nothing left to lose
There’s no more heart to bruise
There’s no greater power
Than the power of goodbye
Learn to say goodbye
I yearn to say goodbye.

I want you to show me...

Mariah Carey - I Want to Know What Love Is ( Live Today Show 10/02/2009 )

I gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm older

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
I can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is
And I know, I know you can show me

Let's talk about love
I wanna know what love is, the love that you feel inside
I want you to show me, and I'm feeling so much love
I wanna feel what love is, no, you just cannot hide
I know you can show me, yeah

I wrote your name in air, it was blown away. Then
I wrote your name on my heart & I got Heart Attack..

HUSBAND:
God saw me hungry, he created pizza.
He saw me thirsty, he created Pepsi.
He saw me in dark, he created light.
He saw me without problems, he created YOU.

WIFE:
Twinkle twinkle little star
You should know what you are
And once you know what you are
Mental hospital is not so far.

HUSBAND:
The rain makes all things beautiful.
The grass and flowers too.
If rain makes all things beautiful
Why doesn't it rain on you?

WIFE:
Roses are red; Violets are blue
Monkeys like u should be kept in zoo.
Don't feel so angry you will find me there too
Not in cage but laughing at you.

Health and Food / All About Cucumbers
March 06, 2010, 09:02:07 AM
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin  B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium  and Zinc.

2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick  up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates  that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a  cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a  soothing, spa-like fragrance.

4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a  small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the  area.

5 Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or  to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing  the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

6.. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish  essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!

7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that  not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and  rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!

10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the  spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the  chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students  during final exams.

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your  tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine,  but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while  you clean.

13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and  slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

Love Talk / 5 Signs You're Headed Toward a Breakup
March 05, 2010, 02:12:15 PM
By: dating coach David Wygant

1. You stop relationship-building behaviors. In the honeymoon stage of a relationship, which we all know is the first 90 days of pure bliss, you are learning about each other and making efforts to create romantic moods and nice evenings. When you're in that stage, you are really working at building your relationship. Then, at some point, you start to butt heads with each other. Critical relationship elements deteriorate. Maybe you stop kissing each other goodbye or stop texting each other during the day. Instead of adding things to the relationship, you start to resent each other like two five-year-olds who stop sharing their crayons. This is a breakup point.

2. You don't understand each other anymore. The fighting escalates to a place where you no longer feel like you're understood by your partner. Physical intimacy stops, communication stops, and you are living like roommates. You're at the point in the relationship where you are trying to understand each other, but you get so frustrated because you feel like you just don't understand each other anymore. This is a breakup point.

3. You start punishing each other. When you get to the point of no longer understanding each other, what happens is that you end up just kind of coexisting in the new dynamic. Resentment builds and you get in your head too much. You are no longer about feelings, and you start punishing each other. "Well, he hasn't done this for me, so I'm not going to do this for him" are the kind of thoughts that take root. The longer you stay in that dynamic and the further away you get from the dynamic you had during the early part of the relationship, the less likely it is that you'll ever get it back (and, after a point, you won't). You have hit the breakup point.

4. You fight less. When you get to the breakup point, you actually fight less with your partner. You fight less because in your mind and heart you start detaching yourself from the other person, and you don't care as much anymore. You have already made a determination that they don't understand you, that they will never understand you, and that the relationship just won't work out. The minute you get into a fight, you just walk away from it. That is a sure sign that you are at the breakup point.

5. You've taken the time to think it through.  When you think you might have hit that breakup point, you must tell the person that you're disconnecting from them. You need to be honest and raw. If you don't think the relationship is going to work, or you know you've already disconnected based on how things have been going, then you might want to consider walking away for a week. When you're in the thick of things, they never seem to be able to work out.

So take a break. Spend a week without your partner. Take the week to ask yourself some questions. Go visit some friends or family. Really think about what life would be like without that person. How would you feel? Then, go back and either take a stand for the relationship or break up.

Whichever decision you make, you need to be honest with yourself. Life is too short! There are a lot of wonderful, amazing people out there ready to meet you.

Love Talk / 10 Signs Your Guy is Smitten
March 05, 2010, 02:04:22 PM
source: Yourtango.com

1. He talks you up to all his friends. If you're meeting his friends for the first time and they already know your entire life history -- not to mention your favorite movie, ice cream flavor, and guilty pleasure song -- chances are he's hooked on you, and has probably been suffering major harassment at the hands of his buddies in the name of love. (Yeah, he's totally whipped.)

2. He enjoys doing the most mundane activities with you. Laundry. Running errands. Napping. Shoe shopping. Congratulations, you're the most boring couple ever. (Kidding!) But when he acts like the most routine, everyday activities are confetti-filled barrels of fun -- because you're doing them together -- there's definitely something there.

