A daughter of a former Bohol governor was the first to file her certificate of candidacy for the May 2010 elections.
Dr. Mutya Kismet Tirol-Macuno filed her certificate of candidacy with the Commission on Elections during the first day of the 12-day registration period of candidates for both local and national.
Macuno, a physician by profession, is running for board member in the 2nd congressional district, to succeed her mother, Prov'l Board Member Amalia Tirol who is eyeing the mayoralty seat of Ubay town.
Dr. Macuno is the eldest daughter of former Gov. David B. Tirol, then known as Bohol's political wonder boy.
Provincial Comelec Supervisor Lavaria said candidates for the coming elections can register up to Nov. 31 which is the last day for filing of their certificates of candidacies.
This is the first time that the deadline for filing of the COCs is way ahead than the usual time due to the computerization of the ballots for next year's elections.
The names of the candidates will have to be encoded in time for the first automated counting of election returns.
