Gibo resigned as Chairman of Lakas-Kampi not as President. His reason is to focus more on his candidacy because there are so many problems being faced by the party that all started in the maguindanao massacre where one of it's strongest allies the ampatuans were involved.
Aumentado is still the regional chairman of Lakas.
