This sets the example for other GOCCs to follow, especially at this time when we need all the financial support we can muster to continue funding our pandemic response and COVID-19 vaccination program.”

This is the message of commendation proudly conveyed by Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), under the hands-on management of General Manager Jay Santiago,.

Secretary Dominguez recognized the PPA —one of the attached agencies of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), under the leadership of Secretary Arthur Tugade—for taking the lead amongst other government owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs), in providing utmost support to the national government’s COVID-19 response.

In spite of the challenges brought about by the global pandemic, the PPA was able to remit P3.541 billion in dividends to the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) for the year 2020.
