The Bohol SK Federation Presidency battle
« on: November 11, 2007, 08:15:20 PM »
Published by the Bohol Sunday Post

The last electoral battle for president of the Sangguniang Kabataan in Bohol's 1,109 barangays saw the election of as many aspirants but the most exciting part of it all is-- who will emerge winner of the expectedly tightly-fought race for the SK federation presidency.

This year's SK federation contest promises to be the most "bloody" in terms of vote buying, kidnapping and other dirty tactics employed by the handlers of the candidates.

The last SK elections was the living testament of what it will be like when the battle royale for SK federation president comes. Reports of massive vote buying kidnapping and housing of voters were the order of the day during the last polls of young leaders.

Where else but from their elders are where the young politicians learn the art of vote buying-the tested yardstick in winning an elective post. This means, the coming SK tussle in the province is no different from the previous ones where money was the language best understood even by young voters.

The choice then is between how much money can buy ballots or going over the leadership potential of a particular candidates. The pick is obvious and it's all about money-- and lots of it..
Three names were floated, this early, to win handily in the races for president in the towns. Due primarily to pedigree and money, the three easy winners over their opponents, if at all, there is any.

In the short list are the Big Three made up of Rochelle Brigitte Lim-Imboy of Loay; Jane Censoria Cajes of Trinidad and Maria Fe Cadeliña of Bilar.

Their names sound familiar? Why not?

Lim-Imboy, 17, is the pretty daughter of Loay Mayor May Lim-Imboy PCL president Brigido "Boy" Imboy is a cinch of a winner in the SK contest for president in Loay.

Banking on the support of 19 of 24 barangay SK chairmen, Lim-Imboy is a sure-winner even before the political exercise in the municipality is conducted.

A fourth year student of an exclusive girls' school in Cebu (Sacred Heart School for Girls), the young Imboy is the clan's bet in the epic fight for SB president in the province.

An Imboy triumph in the federated SK is considered another feather to the cap of the politically-entrenched clan.

This lady Imboy can be a vital cog representing the youth to the ambition of her mother to run for Bohol governor in 2010.

The two Imboys will be backstopped by the husband who is number one Loay councilor. The Imboy patriarch is also eyeing the 2010third district congressional plum after a failed attempt last May due to personal reasons..

CAJES'GIRL

Never to be outfought and never to be "outmoneyed", the girl to beat in the Bohol SK presidency is the daughter of Cong. Roberto Cajes and Trinidad Mayor Judith del Rosario-Cajes.

Groomed as the successor of the incumbent SK federation president Francis Bobbit Cajes-Auza, the younger Cajes is a consistent honor student who according to informed sources if pitted against their opponents-she will give them a run of their money, academically.

As a congressman's daughter, money is out of the question. Therefore, if the color of money is the tipping point of the SP elections, this Cajes baby is unbeatable.

The third force, if she is called as such, is no pushover either.

Also a daughter of a political kingpin in his own right, Cadeliña is the child of Bilar Mayor Fanuel Cadeliña.

The Bilar mayor may not enjoy the same immense wealth as the Lim-Imboys and the Cajeses but she is also a force to reckon weight in a three-cornered scramble.

The ace up of her sleeve of this Bilar bet is the financial wallop of Angelo Balili who was touted to have expressed interest in helping his close friend's daughter. The Bilar mayor is a certified acolyte of the Loboc millionaire.
