« on: November 11, 2007, 09:21:15 PM »
True to his tag as a hard-working congressman, first district Representative Edgar Chatto addressed three sectors in different speaking engagement set in six hours.

It was an opportunity for Chatto to deal with the "cross-section of society" spanning from the group of citizens in their twilight years to those in the prime of their youth and the children of sunshine age.

During the inauguration of the Senior Citizens Hall in Balilihan at nine in the morning on Wednesday, acknowledged the wisdom of the aged ones who are "timbers of the community".

From the there, Chatto proceeded to the graduation rites at Informatics Computer Institute in Tagbilaran City at noon where he before he inspired the new IT professional.

Then he joined the kids as he graced a celebration at the Dauis Day Care Center at two in the afternoon.

In the provincial federation assembly of the senior citizens held earlier, Chatto called on the sector's unity, for them to effectively work with the younger generations who may value bonding of community members regardless of ages.

In last Wednesday's event, the senior citizens, for their part, expressed gratitude to the congressman for his assistance in the construction of the Provincial Senior Citizens Building.

Indeed, unity and cooperation among sectors can be steps towards common welfare, Chatto said.

The congressman recognized the elders as productive components of the society.
He also commended them for their continuing contribution to the common good, despite their old age.

Chatto said the government is simply grateful that it provides the senior citizens with more social welfare avenues.

Balilihan's leading senior citizen is the solon's very own mother, Mayor Victoria Chatto.

From the senior citizens' affair, Chatto proceeded to Metro Centre Hotel in Tagbilaran City where he addressed the sixth batch of graduates of the Informatics Computer Institute.

As graduation guest speaker, he was welcomed by Informatics administrators led by its manager, Victoriano Tirol, who inducted the graduates to the school's alumni association, and its vice president for finance, Dr. Cristeta Tirol.

Chatto, who sits in Congress' influential committee on education, expressed pride in young Boholanos who, with their training on information technology (IT), are now ready to compete globally.

IT professionals are now among the best-paid workers, not to mention the growing global recognition of Filipino computer graduates.

After the senior and youth citizens, the Day Care children in Dauis took the chance of listening to the congressman, who is fondly regarded in his district as the "honorary classmate" of Day Care tots, during the culmination of the town's Children's Month Celebration.

Chatto has been providing Day Care buildings, books and instructional materials which are relevant start to learning.

The occasion was highlighted by the crowning of the kiddy King and Queen of Dauis Day Care Centers 2007.

Chatto, who was joined by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Constancia Tuñacao and Provincial Early Childhood Development Coordinator John Tabaranza, invoked the children's rights to education, in addition to sound health.
