Upholding Children’s Rights During the Pandemic
« on: November 20, 2020, 06:53:03 AM »
Today is National Child Health Month. This year’s celebration will focus on Upholding Children’s Rights During the Pandemic, with the theme “Sama-samang Itaguyod Ang Karapatan ng Bawat Bata sa Panahon ng Pandemya!”. It aims to promote the protection of all children and their rights and provide practical support to parents and caregivers on how to care for children and themselves during the pandemic.

Recently, President Duterte urged parents to have their children immunized against measles and polio as the Philippines holds its national vaccination program. He underscored the need for communicable diseases to be promptly addressed, especially in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Department of Health, together with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is implementing a nationwide Measles, Rubella, and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA) in two phases, in order to prevent a measles outbreak in the coming months, and to end the currently ongoing poliovirus transmission and re-circulation in the country.

Together, let us safeguard the well-being of our children and ensure a healthier future for our nation.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
