Unopposed Third District congressional candidate
Arthur Yap has passionately appealed to his fellow Boholanos for total support to the Lakas-Kampi-CMD line-up from presidential bet Gibo Teodoro to gubernatorial timber Rep. Edgar Chatto and down to the municipal level.
The former agriculture secretary recounted how supportive the Arroyo administration has been to Bohol's development, and he believed that the momentum can be best sustained by choosing the able men and women under the administration flag.
Yap sounded his serious and honest appeal on the day the Lakas traitors led by Aumentado announced their "joke alliance" with personalities campaigning for separate presidents.
In another act of deception, some alliance figures sowed intrigue of Yap as to be with them.
In their campaign sortie in Guindulman on Friday, Yap took pride in being in the Lakas ticket of "stellar, superstar" candidates in the province led by Chatto and his vice governor, Board Member Concepcion Lim who is also the Bohol president of all barangay councils.
Once proclaimed winner, Lim will write history as the first elected woman vice governor in this part of the country, according to Yap.
The soft-spoken Yap took the opportunity of thanking another woman who was his "first supporter" when he then floated himself for Third District congressman, reelectionist Mayor Fe Piezas, who led a town caravan on the same day.
Chatto, Lim and Yap were joined by reelectionist Board Members Aster Apalisok-Piollo, Jing Trabajo and Brigido Imboy, who is the provincial president of the Philippine Councilors' League (PCL), and comebacking former Board Member Godofreda Tirol.
Days before the Guindulman sortie, the Chatto-led group stormed Anda in a motorcade greeted by eager supporters waving whatever green they had. The color of nature provides identity to the Lakas-Kampi-CMD camp this election under Teodoro as the national standard bearer.
Yap asked his constituents to "show the force of the Third District" for the Lakas line-up led by Chatto at the helm of the province.
"I believe the Third District will be given a lot of development projects" with Chatto governing the Boholano province," Yap declared.
He likes the people to regard him as a generous contributor to progress, stressing that he would share "whatever I can get in Congress." His service will be an "open book."
The "incoming" congressman expressed steel confidence in Chatto's leadership of their group, so that he "could not rest until we all win." Yap confessed that some told him to just stay away in comfort because he has no opponent anyway. But Yap and his fellows in the group are committed to each other from start to finish.
Yap worried about how vested politicking could create chaos, but he is confident that the people would listen to them because "the people trust us."
The Lakas faithfuls guided by Chatto also wooed the constituents in Garcia Hernandez in a proclamation rally of the municipal slate led by Tita Galendez for mayor and last-termer Mayor Myrna Scheurs who slides down to vice mayor.
The Chatto card and the municipal line-up in Dimiao, also a Third District town, got stronger commitment from the barangay leaders headed by their ABC president.
The camp of genuine Lakas further held proclamation rallies, this time in the Second District towns of Dagohoy, San Miguel, Clarin and Inabanga, and in the First District municipality of Alburquerque.
In the Second District, the provincial slate was joined by congressional bet Judith Cajes and her husband Rep. Roberto Cajes.
Back to the First District, Chatto and his group cruised to the Mantatao island in Calape together with the municipal line-up of reelectionist Mayor Junnie Yu and candidate for vice mayor Nelson Yu. Islanders rejoiced over the visit of their Lakas candidates and "model leaders."
A local caravan followed in Loon led by reelectionist Mayor Lloyd Peter Lopez with the Loonanon congressional bet in the First District, former Gov. Rene Relampagos.
One of Chatto's board members is from Loon, reelectionist Yul Lopez who is a brother of the mayor. The other aspirants for board members are lawyers Abel Damalerio and Benjie Arcamo. (Ven rebo Arigo)
