Many Tess,

Mike, Sorry, just couldnt help answering Grazies input. I've been away so I could only read it now.

Grazie wrote:

Did it become a big deal only when you said something, Spiderman?  Believe me, it wasn't you, Spiderman.  But you are cute. hehehe

My reply:

Thank you Grazie. You are cute as well.:-) You know me, right? I've been here a long time and I'm often in the admins side in helping you "fight" for those who violated the rules. Yes, You know that. But in the case of renegade, common sense tells us not to reprimand someone in his midst of erupting a volcano of anger. What we could do at that time was to show our sympathy to him not reprimand him for using all caps.

So. what I did was agreed to what glacier wrote. When I see something wrong. I just couldnt shut up. and in TB we have freedom of speech as long as we dont abuse it.
Did I abuse the TB rules by agreeing Glacier and asking the said admin if maybe next time they can send a PM instead?

Nope.

Yes, it has become a big deal when Spiderman speaks because the admin thought she know me. And so kiamoy starts tracking spiderman as if he is a criminal. How ridiculous!
So what if Spderman is a fairy or a bird? So what if Spiderman is using another username?
What more, your co admin have to padlock the said topic stopping other members to post their inputs too. Do you think that's right?

So an admin can padlock a topic as she pleases? because she doesnt like the person who post there?

And not only once but twice.

I know it was not you who padlock the topic so I am not disappointed at you. But I have to express my opinion here.

Yes, no one is perfect but justice must be served.

Cheers!

Yes, you are correct. "The atmosphere there was so calm already "(your own words)
so why padlock the thread?
There was once a "heated" argument between ayessa and admin Lorenzo, but did admin lorenzo lock the thread? Nope!
So again, my question is: why?
I couldnt help asking because I find it unethical if you are talking/discussing in a room and you said something and before I could say my answer to you, you left and closed the door behind me.

dear kiamoy, the only people who know who I am in this forum are the admins and unless the admins break their professional secrecy and tell you, you have no idea who I am.

you see, there are no rules in this forum who obliged a member to reveal his/her real identity in the forum. As long as this member is behaving, he/she have the right to keep his/her privacy.

The admins are only obliged to expose the members real identity if the said member have committed a huge crime in this forum.

"wa nako kasabot. at first "unta gi PM" nya karon napud "punish" dayun... maybe kay nabasahan naman ang previous posts?

and speaking of sensitivity, i am hoping nobody will thread their goodbyes all over again. come on.  what's the purpose of informing if the replies won't be read by the starter anyway.. so as claimed."

Comments:
Kiamoy, FYI, I did not read the previous postings of Renegade. I trusted the admins words when she said that he had already violated the rules many times. That is why I wrote: whats the point of having rules if it has no power to punish the violators??

For all you know, I am NOT against the rules that admins will remind the members about the rules in the public. I have seen that many times in the past , that the admins reminded members about the rules in public and I didn not say a word.
Not only reminded but also modified others postings.

I only commented this time and agreed with glacier asking because (PLs take note) this time was not the appropriate moment  to remind him for that since he was already boiling in anger.
Pls. try to understand my point here because I hate repeating my words. Ok?

Yes, members can be reminded in public if admins want it, but must  be prepared to take the consequences.

I already explained why.

Admin Gingah, I am  bewildered why you have to padlock a thread (ICM Raffle Hysteria) nga wala man untay nagsinumbagay didto. It was just a discussion of what should have been done. Or the appropriate approach.

In your PM you told me that someone already told Renegade to stop using all caps before.

My point here ( And I will not move an inch for this) is that I only wished and hoped it was sent via PM since he was already very angry at that moment.

Why make a big deal out of it? Take note I was only agreeing to what other members are asking for.`
Please, I am not questioning your authority in this forum being the CEO, I am merely asking.

So why padlock the thread? why not allow other members to have their say about this matter too?

Kiamoy, pls reread my post. I said: If Renegade have indeed violated the TB rules many times why is he still allowed to post?

So if you have rules and you want others to abide that said rules and if the person still doesnt listen are you not doing anything to stop it?
That was a question, not a demand.

And yes, what do you mean people threading their goodbyes all over again?
I was here long before you were  a member and I have witnessed many sad and happy moments of TB where other members said goodbyes for reasons they only know.

LGU Philippines / Re: Why I'm Against Death Penalty?
January 11, 2009, 11:42:04 PM
Gener,

I say, bravo!!

I could have said the same arguments against death penalty.
How many INNOCENT people were sent to the chamber of death because they dont have the connections? because they dont have the money and power to prove their innocence?

