The election for 2010 is now starting to heat up.

Action movie star Cesar Montano is reported to have now activated a group that formerly worked for him in his botched senatorial bid.

The multi-awarded actor met some mayors from the third district last week in Peacock Garden, a luxury mountain resort in Laya, Baclayon.

This was confirmed by League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Bohol chapter President Jagna Mayor Exuperio Lloren in a media interview.

Although Lloren came late in the afternoon, several mayors of the third districts’ 19 towns attended the meeting with Montano.

Montano was among the official senatorial candidates of the Lakas-CMD administration coalition last May 2007 synchronized national and local elections.

Indecisiveness within the family, particularly with his wife actress Sunshine Cruz, cost him his bid to enter the Senate.

It was also in that election that he attempted to run as Bohol Governor as he failed to start the senatorial campaign on time and financial woes from his official party hounded him.

He was reportedly prevailed by incumbent Gov. Erico B. Aumentado.

There was some brouhaha that the basketball tournament last May 25 organized by DYRD in cooperation with Montano and his showbiz colleagues was in fact an early mobilization, nay a veiled one, for his foray into the gubernatorial contest in 2010.

DYRD, of course, vehemently denied this--walay pulitika daw, usa lang daw ka kalihukan para sa mga kabus.

That sounds to me a lot like a political slogan. Not that I am personally against Montano, who should at least be given credit for giving Bohol a share of the limelight in the heydey of his celluloid career. We should not be snooty about actors getting into politics. But yes, I think Montano should try the lower rung first, if he is really intent on pursuing a political career, so he could move on a gradual transition to heavier responsibilities.

I attended the event last night it was packed and a great time spent by all.

It was funny, and the players on both sides of the fence busted gut and did great.

The money is to go into the dyrd fund that helps indigent persons but medicines that they could not otherwise get.

So what and bid deal if this is a political climb up the ladder for Montano.

Governor was a writer for the Chronicle before he ran for office.

Montano has always been so good to me as a friend and in person always has a hug and a kiss or an offer for a cup of coffee and always says to me "Its is always nice to see you!

He always pays a courtesy visit to most places he is familiar with when he comes into town.

Can anyone say anything positive for a good cause?

I was also able to obtain the personal cell phone numbers to abs/cbn stars who also said i am pretty sweet and they mentioned about inviting me to manila to visit the sets on their shows.

I am glad to see everyone getting out to enjoy instead of at home doing nothing but getting old fast with a lack of nothing to do!
