Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III topped the latest nationwide survey on presidentiables conducted by independent polling firm StratPOLLS Inc.
The survey, conducted September 17 to 24, showed Aquino enjoying 37 percent of electoral support, followed by Sen. Manuel Villar at 19 percent, or a whooping 18 percent difference.
Sen. Francis Escudero and former president Joseph Estrada are tied for third and fourth with 11 percent while Vice President Noli de Castro came in fifth with seven percent.
Sen. Loren Legarda and Defense Sec. Gilbert Teodoro are tied at sixth and seventh places with five percent each.
In the survey, the Liberal party standard-bearer got the highest votes across, and has encroached deeply into, the known geographic bailiwicks, age groups and socioeconomic classes earlier dominated by his rivals.-bohol chronicle
