Cynthia Villar has expressed confidence that her husband Senator Manuel Villar would win in the 2010 presidential election even if the opposition failed to unite.
In an interview on Sunday afternoon, Villar said there would be "no turning back for Manny (Villar)" because the senator was very much capable to run a presidential campaign on his own.
"We are confident of winning because it's the people, not the party, who would vote for him for president," Villar said, adding that "the people would vote for their governor or mayor or even congressmen but they have their own choices for president."
She noted that her husband has been consistently topping the surveys.
"But that's not our only gauge for running for the highest position. We've been planning this before," Villar said.
She claimed that some members of the Lakas have signified their support for her husband.