3. He'd rather talk to you than watch the latest episode of "24"... at least for now. If he shuts down his BlackBerry, Xbox, or most recently scheduled World of Warcraft raid so that he can give you his undivided attention, don't doubt his devotion. Most women would kill to command that sort of attention at later points in their relationships.

4. He's not afraid to say, "I love you." In fact, he willingly says it in front of both friends and family, and doesn't balk at PDAs either.

5. He misses you. Always. He texts and/or emails regularly to say that he was "thinking about you" or "just wanted to say hi." Even a "hey, what's up?" speaks to the depths of the pain he feels when you're not around. And if he can't let a day go by without a phone chat? You're gonna have a tough time getting rid of this one.

6. He takes it for granted that you have a future together. He says "we" instead of "I" and talks about your future together as if it's a given. "When you meet my sister you'll see what I mean" or "My birthday was boring this year. We'll have to do something fun next year." He may not have mentioned marriage, but he's definitely thinking long-term.

7. He goes the extra mile.  He surprises you with candy buttons because he knows they're your fave. He puts gas in your car or unloads the dishwasher, completely unsolicited. They're not grand gestures, but he's making an obvious attempt to do something special for you. Men and women speak different languages when it comes to romance, but when he does something nice for you without being asked, he's trying. And that speaks volumes.

8. He can't get over how beautiful you are.  If you keep catching him sneaking peeks at you from across the room, he's totally a goner.

9. He picks you over the boys.  His friends are hitting up the local nightclub? Well... he'd rather spend the night in with you and your latest Netflix picks. They're going to see his favorite basketball team? Well... hmm... lemme think about... what!? Of course I'd rather spend time with you, honey. Yes, he's smitten.

10. He's willing to be a total mush. As evidenced by the mixed CD he made for your "month-aversary," complete with cutesy album title and hand-drawn cover art, and accompanied by a carefully chosen card containing five long paragraphs on why he's grateful you're a part of his life.

Jokes and Humor / Do You Need Boots or A Hat?
February 12, 2010, 04:37:30 AM
An elderly couple, Margaret and Bert, moved to Texas.

Bert always wanted a pair of authentic cowboy boots, so, seeing some on sale, he bought them and wore them home.

Walking proudly, he sauntered into the kitchen and said to his wife,
'Notice anything different about me?'

Margaret looked him over. 'Nope.'

Frustrated, Bert stormed off into the bathroom, undressed and walked back into the kitchen completely naked except for the boots.

Again he asked Margaret, a little louder this time, 'Notice anything different NOW?'

Margaret looked up and exclaimed, 'Bert, what's different?
It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, it'll be hanging
down again tomorrow!'

Furious, Bert yelled, 'AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT'S HANGING DOWN,
MARGARET?'

'Nope', she replied.

'IT'S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!!!!'
Without changing her expression, Margaret replied,  'Shoulda bought a hat, Bert. Shoulda bought a hat.'

General Topic / Public Restrooms: Paper Towel or Drier?
November 04, 2009, 12:32:55 AM
Everyone in the cleaning industry has always been told that hand dryers in restrooms are not sanitary, they spread germs and bacteria around.  I always thought that this just came from the paper companies because they are loosing sales to the hand dryers.  A couple of years ago, I was working with a rep, and I noticed that after he washed his hands and noticed that there were no paper towels, only a hand dryer he left the restroom with wet hands.  I asked him about it.  He said that hand dryers blow a lot of germs and bacteria around.  He also told me to take a look under the hand dryer next time I was in a restroom.  There is a filter underneath the hand dryer that is supposed to be cleaned on a weekly basis.  I looked at one and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.  It had layers and layers of caked on gunk (disgusting).  Since then I will not use hand dryers in restrooms.  Now this is where the story gets really interesting.  The schools and universities that have had the H1N1 (swine flue) outbreak this year are being told by the health department that they have to take out all of their hand dryers and replace them with towel dispensers because the hand dryers are spreading disease.  Please pass this along so everyone knows not to use hand dryers.

Songbird sings from the heart
Each word can tear you apart
I sing, you sing along
You find your life in my song

When you need the strength to carry on
You've got me to turn to

With the songs that I sing and the magic they bring
They've helped you be strong now
The song sets you free but who sings to me?
I'm all alone now, who sings for songbird?

Sometimes when I'm all alone
I sing my saddest song
Lonely, and no one can see
This time the song is for me

I can touch your secret place inside
And still you don't know me

With the songs that I sing and the magic they bring
You've learned to be strong now
The song sets you free but who sings to me?
I'm all alone now, where is my songbird?
Where is my songbird, who sings his songs for me?
