LGU-South Cotabato, kaunaunahan sa bansa na nagkaroon ng Cepheid GeneXpert 16-Module Machine for SARS-COV2 Testing.
Sa ngayon, may tatlong machine lang sa Pilipinas, unang dalawa ay nasa
Lung Center of the Philippines at Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) na pawang DOH-owned facilities at hindi LGUs.
Ang naturang impormasyon, kinumpirma ng Macare Medicals, Inc., ang exclusive supplier and distributor ng Cepheid GeneXpert 16-Module Machine.
Binili ng Provincial Government of South Cotabato sa pangunguna ni Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. ang naturang machine at ito ay ininstall sa Dr. Arturo P. Pingoy Medical Center (DAPPMC), kung saan naroroon ang COVID-19 Testing Laboratory.
Sa pamamagitan nito, matatamo na ang target na 16 test results sa loob lamang ng 50 minutes o maximum na 150 tests sa walong oras.
Makakatulong ito ng Malaki para sa probinsya na magkaroon ng mabilis na turn-around time of test results kada araw.
