LOOK: GOVERNOR NELSON DAYANGHIRANG SPEAKS AT THE PHILIPPINE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ONLINE FORUM

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang was one of the speakers during the Philippine Local Government Forum held yesterday, October 16, 2020 via zoom conference hosted by the Local Government Academy.

As one of the resource speakers of the high-level meeting, Governor Dayanghirang shared Davao Oriental’s best practices and efforts in achieving a sustainable and conflict-resilient community by showcasing his flagship program dubbed as Nagkakaisang Lingkod-Bayan ng Davao Oriental-Barangay Outreach Caravan (NLD-BOC).

Gov. Dayanghirang discussed how the program enabled the government get closer to the people not only by extending services to them but empowering them to have their voices heard by the government. He also gave emphasis on the milestones and accomplishments of the province since the inception of NLD-BOC in 2016.

For Governor Dayanghirang, “good governance is brought about by empowered community cooperators who are active participants, emphatic, and aware.”

The high-level meeting which was participated by local government units all over the nation is in line with the observance of the Local Government Month that bids to enhance capacities of local government units (LGUs) and other stakeholders towards good governance that will contribute to enhancing the resilience of communities from major government issues.
Other important personalities who talked during the forum are Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
