old man with words
« on: October 26, 2010, 10:52:12 AM »
There by and by the mount of efraim lived the man named eserbidigus,
old eserbidigus was a disdainful old man,
easily ambiguous , prudently reproaching to the youth about,
oh but let me not continue in such distaste,
nay, let me sing a deeper tune.

For once upon a time, the old man that is now eserbidigus once loved,
yes, love he did, love he gave, and love stolen
for you see the pain that burned within was the catalyst of his impudence
oh poor old eserbidigus, ye , woe to his aching heart, to this day, there is no reprieve.
To love was his destination, loving was his offering,
To adore her was his intent, to be loved in return was his yearning,
she did not.

Oh old eserbidigus, woe to your soft heart now hardened to stone.
A tear or two is shed for thee, eserbidigus, for you.

Why is it that thy heart is so cold to the times, old eserbidigus
Why is it that you are so hostile to the feelings of love,
Every time the youth are in earnest, display their affections for one another,
That is the purity of love, and yet you are in disdain.

Let not your own failings in Love be a dimming factor for those who now love,
For those who now yearn, for those who are yearned for.
It is pitiable that you are so brusque mannered, peremptory at best.

Does it hurt so much , does it sting your heart to hear of love,
to feel love, that when others express it, you have the bitter sense to lambast ?
Ah, your deceitful tongue cannot even touch, for it slips when it tries to bring down ,
Love cannot be with you if you cannot show it.

A poem for you, old eserbidigus...
