www.boholchronicle.comHotelier Anos Fonacier strongly denied yesterday having orchestrated the candidacy of a Panglao kagawad to the provincial seat as president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC).
In a call he made to the Chronicle yesterday, Fonacier said that he did not lift a finger to field Panglao Kagawad Cerino Hormachuelos as a candidate for provincial ABC president. He likewise denied having allowed Panglao Mayor Benedicto Alcala to negotiate for the candidacy of Hormachuelos.
Fonacier who has been in Manila for the past weeks expressed surprise when he heard his name floated as the one responsible for the bid of Hormachuelos.
"I never have discussed anything about the provincial ABC elections with anybody," the hotelier said while declaring he has no interest whatsoever on the ABC seat.
Fonacier said that some people used his name in an attempt to do some "dirty maneuvers" for one reason or another. He strongly denounced the people behind the move to implicate him in the ABC intramurals.
The Chronicle reported last Sunday that Valencia ABC President Concepcion Lim who served as provincial board member for three terms is running unopposed in the coming election for provincial ABC president slated on Dec. 29.
The bid of Hormachuelos was highlighted in a local weekly (not the Chronicle) last Sunday which surprised Fonacier.
Incumbent ABC Pres. Romulo Cepedoza is no longer running for the position.
The late Prov'l Kagawad Renato Lim, brother of the lady official once assumed the post as provincial ABC president.
