Lakas-Kampi-CMD gubernatorial aspirant Rep. Edgar Chatto is the best leader that Boholanos need, according to Padayon Bol-anon.

The group last night said a leader cannot assume to be capable by simply trying to draw strength from faking issues against someone else whose outstanding leadership performance is of public knowledge.

One cannot destroy a leader overnight who has established sterling records in his long accomplished years in public service, according to Board Member Alfonso Damalerio II, Lakas campaign manager and spokesman.

The group issued these statements in reaction to a paid black propaganda entitled â€œThe Leader That Boholanos Need.â€

It said the Boholanos have watched Chatto grow as a leader from his student days to his youth involvement in governance representing the sector in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

At the age of 27, he led the mayors in Bohol as the president of their league, until he rose to the vice governorship that made him the first Boholano to head the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines and the 4,000-strong National Movement Of Young Legislators.

He was the first secretary-general of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), which name he himself coined when they organized the mother league of local leagues.

His stint in Congress is marked by very high performance rating both in milestone legislations of national and local impacts and projects implemented.

The manifesto is the fourth successive weekend publication expected to be also printed as a paid advertisement in national and regional dailies and massively reproduced using government funds.

Damalerio viewed this as a desperate move to weaken, with strongest malice to destroy, Chattoâ€™s mass-based support.

This is another attempt to further mislead the people to ruin the reputation and credibility of Lakas gubernatorial aspirant Rep. Edgar Chatto, consistent survey topnotcher, according to Padayon Bol-anon.

But Padayon Bol-anon thanked, though, the assuming and pretentious publication as it further unmasked Lakas men otherwise long pre-identified to betray the party.

Now, they are joined by personalities belonging to other parties in an unholy coalition of vested interests, the group said.

Among the new non-Lakas signatories is Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Lim, a known Chatto adversary because of his political rivalry with Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso, brother-in-law of the congressman.

Maribojoc Mayor Leoncio Evasco, a protÃ©gÃ©e of Lim, also signed the manifesto.

Chatto has proven wrong the claims that he fears to take risks in crisis situations. This is indicated by his taking the risk of running for governor despite the conspiracy against him which he knew all along earlier on.

His bold moves recently caught everyone by surprise when he led a press conference of party leaders to speak out the truth and expose the grand scheme of deceit out to destroy him and the party in both national and local levels.

His critics would use all hammers to nail him down because he is his own man---upright, dedicated, sincere, humble and unassuming but cannot be cowed by anyone whose self interest collides with his guiding principles in public service, said his fellows in government who know him by heart.

Hence, awards and recognitions were accorded him by various institutions, including the â€œNobel Prizeâ€ of Philippine public service, the Lingkod Bayan Award, of the Civil Service Commission. No other elected public official in Bohol has equaled Chatto in this feat.

He is also a pioneer recipient of the Ten Outstanding Boholanos Around the World (TOBAW) Award for public service and the Presidential Youth Leadership Award in his younger years.

The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation cited him as among the exemplary individuals in the Visayas and Mindanao.

His positions on certain sensational issues like the Reproductive Health Bill is clear unlike what his critics would like him to appear. This earned him an award from the Roman Catholic Church and Human Life International as a pro-God, pro-life, pro-family congressman.

We need a performer, a workaholic, someone who would hit the ground running ...words of Aumentado, when he was last elected...we could not trust a non-performer to perform simply because he is in an office which needs performance...Montano is a performer...if you ask me, so is chatto...but herrera? he wasted nine years of being a vice governor, no action and no landmark legislation in his first six years...and in his last term? wala gihapon...maayo na lang dihay mga performing BM's who finished some laws nga gikinahanglan jud sa katawhan...all voters should weight things carefully and VOTE WISELY...
