Do you remember the first time we first met?
I, in my confident gait and my handshake
I, in my question to you, "Do you happen to be Filipina?"
Ha Ha Ha

And do you remember how I reacted to feel your firm grip?
Complimentary to my own.
Do you remember?
How I conversed and how our conversations were genuine in the first day?


And the many days that passed, the many nights,
How our feelings for each other grew.
Friends and then to more.
Friendship and then to more.
Do you remember?

How I would read you poems on the docks,
do you remember?
How I would sing to you, yes, even with my deep voice?
Ha ha ha, and you would react with smile and a laugh.
Oh i did not care if i made a fool of myself.
For better to be a fool in love,
than a wise man who never loved.

Do you remember the first time we kissed?
Oh yes I do.
Tis fresh in my mind, the first of so many.

I love you.
It is simple yet it is pure.
This I love i have for  you.

Have you ever seen a man cry in joy?
Do you remember?
I do. For it was I.
And I am not afraid to admit it to you and to all that read this poem.
