I have written this line as a comment to one article about how to remove Mayor Dan Lim, but some friends here in Tubag Bohol have encouraged me to put this as one new topic for discussion. So here it is. Please tell me what you think of this opinion or suspicion or indignation...

How true is the story circulating around the city that Mayor Lim has tens of millions of Intelligence Funds but has never met the City Peace and Order Council? and has not given share to the City PNP office? It was the Provincial PNP team who ran after the bandits who robbed the Bank of Commerce, except when ex Mayor Dumaluan called in to have the wounded escapee captured while in his resort. But why was Mayor Lim acting as if he were the hero when the first member of the gang was captured? He showed himself being interviewed about the capture, went on the air to make pronouncements, asked the police to have the accused come to his office, and all the media hype his spinners could muster were done.

I was dining with a friend tonight and later another friend (not common to my friend with whom I am dining with) came to join us. I was surprised at their opinions telling me that Mayor Lim is considered the Illegal Gambling Lord of the Province of Bohol. This is why the City PNP has very low morale.

Help!!! I am greatly disturbed... please tell me these issues are not true or tell me to understand why people believe these issues and why these are circulating around the good people of Tagbilaran City.

intelligence funds. this is money allocated usually in the local governments to be used to maintain peace and security of their territories. usually, the manner this fund is expended does not follow the usual scrutiny of the Commission on Audit.

By the way, if you are referring to Mayor Lim's frequent travels abroad as "vacation". try to look at it again. where had he gone for vacationing? No sir, he is not vacationing, he is going where the boxing tournament is, to place his bet.

I met another classmate yesterday whom I have not seen for a decade and the same thing she told me... that the Mayor is running the illegal drugs and gambling business in the province. The way the city is attracting these criminals is an indication that there is a big fish in the powerful seat inviting them. In the last boxing bout of Bombom, I heard Mayor Lim lost millions. That was where he went and not on vacation.

In the May 2007 city mayorial election, this allegation was scattered on air by Joe Torralba's camp. Dan Lim's political foes said they have evidence (on record) that millions of intelligence funds allegedly went to wrong directions.

Being a journalist I have to see yet the physical piece of evidence (paper documents) before I can formulate my stand on this issue.

The problem with our people is that they would only drop a mind-blasting expose/issue during an election period. Anyone who becomes target of an issue, whether true or untrue, would simply respond: "This is an election propaganda!"

It would make a really big difference in our society if our concerned citizens would unleash an expose on times that election is far from people's stream of consciousness.

People are afraid period. So don't blame them if they're only up to rumors. Which I truly understand it's not just proctecting themselves but their entire family. These whole stories about the Mayor doesn't end up to him only. There's more into it which means there's more people who are involve. And the scariest part is that, one of them is a Philippine alien.
