Rep. Edgar Chatto (Lakas-Kampi-CMD) and former provincial administrator Tomas Abapo Jr. (NP) led in the gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial race, respectively during the recent mock election conducted by the the various youth leaders in the province.
The results for the provincial positions affirmed local surveys with Chatto consistently leading the gubernatorial race.
Chatto soared with 91 votes (80.5%) while close rival Vice-Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera got only 16, votes and actor-director Cesar Montano settled with only five votes.
Abapo led the vice-gubernatorial race with 74 votes (65%) while former provincial schools division superintendent Elpidio Jala (LP) settled with 38 votes (33.6%) and Chris Alturas got two, while Chatto's runningmate, Provincial Board Member Concepcion Lim got only one vote.
The Youth for Clean, Honest, Authentic, Meaningful and Peaceful elections (Youth CHAMP) mock election was held at the Holy Name University (HNU) audio visual last April 8.
The attendees comprise 16 student councils and five youth organizations- -Rotaract, Junior Jaycees, Red Cross Youth, Dagohoynon Youth, and Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal.
In the 1st congressional derby, former Gov. Rene Relampagos soared with 81 votes (71.7%), leaving behind Councilor Oscar Glovasa with five votes, Councilor Edgar Kapirig with two votes, and Jun Magat, with two votes.
In the 2nd district, Aumentado got a whopping 91 votes (80.5 %), leaving only four votes for Trinidad Mayor Judith Cajes, and zero for both Andy Manatad and Jun Mendez.
Sole aspirant for congressman in the 3rd district, former Agriculture Sec. Arthur Yap, got 90 votes (79.6%).
The mock election was attended by 16 student councils and five youth organizations- -Rotaract, Junior Jaycees, Red Cross Youth, Dagohoynon Youth, and Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal.
