Mall Sa Katawhan is one of the good ideas BUT it is not for free.  It is for a reduced price very affordable to the masses.  The thing is, we need to generate income to sustain the delivery of the services.  If it always a dole out, then we are just teaching people to be lazy and complacent.

What I have in mind, is encourage Bohol farmers to engage in agricultural products with the support of few privelege men, all products have to be sold sa Mall sa Katawhan,  the masses where the members came from shall lead in patronizing the produce.  Definitely the whole if not majority of the consumers would be our market on the ground that these are cheaper than those established monopolizers...

Di ba nindot,  I forgot the model of this concept.. but if having a qualified leadership to implement this, then this will succeed.

Yeah, you're right, Junayag. No to dole out. We will just limit the freebies to certain items.
The Mall sa Katawhan will be something that removes the middleman to be able to sell the items cheaper.  Direct from production to retail kunohay.

i guess because my family also comes from Bohol that we must be distant relatives.  but my grandfather is an illegitimate child and you know that in the old times, the woman can register the name of the father of her child even if there is no marriage to support that.

Hey guys, I think we have forgotten that there is a voting going on in this forum.  I am reminding you because yesterday, two people asked me whom to vote for Governor.  I told them, why are people asking this early?  I know for a fact the Vice Gov Herrera is preparing well for it because it is understandable for him to lay his eyes on the seat. However, I heard a lot of vocal opinions that Cong. Chatto would be the most winnable form on 2010.  I agree.  But what do others think of this?  There is Cong. Cajes on his last term too.

Herrera and Chatto may clash on the gubernatorial combat, but Herrera can also opt for the first district congressional seat.

Other possible replacement of Chatto after his term ends?

Wa koy giganahan bisan usa sa listahan sa kandidato sa pagka governor.

Gusto ko kanang dili traditional politicians. Kanang fresh pa unya naay strong motivation to make many changes in our todays rotten govt style. Ug unta dili na kwarta ang basehan..kondi kon unsa ang ilang plataporma sa pang gobyerno.

Kanang tininood iyaha pagserbisyo para sa katawhan. I would wish one OFW to be our next governor of Bohol. How about Macky Ferniz , Jun Ayag or Mr.  Benelenne of Japan?

We have been wishing to have a non=TraPo to win the election and it's never been easy but it could have been nice. It may sound a cliche but I too wish for a big change sa atong political system.   Spiderman, during election chada man kaayo ilang platform ba but once ma elected na, murag ila naman makalimtan ilang panaad.  So I agree with you naa unta naay mangisog na non-TraPo na modagan unya ato unta pod katawhan dili ma haylo sa grease money.  Ang atong mga voters murag wala pa man ning sink in ang consequences if they vote according to the money they receive from the candidates...

Mr. Spiderman,

Thank you for counting me among the "probables" short list of candidates for gubenatorial position (from the non-traditional / political dynasty clan ).  I feel elated and honored for the trust of some TB members as manifested in some of their posts since I've joined TB; that I could make a difference in others' lives and much to the Boholano community.

Principle for sincere commitment, dedication, values and patriotism do not anymore stand as the priority in this present time as people are blinded with wrong concept/outlook vis-a-vis cheap money (meager amount)in exchange for their votes during election day ( forgetting what lies ahead ).

But I am still optimistic that we could initiate and manage change if we continue to stand what we believe is right and be infectious to the rest.... by then we can actualize... everyone must be an agent of change...

The MAN for 2010 must REPRESENT the common tao....and must LEAD BY EXAMPLE... with his COMMITMENT AND GOOD VALUES.

One of the probable gubernatorial candidates for 2010 is no longer with us. We regret that Atty. Juanito "Nitz" Cambangay has passed away. He was buried today, January 21, 2008 at the Victoria Memorial Park.

He was 60 years old. And even though he opted to retire early as Provincial Planning and Development Officer, he continued to serve as the Governor's consultant on foreign relations/overseas development assistance.

Condolence to the bereaved family.

May the men and women of the same conviction as the late Atty. Cambangay rise and multiply so we could have that spirit lives on even with his absence.

With more than 2 years to go for the election, we have ample time to educate ourselves, to reconcile questions, to look for meaning, to cultivate and inspire others who have the vision that matched to our outlook and not advocating vote buying.

We should give more emphasis on the platform / agenda, the competencies to execute and leadership abilities.  And while in the process of mapping out these people, we hope that those aspirants have that noble vision of serving the people / community and not for their own interests.

What is Mr. Chatto's agenda?

All I know is that he comes from a very powerful family, wasn't the Governor of Bohol during the Marcos years also a Chatto?

Lin, what do you mean by "those people back home who has nothing to gain nothing to loose"?  I think our people has to realize that they are the beneficiary of a good governance.  There's an urgent need to inculcate to the minds of our people that they have to be more smarter in choosing their leaders.  They should stop taking the "insults" (without them knowing it) by accepting money from these candidates.  Yeah, I always believe these candidates buying votes are insulting the the voting public.  It surely isn't generosity.  It's a form of corruption that these candidates are involving the people!  This got to stop jud.

Mao nga dili masumpo kay wala man god nga makasulti firmly about the issue. Silence is equal to tolerance.  But if there are groups where its advocacy is on eliminating / eradicating vote buying who have that power and integrity.. am sure dunay mabag-o kon dili man dayon at least hinay hinay.

sa mga voters nga gipanggutom modawat gyud ni sila both sides... so it might be an idea to challenge sa aspirant candidate if he/she is motivated to serve the community nga dili na lang gyud sya manghatag ug inangayan no matter what win or lose... kay kon dili makadaug dili alkansi wala may gastos nya kon modaug thats the time nga iya ipakita ang iyang katakos sa pagsilbi sa katawhan.

'te, I completely agree with you. In order for this wretched phenomenon to cease, it will take proper action from the administration and the legislative body to place sanctions or arrest those who are propagating the act of vote buying. If no one is punished for these crimes, it will only continue and become part of the Filipino political culture. Its disgusting to think about it, but that is the only way it will stop. It has to begin form the bottom up, as well as cooperation from the heads of government.

One thing for sure, its going to take someone who has guts to quarrel with the 'powers that bee' in government, to challenge the so called 'status quo en politicum'

Who will it be? And when?

there is a question of leadership.... because those who are in powers are tolerant of the practice if not... they dwelt on it first... how would you cut when those in the top also advocated the practice?

If they have that clean concience and honestly thru to their morals, then they have to rectify this no matter what it will bring even to affecting their interests....

How would we change this system, Mr Ayag? Do we need a revolution?  I personally feel completely aloof with the situation at hand in the Philippines. The challenges that lay before us, indeed, are magnanimous. I can only pray that someone will rise from the masses to take hold and change this nation.

Were art thou, o brilliant and pious politicians? Rise up, rise up, and usher forth fresh air to this, our precious Republic. Surely there must be a Rizal, Quezon, Aguinaldo, Del Pilar, Bonifacio, Mabini within our midsts. Land of noble heroes, hide not thy brave Sons and Daughters.

The CHANGE must start in us...this must be propelled through moral leadership.  The initiative must be focused on VALUES' ORIENTATION OR REDIRECTION. Am praying that a province like BOHOL could produce such leadership and must lead by example.

the valedictory speech of Speaker JDV last night is very relevant as he calls for moral revolution.