How many rich and influential people who  really DID commit murder but escaped the law because of who they are?

The Philippines have laws but they have no TEETH against influential people. It is a very SAD fact.

It is very ironic how politicians openly resort to vote buying when it is very clear in the law that it is not legal to buy votes.

And to think that they are the ones who are suppose to show good examples in following the law.

Quote from: Gener on January 11, 2009, 06:36:39 PM
Why I’m against Death Penalty?

In a tense situation where both sides are hurling invectives and accusations against each other, the Philippines is now again entering into another saga of Filipinos favorite past time; the “blaming game.” As the situation flares up, here comes the resurgence of another debatable issue; re-imposition of death penalty. And what makes this game more exciting are the “riders” that goes with the issue. There you can expect opportunist politicians aiming for the 2010 elections joining the fracas, not to solve the problem but to get media exposure. A sure way of getting the people remember them come election time but no thanks to the “TRAPOS” (traditional politicians), we don’t intend to make our headache into tumor.

I’m in full support of the government’s campaign against prohibited drugs, its use, manufacture and distribution but I strongly opposed to the restoration of death penalty that was repealed by the 13th Congress. While it may looks like a strong deterrent to crimes including heinous ones, but this can worsen the case of bribery not only in its implementing agencies but also in the judiciary. Those arrested suspects who have the power and influence may resort “more” to bribery since the penalty if found guilty is graver while those who doesn’t have the right “connection” will definitely be in the losing end. History will tell that even during its imposition in the past, no known personalities and “big fish” got the taste of what is like to be put in the lethal injection chamber but poor people and those victims of unfair trial oftentimes are the ones meted out with the death penalty.

No rule can be more effective unless it is implemented to its fullest without fear and favor. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel to know its purpose. Just implement the existing law, that’s all we need to do.

Dear Grazie,
Yes, I know you like me and I like you as well. I am one admirer of your postings and I can sometimes see myself in you. ;D A fighter!

To answer your ?. I did not PM my comments , please it was NOT a reminder to TB admins,  I was simply agreeing with Glaciers suggestion and more of asking ( I wrote: Pls.) that maybe next time it is best they will send it first via PM.
I am simply a member too who expressed my thoughts at that moment.

I'm not an admin, remember? So I did not know if Renegade have committed many violations about the rules in the past. And if he really did, I still find it NOt the right timing to reprimand him (not using all caps) at that time of his emotional anger.

So cheers!
PS. I wonder why it  has become such a BIG deal when I simply ask if it is ok to send a first warning via PM? Did I hit the nuclear button here ?? ;)

Quote from: grazie7y on January 11, 2009, 04:15:55 PM
Did you also consider using PM in reminding us Admins that we should PM members in reminding them of their violations to forum rules, Spiderman? Well, I guess not ha?  So then, your suggestion only applies if the Admin is politely reminding members and not the members to the Admins.  But it's okay because first I like you as you are most of the time level-headed and secondly and most importantly, we are open to suggestions and opinions.  Now, if you had your letters in all caps, maybe we'll have to politely ask you not to do such thing for reasons explained in the separate thread started by Mike but you did not so you are good!   :)

Now, with due respect to you, Spiderman, I totally agree with what Mike said about this issue.

To be honest, I have other issues with renegade's posts and that were the graphic use of violent and derogatory words.  But I've said my piece already in my earlier post so I will leave it at that.

To renegade, you may just had a bad day that day and your emotional outbursts would  not affect my respect to you as a member of TB.

So peace to all and happy new year!

Talk of the Town / Re: ICM Raffle Draw Hysteria
January 11, 2009, 06:12:09 PM
I did not say that it is rude or offensive, derogatory or rather  insulting to tell a TB member not to use all caps in his/her posting.

The point here is that: a person was already extremely angry re: the ICM raffle hysteria and I just find it not the right timing for an admin to correct him at that time in public. There are always exceptions in a rule di ba?

(aw sakto ba ni?) but you got what I mean.

So at that moment I really feel that it was more fitting for that said admin to send a PM to renegade.
and I was simply agreeing to what glacier suggested.

And since many members still dont know about NETiquette (That using all caps means shouting , althought at that moment  he was literally shouting out his anger;-)) I still find it more fitting to "reprimand" or "remind" the TB members who are NOT aware of the TB rules to send them first a PM and if he/she doesnt listen thats the time to make it public.

That is if  we dont want the other "sensitive" TB members to feel offended.
This is just my opinion. BUT yours is the Law and decision since you own TB.

