Mabilo I into a low-cost housing project to benefit low-income government and private employees qualified under the Expanded Housing Loan Program (EHLP) of the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF).

The agreement was signed following the cornerstone laying held August 23 at the project site, a kilometer away from the town proper.

The project conceptualized years ago by the municipal government to meet the demands of the growing population is being pushed through by the administration of Mayor Winifredo B. Oco.

The 4.29 hectare lot is owned by the PMO, the trustee of government-owned land throughout the country.

At the agreement signing the PMO was represented by its Chief Privatization Officer Ricardo S. Canlas, while the developer, J. Marbella Construction and Supply, a duly licensed contractor was represented by its owner/proprietor Jerry A. Luz.

The project, which shall be known as the Villa Mabilo Homes, shall generate a total of 294 houses and lot units which shall be offered or amortization to qualified applicants for 25 years. The whole project costs P92.39 million.

According to Mayor Oco, the project shall be implemented at no cost for the local government. However, he appealed to all town officials and employees to help in the promotion and marketing of the project to other public and private employees, proprietors, teachers, AFP and PNP personnel as well as other applicants.

Eng’r. Albert Perfecto, Bicol regional manager of the National Housing Authority (NHA) representing the PMO, congratulated the efforts of the municipal government in upholding the 10-point agenda of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, as he reiterated his agency’s support to the LGU in providing low-cost housing facilities to the people of Labo. Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
