MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) - After staying mum for months, the Liberal Party revealed on Monday at the historic Club Filipino its senatorial line-up for the 2013 polls.

The Liberal Party will carry the banners of incumbent senators Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero, Koko Pimentel, Alan Peter Cayetano and embattled Antonio Trillanes IV.

Also included in the line-up is MTRCB chief Grace Poe Llamanzares.

Legarda, Escudero and Poe are also guest candidates of Vice President Jejomar Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance.

Also in the Liberal Party line-up, which has coalesced with other political parties such as the NPC and Nacionalista are: former Las Pinas Rep. Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara and Risa Hontiveros.

Also joining the list are former senators Jamby Madrigal and Jun Magsaysay.  The administration party also included Paolo Benigno "Bam" Aquino, the president’s cousin.

Bam Aquino and Magsaysay are the only LP members in the administration senatorial slate.

In his speech, President Aquino extolled the exemplary qualities of the 12 administration candidates.

Aquino praised re-electionists Legarda, Escudero, Cayetano, Pimentel and Trillanes for their continued support and for their respectives advocacies for the environment, anti-corruption and the youth.

He praised Villar, wife of Sen. Manny Villar, for seeking to expand her advocacy to provide livelihoods to poor Filipinos.

He also extolled Hontiveros-Baraquel for being a staunch ally of the LP in all issues, and to former senator Magsaysay for exposing the fertilizer fund scandal.

Aquino thanked Poe-Llamanzares for showing exemplary leadership in the MTRCB, and Madrigal for her advocacy for the youth.

The President thanked Angara for staking his political future when he served as spokesman of House prosecutors during the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Finally, he extolled the qualities of his cousin, Bam, who graduated summa cum laude at the Ateneo de Manila University and is a Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) awardee. "Bam, kung maligaw ka ng landas, kalimutan mo na ang nanay at tatay ko at lola muna natin ang haharapin mo. Pag natapos na ang lola, ako naman ang bahala sa iyo," he told Bam in jest.

In his speech, Aquino also revealed that LP stalwarts, Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon and Quezon Rep. Erin Tanada, gave way to the other Senate bets.