Cheers!

Quote from: Michael Ligalig on January 11, 2009, 10:10:15 AM
After reviewing the discussion here, I found that there absolutely was nothing offensive, rude or derogatory or insulting when a site admin or anyone posts an open reminder regarding our simple and easy guidelines.

Posting a TubagBohol reminder in public, so long as it is not a personal attack, is encouraged so that those who are not yet aware of a particular guideline would learn from it.

I don't think we should go this far in the discussion when the friendly shortcut of it was just to say "Sorry, I did not know it. Cheers" or "Thanks for the reminder; I was not aware about it. Cheers".

As much as I like the admins in this forum I must agree with Glacier nga unta ang corrections sa admins isend sa PM kay looy baya hunahunaon si Renegade nga nagpahungaw sa iyang kasuko unya buyagon pagyod siya in public nga di pagamiton sa All caps.
ikaw kunoy nahighblood na unya buyagon paka nga sayop imo pagkasulat.

Ate Bambs, Bulak, I understand what you both say, but "in sickness or in health" is just a part of the marriage vows.  I do not support that a wife unconditionally tolerate an erring husband who has no love for her.  What the vows are, for me, is a mutual promise of the husband and of the wife to love each other, to be faithful to each other, to support each other through whatever trial may come.  If I expect my wife to be there for me when I am on the sickbed then I must be ready to do the same for her when she needs me.  Husband and wife should help each other through hard times.  This is what I believe in.

Well said. Kay it should be mutual not one sided.

Bay Lorenzo and Ms. Asianfairy,

With due respect, I understand nga di mo kasulti sa tanang baho kay taga Valencia man mo kagikan.

I agree nga the people are also partly to blame but the biggest sinner is those powerful men and women who drag these poor citizens to connive with them.

My 2 cents opinion:

Seems to me this wowbohol is more concern about precious masscom degree than sympathizing with the boholana who just lost her husband.

How insensitive. I wonder if he is a speaker for the mayor or by the truck driver.?

That the public officials in tagbilaran didnt even care to send their condolences and visit the bereaved family is a big scandal.

To me it doesnt matter if Precious is not so well verse in the language she is writing..important thing to me is that she shows compassion and she is after in telling us what the  other media people failed to do. (kay nahadlok)

Remember the sex scandal in one of the school there? Precious was also there to help and console the poor victims where our public officials failed to do.

Kon naa pakoy daghang kwarta magpahimo ko ug TB newspaper (as one member here suggested before) unya usa sa akong i employ ana nga  magsusulat kanang parehas ni precious nga way kukahadlok mosulti sa tinood.

I can understand your feelings, Spider. Corruption, indeed, is a problem in the Philippines. It is a problem in my very own hometown of Valencia. But I am not so displeased with Valencia. As you know our town is one of the richest in Bohol, and for the most part, the town is progressing.

I know Mayor Lim, almost family actually. She's not a bad person, and the administrators and SB members are hard workers in Valencia. My own Tito is the Municipal Civil Registrar, and they are honest, simple people.

Valencia is a shining star in Bohol. One of the well-endowed communities, if everything was so bad as what these posters claim, then why are there progress in expanding the public schools, development of Bajang Springs, expanding the health clinics, etc. The town remains one of the wealthiest municipalities in the entire province, if it was so bad, then poverty would be wide-spread in Valencia. The fact is, it is not. Change must come from the new generation that wish to enact them. And I am very sure the younger generation will do the right thing for our precious Valencia.

And I say this as a Son of Valencia. :)

Kaning improvement imo giingon mga facade ra na bay para mosikat ilang name kay tan-awa nang mga building diha imbis valencia ibutang nahimong Lim. unya wala ra kana sa kumigking sa ilang mga nakikik ug nailad because they are in power.

have you heard of the biggest Medicare scandal in Bohol? or perhaps whole Philippines?

or magmayor?

Well, dili man na sila unique kay halos tanang opisyales nato ron mga ingon ana man.pero kana sila gayod ay pinakabest actor or actress kon sa pelikula pa.

