Declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines
« on: September 21, 2020, 06:15:24 PM »
#OnThisDay September 21, 1972, President Ferdinand E. Marcos signs the Martial Law edict (Proclamation No. 1081) to be imposed nationwide; at that time not publicly announced.[1]

Proclamation No. 1081 was the document, which contained formal proclamation of martial law in the Philippines by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, as announced to the public on September 23, 1972.

According to the Official Gazette of the Philippines: When President Ferdinand E. Marcos appeared on television at 7:15pm on September 23, 1972, to announce that he had placed the “entire Philippines under Martial Law” by virtue of Proclamation No. 1081, he framed his announcement in legalistic terms that, however, were untrue, and that has helped camouflage the true nature of his act. Thus, the Anniversary of the Declaration of Martial Law is on September 23, 1972 - not September 21, 1972.[2][3]

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
