MAYOR WELCOMES SPANISH ENVOY, BOOSTING BILATERAL RELATIONS

Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella welcomes to Cebu City Hall, Amaya Fuentes Mylani, deputy head of mission, and Col. Ricardo Pardo, defense attaché as they discuss the goodwill port of call of the Spanish Navy Ship Juan Sebastian Elacano as part of the celebration to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Philippine part in the first circumnavigation of the world.

Among those discussed were the many similarities Cebuano and Spanish cultures share with one another.

"We are very honored to be welcomed with our esteemed authorities to commemorate this historic day and uphold bilateral relations between our countries" Amaya Fuentes Mylani, said.

"Both Amaya Fuentes Mylani and Col. Ricardo Pardo represent the team commandeering the ship, Juan Sebastian Del Cano. Their visit upholds Cebu's part in the world's first circumnavigation story." Atty. Joy Pesquera, Head of the City Tourism Commission said.

Apart from Mayor Labella and Atty. Pesquera, Lawyers Floro Casas Jr., the city administrator, Rey Gealon, the chief of City Legal Office and Mary Rose Lubino, chief-of-staff joined in welcoming the guests.
