Gov. Erico Aumentado is awaiting a major announcement on the administration's presidential standard bearer for the 2010 elections.
He confirmed to the Chronicle receiving a call from Malacanang asking him to be "on stand by" for call this Wednesday.
On the same day, Pres. Arroyo will meet with the execom of the Lakas-Kampi of which Gov. Aumentado is a member being the regional and provincial chairman for Central Visayas and Bohol, respectively.
"It remains to be very fluid on who will be the anointed presidential standard bearer of the administration," Gov. Aumentado said. However, he confirms that in the short list of presidentiables are Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro and Vice Pres. Noli de Castro while the possibility of Sen. Manuel Villar get into the list remains possible.
The governor said that the "stand by" order from the Palace did not divulge details of Wednesday's meeting.
Aside from the political party meeting, the governor is slated to meet with Pres. Arroyo on the much delayed Panglao Bohol International Airport.
In fact, he was in Cagayan de Oro City yesterday to observe the ongoing construction of the new CDO domestic airport.
The governor remains optimistic that the construction of the new airport in Panglao can commence before the May 2010 polls. - the bohol chronicle
