Awww man, what a beautiful memory, Beth.

I'll have to taste this someday.

speaking of memories, we had that one right beside my window in Ilihan,Ubay when we were growing up during vacation days and i remember i always made katkat there to make laro the so called dakpehnay, i wonder hangtud karon ngano wala man to mabali ang KAHKAHW,(that's how i pronouned it right now, slang nga eh sometimes)na among katkatan?

hehehe gud.

Like I said, just let me know.

Beth, Dong Bran may not have the "gadgetries" like the batirol.  Or, you can use blender Dong so you can have frothy sikwati!

Grace, wala baya koy baterol ug paddle, ang akong gigamit kay soup pan and when the water boils I put the "tabliya" and as soon as it melts I use a whisk. Keep whisking until mag bula-bula na gyud na sya ug all the tabliya are melted and well mixed. And yes I put soymilk too.

Or you could pulverize the tabliya first before putting it in the hot water so that it doesn't take as much effort to dissolve and you could use a wooden ladle or spatula.

By the way, naa nay daghang three-in-one sikwate that's being sold commercially in the Philippines but I think they're using refined sugar.  I personally prefer kinugay - this is in spite of Barbaro's cautionary tale about his pilfering kinugay as a kid and the rat's skull. ;D  Di jud to pwede malimtan, 'lex. ;D

Tama jud ka Paul i powder sa daan.  I use my tiny food processor to pulverize the tabliya aron dali ra kon gamiton nko for baking cake or sikwati. I prefer brown sugar.  Oi, speaking of kinugay, ganahan jud ko ani ga lanlan sa bata pa ko.
