When presented with the situation,
that I was leaving Bohol again,
he met it with a smile and a phrase,
"Mo huwat ko."

My grandfather said the most beautiful phrase that I've heard come from him.
"Mo huwat ko."

Kai gusto man siya mo kita sa ahong ginikanan
kai gusto man siya mo kita sa ahong mga igsoon--iyang mga apo.
Mo huwat siya.

I beg and pray to God's sweet embrace
to give him more years to live,
strength of body,
strength of will,
strength of spirit,
so that we can see him again.

My dearest, beloved grandfather whom my memory cannot forget,
whose very voice commands my tears come down.

"Mo huwat ko."

I love you, 'Lo.
