Today during the Bohol Tri Media Association (BTMA) monthly meeting ALARMA held at JJ's Seafood's two representatives Attorneys spoke to the media about a more modern and newer style in how Philippine registered voters will be be made for the coming election and more.

The Attorneys said that instead of voting by paper ballot the votes will be entered into a computer.

This will help eliminate the voter fraud of vote buying that goes on here, and hopefully cut down on campaign and murders that are going on in this country.

Philippine residents who are registered voters who are living abroad will be able to vote by absentee ballots.

Further news to follow by other media members who would like to ad to this topic. The meeting for ALARMA was sponsored by IT College AMA learning Center for IT students.

Hi Madam,

Can you educate us further  on how this new system will eliminate election irregularities especially on vote buying ?

Did you happen to discuss how ready we are in terms of infrastructure resources (communication lines, hardwares, etc) and voter education for the automation of Philippine election ?   Like in a remote area in Bohol, how do we connect them to the datacenters for the processing and transmission of election results.  What are the contingencies just incase the communication lines are down or a computer unit is defective.  Are there back-up units that will be allocated say for Bohol just incase this happens?

Thanks,

Bedo

Bedo you have raised some good points. Unfortunantly i had come into the meeting late, but I did hear them say that there would be 8 thousand voter machines for Bohol to use.

It does not seem like much consideriing the amount of some of the barangay's does it?

I would be happy to forward your questions of concern to the comelec local office of Bohol and find out what i can for you in your concern.

Thanks Bedo.
