Edgar Chatto After 2010

Brothers Provincial Board Member Cesar Tomas Lopez and Mayor Peter Lloyd Lopez would like outgoing first district Rep. Edgar Chatto to serve the Boholanos beyond his term in Congress.

The elder Lopez who is the senior member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan urged the Boholanos, particularly his townmates, to “support Chatto so that he could extend his service to the province.”

The younger Lopez who serves his second term as the municipal chief executive said the solon’s “talent in effective governance must not be wasted.”

“The Boholanos must have Chatto keeping his service to the people,” the mayor stressed.

Chatto, whose Congress term will end in June next year, has consistently topped in surveys for next Bohol governor succeeding last-termer Gov. Erico Aumentado.

The Lopez brothers who are cousins of former Gov. Rene Relampagos made the statements during the blessing and turnover of the waterworks project led by Chatto himself in Cansuaguit, Loon on Saturday.

Fellow local officials chorused with the capitol lawmaker and the mayor in citing Chatto as a reliable development provider.

Department of Public Works and Highways officials, Vice Mayor Bong Ladeza, town councilors and barangay leaders attended, too, the ceremony. Fr. Floro Hora officiated the project blessing.

In his speech, Chatto assured the Loonanons of his continuous support to the development thrusts of their municipality and barangays.

In coordination with the provincial leadership, Chatto’s present major work in Loon---and ultimately for Bohol--- involves the on-going concrete conversion of the sleepy inter-island Catagbacan port into an international cruise ship.

It has been envisioned to become the country’s major global cruise ship destination outside Metro Manila. The international cruise industry is a fast-growing sector of global tourism.

The on-going first major phase of the port project is slated to be finished next summer at a cost of P80 million. The final second phase will follow.