I didnt know you are related to Concepcion Lim. Sorry.

he valencianons have spoken. read below:

valencianhongihapon :

Reply :You want to go to Badiang Springs and enjoy the cool fresh waters? Gone are the times when the cool fresh water of Badiang is free for all people to enjoy. And never mind going to the sea. Less than a kilometer away, all the wastes from the piggery owned by the Honorable SB Kagawad Patricio "pati" Balistoy are dumped to the open seas. That's tourism for our town Valencia.

valencianhongihapon (3 months ago) :

They are talking of Poverty Alleviation program. THe video clearly shows none, because since the time of Mayor Concepcion L. Tan until the present, Poverty Alleviation program is only found in the papers and in their dreams. Because the Lims believe that if valenciahons will be living out from poverty, nobody will accept their money comes election time. Thus, valencianhons should be poverish form them to feel the LIMS money during election time as mannah from the heavens.

valencianhongihapon (3 months ago)
The video shows new infrastructure projects, which uses cement and steels as primary materials. Ever wondered why? Because these materials are supplied from the Lims businesses. Bidding? Yes, there are. But the winning bidder "MUST" procure their supplies from the LIMS businesses.Worst is that the Lims will just "buy" a blank Official Receipt from the winning bidder, and the deal is done.
valencianhongihapon (3 months ago)

    Reply Agree ko nimo,yuliesees!
A 6-in diameter G.I pipeline traverses 4 km from badiang spring all the way to canmanico with the primary purpose to bring cool freash water to the "Mansion" of the Lims. But the entire town has no sufficient supply of potable water. Imagine folks from Nailo, (around 4 kilometers from the Poblacion) has to "look" for potable water in the poblacion?

For more than a decade Valencia and Valencianhons bleed due to the dragonian power of Conching Lim and its tentacles. Socio-economic and political progress will only come to Valencia under a free enterprise system not on threat of harassment and suppression.

Will a true blooded Valencianhon rise up and rescue Valencia from its socio-economic and political stagnation?

I couldn't help but think that the Clinton administrations as the former Pres.Bill and an experienced Senator Hiliary, they have the chance to bring back the good America. Obama will be a big plus as VP. So I think between the 3 of them, they should make a good team in the White house.

I agree with B:-) on this issue.

It would be great to see Hilary Clinton as the next President of the U S A.

It is a VERY SAD thing that people entering politics are not there to serve the people but to serve their own vested interest.

Hugaw na kaayo ang politika sa atoa. Gihimo na nilang business ang politika. Kinsa kadtong daghan ug puhunan maoy modaog.

I feel so sad that noone cares or bothers to bring justice to that rape students in Bohol High.
And I feel angry that our authorities even tried to hide the truth about what happened to the japanese tourists.

Dear Friends and Comrades of Tubag Bohol,

In behalf of Hajjii (a.k.a. Ghost, Wolf, Lycan), I'd like to apologize for what had happened in the Balut poem written by Sigbin II. I have asked Sigbin's permission that I will delete the entire Balut thread and comments.

I have read and reviewed all the posts and comments and I felt that Hajji's comments were inappropriate and uncalled for. I have consulted this issue with the International Moderators and the feeling is the same.

Personally I am grateful for Hajji's contributions to our website, however, this does not mean that we will be tolerating hurting and offensive comments personally directed to any of our compatriots in Bohol.

Accompanying my public apology is an announcement that Hajji is now banned in Tubag Bohol. His account remains. However, he could no longer post or reply to any topics. The ban is good for 120 days starting today. The duration of the ban may be extended until he issues a public apology to Asianfairy.

Hajji's ban is partial. The previous ban that I implemented was lifetime and it was a total ban in which I removed the account of one of our members. We all know the reasons and the events behind that ban.

I am posting this message in public so that all may know that Tubag Bohol is not just a website where people can write whatever they want, but a website, a real community that considers everyone as an integral part of one big happy family, a loving and caring family where respect, responsibility, honor, dignity, and decency abound.

This disciplinary action, like a father or a mother imposing it on her son or daughter, must be construed as a corrective measure so all may enjoy a peaceful and harmonious relationships in Tubag Bohol.

With sadness in my heart and mind,
Mike Ligalig

Well done, Mr Administrator. You did the right thing so "your children" will now behave accordingly:-).

Sometimes, we need to be reminded of the rules in the house.

More power!

Let's now move on...

in this light
i can see you.
i can tell when a smile is on your face.
i know where you hide your hands,
see every ray of moonlight in your eyes,
and where your hair,
down to the last strand,
falls on your dress.
and if the moon decides
to hide
behind clouds tonight,
the night would not be dark.
you are here to take her place,
and i, like the sea,
drift to where you will me.

Hi Sigbin...

Nice poetry. I wish I could write as romantic as you. ;)

Is this dedicated to someone in Tubag Bohol? ;)
Just curious.

Besides..the writers reasoning that Filipinos marry ONLY for dollars only shows how little she/he knows about the Philippines and its people.
