I’ve been absent for awhile from this forums, needed to go to a far away land for a short vacation …anyway I’m back, and from the airlanes found out how v-gov herrera’s family had zipped out money from poor unsuspecting job seekers for abroad in a recruitment scam perpetrated by his son Marcus Julius Herrera (
[email protected]) thru a company known as 3 J’s Global Recruitment Agency Incorporated. The J’s are supposed to stand for “Juliusesâ€, a favorite name for the family.
The son had given the victims his address as: #56 Hernandez St., Pasay City, while their agency holds office at Rm 201, Lee Business Corner, on Juan Luna cor. Juan dela Cruz Sts., Davao City.
I don’t know and still am verifying reports that among the more than 200 hundred recruits nationwide there were at least 35 Boholanos. It is said that the agency is a family business, w/ the v-gov and his wife Linda, a labor attache based in the US, actively engaging in the scam.
Some of the complainants even testified in their affidavits that the V-Gov’s OFW desk inside his office at the capitol was used to handle the concerns of these wannabe overseas workers. They had in fact implicated a female government employee in the v-gov’s office by the name of “Sharonâ€, who handled their papers.
Sketchy reports have said that herrera’s wife met with some of the complainants at Garden Café for s ettlement that would silence them, they will reportedly meet again at the POEA in Cebu sometime this, or next week.
After these recruited workers had complained, they were told that the failure to provide the promised jobs abroad was due to the global recession which had greatly affected the US. This was after they had paid ($450.00) four hundred and fifty dollars each excluding expenses for a medical check-up, fare & allowance while they stayed in Cebu.
When they complained with the POEA, they found out that the agency’s license had already expired and thus had been delisted from the POEA.
Some of the victims they say have been employed by Herrera as casual workers of the province, to silence them. Most are suffering in silence in the hope of recovering their placement fees. Some victims however, those who had borrowed from 5-6 sources or had pawned and sold lands and other assets, want their money back and filed formal complaints.
Some of the victims who were identified in their compliants are Maricel Cajelo, Nestora Rebusa, Carlos Gardosi, Maria Liezel Ingles and Maria Susan Yap all applying as caregivers; garbage collector applicants Roberto Cister & Pableo Dabalos; and construction workers Joseph Palingcod and Carlito Hibaya.
Now, this is something we hope, some of those in this forum could verify… specially those in the Herrera camp for them to explain..
